Is Nigel Farage Bailing Out The EU One Fine At A Time?

Tyler Durden's picture

Back in 2010, everyone's favorite truthsayer in Europe - MEP Nigel Farage - opined on who exactly was Herman Van Rompuy - the new EU President. Claiming HvR's charisma approached that of a damp rag, we noted at the time that this was indeed slanderous to all the hard-working damp-rags out there. Well, given the EU's need for cash - by any route possible - it seems they have chosen to start building a mountain of fines. As AP reports, the EU parliament fined Nigel EUR2980 for his self-expression.

Here is the dreadful moment of truth...

Via AP:Lawmaker Fined About $4,000 For Insulting EU Chief

BRUSSELS (AP) — How much does it cost to tell the one of the EU's top officials he has "the charisma of a damp rag?" About €3,000, or close to $4,000, as a European member of Parliament has discovered.

In 2010, Nigel Farage, an anti-European Union member of the EU Parliament, rose following a speech by Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the European Council. As Van Rompuy listened, Farage, a Briton, added that the former Belgian prime minister came from "pretty much a non-country."

The Parliament docked Farage €2,980 — 10 days' expenses. Farage appealed to the European Court of Justice. It ruled this month that he filed his appeal too late and would also have to pay Parliament's legal expenses.

The decision was posted on the court's website on Monday.

which leaves us wondering - as we tweeted earlier:

Given Germany's EUR 190bn ESM contribution, we assume that Nigel has 63 million more insults before Europe is fixed

If the sheeple had 1 whit of sense, the fact that Daniel Ellsberg is also a plaintiff should give them a clue. That is assuming they know who he is & his history. I fear for Judge Forrest.

Parrotile's picture

Well, not exactly unexpected is it!

Expecting Judge Forrest to be involved in "some unfortunate car / domestic / transport / medical / holiday incident" over the next few weeks or months (probably months, to reduce the sheeple's ability to recall her last stand for Civil Rights).

Sends a clear message out - "We are your RULERS and you don't mess with OUR plans for your enslavement".

It gets worse:

FBI shows up at teenager's home to ask about his Ron Paul school report
Published: 14 September, 2012, 02:16
A 16-year-old high school student’s video report for his American Government class earned him an A+ from his teacher. It also yielded a visit from the FBI.
Justin Hallman says that a project he put together for school that included information on the National Defense Authorization Act, Rep. Ron Paul, Anonymous and the Occupy Wall Street movement was well received in the classroom, but wasn’t exactly praised by others. After agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation saw a copy of Hallman’s finished work on YouTube, they paid a visit to his own home.
The boy’s mother says the FBI showed up at their home one month after the class project was first turned in and told her, "We need to talk to your son." Once inside, Justin Hallman says he was drilled about his thoughts on an array of issues included in his project.
Hallman says the meeting wasn’t an informal chat, either, but even involved a proposition. According to the high-schooler, the FBIs attempted to recruit Hallman as an undercover source to scoop up more information on Anonymous and Occupy Wall Street.
“They wanted me to be an informant, to possibly put my life in danger, to help them arrest and gain intel on occupy protesters and hackers,” Hallman says in the email.

Stazi state? ... nah!

NEVER let any govt thugs inside your house if they don't have a search warrant.

Speak to them through the screen door, go outside and talk on the stoop, porch, walk, or whatever, but do not let them into your home.

As if these sweet guys didn't have better things to do.... I wonder, have they gone to have a chat with Blankfein, Dimon, Perle, Wolfowitz, Silverstein, Soros, Emanuel, or Bloomberg?

You get my point.

"Charisma of a damp rag,"

How could he say this? Apparently he's never seen one of Mr.Van Rompuy's staple awe inspiring, and charismatic speeches.

Almost 700 views on youtube and 6 likes!

comments from youtubers like:

"Vermin Rompuy, Rats normally leave the sinking ship first. You‘re staying on board the sinking? ship as long as you can to fool us," from Wh47n0w1517,

"Unelected, old fraud, i`ll shit on your grave you parasitic wanker," from no1frogy,

demonstrate the effectiveness of his speeches in inspiring super-national EU Pride.

Rompuy is a FUCKING CUNT.

God be with the days of 2 Hail Marys and 1 our Father.

Now they have monetized sin.

(THE Catholics of Belgium are even stranger then the Irish)

We have got to get out this place.............

If its the last thing we ever do.

And again I am thinking of (another) expatriation. Anyone with objective inf. on Iceland? Is there enough space to live, for all the expats to follow? Or will that european democrazy follow and strangle Iceland, too?

I'd be willing to donate to a fund so Nigel can keep speaking for me, unabated. If they'll do this to Nigel Farage to try and make an example to chill free speech there is nothing inhibiting these leeches.

cleargulf's picture

"donate to a fund so Nigel can keep speaking. . ."

Good idea.  Anybody with experience in setting up such a fund?

Moomah's picture

Nigel Farage has great big shiny awesome balls of brass. Consider that fine a badge of courage and honor, Mr. Farage.

Fubared's picture

Clearly it is now time to massprint Damp rag stickers and T-shirts.

A Damp rag movement perhaps?

sansnobel's picture

Oh don't worry folks.  You wont have to worry about a speech tax here in the good ole' USSA.  They would never do that to us right?  Move along, nothing to see here.  If I were Farage,  I would have probably already  blew up at these people in a fit of rage and indignation and they would genuinely walk around for some time looking over their shoulders....question is does Farage have any balls to take this bullshit to the next level?

Water damp, or kerosene damp?

I thought I would share this on here because some of the worldwide readers may not be aware of who Ian Tomlinson is and just how despicable this event is. I started this post this morning and updated it earlier after the events.

Forgive me hijacking this post:

When did it become normal for public servants to retire multi millionaires upon taxpayers dime?

tradewithdave's picture

Indeed a business model that ZeroHedge should consider.  $4,000 per down vote.  If ZH goes public, then I could buy shares and then subject myself to self-imposed down votes thereby sacrificing my own credibility in exchange for more fiat.... a proven profit motive no doubt when "things get serious"... technically referred to as "self-Junckering" in the B-school texts.

adonisdemilo's picture

if nigel farage had lied through his back teeth and said rumpy pumpy was a first class popular european wunderkind would he be in line for a $4000 bonus?

Joebloinvestor's picture

Issue a bond to pay the fine Nigel.

Now they are really pissed at you.

Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

Put out to fertilize the grass instead of in the grass. Yeah Nigel although England might not like the old German illuminati taking over the European world he is certainly right that the banksters have invaded the countries of Europe and have nearly removed all the sovereign nations citizens rights and given them to the banksters. They will soon have their armed drones in the air and it will be a done deal. Until of course the revolution renders Europe to a pile of dust -- again. As I remember 1776 in the US wasn't nearly as bad as the civil war so maybe here we can roust them out here a little easier.

Isn't Rompuy that SS agent that starred in Raiders of the Lost Ark? Looks just like him.

Silversinner's picture

I will gladly pay his next fine if he calls this

Rompuy creature by his real name;Gollum.

Lore's picture

Here is where Farage walks his talk.  If he pays the fine, then contrary to his speech, he recognizes the legitimacy of the European Parliament and is nothing more than a barking jester. The only way to demonstrate real contempt for that body -- short of pulling a 'Guy Fawkes' (Heaven forbid) -- is to pick up your wallet and your nation's purse and simply walk away. As Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing!"

SmittyinLA's picture

Maybe he can make just one offensive comment and offend 63 million people.

mr_bad's picture

I'm sure Nigel's fans would be happy to pitch in and pay his fines.

I would fine Rumpboy 4K for having that "Ridiculous" hairdoo.

Reminds me of the old definition of Nazis:  Thugs with bad haircuts and ill-fitting trousers.  Well, you cant really see HvR's trousers during that dressing down, but the rest fits

Inthemix96's picture

Till our Nigel gets a hold of herman the van rumpoy and kicks the fucking living daylights out of him on air, he is just paid hot air.  To give simple folk a bit of hope that someone, somewhere is opposed to what the fuck is going on in the EU.

Come on then Nigel, give this non-descript cunt a good fucking kicking on live air and we may just believe you son.  Or ask someone like me.  And I will gladly do it for free, as well as barrosso and martin schultz.

Get in touch if you need me boys...

Is there only one Nigel complaining?

Aren't there others?

Or have all others joined the compliant plant pussies?

Reptil's picture

Apart from the "ad hominem" he's right about Belgium being a non-country and the quiet assasin of the european democracy is sitting there. This from 2010. As relevant now as before. Of course Farange was testing the water (throwing a stone in it). He's a populist, but at least half of what he says is true. For the other (U.K.) part of the madness I'd consult this bloke. ;-)

New boss (ESM), new rules. Like someone tunnelled underneath a castle; no action being taken, and the castle breached. "I care not who makes the laws.. etc.."

What's the function of mr. Farange? In what way can someone, anyone in his function be put before a court? Which court? How is the court put together? (elected or put into place like the object of this ridicule?). Whááát?!

This EU thing is getting funnier and funnier by the day. Like a horror clown show. :-S
