Is Nigel Farage Bailing Out The EU One Fine At A Time?

Tyler Durden's picture

Back in 2010, everyone's favorite truthsayer in Europe - MEP Nigel Farage - opined on who exactly was Herman Van Rompuy - the new EU President. Claiming HvR's charisma approached that of a damp rag, we noted at the time that this was indeed slanderous to all the hard-working damp-rags out there. Well, given the EU's need for cash - by any route possible - it seems they have chosen to start building a mountain of fines. As AP reports, the EU parliament fined Nigel EUR2980 for his self-expression.

Here is the dreadful moment of truth...

Via AP:Lawmaker Fined About $4,000 For Insulting EU Chief

BRUSSELS (AP) — How much does it cost to tell the one of the EU's top officials he has "the charisma of a damp rag?" About €3,000, or close to $4,000, as a European member of Parliament has discovered.

In 2010, Nigel Farage, an anti-European Union member of the EU Parliament, rose following a speech by Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the European Council. As Van Rompuy listened, Farage, a Briton, added that the former Belgian prime minister came from "pretty much a non-country."

The Parliament docked Farage €2,980 — 10 days' expenses. Farage appealed to the European Court of Justice. It ruled this month that he filed his appeal too late and would also have to pay Parliament's legal expenses.

The decision was posted on the court's website on Monday.

which leaves us wondering - as we tweeted earlier:

Given Germany's EUR 190bn ESM contribution, we assume that Nigel has 63 million more insults before Europe is fixed

If we contribute enough euro notes, can Farage insult everyone else in the European parliament? If I give him US dollars, will he take on the US Congress, the Bernank, and the US president?

This could get really fun.

Spot on. Nigel Faradage is a City-of-London creature with but one mission: To attack the enemies of her Majesty's beloved Zimbabwe-in-the-sea (I am loving it!). There is no country as indebted and economically doomed in the western hemisphere as the UK with its overleveraged banking-"industry". Look at the mess they created on this planet. I'd like to hear from Mr. Faraday about how he likes the fact that MFG customers got fucked with rehypothecation schemes exploiting banker-centered UK-legislation. Assange is being watched 24x7x365 while russian mafia oligarchs enjoy their parasitic lifes in the city safe from russian extradition requests. The european "integration process" is a mess and as much as I detest bureaucrats worshiping the city-of-londonstan calf Faradic as an incarnation of freedom and liberty is downright idotic.

This may all be true, but Nigel does what he does quite well.  These assholes in Brussels deserve to have their noses rubbed in it.  The Brits problems certainly don't improve by making decisions makers evel less local.

And, even then...

I trust "your Europe" includes Portugal, Italy, Eire, Spain, Greece, France - all of whom seem to have problems ENTIRELY CAUSED BY YOUR DETERMINATION TO HAVE THE EUROZONE - "lets bundle-up different speed economies into one Big Happy Family and see what happens!"

Farage is a Eurosceptic. Farage and others were against EMU

Seems Farage and others were right, doesn't it.

As to the Zimbabwe in the North Sea taunt - exactly what has YOUR "European Superhero" Mario Draghi recently agreed to?? Seems like the EU is going to be a FAR better example of "Fiscal Prudence" doesn't it - just waiting for the "entitled set" to start rioting in France, Spain, Italy (already under way nicely in Greece don't you know!)

White House demands military prisons for Americans under NDAA

Published: 17 September, 2012, 19:41
The White House has asked the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals to place an emergency stay on a ruling made last week by a federal judge so that the president’s power to indefinitely detain Americans without charge is reaffirmed immediately.
On Wednesday, September 12, US District Court Judge Katherine Forrest made permanent a temporary injunction she issued in May that bars the federal government from abiding by the indefinite detention provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, or NDAA. Judge Forrest ruled that a clause that gives the government the power to arrest US citizens suspected of maintaining alliances with terrorists and hold them without due process violated the Constitution and that the White House would be stripped of that ability immediately.
Only hours after Judge Forrest issued last week’s ruling, the Obama administration threatened to appeal the decision, and on Monday morning they followed through.
At around 9 a.m. Monday, September 17, the White House filed an emergency stay in federal appeals court in an effort to have the Second Circuit strip away Judge Forrest’s ruling from the week earlier.

It gets worse:

FBI shows up at teenager's home to ask about his Ron Paul school report
Published: 14 September, 2012, 02:16
A 16-year-old high school student’s video report for his American Government class earned him an A+ from his teacher. It also yielded a visit from the FBI.
Justin Hallman says that a project he put together for school that included information on the National Defense Authorization Act, Rep. Ron Paul, Anonymous and the Occupy Wall Street movement was well received in the classroom, but wasn’t exactly praised by others. After agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation saw a copy of Hallman’s finished work on YouTube, they paid a visit to his own home.
The boy’s mother says the FBI showed up at their home one month after the class project was first turned in and told her, "We need to talk to your son." Once inside, Justin Hallman says he was drilled about his thoughts on an array of issues included in his project.
Hallman says the meeting wasn’t an informal chat, either, but even involved a proposition. According to the high-schooler, the FBIs attempted to recruit Hallman as an undercover source to scoop up more information on Anonymous and Occupy Wall Street.
“They wanted me to be an informant, to possibly put my life in danger, to help them arrest and gain intel on occupy protesters and hackers,” Hallman says in the email.

Yeah Nigel although England might not like the old German illuminati taking over the European world he is certainly right that the banksters have invaded the countries of Europe and have nearly removed all the sovereign nations citizens rights and given them to the banksters. They will soon have their armed drones in the air and it will be a done deal. Until of course the revolution renders Europe to a pile of dust -- again. Here is where Farage walks his talk.  If he pays the fine, then contrary to his speech, he recognizes the legitimacy of the European Parliament and is nothing more than a barking jester. Apart from the "ad hominem" he's right about Belgium being a non-country and the quiet assasin of the european democracy is sitting there. This from 2010. As relevant now as before. Of course Farange was testing the water (throwing a stone in it). He's a populist, but at least half of what he says is true. For the other (U.K.) part of the madness I'd consult this bloke. ;-)

New boss (ESM), new rules. Like someone tunnelled underneath a castle; no action being taken, and the castle breached. "I care not who makes the laws.. etc.."

What's the function of mr. Farange? In what way can someone, anyone in his function be put before a court? Which court? How is the court put together? (elected or put into place like the object of this ridicule?). Whááát?!

This EU thing is getting funnier and funnier by the day. Like a horror clown show. :-S
