Monti Forms Technocratic Government Which He Will Lead And Be Finance Minister

Tyler Durden's picture

Looking why the EURUSD has just gone berserk? Here is the reason - another barrage of flashing red headlines out of Italy:

  • MONTI ACCEPTS OFFER TO FORM ITALIAN GOVERNMENT
  • MONTI ANNOUNCES CABINET MEMBERS
  • MARIO MONTI TELLS PRESIDENT HE WILL LEAD NEW ITALIAN GOVERNMENT
  • MARIO MONTI TO BE FINANCE MINISTER IN NEW GOVERNMENT
  • INTESA CEO PASSERA NAMED ITALY DEVELOPMENT, TRANSPORT MINISTER
  • MONTI NAMES GNUDI MINISTER
  • MONTI NAMES PIERO GIARDA MINISTER
  • MONTI NAMES NAMES PASSERA MINISTER

Yet across the Alps this is the only headline that matters:

  • MERKEL ECB DOESN'T HAVE OPTION TO SOLVE EURO PROBLEMS

Another Goldman Sachs boys calling the shots!

Wow!  We're in great hands--once again.

I bet he throws a terrific fuck party.

Anyway, good night, ladies.

I'm so disgusted that I must go to bed.

Excellent.  Now just the small matter of explaining to the nation why he wants them to endure a decade or two of penury to save the Euro.

What could possibly go wrong?

Dear vegas,

Thank you for your interest in joining my cabinet as "Minister of Truth". Unfortunately, this position is under review pending confirmation by the Italian Senate of another candidate.

Your Associates Degree from St. Norbert's of Nebraska with emphasis in anger management is admirable, but what we really need is someone who can turn base metals into gold. If you can do this, please don't hesitate to get back with me.

Caio,

mm

Italian style Corruption in government from day one.

Monti himself taking the finance minister position, holding the bag of money, his friend( or some ally), Ceo of Intesa which is one of the the biggest holding companies in Italy will be in charge for ministry of transportation..

Seriously? Monti names the current active CEO of Italy's second largest bank?

That's orders of magnitude more nepotistic than the GS/treasury/fed love triangle.

I guess with Unicredit and Intesa about to explode, the tosser will need a new job.

FYI: from the Market Ticker, ABC, and Jonathan Sugarman

ALBERICI:

“How certain are you that UniCredit broke the law while you were there?”

JONATHAN SUGARMAN:

“A hundred per cent certain and to use the Irish expression, ‘to be sure, to be sure’ that is why I brought in this London based IT company which had a very good reputation in Dublin and the result was pretty horrific because whereas the breach that I’d reported to the regulator was a breach of twenty per cent, whereas the permissible deviation was one per cent, they rang me up one evening soon after they tied into our systems, linked into our systems and said your breach is actually forty per cent”.
