The Ministry Of Propaganda Declares Ron Paul "Unelectable"
Submitted by Charles Hugh Smith from Of Two Minds
The Ministry Of Propaganda Declares Ron Paul "Unelectable"
The Ministry of Propaganda has chosen to suppress the only dangerous-to-the-Power Elites candidate by declaring him "unelectable."
The Status Quo's Ministry of Propaganda has a single political task for 2012: eliminate the sole threat to the Status Quo (Ron Paul) from the running, leaving voters with a "choice" of clueless stooges for the Power Elite.
That roster includes President Obama and the daytime-TV/soap-opera field of Republicrat contenders.
The Ministry of Propaganda has settled on a ludicrous strategy to eliminate Ron Paul: declare Paul "unelectable."
As with all propaganda, the basic idea is that if it is repeated often enough on officially sanctioned stages, it will eventually be accepted as "true."
Our Christmas-New Year's week of family visits took us to homes where the television is on all the time, and as a result I was exposed to the Ministry of Propaganda's preferred media, TV "news." Regardless of the channel or program, the message was the same: "The presidential race will between Obama and either Romney or Gingrich."
Despite the polls that find Paul and Romney with equal levels of support in Iowa, Romney has been declared the front-runner and Paul written off as "unelectable."
In other words, the voters don't even need to check in; the Ministry of Propaganda's army of toadies, lackeys and media apparatchiks have their marching orders: repeat that Ron Paul is unelectable at every opportunity, either explicitly or implicitly via leaving him off the list of "frontrunners."
The Ministry of Propaganda's campaign is easily revealed by two simple thought experiments. How would the corporate media characterize Newt Gingrich's "electability" if he was running neck-and-neck with Romney? Answer: the media toadies would be falling over each other to declare Gingrich "electable."
Now repeat the experiment with Rick Santorum or Michelle Bachmann. The answer is the same: since these candidates are on the list of Power-Elites approved stooges, a showing equal to Ron Paul's would instantly win them veritable tsunamis of media coverage, all focused on their eminent "electability."
Here is the second thought experiment: does anyone seriously think any of the Republicrat candidates are even remotely qualified to deal with the crises brewing on the horizon? What exactly makes them "electable"?
Let's consider them one at a time, scrubbed of spin, PR and propaganda:
Mitt Romney: the perfect player for a remake of "The Stepford Wives" entitled "The Stepford Politicos." Romney is the personification of the telegenic, wealthy empty suit, devoid of any ideas beyond retreads of Status Quo tweaks that leave the Power Elite--of which he is a member--safely in charge.
Romney's "electability" rests on the hopes that the hard drives from his time as governor stay safely erased and that zombified voters conclude that having a family and membership in a church are sufficient qualifications for President.
His handlers have carefully studied the political satire The Candidate and have not yet formulated an answer to the question, "What do we do now?" should the wealthy pawn of the Power Elite improbably win the presidency.
Michelle Bachmann: Imagine her wearing a witch's hat, it isn't hard to do; Bachmann is the ideal Wicked Witch of the West, but without the charisma. She does have a host of frightful winged monkeys, though--her handlers.
Newt Gingrich: Gingrich has a number of redeeming characteristics, starting with his famously unsavory "baggage" that reveals an appealingly flawed core. He is also the only Republicrat candidate that wouldn't bore you to despair within a few minutes, i.e. he actually strays from the canned scripts approved by the Ministry of Propaganda. Third, on occasion he actually reveals glimmers of awareness that the next 10 years will not be like the previous decade, and that America is at a critical crossroads.
Unfortunately, his canned ideology-as-"solution" ideas expired a decade ago and he has no coherent vision of a future that isn't just a slightly modified version of the Power-Elite dominated one that is now hurtling toward instability.
He has shown a remarkable ability, however, to hide his horns and forked tail.
Rick Perry: Another telegenic empty suit who hoped that having a family and membership in a church qualified him for the presidency.
Rick Santorum: Rick's ruthlessness has its charm, starting with his long and painful campaign to establish a simulacrum of intellectual "seriousness." Like all the other stooges, his version of "the vision thing" is a tepid edit of the Status Quo. Like all the stooges other than the refreshingly flawed Gingrich, he hopes membership in a church qualifies him for the presidency.
What all the candidates but Ron Paul dare not acknowledge because it isn't on the approved Ministry of Propaganda script is that the Status Quo is heading off a cliff at the direct behest of the nation's Power Elite. The only candidate that has "the vision thing" and that clearly enunciates exactly how the Power Elite's policies have led the nation off a cliff of insolvency and Imperial hubris is Ron Paul.
For this sin against the Status Quo and its Power Elite, Paul has been excommunicated, and the (pardon my language) smarmy army of corporate media whores cannot declare him "unelectable" often enough.
That is proof that he is highly electable, for otherwise the Ministry of Propaganda wouldn't be running a campaign of such transparent desperation.

A plea to those who are on the fence about Ron Paul..
If you want more of the same from Washington, please vote for Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich. If you want to maintain the Federal Reserve’s power to print money out of thin air, fueling inflation at the cost of your savings, vote Romney or Gingrich. If you want an already bankrupt nation to keep supporting the status quo of overspending, stripping us of individual liberty, and impoverishing the middle class, vote Romney or Gingrich.
How do I know that Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich will perpetuate the status quo of overspending and corruption? It is very simple. Their campaign financiers are a matter of public record. The same people that financed Barrack Obama’s victory in 2008 are also financing Mitt Romney’s campaign this time around. Here is a list of the top 7 PAC’s donating to Romney: No. 1, Goldman Sachs, No. 2 Citigroup, No. 3 Merrill Lynch, No. 4 Morgan Stanley, No. 5 Lehman Brothers, No. 6 UBS, No. 7 JP Morgan Chase. No surprise here, all banks, all banks responsible for causing the financial collapse in 2007, and all banks that have posted record profits attributed to the demise of the US economy. It is also no secret that Newt Gingrich takes money from anyone and everyone who wants him to do something for them. He also took money from me and you via the completely corrupt and defunct Freddie Mac.
You have to ask yourself, should the people responsible for creating a global economic meltdown and then looting us via bailouts and “quantitative easing” be choosing our President for us? You also have to ask yourself, why do these candidates get so much coverage and Ron Paul doesn’t? Is it because Ron Paul’s ideas of ending the Federal Reserve or the Department of Education are “loony”? Or, is it because Ron Paul represents a REAL end to BIG CRONY GOVERNMENT? Reagan promised to end the Department of Education during his run for President in 1980 and he won! John F. Kennedy actually drafted legislation to strip the Federal Reserve of its power to print money out of thin air in 1963, with Executive Order 11110 as well, and this was done during his Presidency!
Of course these ideas would seem crazy, however, to a government addicted to devaluing the dollar and a government dedicated to expanding itself at any cost. But in reality, Ron Paul’s ideas are the only sane ones being presented in any of the debates. Wanting to end foreign aid to countries all over the world is only crazy if you are one of the few elite that actually reap the benefits of bribing dictators with our tax dollars. Of course the establishment calls Ron Paul an anti-Semite for wanting to end foreign aid to Israel, it’s a twisted lie. Yes, Ron Paul wants to end foreign aid to Israel, but he wants to end foreign aid to Israel’s enemies as well. Our government gives more money to enemies of Israel than it does to Israel. Does that make any sense whatsoever?!
The only reason that Mainstream media ignores Ron Paul is because his ideas are so powerful that any coverage of them is positive coverage. Therefore, he is marginalized, treated as if he can’t win, as if he’s crazy, and no one should pay him any mind. But there is one thing that the Mainstream did not count on, and that is you and I becoming informed. They want us to remain complacent and apathetic and simply vote for the establishment puppet that they tell us to vote for and maintain their corrupt grip on this country. Nevertheless we, as a country, are waking up from our decade’s long slumber that has allowed fraud and crony politics to take over.
Freedom is contagious and once the ember is lit in the wheat field of autocracy it spreads like wildfire; not through force or occupation, but through intellect and the proof of prosperity that freedom creates. Right now is a great time to be alive; we have a chance to reverse the demise of our country. You and I have the ability to create and take part in, the Second American Revolution, this time, fought with information and a lesser ignorance instead of violence. You and I can do our first part in the revolution right now and that is cast your vote for someone who will truly effect REAL CHANGE in this country through fiscal discipline and action instead of promising lies or disgorging their teleprompter fed rhetoric. Vote Ron Paul 2012 and be on the right side of history!
OT Politico has a poll for who will win Todays Iowa caucus etc, ya all know the drill. Bottom right hand side.

That LOSER bill orielly again said on his show last night that Ron Paul is not electable. Bill is showing his true colors that he is part of the lame stream media. Soon bill will be like all the other alphabet channels and rank right up there with maddow olberman and Schultz. What a team that would be! Seriously, who the hell is orielly to tell us who is electable. Bill does not understand that if Paul wins the nomination, EVERYONE will vote for Paul.
8/10 people prefer Ron Paul. Too bad the MSM does not.
Same spin appears everywhere: Ron Paul is unelectable, if Republicans are smart they will choose Mitt Romney (who just happens to be the darling of the bankers and other kleptocrats).
But Romney isn't even a Republican. He is a RINO. Obamacare is just a thinly disguised version of Romneycare. Who cares whether Obama or Romney wins? They are practically indistinguishable.
The only difference is that since Romney predends to be a Republican, Congress might be somewhat more willing to back his spending programs. So in that sense, Obama is preferable to Romney.
You know, this is actually funny.
Romney is a liberal democrat (note romneycare) trying to pretend he is a conservative republican.
Obama is a fascist neo-con republican (note endless wars and bankster bailouts) trying to pretend he is a liberal democrat.
No wonder regular folks who don't think very deeply are confused.
Of course in actual fact, Romney and Obama and everyone else running for president and congress are actually just elitist predators in disingenuous clothing.

The Drudge Report has a poll with Ron eking out a win over romney. Even though it's just for fun, you should all drop by and give our man Dr. Paul a little sugar.

I am starting to come around to the idea that none of the Ministries of Propaganda want to see anyone but Obama in the White House come January 2013, lest the Republicans lose their favorite boogeyman, and the ability to stack the legislatures with their own before installing Sir Holy Shit! in a landslide in 2016. I haven’t been following the election, since the state I used to live in has closed primaries, but broke down and watched some video that I received.
The video was a bunch of naive republicans from Iowa doing their civic duty and talking about “electability”. That was utter BS in 2008, and it is utter BS today. They tried that one with that senile fart McClown (who voted for the NDDA because “torture doesn’t work”) - the cliché attributed to Einstein comes to mind. The Republicans could have run anyone in 2008 Don Rumsfeld or Don King, Ron Paul or RuPaul – THEY WOULD HAVE LOST. Regardless of whether one traces history with a circle or sine-wave the outcome was known before the candidates were. It shouldn’t be surprising Obama changed his mind and jumped in the race- all he had to do was beat the “inevitable” Hillary in primary.
Romney may be an “inevitable” candidate in 2012, but it is just as “inevitable” that he will be a loser in 2012, either in the primaries, or in the general. Bain wasn’t a hedge fund when he built it, it was an LBO chop-shop. Romney’s competition for the nomination may be utterly clueless about Wall Street actually works, but even with Rahm gone, the bumbling bench warmers have to be salivating at this opportunity - to tea bag the opposition on national television in a way not possible since the last time the republicans put a pretty-boy wunderkind on the ticket. Fortunately for Danny-boy, and H.W., Quayle only to go one round with Lloyd Benson.
The republitards putting a Barbarian from Bain on the ticket, and ignoring the really big “hint” that is the existence of the TP&OWS makes demofools videotaping Dukakass in a military helmet and riding on tank seem downright brilliant. The democrats don’t even need to go their A-Team propagandists, such as Michael Moore, who could execute the hit job in his sleep, without pulling the Cheetos out of his pie hole. However, if they really wanted to go all-out, the would get Oliver Stone, who could probably bring Michael Douglas and Martin Sheen along for a real Wall Street encore… How hard do the republicans think it is going to be for the opposition to locate some poor soul whose pension or savings got the LBO shaft in Bain’s search for profit? What is Romney going to do- give the Gordon Gekko “greed is good” speech complete with some jobs created (or saved) derivation of, “in the last seven deals that I've been involved with, there were 2.5 million stockholders who have made a pretax profit of 12 billion dollars…”
The US has only had four years of Obummer, regardless of whether it can survive another four years, it is not desperate enough (yet) to elect an LBO banker to cannibalize what’s left of the American State and sell it off to the highest bidder and leave the American People holding the bag. The US may not be ready to elect Ron Paul, but it is utterly simplistic to think that Mitt RoMoney is an inherently more viable candidate in a general election.
It also demonstrates that the lessons of the 1980’s junk bond boom and bust, 1987 stock market crash, and the corporate off shoring and cannibalization fads were never learned by the broader populace. But then again, swap China for Japan, Sovereign junk for Corporate junk, rinse, repeat and you have the formula for the next two decades. Perhaps Einstein was right, and the broader populace is insane… perhaps I should just go to one of the US MSM re-education camps before they get nationalized by FEMA…

I talked to ten people today and everybody except a solitary Obama supporter said they were going to caucus for RP tonite. It could be a landslide if it doesn't get stole
and here i could have sworn he's already won 11 elections to date...?
Paul Wins Questionable Election
Iowa: Texas Congressman Ron Paul won the Iowa caucus last night with 29% of the vote amid calls for a fresh election from disappointed candidates. As has been reported earlier, OWS protesters have promised to hack the election results and many veteran poll watchers believe that they have done just that.
Bob Doller, an investment banker and Romney supporter put it this way, "Mitt Romney has outspent this field by millions and has saturated the airwaves for months, it seems clear to me that the results were tainted."
Terry Stalin, who worked at the secret vote counting location was equally incredulous, "we've planned on a big Romney victory for months now. We can only fudge the results just so much, ya know. I mean where did all these Paul voters come from?"
GOP officials are meeting tonight to dicuss the possibility of invalidating last evening's results.
That's crazy enough to be plausible.
A glitch in the matrix is emerging.
There's nothing crazy about it at all. All of the past three national elections have been quite suspect.
Not because of the results, but just because the process appears to be in shambles. One state outta 50 fucks something up and it's a total free-for-all.
Ah, so this is what they mean by innovative policies. In the old days (or in other parts of the world), in order to get a party candidate in office, you intimidate counterparty voters from coming out, miscount the votes themselves, or pay off swing groups to vote in a particular way. The US ruling oligarchy has found that those forms of control are far too transparent, too easily recognizable, and too trackable in retrospect. Instead, they deceive the voters from the outset, planting in their mind which candidates are best and worst. Through the portrayal of candidates on "mainstream" "legitimate" "well-respected" outlets, bankers can insert their leader into the massive unchanging bureauocrazy that makes them their money. THat way the election doesn't need to be miscounted or to engage in overt fraud--the initially suggestible and later misinformed/ignorant populace can me made to vote "legitmately" for the pre-chosen candidate. BRILLIANT!
This whole thing is REALLY starting to piss me off! Ron Paul 2012! I won't be able to say it enough!
Ron Paul gets my vote.
My wife just changed her party affiliation to Republican solely to vote for Ron Paul in the Florida primary.
yes the rockefeller-mic-yale-cia cabal was out full force sunday, especially on pbs and fox, declaring paul dead and the romney as the only logical choice....
mitt the liar/fraud/shredder/ romney is the bob dole of 2012 but of a much more filthy variety....
Larry Kudlow has not even mentioned Ron Paul in his coverage.
Rhino Republicrat guests (and Bob Lutz, GM dolt, son of a Swiss Banker, un-fucking believable) talking about how great Romney would be for business.
Trumpeting Rick Santorum all of a sudden. You have got to be kidding me.
OMFG - graphic showing Romney 23% and Ron Paul 22% so Larry had to FINALLY mention Ron Paul's name!
Bet the Twitter stream to talk about Paul finally convinced him or his producer to utter the name "Ron Paul".
False Flag Rick Santorum pumping to sink anyone but Mitt Zombie...omg...this is so maudlin.
Pitiful.
ZHers pls go vote for RP
Liveblogging tonight's caucus. Not a huge Ron Paul for President fan though. Too conspiratorial for my tastes. Think his foreign policy is dangerous as well...
http://cumgranosalisdossetto.blogspot.com/2012/01/liveblogging-iowa-cauc...
We have a veritable host of other Republican candidates who are just ITCHING to send the bombs raining down on a nation which has NEVER threatened us (and in whose internal affairs the US has been meddling for over half a century) and start yet another unprovoked, unnecessary war ---- or even, God forbid, push the nuclear button --- and you worry about RON PAUL'S non-interventionist foreign policy? Are you AWAKE?
You know, just because US military forces are engaged in action, or occupation, in dozens of locations and bases around the world does NOT automatically mean that those actions or occupations constitute honest or real "defense" of the USA --- in fact, the vast majority of them do NOT, and are nothing but naked OFFENSE which actually undermines the true security of the USA! Ron Paul is by far the STRONGEST candidate on defense, because he understands the difference between defense and naked, neo-imperialist aggression --- as well as the fact that the latter is NOT in the best interests of this nation or its people, but only furthers the interests of certain military contractors who profit by it, and the sociopathic lust for power of perverted and manipulative warmongers.
Funny, the Jesus who I learned about in Sunday school, and read about in the Bible, never taught "Blessed are the warmakers ...." But those most filled with hate, aggression and lust for war call themselves "good Christians".
This country is insane.
+1 akak
Funny, the Jesus who I learned about in Sunday school, and read about in the Bible, never taught "Blessed are the warmakers ...."...
The US, as I understand it, is no longer a "christian" nation. The Christian church exists to administer the sacraments of initiation, (baptism) and continued participation, (communion). The only other sacrament entrusted is the voluntary administration of the sacrament of "marriage".
The state may recognize the legal union of human/"same sex", human/animal or even human/inanimate object, this arrangement has no bearing on the "church".
The "church" is the software, the state is the hardware. The church cares not a whit, (other than it breaks the heart of God), what kind of operating system a person chooses to program into the hardware.
Personally, I believe there is an appropriate designed program that will allow the hardware to perform optimally, but even the apostles and Christ Himself will not force an individual to download the divine program.
As for "warmakers", Jesus Himself said "“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword"- Matt 10:34.
imho.
We saved Britain and France in WWI and WWII without 100's of bases all over the world sucking billion upon billion of taxpayer money and feeding it to the World gratis.
We now have nuclear subs, carriers, and drones.
The military industrial complex can go on a diet.
Ron Paul 2012 means less government, less debt, more freedom, more peace.
I am no supporter of Republicans, Democrats, or any other brand of fascist. That being said, Ron Paul may be, in fact, unelectable. At Zerohedge, we inhabit a world of people raised with computers, comfortable on the internet, accustomed to searching for information that we deem important. Ron Paul can poll well in Iowa, in a small caucus state, where a band of yound diehards can carry the day, but in a general election, nationally as well as in most states, he will run headlong into the boomers and the seniors, two generation spoonfed information for their entire adult lives on television and radio: prompted to vote in numbers by pattern, habit, and tradition for whomever they are instructed to vote. The internet, libertarian/anarchist generation, while becoming numerous enough to unseat their fascist parents, are too disorganized, too poor, too poorly educated, and too apathetic to break the unified will of the boomers. Like it or not, America is the boomers country. They are of one mind (whether Democrat or Republican), and they will not stop sucking the marrow of liberty from the nation until the last of it is gone.
A lot of "boomers" thought they were voting for the reincarnation of Martin Luther King, and wound up with "Uncle Tom!" Time to eat some (Jim) Crow!
If you voted for Obamatron in 2008 to prove you weren't a racist, who're ya gonna vote for this year to prove you're not an Idiot?
TPTB fooled you once before by steering your choice to Obamatron, and NOW YOU'RE GONNA VOTE FOR ROMNEYLAN -- WTF?
THIS JUST IN:
Accoding to the fat fuck Karl Rove, Romney (who couldn't win a one man jerk-off contest in a room full of hookers) is running neck and neck with the pederast Paul and Jesus' little brother has 'em right where he wants 'em.
Long golden plates.
"Here is the second thought experiment: does anyone seriously think any of the Republicrat candidates are even remotely qualified to deal with the crises brewing on the horizon? What exactly makes them "electable"?"
Here's a better thought experiment: explain why Paul is any more "qualified to deal with the crises brewing on the horizon", rather than rehashing the obvious, even famous shortcomings of Repubelickin' 'competitiors'. For example, what is his plan for the rapidly approaching end of cheap energy? So he wants to end the Fed. Great, but that devolves power of the purse to Congress, which seems to me to increase of fuckedednesss, not reduce it. So what's the point?
Simply stating that your favorite candidate is slightly less useless than the swarm of losers surrounding him (or her, in rare cases) is not increasing their "electability" except for the already convinced. It's also the depth of thought and analysis that we already get from the MSM.
All of you are letting your support for Ron Paul and your hatred of the establishment to cloud your view of electability. Is there any doubt that he's unelectable to the broader electorate? This is the same electorate that voted for Obama, a man with no experience at doing anything at all based on fancy slogans and fancy empty speeches.
You can be a Paul supporter and admit he's not electable. That's not necessarily a knock on Paul.

Well the chips are in, and the election is stolen.
It took a lot to kill Ron Paul, with my estimated margin of preference for Paul running over 30 percent absent statistical rigging, and others such as Drudge having him at 30 percent, Iowa WAS a slam dunk.
We have all been convinced over the years that people often change their minds the moment before they enter the polls, and THAT is why election results can be so unpredictable, but even if you believe people flop about in their beliefs and preferences like fish out of water, it does not wash in the case of Ron Paul.
We all know, - at least anyone who hits this site should know, that the type of people who support Ron Paul are firm in their convictions and will not flip flop on issues and between candidates. If Ron Paul lost in Iowa, this election was stolen, pure and simple.
