Momentarily Stepping Back From The Trees To Show These Two Charts Of The Forest
Every time we get too bogged down by details, minutae, nuances, footnotes, rumors, lies, or, at the very bottom of the bullshit pyramid, Eurocrat promises, and think that maybe, just maybe, there is a way to fix the mess we are in, we take a quick look at what is in store (most recently recapped by Deutsche Bank in the form of the following two charts) and quickly realize that all concerns about a happy ending have been for nothing.

Looks like Congress basically said "Up Yours" to the deficit, as pointed out by Rasputin today:
............................
Yet another example of "We don't need no steenkin' rules!"; this one from Congressional Thugs.

Heh, I pity the fool who still believes in the quaint notion of "rules", or laws, or even boundaries of good taste for that matter.
Because, as I have pointed many a time, and as is evidenced here:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-06-25/congress-said-to-delay-automatic-budget-cuts-until-march.html
...there simply is NO legislation, or promise, that can't be broken at the whim of the Alpha Thugs in charge.
In this instance, the article refers to the "Automatic Spending Cuts" that were to kick in at the beginning of 2013.
These automatic "everybody loses a hand" austerity measures were themselves the result of PRIOR legislation, created by Congress when they also spun up the "Super Duper Committee" that was supposed to take a "hard line" on spending cuts, but couldn't even so much as pass one, single slice to the budget--hence the "automatic" cuts were supposed to do the dirty work that the Congressional Thugs refused to do.
Well, with the "fiscal cliff" of these budget cuts (along with the expiration of the Bush tax giveaways also taking place, simultaneously) rapidly approaching, the Alphas are in a panic, and are now discussing ways to weasel out of such "horrid" actions as actually not spending nearly a trillion fiatscos per year on "defense", or giving hundreds of billions of foreign aid to countries that hate us.
(Ras Conclusion): Along with Infinite Fiat comes the advantage of Infinite Rule Changes, and the Alpha Pigs in charge will bend every law, precedent, and other "impediment" that gets in their way to keeping power--and the GUMS ignorant.
Of course, the Alphas need not worry about the sheeple taking to the streets. For, the GUMS couldn't care less about such "trivialities" as our multi-trillion-fiatsco yearly deficits. Because the lambs are all focused on how many "brats and brews" they are gonna suck down next week, during the Fourth of July food orgy...er..."holiday".
LOL.
