Obama Promises Bunker Busters To Israel If Netanyahu Delays Iran Invasion Until After US Elections

Tyler Durden's picture

Two days ago Obama held a press conference in which he openly prevaricated and disinformed the world about the true nature of his meeting with Israel PM Netanyahu. Today we find what was truly discussed, courtesy of Israel's Maariv newspaper, Spiegel and Reuters, which all tell us that it was a simple case of quid pro quo, namely that Barack Obama would supply Israel with bunker-busters and refueling planes if Bibi promised to delay an Iran attack until after the presidential election. The implication is simple - avoid an oil price shock this summer and delay it until next winter when Obama will be safely in his throne for another 4 years, at which point US citizens can fuel their cars with combustible urine following nights of binging on Everclear in hopes of ending their sorrows with alcohol poisoning, or better yet, all be in possession of the heavily subsidized flaming half ton block of metal known as the Obama Pinto, er, Volt.

Some more details on the latest horse trade from Israel Insider:

The US will supply Israel with bunker-busting bombs and refueling planes in return for delaying a strike against Iran until at least the end of the year, Maariv reported on Thursday. During their meeting earlier this week in Washington, Barack Obama promised Benjamin Netanyahu the latest deep-penetration arms from the US arsenal as well as airborne tankers to refuel strike jets necessary for an Israeli attack on Iran. In return, Israel will agree to not take any action until after the upcoming US presidential elections in November 2012.

Although rumors of the possible supply of new bombs and planes began even while Netanyahu was still in the US, Maariv’s claim, based on Western sources, is that supply of the equipment is conditional on postponing an attack. Obama gave Israel neither a green light for an attack, nor a red light, but rather a “bright yellow light,” sources told Maariv, adding that the yellow light is nearly red. Obama told Netanyahu that an Israeli attack, uncoordinated with the US, will have the most serious implications on regional stability and relations between the two countries. Maariv said that sources close to the recent meetings in Washington reported that it will be “difficult, if not impossible” for Israel to ignore Obama’s warnings.

Central to the difference of opinions is at what stage of the uranium enrichment process it will become necessary to use military force. According to intelligence reports, Iran has succeeded in enriching 120 kilogram (265 lbs.) of uranium to 20 percent purity. To make a bomb the Iranians require 250 kg (550 lbs) of 90% pure uranium. However, enriching from 20% to 90% is a relatively fast process, meaning Israel may see its window for action closing. According to Maariv, the US is prepared to wait until Iran has 250 kg of 20% rich uranium, but Israel considers the current developments beyond its own red line for action.

Perhaps it is time to make the presidential brent contango hump just a little bigger?

Forget Bunker Busters just drop the remaining inventory of Chevy Volts

redpill's picture

I believe that would violate the tenets of the Geneva convention, sir.  They clearly said NO dropping fire-prone $250k bailout cars, the excessive irony is considered an afront to humanity.  Napalming the shit out of innocent civilians is ok, though.  Er, I mean, spreading hot fiery liquid democracy.

MillionDollarBonus_'s picture

After we've dealt with Iran, Syria is next. We will not stop until we have spread democracy and freedom to every darkest corner of the world. Terrorism, Islamic Extremism and other general insolence simply will not be tolerated while America makes the rules.

Ruffcut's picture

War is piece, of shit.

Fuck it, send them the bunker busters RIGHT NOW, free delivery for the first 10 callers. Because it will blow your balls off after air express, prepaid orders only.

Bunker busters giving Israel more nuclear wepons that shoud work out well, maybe North Korea would like some too.

I am so proud and fortunate to live in a nation and under a government whereby decisions of the timing & planning for launching a major military strike on a large country in an oil-rich and extremely volatile region revolves around the date of the election of a fractional reserve bankster puppet (it doesn't matter who gets 'elected,' or 'diebolded' as I like to call it; they'll be said puppet).

I do hope the kids can straighten out the mess they're parents have made of the world, one day. But I suppose that's naivety getting the best of me.

RichardP's picture

I do hope the kids can straighten out the mess they're parents have made...

Why do you suppose the nature of the kids would be any different from the nature of the parents?  Haven't humans been making the "wrong" choice for quite some time now?  Why should the kids' choices be any different?  The kids would screw up the world in their own way anyhow.  So why should it make any difference that their parent's screw it up for them?

There have been moments in human history where justice and reason arose from younger generations and overwhelmed the idiocy of the old guard, but these moments have indeed been too rare, so statistically, you're more likely to be proven correct than not.

I just wanted to add a disclaimer to my statement above: Obviously, there's a lot of 'things' being 'reported' by a few main stream journalistic 'sources' here, that may or not be 100%, unadulterated horse shit, so, caveat emptor, bitchez.

In a separate meeting, Ogolfer Promises 250kg of 90% enriched uranium to its ally Iran if Ahmadineyad Delays Israel Invasion Until After US Elections.

Ahmadineyad was also asked to give the Syrian president al-Assad the same treatment the Iranian regime gave to Colonel Q-daffy.

"We need you to call al-Assad a ruthless zionist mad dog who needs to be put down, just as you did with the Lybian leader", Ogolfer was quoted, as he patted Ahmadineyad in the head.
"Now run along and be a good boy, Mahmud."

War on Iran postponed again.  Keeps happening.

History has many examples when countries getting involved in unnecessary wars paid a terrible price

  • The WWI. Czar Nicolas II got involved in the war with Germany. It was very stupid. Russia got the revolution, the Russian empire collapsed, and the entire Nicolas family was slaughtered.
  • The Germans with Sovet help started the WW II. Hitler was dead 4 years later. Until now, germany is still an occupied country. Unfortunately for Germany, Hitler was looking for a peace with England instead of destroying them. It was very stupid sinse historically England was the number one enemy of Germany and its people.

I expect that the USA and Israel leaders will be very sorry for starting a new WWIII. IMHO, after all said and done, Israel will be gone for good.

Since Yahu wishes to render both Obama and Iran harmless, the Greater Mideast War will begin sometime before the election. One Israeli torp into one American ship, "Iran did it", and its on.  c. July-August.

See, that was stupid, now you're going to be wrong on all four predictions in a few months.

DeadFred's picture

Epic amounts of uncertainty in this post. Obama may have made a promise for bombs after an election he may win and may honor the secret promise if he does win. All based on info on the state of uranium enrichment from intelligence (???) agencies that did such an astounding job on the whole Iraq thing some time ago. All in an article by some guy who may just be a disinformation mouthpiece.

We are pretty sure that the Obama and Netanyahu did meet.

SilverIsKing's picture

Perhaps Iran should ask Obama for some concessions under the threat of attacking Israel before the elections.

Totentänzerlied's picture

Last I checked the US intel agencies maintain that Iran has no warhead-grade enrichment program and possesses no warhead grade uranium (or any plutonium).

RichardP's picture

Your point?  Should we wait until Iran does have these things before we act?

If the goal is to prevent Iran from having these things, does it make sense to wait to act until after they get them.  Come on Totent, simple logic destroys your point - if the objective is to prevent Iran from getting these things.

AnAnonymous's picture

Simple logic, big return from judgement from the intent.

Iranians should not get the bomb because they will use it poorly (intent)

Simple logic: it follows US citizens should prevent Iranians from progressing on the path to acquire the bomb.

Simple logic: it follows US citizens should prevent Iranians from starting working at getting the bomb

Simple logic: it follows US citizens should prevent Iranians from preparing to start to work at getting the bomb

Simple logic: it follows US citizens should prevent Iranians from getting the idea of preparing to start to work at getting the bomb

Simple logic: as mind control is not yet that effective, it follows that US citizens should prevent Iranians from being born. Here we have one cause US citizens push their large campaign on unborn being a threat, so prevent them from being born.

Simple logic reaps a lot from an assumption made at start. It is simple logic based on US citizen assumption.

As the others say, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

MeelionDollerBogus's picture

Should we wait until Iran does have these things before we act?

YA.

The goal is NOT prevention.

The LEGIT goal is peace. This is not peace.

The ACTUAL goal is stealing oil.

Any time you attack someone "first" to prevent something "later" you're usually a murderer and a liar.

trav7777's picture

nevermind possesses NO WARHEAD nor even if they did have a pile of U235 any capability to deliver the damn thing.

Iran's experience is showing how hard it is even with industrial machinery to get sufficient quantities of fissile U235.

Their reactor, if it ever goes online, will produce enough plutonium for a bomb after a couple years of operation.  First refuel they do, reprocess the shit and boom.

Me thinks the arrogance and stupidity of the know it all kids of the 60's has led us to this mess.  They pissed away the hard work of the depression era generation and have bred an even greater since of entitlements babies in the OWS crowd.

Confused's picture

Why do you suppose the nature of the kids would be any different from the nature of the parents?

Because they haven't been fully beaten yet? They still believe that things can be better. I think we call it idealism.

liverdiefree's picture

Mostly though, they think the government can make things better for them. If you pay any attention to college "newspapers" and the opinions expressed this much is unfortunately clear. Those that have not been coopted by the "system" are rare.

Why don't they just cut to the chase and forget about busting bunkers.  What they really want to do is irradiate Tehran - you know bust bodies so they can't build any more future bunkers.   Playing Whack-a-Mullah forever can be exhausting.

NaN's picture

Obama first tried to make Isreal behave by making the usual subsidies contingent upon change, but congress squelched that right away. Looks like promising more weapons is the more acceptable method, plus it is a crafty way to get AIPAC on his side.
Brilliant, in the short term, depressing in the long. I hopium 2013 brings "oops, we don't have any extra bunker busters."

Alien Invader's picture

and by dropping bombs on iran we will also be helping their economy as they rebuild GDP will skyrocket. Our GDP also gets a boost courtesy of building da bombs. It's a win-win. Rejoice citizens and buy a Volt!

Ar-Pharazôn's picture

you're sure that bunker buster is enough to blow up every chance of iran to get a nuclear weapon? or this will increase their determination?

and you're really sure that the bunker buster can really blow up thier underground facilities?

Agree 100%.  Slap a Nobel Peace Prize medallion on the tip of everyone of those bunker busters to let those mother fuckers on the receiving end know who's really in charge.

I agree MDB...you sir are a voice of reason.

These people hated us for our freedoms.  So we tried to appease them by severely restricticting our freedoms via DHS/TSA/DEA and other Government three letter acronyms, and yet they STILL have the audacity to hate us!

They do not deserve to live!

Jacks Nipple's picture

You ARE clueless CE.  They dont hate us for our "freedoms". They have been irritated with us ever since Balfour had a jewish chemist friend who discovered you could synthesize acetate for smokeless gun powder, which the germans has cornered the market on.

I am not an anti-semite, i am a realist. The jews are ruining the humanity on this planet. They have this crazy notion of God's chozen ones and think they deserve on everything a silver platter  because of the holocaust. fucking BS.

Not up to your usual standards.  Where is the ass-kissing of some part of the federal government?  Still, including "general insolence" was a nice touch.

MeelionDollerBogus's picture

"while America makes the rules" is a tough call.

See in that region, Iran & Syria make some of the rules. China & Russia make more of the rules. America doesn't have the firepower to take on all at once & is aiming to take in 3 at a time. India & Pakistan have nukes & vested interest in Iranian oil.

Nice try on "Islamic Extremism" but it's pretty clear any cases put forth so far have US Gov dollars fueling them so now what you gonna say, mini-B?

SmittyinLA's picture

Hey you're really onto something, those Volts come with GPS standard, it would be a piece of cake to outfit those Volts with waferboard control surfaces for pinpoint rooftop delivery.

hidingfromhelis's picture

Instead, let's drop 500 "banker busting" Chevy Volts on Wall Street.  If we ever get serious about that issue there won't be such a "need" for bunker busting in Iran.

SilverIsKing's picture

I'm watching CNN waiting for this story to be reported.....and waiting...and waiting...ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Mr Lennon Hendrix's picture

What are they saying?  Breitbart was a terrist?

Oh, and Drudge is reporting it, too, so now we have two news sites that are far more creditable than CNN delivering the story.

redpill's picture

If it doesn't make you want to throw up your breakfast, it should. Here we are describing killing tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of Iranian civilians through collateral damage, and Obama's only concern is whether it happens before of after the elections? What a bunch of fucking psychotic megalomaniacs. Never did it enter their minds whether Iran should actually be attacked, just the political timing. Inhuman fuckers.

MsCreant's picture

Big vote up. I just voted my own comment up to give this comment another up. In their shoes, I'd want nukes too.
