NYSE Breaks... And It's Not Even Rule 48 Time

Tyler Durden's picture

From the NYSE: "The NYSE and NYSE Amex cash equities markets are experiencing sporadic issues affecting order delivery.  Repairs are underway and an update will follow shortly." If an update does not follow shortly, expect the NYSE to organize a conference call where 10,000 panicked momos show up, none of them familiar with the existence of the mute button.

Update: better now

Bullish! Those insiders buying so much, right?

zorba THE GREEK's picture

Insiders are buying again, 'inside the Fed'

SheepDog-One's picture

Right, and theyre setting the great panic and demand for QE3 how exactly? Ive never seen more calm markets, every day open +100....all is well in the land, well until people realize theres no Wall St free money drop.

When a Stranger Calls (2011 Collapse Edition):

"That call is coming from inside the Fed..."

Cdad's picture

Well, this is the farthest thing from a surprise.  To make the index jump here, chaos overflow is required.  You are going to be very busy today, Tyler.

This rally attempt is going to reveal just how sick this market really is.

Josh Randall's picture

CORRECT! The market is SICK AGAIN like it's last name was Zeppelin

Stock market holiday? Can't get your stocks out?

Randy Kruger's picture

Why today?  Asia is up, there's no (comparatively) major news crossing the wires.

rubearish10's picture

Why NOT today? Smart money doesn't need to react to headline news.

Banana Republic's HFT scary ferry just took on one too many passengers. The boat has overturned and HFT's can't swim. There should necessarily be casualties.

HEY lets stage a rally going into JH making the 'all is well' case for widely expected QE3 gala star studded announcement? I dont think so.

Hedge Hunter's picture

Transitory glitch. Nothing to see here. Please move along.

Jim

mayhem_korner's picture

Yes, but it would be funny to see the glitch trip up the pre-ordained +140 open on the Dow and send a panic wave through to a -600!

Er...sorry...I forgot the train is wrecking in Super-Slo-Motion.

Everything is OK , Gold is down over 1% , BAC is up almost 2% in pre-trading.

Our great leaders must have solved all our problems while we slept.

SheepDog-One's picture

All market conditions totaly rosy, staging great daily rallies...for widely expected massive JH QE3 diamond encrusted money drop? Huh weird...Problems all solved, no QE, carry on, great market MOMO's.

Gibu The Great's picture

BAC was up 2% premarket but as of 5 minutes ago it was down 2%.

This last 24 hr rise in stocks and drop in Au/Ag shows people just aren't getting it.

Au/Ag are being traded like all the manipulated paper con games out there with very competent criminal counterparties.

You buy Au/Ag to escape those criminal counterparties, not make a quick buck then dive right back in that criminal cesspool and get ripped off again.

jomama's picture

the good news is PMs just took a shit, so we can all breathe easy now.  at least for a few minutes.

or can we?

JSD's picture

MARKET IS "OVERSOLD"

TIME TO BUY...SO SAYS MR. BUFFET

r101958's picture

Let's just call this the pump, dump and prop game. Short term, in lieu of QE3, the big boys pump up (perhaps helping them on their way up) commodities (including PM's) and then sell at certain levels. They then prop up the market with those profits because they are fully invested in the markets with their almost free Fed funds. This serves two purposes; 1- it props up the stock market, for a while, without the normal Fed free money; 2- it suppresses the commodities market and, at least short term, keeps it within manageable ranges. PM's should continue to go up but these leaches will filch as much as possible on the way up.

Being sporadic doesn't mean unintentional. It just means irregular, scattered or isolated.
