Negative Salaries, Negative Bailout And Now Negative Gold - Greece Just Became The Bankster's Paradise

Tyler Durden's picture

While Iceland is now known as the country that is the closest earthly approximation to banker hell, it is safe to say that Greece is the terrestrial equivalent of banker heaven. Because as explained earlier today, the country's population is about to get a worse deal than your average run of the mill slave - they may get whipped, but at least never have to pay for the privilege, unlike the Greeks. Hence negative salaries. As also explained, the European bailout of Greece, is now formally a Greek bailout of Europe, funded by the country's already negative primary surplus, or better said - deficit (don't try to make mathematical sense of that - a scene out of Scanners is guaranteed). Hence, negative bailout. But the piece de resistance, and the reason why Greece is the in situ version of bankster heaven is the news from the NYT that Greece is also about to have negative gold.

Ms. Katseli, an economist who was labor minister in the government of George Papandreou until she left in a cabinet reshuffle last June, was also upset that Greece’s lenders will have the right to seize the gold reserves in the Bank of Greece under the terms of the new deal.

Well, they may be broke, and they may be bailing out Europe, but at least they'll have no gold: sounds like a sweet deal - it makes perfect sense that Greeks are taking every incremental humiliation from a syndicate of few fat, bald types who have access to a digital money printer, with the supine determination of an Oliver Twist.

If Greece said F you and just defaulted they would be back in the Drachma but not having to pay the debt and businesses would flock to Greece because of the low wages compared ot Euro countries.  They aren't being allowed because the leaders are bought and paid for by the EU and ECB.  Watch out though, this may come to the US in the near future.

Of course it make sense!, now, instead of ECB put FED, instead of € put $, and instead of Germans, put Americans, the scheme is EXACTLY THE SAME ONE!.

What will happen now, Europe, having a world class currency used as commonly as dollar will do the same...export your problem...latinamericans, asians, all will pay for the problem, as americans has being doing with a dollar that today  is 30 times less than 40 years ago.

In the U.S case all the countries in the world has being paying for the inflation that Fed has been creating for 50 years, now is Europe turn to do the same, with a difference with Americans, we are not kicking the can to our gransons, we are trying to arrange things so... let´s them pay at least for once.

Hmmmm... Given the fact that Greeks have a solid tradition of anarchist and ultra-left-wing movements, some shooting may not be too far away.

I believe that when the Police and the Army starts disobeying orders (and that, too, may be pretty close) then things are going to get REALLY interesting in that country.

And remember the Greek motto is "Liberty or Death"... : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleftheria_i_thanatos

New Waitress.....Jill Clayburgh
Male Customer.....Garrett Morris
Female Customer.....Gilda Radner
Benefit Lady.....Jane Curtin

[A busy diner owned by the blustering, mustachioed Pete Dionasopolis. He rings up a sale on his cash register. Greek music plays quietly in the background throughout the sketch. The phone rings and Pete answers:]

Pete: [into phone] Hello, Olympia Cafe! ... [yells to George, the cook] Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

Pete: [into phone] No. No fries, chips. ... [yells to Nico, the counterman] Four chip!

Nico: Four chip!

Pete: [into phone] What to drink? No Coke. Pepsi. ... [yells to Nico] Four Pepsi!

Nico: Four Pepsi!

Pete: [into phone] All right.

[Sandy, the stern, dark-haired waitress is training an awkward new employee.]

Sandy: [to the new waitress] Just do what I do, huh? [demonstrates what to say to the others] Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Three chip!

New Waitress: Three chip!

Sandy: Three Pepsi!

New Waitress: Three Pepsi!

Nico: Three chip! Three Pepsi!

Male Customer: [paying his bill, to Pete at the cash register] I see that you are training another new waitress again.

Pete: [making change] Yeah. But she won't stay. They all want money! You know? Even him! [indicates Nico who stands by, grinning stupidly] I bring him over from Greece. I give him free food. A nice place to sleep in the back. But, even now, he's always asking for money! Ehh! [pushes Nico back to work] Come on, get out of here.

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Two chip!

New Waitress: Two chip!

Sandy: Two Pepsi!

New Waitress: Two Pepsi!

Nico: Two chip! Two Pepsi!

Female Customer: [sitting at counter, to Pete] Hey, uh, I'm almost done. I, uh, better order that stuff to go.

Pete: Ah! I like you. You eat fast. All right, what to go?

Female Customer: Um, I want a cheeseburger, Pepsi and a bag of chips.

Pete: [yells] Cheeseburger! Pepsi! Chip!

George: Cheeseburger!

Nico: Pepsi! Chip!

Pete: Sandy! C'mere!

Sandy: [Pete exits as Sandy stands at the cash register with the new waitress who hangs up her coat before Sandy explains the system] Okay, when Pete goes, you have to stand by the cash register but don't touch it. Pete is the only one to touch the cash register, huh?

Benefit Lady: [enters with placard, goes to counter, talks to Nico] Hi! Uh, we're having a benefit for the Tagart twins -- you know, the little boys that ate the balloon -- and I was wondering if I could put this poster in your window. [Nico doesn't understand a word she's saying but nods anyway] I can? [Nico shrugs, the benefit lady is delighted] Oh!

Nico: [to the benefit lady] Cheeseburger?

Female Customer: [to the benefit lady] Look, um, he doesn't understand English. All he knows is "Cheeseburger" ...

Nico: [to female customer] Cheeseburger?

Female Customer: [George brings her order in a bag] Oh, hi, George, look, uh, I wanna tell you this joke, okay? [indicates Nico] Oh, tell him too -- it's real funny. Um, this guy says to the owner of a restaurant ... [George translates in Greek to Nico] Uh, I got some bad news for you and some worse news ... [George translates] Uh, the bad news is ... [George translates] ... that there's a fly in my soup ... [George translates] Uh, the worse news is ... [George translates] It's the best part of the meal! ... [An amused George translates the punch-line but Nico doesn't understand so George repeats it. Nico still doesn't get it, shrugs apologetically. George gives up, gestures to the customer that Nico is not too bright, hands her her order, and heads back to the grill.] Thank you. [rises, pays at register, and exits]

Sandy: [phone rings, Sandy picks up, speaks into phone] Olympia Cafe. ... To go? Okay. ... [yells] Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Two chip! Two Pepsi!

Nico: Two chip! Two Pepsi!

Pete: [returns, shoos Sandy and the new waitress away] All right, come on, come on, come on, come on, let's go, come on, move, come on!

Benefit Lady: [to Pete] Hi! Um, we're having a benefit and I was wondering if I could put this poster in your window.

Pete: Sure. Five dollars.

Benefit Lady: No! No, no, no, you don't understand. It's a benefit.

Pete: [upset] Look, you come in here, you don't even buy something, you want me to put something in the window?!

Benefit Lady: Oh, okay, I'll buy something, I'll buy something.

Pete: Okay, what'll you have?

Benefit Lady: Uh, I'll have a club sandwich and a tea.

Pete: No club, no tea. Cheeseburger.

Benefit Lady: Okay, I'll have a cheeseburger, well done.

Pete: All right, cheeseburger. What to drink?

Benefit Lady: Ah, no tea?

Pete: No tea. Pepsi.

Benefit Lady: Ah, do you have root beer?

Pete: No. No root beer. Pepsi.

Benefit Lady: Grape. Do you have--?

Pete: Pepsi!!

Benefit Lady: I don't think I want anything to drink, thanks.

Pete: Okay, tea. [quickly pours her a tea]

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Sandy: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

Pete: [upset, to the new waitress] Hey, hey, yo! Hey, you! You don't say it right! Okay? Listen. [with Greek accent, spoken quickly and without pronouncing the "s"] Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Pete: Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger!

Pete: No, no. Cheeseburger!

George: [thinks an order is being made] Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

[Pete, George, and the new waitress all yell "Cheeseburger" back and forth, faster and faster, until the waitress explodes in fury:]

New Waitress: [throws her ticket book] I can't stand this place! [runs behind register to grab her coat] It's, like, nuts! I'm just getting out of this place! This is crazy! [grabs coat] Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

New Waitress: [keeps ranting] Pepsi! Chip!

Nico: Pepsi! Chip!

New Waitress: [putting on coat] Cheeseburger! Pepsi!

George: Cheeseburger!

Nico: Pepsi!

Benefit Lady: [trying to calm her] Hey, it's okay! It's okay! Everything's gonna be fine now. [to the employees, who watch dispassionately] Can somebody get her a glass of water?

Pete: No water. Pepsi.

Benefit Lady: All right, a Pepsi!

Pete: One Pepsi! [But Nico merely stands there, watching the distressed waitress until Pete hits him several times with a menu] Pepsi! Pepsi! Pepsi! Come on!

Nico: Pepsi!

Sandy: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

George: Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!

[We end on the image of numerous burger patties sizzling on George's grill.]

Most greeks have been successfully christianized a long time ago...

There are some left who still practice the old polytheistic way of life, but they are few.

I am atheist. But I must say I would strangely prefer it if all greeks who now believe in the christian god, would rather believe in the twelve old gods .

Because: of all sheep, the christian sheep are the most conditioned to be slaves...

May have to do with the master/slave, gain/sacrifice theme... and in general bipolar thinking... being the primary theme of christianity.... or perhaps actually ANY monotheistic religion (god == good, so if there is only one god, what is left is bipolar morality... either you're for him, or against him, and every aspect of life has to fit this bipolar choice).

Disclaimer: I too do not believe in any religion, though i do *not* consider "spirituality" in a generic sense useless or counterproductive, as long as it overally doesn't increase contradictions.

(To explain the later: I could watch TV and learn something about what the ministry of truth wants to tell me.... or i could watch my own dreams/mind and learn something about myself. In neither of both cases, i need to blindly believe that the "show" is "true".... yet, i'd claim that the later offers more useful inspiration for thought....  more variety too, if the goal is only amusement.... and no commercial breaks)

You managed by pure cultural (or "traditional") biases to keep one of the things that have been abolished in the rest of civilization controlled by your overloads. Yet at the same time, precisely this will be the justification to not "hold back" on lethal means. If/when the USA revolts, it will for individuals be the most gory place to be..... despite of you in terms of physical power having the upper hand.... or ironically, precisely because of this.

Whenever i see a "truthful" USA citizen, i'm catched in a double-bind.... on the one hand, i admire her/his courage, on the other hand i fear him/her just becoming cannon fodder among the masses. This mainly was the reason, why i did admire AND pity "Ms. ZH" a while ago.

The Greeks have been in default 50% of the time for the last 200 years.  They've proven themselves to be risky borrowers and tax evaders on a large and long time scale.

Good luck Troika getting their gold -- the Greeks aren't just going to hand it over and say "You're right, we lied about paying all these loans back.  Here, take our gold."  Very unlikely.

However, I'm sure the second bailout was contingent upon this being included in the terms.

We've rejected the current system. The masks have fallen: we know the media is complicit; we know all the political parties are in on the scam.

If the gold is not on Greek soil (which has been speculated for some time before this announcement), we're fucked anyway.

We're not happy campers. We might start some camp fires and toast bankers and politicians on sticks.

There really is not much more to say after reading this story on the loss of Greek gold.

Either the Greek people uphold their dignity and tell the Banskster Cartell to go to hell, or sucumb to the new blue print of debt slavery.

The present Greek and unelected  government needs to fall and new elections scheduled immediately.

Either you are the biggest liar on the planet or the stupidest idiot on it...which one is the case?

the r of something you say to its being wrong is 1.0

From the paper itself,  " Templer & Arikawa (2006) also found that average IQ correlated significantly with average skin darkness (r = ?0.92)."

and the results of infectious diseases, "Log DALY owing to infectious disease and average national IQ correlated at r = ?0.82"

Correct me if I'm wrong, Cliff (yeah, RIGHT), but .92>.82.  Negative IQ correlates more strongly with skin darkness than with infectious diseases.

BESIDES, a correlation is not a cause.  The REASON that infectious diseases correlate so well with negative IQ is because stupid people tend to get more of them.  Their lifestyle habits make them disease prone.  It's the same reason low IQ correlates so well with poverty.

Nevermind that in the USA, we don't have parasites in rivers and all the rest of this shit, and we have vaccinations for almost all of the diseases cited and no malaria (because high IQ people cured and/or eradicated them).  Blacks STILL (even with miscegenation) score 1 sigma left of white mean.

In ADDITION, in race-confused longitudinal studies, the populations averaged to the mean of their TRUE ancestry, irrespective of environment or their own belief as to their ancestry.  Black kids adopted by white parents average black IQ, not white IQ and not a mixture.   Black kids who erroneously believe they have a nonblack parent trend toward black IQ.  Halfer kids who erroneously believe they have 2 black parents trend toward an IQ halfway between their true ancestry.  Doesn't matter who raises them.

Look, there is little purpose in your even attempting to engage on this topic because, like every other topic, I know orders of magnitude MORE than you do about it.

Now, STFU, slink away, and/or drop dead.

Did ya READ Temper & Arikawa?

They left out ALL of North America, AUstralia, and numerous other places.  0.92 is NOT an accurate figure because of this.

Further, note that this particular study only looked at a limited number of PARASITES.  What about ALL childhood disease?

But fuck that thought, right Trav?  It's the darkies' fault for being dark.  Best just to eliminate them all.

Yeah, it doesn't matter who raised them, it matters what fucking diseases they had before they were adopted, including while they were in the womb.

But hey, you want to castrate some black dudes, be my guest.  Post your address and I'll rent you a billboard and pay for the first 100.

Wed, 02/22/2012 - 22:46 | 2187587 trav7777
trav7777's picture

who gives a fuck if they did NA and Australia, both of those would have STRENGTHENED the correlation you fucking MORON.

This study looked at more than parasites.  "As a measure of infectious disease levels for each nation, disability-adjusted life years lost (DALY) owing to infectious disease were used (WHO 2004b). This measure combines years of life lost and years spent disabled owing to 28 representative and important human diseases, including tetanus, malaria, tuberculosis, hepatitis, syphilis and leishmaniasis, such that one DALY equals one healthy year of life lost per 100 000 people. "

Again, READ THE FUCKING PAPER.

You've made no showing of their having any diseases while in the fucking WOMB, you moron.  Black kids in the USA have no exposure to parasites or malaria, yet still test dead last.  Go figure.

You will grasp at any straw you can to not have to admit the inevitable, obvious truth.  Cognition is NOT an equally-distributed attribute.  I mean, just look at the two of us.  You are obviously of very mediocre intelligence and I am a genius who runs circles around you.

Again, there are a JILLION studies, including longitudinal ones GALORE regarding separated twins, race-confused kids...EVERY SINGLE ONE shows that people trend toward their BIOLOGY, not their environment.

Certainly environmental improvements can help and if you READ your study you'd see they were PRIMARILY interested in figuring out what was up with the Flynn Effect.

nevermind that it's false.  Beware of any "fact" told to you by cliff mosely-claven.

the paper he referenced was about parasites and diseases like tetanus and malaria, things eradicated by civilized people like ago.  r is higher for skin darkness than for disease.

The reason diseases correlate so well to IQ is because higher IQ populations CURE DISEASES.  Low IQ populations don't.

It takes a substantially high IQ to come up with a vaccine or to even understand disease vectors.  These things are science, which is the exclusive province of the intelligent.

Every malady that correlates with low IQ is *caused* by the SAME THING that causes low IQ scores...low intelligence.

learn to farm

domesticate animals

Its not because of disease, its because breeding and eating bugs is all it takes to keep the gene pool alive.  This does not typically advance IQ.

Nubians were pyramid builders: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubian_pyramids  Not to mention Axum and their obelisks.  Or the various trading empires, including seafaring people of the East, or the Malinesian scholars of the West, including the Madrassa of Sankore which was said to rival the Arabic centers of learning in its heyday.  Nevermind the Ethiopian empire, which was never conquered by a Western power, a feat replicated in Asia by Japan alone.

Fuck, nevermind that Niger independantly entered the iron age.

Fuck, let's just nevermind everything, and pretend like the way things were when we first met them is the way they always were.

How in the hell is saying that a white chick is to blame for WHITE PEOPLE not wiping out malaria a "bone to pick" with anything I said?  Black people are not going to cure fucking malaria...Johannesburg is now populated with fucking witch doctors and most the people on that continent believe that sex with a virgin cures AIDS.  DDT wasn't invented by blacks.  Neither were ANY of the things that would have been used to deploy it, unless you expect people to have sprayed DDT with super soakers.

WTF do you think people dumb enough to believe in shit like witchcraft and baby rape are going to do, come up with a freakin complex vaccine??!  Nevermind the soup they make out of bodyparts for witchcraft in RSA now.  The civilized white man would have put a stop to that shit just as surely as he did the tradition of burning widows in India.  But none of that matters compared to the strength of diversity.  You people should get over your racism and watch films like Viva Riva; even africans make jibes at each other over how utterly shitholey some countries like Zaire/DRC/wtfever are and should have stayed colonized.

Meanwhile Greece Just Bought 400 Tanks From The US

While the sickeningly bored European debt crisis continues with Greece possibly running out of money within weeks, and with the European banking system on the brink of collapse, there is a small piece of comedy, although probably a dark one.

Swedish newspaper SvD N?ringsliv reports that Greece has apparently just ordered 400 tanks from the United States (what?).

Greeks, you're going to have to shut this down sooner rather than later. Just walk into parliament, throw out the technocrat, dissolve the govt completely, call a new constitutional congress and go from there. You don't need to set a currency, it'll form on its own.

Once you've dissolved the govt and taxes go to zero, capital will come rushing back into the country. Govt workers, it's better to be unemployed than not paid (or have your money clawed back). There's nothing to lose at this point.

So the private bond holders took a "voluntary" haircut on the old bonds, so the banks didn't have to make good on the credit default swaps.  Is that correct?  The new Greek bailout is also funded with bonds, right?  Are any banks going to sell CDS to cover these bonds?  If the bonds are not covered by CDSs then when Greece defaults on the new bonds no banks will be on the hook for CDS payments.

In the case Libya they just hired thugs to do the job and steal Ghaddiffi's gold.   Remember that the rag-tag 1/2 mercenary rebels form a central bank in the first few weeks.

The scramble for gold is on.

BBC had a show about the thousands of Greeks moving their money and business across the border to Bulgaria. The Bulgarian banker was all smiles,"business is very good."

The very wealthy moved their money out long ago to gold bars or stashed away somewhere in Switzerland or the Netherlands (or both) he said.

A military invasion by any other name; the guns are digital, the soldiers accountants and lawyers.

This is War.

This is the new war.

This is the war being waged on the individual and family by the Bankers and Mandarins.

The royal screw job.

When the Greeks leave the EU, they will have nothing to base the new currency on.

Just another fiat that can be lied up to being something of value to a gullible public.
