what few people understand is that music has an effect on people. possibly 50 years ago - my youth - the average person could identify - that's church music. that's marching band music. that classical music. that's rock music. etc. and it had a function and a time and a place. now - there's rap music. it's everywhere 24/7. it has a function. few people know that. and the function is working. stupidity and violence for all. so yes, it is smoke and mirrors music you are hearing.
