Obama Issues Statement, "Strongly Condemns" Killing Of US Ambassador In Libya

Tyler Durden's picture

While everyone, everywhere is earnestly scratching their heads if under the 'Fairness Doctrine' the murder of a US ambassador to a recently "liberated" Muslim country is considered casus belli, or merely the signal to turn the other cheek, and eagerly awaiting Hillary Clinton to advise on the issue, here is the just released statement by the president.

Statement by the President on the Attack in Benghazi

I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives.

I have directed my Administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe. While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.

On a personal note, Chris was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States. Throughout the Libyan revolution, he selflessly served our country and the Libyan people at our mission in Benghazi. As Ambassador in Tripoli, he has supported Libya's transition to democracy. His legacy will endure wherever human beings reach for liberty and justice. I am profoundly grateful for his service to my Administration, and deeply saddened by this loss.

The brave Americans we lost represent the extraordinary service and sacrifices that our civilians make every day around the globe. As we stand united with their families, let us now redouble our own efforts to carry their work forward.

That'll help the economy along.

You didn't get the memo? Drones are good! Insurgents are bad!

That where non American peoples children. According to the media their parents don't feel greef when they are killed.

This pussy president doesn't have the balls to retaliate.

Zero Debt's picture

Retaliation against retaliation never really worked as justification.

this is one of those posts that ends up going into the history of the crusades. I don't have the energy this morning to do that. Suffice it to say that when there is constant back and forth retaliation.. it just means that either party didn't "win" the first time.

Your memory must be shorter than a gnat, NATO invaded/supplied weapons remember?  Those people that killed the US citizens...those are your "allies" like Pakistan.  Expect more of this nonsense as gas continues to climb to 8 a gallon over the next month and a half.

UGrev's picture

Not my allies.. Maybe president "suck-ass"s allies, but most definitely not MY allies. Suggesting that just because NATO propped them up/created them doesn't mean shit to me. I don't support NATO at all and I don't recognize NATO.

You're right about one thing.. I do expect more of this shit as a consequence of "no-balls-obama".

UGrev's picture

4 people have forgotten that we created the Mujahadeen and these clowns as well. 4 people don't ponder why we keep doing this same shit over and over expecting different results.  We either cut off all ties with this part of the world or end it once and for all. No more fucking around trying to make them our friend. They'll never be..

Minister Stevens had the misfortune to be slain "blue on blue" by the "good" terrorists, doing God's Work in Syria and expressing their displeasure over a movie trailer.

"Strongly condemn" is that like in A Few Good Men when Demi Moore "strenuously objects?"

Well, I guess it beats "bittersweet."  I'm reminded of another phrase from that same movie..."galactically stupid."

"Government has lost its ability to ever blindside me again. I no longer read the news and believe the written pages. I no longer assume the guilt of those I see arrested. I have learned to open my eyes and see a story other than the one that the government and the media want me to see." —Sunni Liston

How can this embarrassment of a president act outraged by this event? He is the one who armed these savages during the "arab spring". Chickens coming home to roost Barry? This is why we need to extricate ourselves from that part of the world, we do not have a clue as to how the minds of these savages function, nor should we care. Let them all destroy each other.

KidHorn's picture

I've always thought the solution in the middle east was to let Israel and the arabs go to war and settle things once and for all. The rest of the world would turn our back and let the dominos fall wherever they may.

This will be painted by the MSM as a triumph of Obama's brilliance before it is over, and the disciples will worship at the feet of their messiah even more devoutly.  This will not hurt Obama.  This will allow him to do all that is necessary to win the election.  Romney will be an afterthought.  The October surprise arrived a little early.

Zero Debt's picture

To please the masses, Obama needs to kill. In the eyes of the sheep, he is looking weak. To prove his worth to them, he must demonstrate brutality. They will feel safer, as this will reinforce trust that he will not use his violence against them and thus is sheltering them from evil. Thus, the electorate naturally demands that blood shall flow and the sooner the better. Besides, TV viewership is falling and the stations are craving for a propaganda fest. For best results, finish off with war bonds bought by the Fed and the election is a done deal.

hoos bin pharteen's picture

Thumbs-up for the observation.  Blood for votes.  This is what happens when a Presidency is run by its campaign committee, instead of vice-versa.

The question is who will he bomb - Syria?  An attack on Iran at this time would seem to be extraordinarily stupid.  MSM made no mention of the "coincidental" date for the attacks.

Ah yes, our dividend for the US investment in the Arab Spring. And delivered on September 11th, I'm sure just a strange coincidence. Our foreign policy is a fucking joke, and this President is now every tin-pot Islamic dickhead's prison bitch.

Of course, we have a Private Equity banker against him. What a fucking choice.

America used to be a country run by stand up individuals with serious balls. Teddy Roosevelt was a bad ass. His wife and mother died on the same day. Distraught, he left politics, went to work on a ranch in the Dakotas, walked into a bar and was hassled by a local hood, and he dealt with the problem by knocking the thug flat on his ass with an uppercut.

He then organized the town to run the asshole out of the district.

Look at the shit we are left with now.

Apocalicious's picture

Teddy Roosevelt also delivered a 90 minute speech after having just been shot in the chest. The bullet was slowed by a steel eye-glass case, and the pages of a thick tome in his vest. However, the bullet entered into his chest cavity, and realizing he was not spitting up blood, Teddy knew his lungs had not been punctured.

He also actively campaigned against an incumbent fellow Republican president, aggressively marshalling votes for a quasi-third party, placing second in the general election (behind Wilson and ahead of Taft the incumbent).

Here is the platform for Mr. Roosevelt's spin-off Republican convention.

"To destroy this invisible Government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day."

We have nothing but hacks compared to this man.

piliage's picture

Damn Right! Let's start the Bull Moose Party again!!! Fuck the libertarians, BULL MOOSE!!!

Down 1? Apparently we have some supporters of maintaining the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics.

Well, they have our IP addresses. Been nice knowing ya...

Teddy is probably one of the greatest US Presidents of all time. Modern Republicans should move in his direction and stop swinging from Reagan's nuts.

"They exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives."

America is committed to freedom?  Then why'd you sign NDAA 2012, Obummer?  America is committed to justice?  Then why in fucking hell is Corzine still not incarcerated, Obomber?  America is in partnership with nations?  Then why do you keep sending troops to invade other nations, Obumbler?

America doesn't stand in stark contrast to the killers of these people.  We just use the gubmint to do the same types of deeds.  How many civilians of other nations have been killed by drones again?  Nobel Peace Prize my ass.

Yea, Carter sucked. But the record since then is hardly brilliant is it?

Regan and Lebanon

Clinton and Somalia and Balkans

Bush attacking Afghanistan and Iraq but sucking up to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

Obama Supporting Arab Spring

USA allowing Israel to continue to build settlements to satisfy the religious wings in the US and Israel

And hey, Obama, when is Guantanamo closing?

Obama, sorry to say, naive guy puppet

Watauga's picture

Thanks, GWB.  Oh, wait, is he still President?

The truth is that weakness breeds contempt among evil men, and the U.S. appears horribly weak to the worst of those men.  This sort of thing will become commonplace and results from the cultural breakdown of the United States over the last 50 years.  We are lost, as a nation, and the cultural Left that rose in the Post-WWII era has won.  They will celebrate chaos and anarchy, as it feeds into their ultimate goal to impose Leftist/Statist tyranny.  The current President is the reflection and the puppet of this horror.

Sofa King's picture

If Obama was any sort of real leader, the planes would be on their way from Souda Bay by now.

There are no innocent bystanders there now, just casulties of a conflict they instigated.

Sofa King's picture

As a side note, America should not tolerate these types of messages from pissed-off MOSAD agents.

If Obama wants to snub Netanyahu, it's his privlige as the American President...we should not be forced into conflict, but American blood must be avenged and unfortunatly that means Libiyan blood, at this time.
