More On The Undisclosed Netflix SEC Investigation
Earlier today, we noted that according to Disclosure Insight, it appears that following a response to a FOIA request, the SEC has disclosed that the video streaming company may be involved in some form of regulatory investigation commenced at a point in time after November 10, 2010, which has not been previously disclosed by Netflix itself. Following a flurry of requests to demonstrate just what an SEC response looks like in a situation such as this, below we present the formal response from the SEC, which contrary to what most people think, is more than just a regional athletic conference and sometimes also pretends to regulate criminal activity and other types of fraud.

It's not like Netflix, being the non-proprietary, zero (or near zero) cost barrier to entry business, which doesn't own the infrastructure its very core service depends on (just like GRPN), is desperate, or anything:

And this is why integer regulation actually matters (after all, if you want people to play according to a set of gamerules, no matter how simple they are.... you need some infrastructure (which doesn't need to be centrally controlled BTW) to take care of that.

Well, i'm not that hot on "diplomacy", and actually am pretty bad at it. But i guess i for whatever reason espect a tiny part of it - and your response was pretty far from that.
But since you asked for more detail, here's how i see it.
In theoretical utopia:
ANY kind of economic system - doesn't even matter what style of it, depends at least on a small set of gamerules.
Those gamerules do not neccessarily need to be judged by a centralized institution, or even a gov.... but without those gamerules, you simply get an *arbitary* economy, which is to say: it may at any time turn out to be anything - including what you have today...... there simply in this case is no guideline at all about how economy is suppused to work like.
So, regulation - even if it works entirely different (possibly so different, that people here wouldn't recognize it as regulation anymore) can be benefical.
But since the mechanism that deals with regulation has a lot of power, it can just as well be abused to achieve..... at worst, to biggest enemy of what that regulation was supposed to achive. That especially is probable to happen in the current system.
And my response to that was: Given the current shit that regulators do, it may be better if they just watch tranny porn - it may not result in a "desirable" economy, but it would be "less bad" that what we have now.
