New Features
Hello All,
In order to make our reader's experience more enjoyable, we're excited to offer three new features:
1. Zero Hedge Chat;
2. User Relationships; and
3. RSS Comments.
Of the first two:
To use Chat, and User Relationships, you'll have to be registered. On the right sidebar, navigate to 'My Account', then 'Edit', and finally tick the box that says "Enable Chat". From here, after a second or two, you'll see a nifty bar pop up on the bottom of your screen, and an ominous "0" next to users online. Fret not, this is where User Relationships comes into action.
First, it should be pointed out that you have access to the Chatrooms without any need to add anyone as a Contact. It sould also be pointed out that if you abuse the chatrooms, you'll be booted from the servers forever. Now, if you want to chat with someone one-on-one, simply click on their name anywhere in the ZH user interface, and you'll see a little like that says "Become __________'s Contact". Click this button. A little bit of javascript will pop up that says "Are you sure?" -- hit "Yes."
Now what? Now you have to wait for the other person to approve you. You'll notice a slick little block on the right sidebar that says "My Relationships". This is where you'll go to see who's trying to add you (Pending), and who you're already friends with.
Are there other reasons to add "Contacts"? Sure. We're designing a number of features that will be centered around the User Relationships function that we'll be releasing over the next 3 to 6 months, so feel free to build a cult. Or two.
RSS Comments
You'll notice on any story, at the bottom of the text of the story, there is a blue button now to the left of the Facebook share button; this is the RSS comments button. If you're so inclined to follow the comments on any particular post without having to check the site, you can click here to add the comment string to your rss aggregator.
If you have any questions (if you have any good questions), feel free to email us and we'll do what we can to get back to you promptly. Happy surfing!
Notes:
- Chatroom logs are kept for an hour, and automatically deleted.
- Personal chats are kept for three hours.
- Users can be found by typing their name into the search box, clicking "Search", then clicking "User".

That's great Tyler. I would like to save articles that I like for later reading without going through lots of pages to find them.
I just hope the commenting on threads remains lively. I could foresee with a chat that users might be more prone to just discuss topics there rather than below the given article. Good stuff though, I'm interested to see what some others have to say.

I don't forsee that being a problem. I see the chat thing as an add on to extend a conversation, a capability that was not there before. I will miss the thread fights though as I amn certain most of those will move to the chat, but then again, it will be interesting to see how the fights are there. Using the forum model, some people have more time to formulate their responses. I prefer it that way, and I am certain i am not the only one.
All, and every fuctions are beneficial, and will have their own advantages. In the end this will contribute to making this a great place.

You do know how to value a cross?
Most traders will trade just from tech supports resistance/support etc. looking for failures etc. I don't trade FX on margin at all. I just watch the crosses for equity clues/futures (cash trades), using FX trades as a indicator. Like AUD and EUR selling and ES futures going neg. So far the market has held up very well re: FX as a correlation to equities. But as you know an overbid market.
If you ever check out a trading floor, most traders just watch 50 100 200 MA's for technical breaks, volume (although we have HFT meltups now). Has been a very hard market to make cash in (if you are trying to hedge, so you are forced to spec long), on the major panic meltups that have occurred. Wondering when this thing will peak out. Despite the CB's money printing a tail risk is increasing. The market should trade within that psychology now. So it's dying to profit take, I think a panic is in there. Just trying to time it.
You caught the AUD trade? if so well done, BHP just destroyed it's supports.

Stay short into London. Do you have one of those Retail accounts/ open sub account and hedge it! Takes 5 minutes! Transfer a couple (k) over to the sub account. Get long aud in that account! Trade your leverage and have fun!
Use trailing stops, and have fun! Don't used fixed stops. learn to build a position.

We have a socialist government, basically run by the unions. The collective business experience of the entire federal government is about 2 years. Just to reinforce the point, the entire government consists of former unionists, former political staffers, and former bureaucrats. While they're nibbling away at Rio, BHP etc at the big end with the mining tax, they're also hammering small business. Just to make sure small business dies and is buried faster than is already happening, they have just passed Bills to make it almost impossible to be a private contractor - truck drivers who own their rigs, Mums at home making good use of the sewing machine while the kids are at school, IT contractors, tradespeople, anyone. The real plan is to make hundreds of thousands of small business contractors into daDaa!... unionists! it's back to 80s for us as a country. Wanna be an entrepreneur in this country? Forget it. You'll be buried under a mountain of paperwork designed to well, bury you.
What's really tragic is that as the economy shrinks further and the mining tax receipts flatten out, the current government won't associate any of their policies with the economic results.
Labor shafted the unions years ago.

I would pay up to $200 for a DVD with all archived ZH articles AND COMMENTS since day one. Doesn't have to be in a nice format- just a bunch of searchable text files would do. The DVD itself should be archival quality (the kind made with a small amount of real gold- mmm, shinyyyyy). This would be a great item to sell in the ZH store. It would also be a great way to spread ZH wisdom around the world before the electromagnetic pulse or internet killswitch gets us. This site will be of historical importance. You can tell because Google is already suppressing stuff written here.
I like this idea also....searchable articles for refreshing one's memory. There are so many detials, transactions...stuff going on in the world it would be nice ot pull old articles up.

Good point, though I am pretty sure the NSA already has automated scripts to store every ZH comment and catalog them by username for easy access. The DVD could leave out user IDs and avatars without losing the message. Could even blank out comments for users who don't opt in to the DVD?
I'll opt in to the DVD. Some day there may be a seamless integration of the NSA, risk assessment algos, cellphone tracking, and killer micro-drones. But as long as there is a human bottleneck, fuck 'em. Let them try to drink from a fire hose.
I do respect the paranoid. Many things that should evaporate don't.
