New User Interface
First, note that if you're having trouble logging in, you need to clear your cache. If you're still having issues, run CCleaner, and if you're still having problems, email us at info@.
Note: You can adjust which comments you see in the "junking" (as it's referred to), by adjusting your threshold in the drop down menu where you set how many comments you see, if you're authenticated. If you want to see everyone's comments, go for it. No one's? Good there too. There's a maximum range on our ability to "up" and "down" a comment -- we can't push a comment completely below your view. Moreover, if there's a comment you want to see that's below your current threshold, just click on it. It will show up. It just drops down, like magic.
Some notable features:
1. The new comment function is vastly improved. Authenticated users will be able to set threshold levels, effectively blocking out everything deemed sub-par by comment raters.
2. On the right, you'll notice you now have access to the most recent comments and top stories.
3. A much improved search function.
4. Similar stories, once the update catches up from the data migration, offers stories that share key words with the current story.
5. If you click on "My Account", you can see your most recent comments so you can track them.
6. Notably, you'll need to re-register for subscriptions. The new method is much better than the old, but we couldn't transfer the lists.
(edit)
7. We've changed Captcha.
8. Someone pointed out that users (non contributor/admin) couldn't search for other users. This has been rectified.
9. Adding Spellchecker.
10. Re: comment moderation, slashdot did an interesting piece on this (as this moderation system is derived from them), and came to the conclusion that it's absurd to let everyone moderate comments. Not only is it prone to abuse, but it defeats the purpose of having moderators (as it creates moderation wars). They elected to do a Karma system where everyone gets a shot at moderating at some point; we may adopt the same.
11. Just to clarify, aside from some sidebar stuff, the CSS on the font stayed exactly the same.
12. I'll take away user pictures if it's abused.
13. Added 'new comments' per user(s) request(s).
14. The lag you're seeing now is because the servers are updating, effectively digesting the new information (all of the user content, including posts).
If you have any questions or concerns, email me. We hope you enjoy everything.

Comment of the day.
Fantastc, the famous double post still works!
Typically that's the symbol for link, so I'm assuming that enables you to get a link to not only that post, but to a specific comment so that you could link it somewhere else.
That should be the link to that comment, so you can copy and paste it elsewhere to direct someone to that particular comment, such as from another comment, another thread, from an email etc.
I don't know.
I am not liking the new design.
The font is too large. It's too conventional.
There was something unique and austere about ZHs old layout.
Maybe I'll habituate to this.
What happened too the "junk feature?"
I should be sleeping since I have to wake up in 3 1/2 hours for a road trip.
The Bernank demonstrates how his monetary policy has created a new, green heat source this winter:
i still the like the old old version of ZH but things change... this seems like it might have a chance to be better than the last one - atleast we can go back to our comments way easier - that should stop a lot of the drive-by comments since most people knew they would never get back to a real discussion anyway
I agree. The site's been "cuckolded"
Ya know what they say about CHANGE...
Trying to acclimate...
Great job on the new format Tyler BUT is there an ignore poster option?
Ps, another $50 donation to ZH in the next hour!
Tried to donate, Paypal wanst my bank info and there not getting it. CC info is enough, anyone have a way to get around paypal and there bank info? If not that $50 will not be arriving in the next hour. :-(
Fairly easy, although I had to have a guy in Russia explain it to me.....go the the supermarket and buy a gift Visa card. Use that.
did the russian guy give you that tagline too? im bettin on it ;)
No, I caught that one from 12 years in south Florida.
one of my friends is from there.. I'll hit him with it next time I get a chance...
looks like the taglines are history
figured it out, you can bypass pay pal by using there system as a guest so I was able to donate.
I love this site!
Test. Test. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Hmmm. iframe is allowed html?
Well what do you know? Footnotes! 1
did any of the keys stick on your sentence??
here's a test as well... doesnt look like u can embed vidz..
[iframe: type="text/html" width="400" height="325" src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp3OaSmeEvQ" frameborder="0"]
<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z8YEz6PXAxs?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kp3OaSmeEvQ?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kp3OaSmeEvQ?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
you should really consider disallowing the 'iframe' tag, your asking for trouble
I see the "Spellcheck" feature isn't entirely effective....
I miss the mindbending captcha's already. It in itself was entertainment.
All in all I believe this is going in the right direction :)
I, too, miss the CAPTCHA. It provided affirmation that I'm a real human, not a machine.
Infrastructure improvements! Are the futures up?
Works well on my itouch. Kudos
did ZH get a fat check from the stimulus ?
on the account page under the 'edit' tab, there is no stylesheet making edits to my account impossible
Vaguely hokie. Again, I'll sleep on it once and decide wether I like it or not. The new light brings new perspectives.
Can I change the font? I find it hard to read
Some good, some bad. I prefer low images, I fear this could become 4chan. And I liked the old sparse appearance, perhaps if the grey headers went away?
Hopefully the format is a living one, at least for a while, until the tuning is done. I liked having one massively dense page of comments, all the vertical space is going to result in pages and pages in no time.
I agree re: density, however, counter in that the area where the gray header is now was effectively just white-space before. I've moved the comments closer to each other, and use the lines as a divider so they don't blend. Moreover, when someone is dropped below the threshold, the gray area provides a click-able area to view the comment.
At first sniff it seems hokie. Like I said I'll sleep on it once. All these pictures to scroll through. Some are funny, some will be puerile.
Sac you did a great job.
Thanks
Thx guys...
Gubb
Seems a little hokie to me. Like I said, I'll give it a sleep. So many images to scroll by.
Entropy suggests that the image inclusion will degrade over time. Lend toward the puerile.
I would suggest removing the borders around each comment and avatars. Your just adding to screen clutter making it harder to read.
re "it's absurd to let everyone moderate comments..."
There is a SIMPLE option that is totally workable by demonstrated use for nearly 10 years [on another website, e.g. http//www. investorshub.com].
The website software allows EACH authenticated reader to choose to omit any commenters from the available comments only that reader views.
Such "moderating" has no effect on what appears to any other authenticated reader.
Yeah, I like that functionality. There's a module to do such for this CMS; I'll look into it to see if it's viable.
I'd like that feature.
Don't try 1000 comments per page on an iTouch-- you just get a list of posters
Site seems to be loading significantly more slowly than before---- will see in the morning as I am at edge of wifi range
Love auto-correct/fill
My only complaint is the font size. As it stands now I'll have to wear my reading glasses.
..............................................................................................................................
Strike that. Fixed
are we suppose to be civil puppets now?? if so, I'll gather my boots and hit the road...
the new user interface is...sacrilege i tell ya!
the fonts are lookin all goofy and the 'new' notations are gone...
ps - anyone else think it's slower than snot?
Which new notations, specifically? And it's a bit slow right now because of the data migration -- it's trying to reindex all of the content; we apologize for the inconvenience.
new articles...as in ones I've not read. They used to show up with the red 'new' along side, but there are several now that I've not read that aren't marked as new.
no problem on the slow if it works itself out in the dm.
thx
It doesn't seem any slower to me; maybe even a fraction faster. But I'm on a very slow connection and the 'edit' pages (whether editing a message or editing my profile) all come up in HTML 0.1 format with a large fixed-pitch font!
Love the new 'reads' counter ... but I really miss the 'new comments' counter on the home page.
Agree!
that "Reads" # includes re-loading the screen. betcha. marketing dept bullshit. sad.
Lord Bernanke, we praise thee!
Pretty cool.
I'm personally wondering what it will do for the cpu/ram resources for the readers with lower end computers, but it shouldn't be too much worse for them. But having 100 tabs of ZH might be trying for them.
It'll probably also take up more bandwidth to deliver the new format, but who knows what sort of optimization was done on this forum code.
I like it, more pictures and stuff from users, still a clean, streamlined look.
Now with all this 'change', I'm sure the core stays the same, good ol ZH commentary, insight, facts, etc.
Ancient proverb: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
The new design sucks major balls. Line spacing is all wrong (and uneven). Fonts are nice and ghey (look like a myspace page), quotations look like crap, and above all, the indentation adds complexity to the forum commentary, without adding any value. Kind of insulting actually, to assume that we weren't able to follow responses using the old layout.
Please return the old layout. Whoever sold you on the idea of "upgrading" is trying to undermine ZH...
+++ What Charlie said...
How about a css file for mobile browsing? Looking at an 1 1/2 inch wide article / comment section on my iPad is torture. Maybe the redesign addressed this; I don't know yet. Also drupal has some decent free to nominal license-fee comment voting plug-ins; which, on an entirely different subjebt, means you should lose the drupal footprint.
actually just use RSS on mobile/ipad and skip the comments - there is no way you will ever have a good experience with comments on a board like this on a mobile device
Moving from a 3-column layout to a 2-column layout would make viewing comments from a mobile phone or small screen laptop easier, and would reduce required page scrolling by all users (as the right-most column now becomes an bottomless dead whitespace once you get below the shopping cart, single addvertisement, and link list).
What happened to full RSS feeds?! Don't tell me ZH.. please don't be like the rest of them.
The "New Comments" link on each post does not seem to work. It brings up an invalid link. Fyi.
Will this stop my cat from walking on the keyboard?

Spelchek? Who neads stupid spelchek? I jist rite em the way thay sownds.
Where's the one click insert "bitchez!!!" button?
maybe HTML6 will have the >bitchez> tag
Sacrilege, the layout looks like you put a lot of effort into it, kudos.
I just had a few concerns with the description of the future comment junking system that you described. Mostly I am affraid that the majority of the junkings will be over philosophical issues instead of taste issues. For example, we have many members that enjoy junking comments that show even a small bias against gold ownership. We also have a large group that is against roboTrader. I am affraid that this will translate into an anti-huffpo site as the rubber meets the road.
A real world example would be if Leo gets said junking power, then any comment suggesting that disabled pensioners get too much money would disappear, no matter how relevant any information included in the comment is. Got a comment slamming solars? Kiss it good-bye.
A possible work-around would be to have the option to veiw all posts either at the top of the page, or in the member section. Another route would be to collapse the comment into a single line that can be expanded by the reader, similar to the way that Slashdot treats mid-level comments.
Also, could you have the pictures display as a link that loads the image when clicked? I am going to be afraid of checking ZH at work the way that things are now.
Thanks for hearing me out.
you have a job? what country do u live in?
I'm in the grand ol' USSA. Sadly, balancing the budget will make my job disappear (SBIR funded), so maybe I should say "I currently have a job."
The government and their grants, a ponzi scheme in itself.
That feature exists -- you just change the threshold in the drop down menu at the top of the page. That way you can set it to see everything -- no one can "Junk" it below your ability to read it.
i can speak as someone who gets more than his fair share of junks and listen man... its fine, i can take it.
when i read on other sites sometimes i really miss the option of a junk button... its was a ZH institution... abused by a few of course but whatever...
i'm sure the new system will be ok, hope it all goes smooth
That makes me feel a much more comfortable, thanks for the reply.
Keep up the good work.
Hope that refers to the offending individual rather than globally, Sacrilege
It's a very refreshing new look though, thanks a bunch, does the superscript work properly now I wonder -- 210Po..
I agree with your thoughts regarding images. There will certainly be those that abuse it; however, there are those that will add value with graphs, etc. This feature should be removed on an individual basis.
Hi Sac, How do I report all of the spam comments on the T-SHirt page? Any chance you could delete them and clean the thread out? it's full of links to home and car insurance and other rubbish all down the 2nd page of comments. cheers
Let the Slavery begin- Enjoy Corp America while it lasts. Soon you have to bring your coffee and water.Soon Corp America will resemble FOXCONN. Sure it works for AAPL
21 Workplace Benefits That Are Rapidly Disappearing
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/21-Workplace-Benefits-That-usnews-76225074...
The comment system is definitely overdue for a redesign, so this is definitely a step in the right direction. However...
1. Image posting should be removed... I don't understand what the need is for people to be posting a bunch of random images. Unless people are going to post charts/graphs, most of the images aren't going to be useful for discussion, and there is a strong possibility that people will be posting NSFW material. I do enjoy being able to read ZH at work, and would like it to remain that way. Additionally as others have mentioned, this will make the pages slower to scroll through (especially on mobile phones) and greatly add to load times.
2. We definitely need a comment rating system, preferably with a -1/+1 setup. Check Engadget for a pretty good commenting system. +1 are needed for users who take the time to post well thought-out posts that encourage discussion, and -1 are needed to junk trolls and other useless posts. After all, comments are designed to encourage real discussions, right? The least amount of spam/troll posts we can get, the better.
Keep up the good work.
I think the site is perfect now than before. More UI and GUI. Agreed with the rating system. How about some Indefinite Integrated Calc rating system. Would be fun....
Just me I guess..............
A +1/-1 system!!
Please no.... its not some MSM site or facebook...
can i poke tyler?
Anybody know how to change the avatar? The picture I want to use is too big in terms of dimensions, but I thought ZH takes care of that automatically. I don't know how to cut it down to a smaller size.
Have you tried Paint or Publisher to crop the image?
Why change if the last one was doing ok?
I never thought that ZH users and readers were GEEKS. Love it. I am in the right place. Anyone wants to exchange Partial Diff Eqn Solutions to Debt Crisis?
Comments look much better, it's easier to see who is replying to what. Almost threading. Could do with reducing the padding a little, lots of screen real estate being used. The future is mobile, and mobiles have small screens.
Nix the pix though.
Couple of reasons:
Re comment rating. You could try the collaborative filtering approach; the ratings you see depend on the nearness to others who have previously rated comments similarly. It's an n2 problem though & you'll need boxes sitting running through the stats.
Ooh superscript works. And subscript, underlines, strikethrough and italic <fn>and this is an auto footnote</fn>?
what about right align

Cool. much better.
Like it.
Damit.... Too much excitement from this new site----screwed my sleep pattern ----but an episode of Breaking Bad has fixed it.... Strangely ironic really.....zzzzzzzzz
Call me old fashioned but the ability for posters to spam big ass pictures and signitures is a backwards step. Some nice changes though but the moderating and picture spam is going to change the dynamic of this place. Perhaps in a good way perhaps in a bad way. Who knows. It seems to me Fight Club just went all MSM 2.2 children.
Get rid of the pics and sigs. This isn't high school musical.
Spot on. I don't WANT to see loads of pictures in the comments, 'witty' signAtures, loads of pretty colours or wacky fonts. Even the basic font style has changed and makes reading a little less easy. ZeroHedge has been superb because of its CONTENT.
I'll say it again, why fix something that didn't need fixing?
All that work on the backend paid off Sacrilege....!
meh...not sure why the change was necessary...I'm over it tho...still the same site content-wise, please take back the stupid add picture option (not everyone is a banzai!). not good. and bring back the junk man. and change the damn font for chrissake! and seriously get rid of the damn signatures.....otherwise good work...but dammit why did you have to change anything in the first place??? it was fine the way it was! sacrilege indeed sac. oh well! yet another aspect of my daily life that i have zero control over. zero hedge! zero fucking zero!
you have a fine ear for the blues, gangl_d. well spoken.
it was fine the way it was!
amen. now, people can post "appropriate" (tasteful, meaningless?) images or lose their privilege!
but, it's so cool!
Agree 100%.
The font has changed to Lucida, a font that is used on many Apple centric sites. It's completely unreadable. Look in the source and you will see:
body { font-family : "Lucida Sans", Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; }I'm probably wrong -- but Lucida Sans might be UNIX/Linux oriented, which would explain Apple-centricity to a degree. I like it -- but I preferred the old font.
Wasn't that already there?
You'll have to keep a close eye on the images posted.
The font size is almost unreadable when posting a comment.
OK, this is officially cool
I don't have anything to say. I just wanted to see if the reCaptcha equations were any easier.
nice to be able to insert a link without having to edit html. also nice to be able to post pics, though i wonder if there's a max size...huge images could end up destroying the formatting, hence a huge pic to see what happens:
<img>http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/97/The_Earth_seen_from_A...\img>
ah well seems that the <img> tag doesn't work anyway.
I couldn't get it to work either, but my html blows big chunkies so it is hard to tell.
Oh! Well!!! Test Test Test......
While you're watching, Sacrilege- How easy would it be to back up all of ZeroHedge to DVD every week and give a copy to a few trusted insiders? Would ZH fit on one DVD?
At some point they are going to pulll the plug on the whole Internet and when they do, the ZH DVDs could go viral old-shcool, like 5 inch floppy disks. Would be invaluable even if people had to pull huge wads of text it into WordPad; at least there would be text search.
L0L you make sure the "trusted insiders" on zH do what you require around your fantasy of they are going to pull the plug on the whole Internet and when they do...
after all, why else would we be here?
I suspect it would a amount to more like a DVD per week. Speaking of which, there are several items I have seen here in the comments section that I would like to reference, and I can currently only do that by remembering about when I saw the article and looking through all the comments from all the posts around that date. Sacrileage, would it be possible to add a 'search' feature to the site? BTW, spellcheck does not seem to be working.
Are we now a version of the "Huffington Post"? Where are the archives, in particular; where is the picture of the Norwegian in his Masonic regalia?
Seems like a worthwhile upgrade.
One issue I have is this: from the middle or bottom of the page is there a quick way to get to the top/bottom? The manual scrolling is a drag.
Push your Home or End key.
Will it be possible to make the translation toolbox disappear from the user profile?
Also, sharing the posts with Google+ sounds like something you may want to consider some day in the future.
Everything else is perfect, specialy related posts and improved search.
Looks and work much better than before
the new layout for bloggers comments is clunky and disjointed/unbalanced
"the new comment function is vastly imporved" ..is that'll the opinion of the tekkies that produced it?
One step forward (though i've yet to find the forward step!) and 2 steps back IMO
As long as freedom of speech is not eradicated completely, then this site will remain valid
i'd say any form of moderation is trampling on freedom... there is no good moderation, period
Agreed 100%. We either have freedom of speech ... or we don't!!!
As long as freedom of speech is not eradicated completely, then this site will remain valid
FIRST POST
I like the cleaner interface! I have a couple of comments though:
1. Please remove the borders around avatars - it kind of defeats the point of having transparent pictures or background-matching.
2. If you are trying to move to a more Slashdot system, which basically implies that in future you expect to get a high number of users or comments per article (a sort of mass community of strangers site) instead of a more group-like intimate flat-view setting where many of the users know each other's avatars, then I recommend you go the whole way in the *thread view*. On changing to a thread view, eliminate avatars, reduce the size of (or eliminate) comment headers, have a marked threading system (pure white space is hard to follow while scrolling), have lead-in text from the comment so people can quickly see if they want to read more, but without having to see the entire comment while scrolling.
Thanks, very much!
hi. +avatar+
keep trying. very little downside risk from there
Hmm, well, gonna take some getting used to. I like the junks. Can I still say "Fuck Obama and the skanky nag he rode in on"? I hope we aren't sliding toward heavy handed, petulant moderation here... we're not, right? Cause....ZH wouldn't be ZH no more. HBDBB :-)
I haven't made the chart of chart in over 9 months. It is a multi-headed monster for sure.
It uses chart pattern to analyze the state of the market, as well as number of stocks ready to breakout, which there are quite alot right now, that could be big or sustained move.
I have crossovers based on the 5, 10, and 20 day moving average of the number of stocks breaking bullish and breaking bearish. When they cross over, that triggers a change in a toggle Chart that I display all three of them (the 5 DMA crossover, the 10 DMA crossover, and the 20 DMA crossover).
One backtest I did showed that following the 5 DMA crossover would produce about 80% annual returns, the 20 DMA was around 35% annual return, and the 10DMA was the "whippiest" of the bunch and only returned around 24%, so the 10 DMA crossover is the least reliable.
Right now the 5DMA and 20DMA says bullish, and the number of stock perched on breakout is quote high.
For me personally, this makes me feel alot better with 4 long picks held through the weekend.
Chart of Charts is cool.
At the top is a scatter chart, which is interpreted as when very low number of stocks broken out, often a big move follows. Everything on these charts is saying big move, and most likely bullish.
Comments? Anyone remember the chart of charts from days of Yore?
http://oahutrading.blogspot.com/2011/07/chart-of-charts-throwback-to-pas...
So the "common man" so to speak can no longer junk.
I junk that.
Yeah, some smart twat can come on and insult gold bugs and get away scot free.
this all smacks of reds under the bed communism!!
:o
junked
we can always just junk it is a one word comment
I am confused but I get the hang of this sooner or later
Testing, testing.....

Hey, Mathman, it works! go out and tell everyone it cost $5 to dig out silver out of the ground and that you're looking out for the little guy
so basically there is no way to set the settings to show last comment first... right?
Looks good! I am a little tecnically challenged but I'll figure it out! Thanks Tyler!
new ui.
nicely done.
busy summer.
Thanks for returning the 'New Comments' tag, Sac - but the counter simply shows the total number of comments, while clicking on it does take one to a new comment.

YIKES! Has Zerohedge been taken over by Skynet?
Has anyone worked out how to junk yet?
Yes. You can't.
I want to know if there will be any layoffs due to this new ZH user interface
Testing
No layoffs. The welfare/severance checks went out. People need these to survive. They immediately inject capitalism, entrepreneurial growth, and unstoppable activity into the economy.
We are all saved forever and ever. Perpetual economy is here in our time.
@ sacrilege: how does one become an "authenticated user"? or is that the same as "registered user"?
Signatures suck. I don't really care about anyone's pet phrases. Reading it once is fine but then it's like hearing Chet Holmes & Tony Robbins commercials on repeat. I want to kill those guys.
I see the comment box is finally fixed. I'd always lose 2 or 3 words on the right side of the comment box on my laptop.
Nice job ZH...my suggestions:
1) Fix font in Comment box
2) IGNORE button
HEY, SACRILEGE! One very small thing that causes me much larger problems as a user is this: Old stories are continually driven to the top of my "Tracking" list in my account because spammers hit othewise DEAD threads with crap posts.
Not only is this annoying, but it's ripe for (and, imo, being used for) abuse by people motivated to misrepresent "hot" theads and keep ridiculous articles in the forefront of the readers' view. An article may be a year old and generating no real action whatsoever, but anybody who wants to misrepresent that fact can simply add a comment to it to bring it right back to the top of my User Tracking List . . . and everybody else's as well, I presume.
This is completely bogus and makes for a lot of junk I have to sort through to see where I've posted recently.
HOW ABOUT CLOSING ARTICLES TO FURTHER COMMENTS AFTER, SAY, ONE WEEK???????????????
3. A much improved search function.
Thank God!
Thank you Sac, for all your efforts.
Sometimes change is good.
Thank you Sac, for all your efforts. Sometimes change is bad.
Looks good overall.
My problem. I have spent many an hour cleaning up under my account so that no "NEW" notifications exist. Imagine my surprise when EVERY article I have commented on is now NEW! I guess I will be spending time going down memory lane unless you have a fix in store? It is really going to cut into my handwashing time.
Damned recalcitrant i-phone
Like most changes (wow, the font IS small!)...I am not a participant in the planning stages, thus am left with the exisistential task of adapting/accepting/refining my philosophical detachment, and ultimately going with the flow... what a bitch...
Meh, most of the changes aren't that big a deal to me I guess. Thanks for everything you do to keep things up & running, Sac.
Agreed on the Signatures though, I just deleted mine as I do think it'll break the flow of the comment section.
Sacrilege --
Here is another thought on the web-of-trust kind of concept.
Give every user a weight based on several factors:
1. the number of ratings they have received from different users.
2. the proportion of positive to negative ratings they have received
3. the length of time they have been members
(1) is designed to prevent a small clique of sock-puppets from simply reinforcing each other.
(2) is the equivalent of the old junk button, but better.
(3) is designed to prevent the site from being flooded and disrupted by artificial people.
Then set a threshold on that score that allows you to become a rater.
Keep a similar but separate score for each user -- except this one can only be affected by contributing member. Set a threshold on that score at which you invite a member to audition to become a contributing member. Auditions are read and decided upon by founders.
Both rating and contributing privileges can be revoked if you fall below the threshold again. ( Or below a lower threshold, maybe. )
Wow. I love telling programmers what to do! It sounds so easy! Maybe I should quit writing C code, embrace the power of the dark side, and become a manager!
"Here is another thought on the web-of-trust kind of concept.
Give every user a weight based on several factors:"
I have an idea ... how about ... we let posts simply stand on - the merits of the post! Everyone is going to go a little off the weeds sooner of later ... I think those posts too deserve the light of day AND any comment(s) they may draw.
But, no ranking system (maybe junking; that seemed to work pretty well, it was harmless except for a little 'reputatinal damage' on occasion)
Reiterating: No ability to block or not view posts; been tried on a number of other sites ... and I can't stand the Slashdot system ... so, show all posts.
.
Sounds good. How shall we measure it ?
How about you decide for yourself?
let me just delete this ..
