"...you don't think it's showin'"
Have they ever enforced this rule before? We're looking at -3% S&P open.
P.S. Goldman circulating Fed FX swap line rate rumour to flip their longs. :P
they have 7 days left to get silver under $36. looks as if they are trying hard.
Why?
jpm option expiry. under that amount, jpm blows up.
You mean over.
Couldn't have said that a few days ago?
Why 7 days?
option expires JP Morgue perspires...
Ahhhhhhhh I see now.
Good to see you catching on;) Cramer just said 'we're down because...' oh, lord... he's coked up early.
Thanks for the ray of enlightenment.
According to "Wynter Benton" that is when their silver derivatives are triggered, by some number (60?) of trading days above $36. Those derivatives are apparently worth so much that said trigger would instantly bankrupt JPM among others, leading to a cascading failure that would trigger a silver panic and possibly the collapse of the US banking system.
Somehow I doubt that is the case, but who knows? These are weird times.
Very interesting. What could happen to paper silver and the stock market then?
I propose rule 69.
I concur.
Couple of more yeahs and we will pass rule 69, here on ZH ;)
I second.
Veto. It's a fucking sausagefest around here.
69 dudes!
Or a precursor to catch 22?

WSJ on Rule 48 -
"it means the designated market makers “will not have to disseminate price indications before the bell, making it easier and faster to open stocks. The rule was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission on Dec. 6, 2007 and has been used rarely since then.”
Ah, yeah, if you don't count the last few months.

Rule 96. Double the Power of Rule 48 and Twice as Ineffective
