Obama Promises Bunker Busters To Israel If Netanyahu Delays Iran Invasion Until After US Elections

Tyler Durden's picture

Two days ago Obama held a press conference in which he openly prevaricated and disinformed the world about the true nature of his meeting with Israel PM Netanyahu. Today we find what was truly discussed, courtesy of Israel's Maariv newspaper, Spiegel and Reuters, which all tell us that it was a simple case of quid pro quo, namely that Barack Obama would supply Israel with bunker-busters and refueling planes if Bibi promised to delay an Iran attack until after the presidential election. The implication is simple - avoid an oil price shock this summer and delay it until next winter when Obama will be safely in his throne for another 4 years, at which point US citizens can fuel their cars with combustible urine following nights of binging on Everclear in hopes of ending their sorrows with alcohol poisoning, or better yet, all be in possession of the heavily subsidized flaming half ton block of metal known as the Obama Pinto, er, Volt.

Some more details on the latest horse trade from Israel Insider:

The US will supply Israel with bunker-busting bombs and refueling planes in return for delaying a strike against Iran until at least the end of the year, Maariv reported on Thursday. During their meeting earlier this week in Washington, Barack Obama promised Benjamin Netanyahu the latest deep-penetration arms from the US arsenal as well as airborne tankers to refuel strike jets necessary for an Israeli attack on Iran. In return, Israel will agree to not take any action until after the upcoming US presidential elections in November 2012.

Although rumors of the possible supply of new bombs and planes began even while Netanyahu was still in the US, Maariv’s claim, based on Western sources, is that supply of the equipment is conditional on postponing an attack. Obama gave Israel neither a green light for an attack, nor a red light, but rather a “bright yellow light,” sources told Maariv, adding that the yellow light is nearly red. Obama told Netanyahu that an Israeli attack, uncoordinated with the US, will have the most serious implications on regional stability and relations between the two countries. Maariv said that sources close to the recent meetings in Washington reported that it will be “difficult, if not impossible” for Israel to ignore Obama’s warnings.

Central to the difference of opinions is at what stage of the uranium enrichment process it will become necessary to use military force. According to intelligence reports, Iran has succeeded in enriching 120 kilogram (265 lbs.) of uranium to 20 percent purity. To make a bomb the Iranians require 250 kg (550 lbs) of 90% pure uranium. However, enriching from 20% to 90% is a relatively fast process, meaning Israel may see its window for action closing. According to Maariv, the US is prepared to wait until Iran has 250 kg of 20% rich uranium, but Israel considers the current developments beyond its own red line for action.

Perhaps it is time to make the presidential brent contango hump just a little bigger?

But, he is treasonous.   He is downright hostile toward the constitution and the US in general.

Yes....but so was the last guy, and he served two terms.

If this is "slavery," it's voluntary.

In what way is it voluntary?  I didn't vote for this guy.  I didn't ask for the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th amendments to be nullified.   For posse comitatus to be eliminated.   I didn't vote to have a bevy of unelected czars leglislate from within bureaus...administrate this man's ideas?   I don't hink any of us did.   And, we are far beyond what Bush did.  Maybe Bush led the way, blazed the path - but in the end - this is what we did to ourselves - because we chose to 'punish' republicans in 2008.   I hated Bush (and fuck Jeb Bush - go away we don't want you)  I don't speak for myself but easily it could be me...we haven't yet begun to see what this guy, and this congress, will do.   Well, actually, we have...they just killed the 1st amendment with this beautiful peice of legistlation...anyone going to pick up a pitchfork yet?

No one's making you DO anything.

You can quit your job, live on the street, and never pay taxes again.  You're not important enough for anyone to give a flying fuck.

That's a far cry from, say, being woken up at 5am and beaten until you walk into a field and start harvesting rice, dontcha think?

I've lived a fairly comfortable life, myself, but somehow I've managed to realize that billions of people on this planet DON'T.

Well, yes, that is true but serfdom isn't freedom.   I had more liberty in the Bush years than I have now.   I had much more liberty during Reagan's years than I have now.

Also, I am tied to participating in the system because I have a chronic medical condition.   Therefore I need money to buy drugs to keep myself alive.

You may be blessed with good health, you man not be - but the fact of the matter is that every day this clown is in office he is making it harder to not do what he wants.  People are more and more dependent on the 'generosity' of this clown just to stay alive.   And every day it worsens.

People in states with heavily rural populations, or small populations are getting squeezed by this gasoline fiasco ONLY because this ass hat has some grand plan to save the globe.  Vermont for instance has a heavy population that lives anywhere from 30-60 miles from their jobs  - one way - and their jobs pay at most 10 bucks.  Not because the people aren't hard working but because that is all there is.   Every time the gas goes up another 50 cents - these people loose a significant portion of the salary.

50 million people are on foodstamps.  How many are on unemployment.

I don't mean to make light or ignore the shithole in this world that is Africa, or the middle east or anywhere where ignorance and force reign - but also it is a mistake to believe that only by wearing chains and being forced into labor are you a slave - ESPECIALLY given the freedom we've enjoyed in this country until those fucks flew the planes into the WTC - all conspiracies aside.  And, we've allowed it to happen.   Also, maybe ask the hundreds of thousands if not millions of folks in jail due to the drug war whether or not they feel like slaves.

Dead horse it beaten...

Oh god I'm laughing so hard I'm about to cry. I'm posting this on my favorite college buddy's Facebook page who thinks Obama is the second coming of christ.

Ben, I can call you Ben right? I've got a problem. Michelle won't let me watch her lesbian three way tonight if I start another war. Probably won't get elected again, but I don't really care about that. How about you wait until after the election to bomb Iran. Michelle says if we get to live here another four years she might even have a masive orgy with 30 chicks all handpicked by the best Russian sex trader I can find. We'll even give you a whole bunch of bombs stamped Made in USA. Deniability, glorious deniability. How bout it ben, I'll send you the tape, huh, huh, come on you know you want it.

So, we need to go to war to prevent Iran from securing a nuclear weapon which they will immediately turn over to a terrorist group to annihilate an American city thus causing Iran's complete annihilation but the death of everyone in an American city is an acceptable risk to insure that Obama is reelected.   I am sure Lawrence O' Donnel or Keith Oberman will be glad to explain this conundrum to me since I am too stupid to understand.

According to the press, we must go to war with Iran because they don't mind causing their complete and utter destruction by turning over their first nuclear weapon to Al Qaeda to annihilate an American city but the continued risk of loss of said city is acceptable to insure that Obama is reelected.  Keith Olberman or Lawrence O'Donnel are no doubt penning an enthusiastic diatribe complete with wild eyed hysterical raving, profile creating head turns (Olberman) arm flapping and mouth foam.

The more War talk, the less likely anything big and open occurs.

Bunker perpetrators are not going to solve this problem.  Maybe Project Thor.

Only a wider Arab-Persian Sunni-Shia war will allow the full targeting of Iranian political and technology targets - hundreds of miles from any border - hundreds of feet under entire mountain ranges.  You need low yield nukes to take care of that problem.  And that is still a holding action.  Iran is 80 million people over the size of the western US.  The most powerful military in the world couldn't hold the Korangal Valley.

But again, Nukes are a unifying national pride thing.  If the Mexican army struck the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, even the Amerikan Vegan tree-hugers for Christ would sign up for the first human wave into Chihuahua.  It would be easier for Israel to nuke America to kick-start their war.  They just need a dirty bomb with Russian ore.  Price tag.  $10 million.  The toughest organized criminals are the Russian Jewish mafia.  The only time I have even seen Jews kill other Jews over money.  There are tons of Russian nuke ore at Dimona waiting for a mission, all liberated over the last 20 years from Ukraine.

Right now its a full time job to create a humanitarian crisis at the Turkey Syrian border to start toppling Assad.  There are only so many Kurds to go around.

Then what, Jordan?  Are we really going to string up Queen Rania?

I do not understand the utility and scale of destabilizing these Arab governments.  The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is not your grandfather's Brotherhood wearing a fez in the midnight qasba.  Going forward, they will borrow yuan to buy Putin's suitcase nukes.

Until you can orchestrate an Persian attack on Saudi/UAE oil infrastructure you can't appeal to the Arab cultural center in Egypt to turn everything east of the Tigris into a shia kill zone. Again, those oil families are the Arab 1%.  Some illiterate with no prospects from Rosetta is not on that program. Pure folly.

My money is on an Israeli false flag on American soil or a major international asset.  And only if they want a lasting "protection."  This is what happens when the CFR and RAND crowd start believing their own propaganda.

One wonders if this is how Satan deceived Eve?  In the following Netanyahu quote, what could be detected? Is it fear? Is it hate? Or is it deception?

“Back in 2006,” says Lawrence M. Vance on Lew Rockwell today, “Benjamin Netanyahu was interviewed by Glenn Beck on CNN. You can read a transcript here. Speaking about Iran, Netanyahu said the following”:

Iran is Germany, and it’s 1938, except that this Nazi regime that is in Iran, that’s a religious kind of fanaticism, but it wants to dominate the world, annihilate the Jews, but also annihilate America. Remember, we’re the small Satan. You’re the big Satan.

We’re just the first way station en route to you. So there is this fundament fanaticism that is there. It’s a messianic cult. It’s a religious messianic cult that believes in the Apocalypse, and they believe they have to expedite the Apocalypse to bring the collapse of the West.

Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, is first trying to develop nuclear weapons and then going about his mad fantasy of global conflict. So he has to be stopped. I think when you have something as fanatic and as dangerous as this, the question now is not whether he should be stopped, but how’s he going to be stopped?

So I think the real problem is: Do we let this fanatic regime, this messianic cult of the Apocalypse, get their hands on atomic weapons? I think it’s folly.

And I don’t think it’s just an Israeli question any more so than Hitler was just a Jewish question. Hitler started with the annihilation of the Jews, but pretty quickly moved on to threaten the entire world. And America woke up late, after 6 million Jews died.

But in our case, you know, we don’t have to wake up dead in order for people to realize that he threatens America. We want to both defend ourselves, defend the Jewish state, certainly, but also defend America and free civilization against people who would extinguish our freedoms and our lives.

If you don’t act, it means that it will be the first time in the history of the world that a totally unstable, globally mad regime will have atomic bombs and the means to deliver them.

This means, a, that they will dominate the Middle East very quickly. They will make the Persian Gulf an Iranian pond. They will control the world’s oil supply. And they will probably use the weapons, first against my country, and then to intimidate or threaten Europe. They want to control the world.

Continues Vance: “This was in late 2006. I mentioned Netanyahu’s timeframe in my 2008 article 'How to Prevent a War with Iran.' There I also referred to some statements by Elwood McQuaid in the magazine Israel My Glory, published by the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. Said McQuaid":

Annihilating the Jewish state is merely a warm-up. Although the lynchpin of Ahmadinejad’s crusade is a first-strike success against his near neighbor Israel, the next move is westward to Europe and then on to finish off the hated United States.

Replace the name Hitler with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who rants against his selected scapegoats, Israel and the Jewish people, blaming them for every iniquity and offering the only ‘acceptable’ solution: genocide and annihilation of the Jewish state. His desire is not for a 1,000-year Reich but for a global, Islamic caliphate.

It sounds correct, mm. Given the systematic expansion of Israel’s presence since it was established, clamping on to Jerusalem, pushing settlements in the face of worldwide condemnation, you can see where Netanyahu doesn’t want any check on the growth and domination of his little Empire, particularly from an independent Iran.

Not only does Bibi want no nuclear development from his neighbors, he prefers to have a weak Iran in every aspect.

But as Vance says: “You cannot have a global, Islamic caliphate without first having one in the Middle East... And you can’t establish a global, Islamic caliphate without an air force and a navy:

“An estimated 45-50% of Iran’s small, obsolete air force is grounded by lack of spare parts or repairs. Iran’s pilots, who last saw action during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War, have critically little flying time. Iran’s air force lacks modern radars, communications or electronic warfare equipment.

“The mainstay of Iran’s air force remains about 60 ancient US-built F-14 naval fighters, F-4 Phantom strike aircraft dating from the Vietnam era, and some old US F-5 trainers. Iran also has a grab bag of some 25 Soviet/Russian Mig-29’s, a similar number of capable SU-24 strike aircraft, and some 20 Chinese outdated F-7 fighters. The US -supplied aircraft all suffer from metal fatigue and are more of a danger to their hapless pilots than an enemy.

“Iran’s bathtub navy has a few small frigates and three modern Russian Kilo-class submarines that are effective in shallow coastal waters. Iran’s sizeable numbers of Chinese anti-ship missiles on shore, at sea and carried by aircraft might score a few lucky hits on the mighty US Navy or oil tankers, as could its ample supply of magnetic mines.

“But any US assault of Iran, would open by surprise attacks from waves of cruise missiles and stealth aircraft against Iranian air bases, ports and communications hubs. Most of Iran’s air force and navy would be destroyed. Iran’s obsolete air defenses would be put out of action by missile and cyber-warfare attacks.”

As Vance says and Netanyahu knows: “Ahmadinejad couldn’t establish a global, Islamic caliphate if he tried.”

I'm thinking that Bibi is something akin to Rosemary's baby (or maybe it is simply a case of demonic possession). Has anyone caught his head spinning around lately?

Clearly passions run deep on BOTH sides. But, I do not see Iram beating war drums, while Bibi is out for blood, blood and more blood. (thinking here that good NEVER comes from evil acts)

The muslims admit that their hardest challenge will be in determining the anti-Christ from the real one as they will both appear to be the same initially. Bibi on the other hand wants everyone to know how certain he is where the evil lies

There is so much conflicting and false information out there. For istance: Osama bin Laden could not have been killed in 2001 as the arab newspapers reported AND been dumped in the ocean AND have been cremated (as the supposed leak indictated). However we know this last leak (Lulzsac) was an FBI operation so it is obviously information without merit.

On a similar vein Israel cannot only have 30 bunker busters of their own design AND have recently received 500 more bunker busters from the US AND need to wait for the US to deliver more after the election. What makes the most sense with Obama having promised his cronies that the attack will happen no later than Sept/Oct and the Israelis investing heavily in oil futures???

Well, obviously if Obama thinks he has the election well in hand (which now looks definite) then making war is more risky than delaying it, regardless of the Israeli heavy bet on oil futures, seems like the high percentage play.

... so, just keeping my eyes peeled for Petros Romanus (last pope and false prophet), the anti-Christ making his stage debut toward the end of the year and loaded up with popcorn and jujubees. Satan, Satan burning bright ... you will turn our day to night.

Folks,

While Israel gets everything it needs, including a full fuel subsidy for its MILITARY from the US delivered to its door, free, we gets crabs and ice water.

Its NO COINCIDENCE that since they began the FED they have become the richest and most powerfull group on EARTH. They had NO COUNTRY, NOW they have a country and by some measures the 4 largest Military in the world. And No Financial Problems, because they steal our MONEY.

WAKE THE F*CK UP !

This is from TheTruthseeker.uk.co today:

The following are 35 shocking statistics that prove that things have gotten worse in America….

#1 Median household income in the United States is down 7.8 percent since December 2007 after adjusting for inflation.

#2 There are 5.6 million less jobs than there were when the last recession began back in late 2007.

#3 The U.S. government says that the number of Americans “not in the labor force” rose by 17.9 million between 2000 and 2011.  During the entire decade of the 1980s, the number of Americans “not in the labor force” rose by only 1.7 million.

#4 In 2007, the unemployment rate for the 20 to 29 age bracket was about 6.5 percent.  Today, the unemployment rate for that same age group is about 13 percent.

#5 In 2007, 73.2 percent of all young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 that were not enrolled in school had jobs.  Today, that number has declined to 65 percent.

#6 Back in the year 2000, more than 50 percent of all Americans teens had a job.  This past summer, only 29.6% of all American teens had a job.

#7 When Barack Obama entered the White House, the number of “long-term unemployed workers” in the United States was approximately 2.6 million.  Today, that number is sitting at 5.6 million.

#8 The average duration of unemployment in the United States is nearly three times as long as it was back in the year 2000.

#9 Back in 1950, more than 80 percent of all men in the United States had jobs.  Today, less than 65 percent of all men in the United States have jobs.

#10 According to the Obama administration, about 20 percent of all jobs in the United States were manufacturing jobs back in the year 2000.  Today, about 5 percent of all jobs in the United States are manufacturing jobs.

#11 Sadly, more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities in the United States have been shut down since 2001.

#12 Back in 1980, less than 30% of all jobs in the United States were low income jobs.  Today, more than 40% of all jobs in the United States are low income jobs.

#13 The U.S. trade deficit with China during 2011 was 28 times larger than it was back in 1990.

#14 About twice as many new homes were sold in the United States in 1965 as are being sold today.

#15 Home prices in the 4th quarter of 2011 were four percent lower than they were during the 4th quarter of 2010.  Overall, U.S. home prices are 34 percent lower than they were back at the peak of the housing bubble.

#16 The total value of household real estate in America has declined from $22.7 trillion in 2006 to $16.2 trillion today.

#17 At the end of 2011, 22.8 percent of all homes in the United States with a mortgage were in negative equity.  That would have been unthinkable a decade or two ago.

#24 The U.S. dollar has lost 96.2 percent of its value since 1900.  You can thank the Federal Reserve system for that.

#25 In 1950, the United States was #1 in GDP per capita.  Today, the United States is #13 in GDP per capita.

#26 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 49 percent of all Americans live in a home that receives direct monetary benefits from the federal government.  Back in 1983, less than a third of all Americans lived in a home that received direct monetary benefits from the federal government.

#31 Back in 1965, only one out of every 50 Americans was on Medicaid.  Today, one out of every 6 Americans is on Medicaid, and things are about to get a whole lot worse.  It is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.

#32 Right now, spending by the federal government accounts for about 24 percent of GDP.  Back in 2001, it accounted for just 18 percent.

#33 In 2004, the U.S. government had a budget deficit of a little over 412 billion dollars.  This year, the U.S. government will run a budget deficit of over 1.3 trillion dollars.

#34 In 2001, the U.S. national debt was less than 6 trillion dollars.  Today, it is over 15 trillion dollars and it is increasing by about 150 million dollars every single hour.

#35 The U.S. national debt is now more than 22 times larger

than it was when Jimmy Carter became president.

Yep, we were sure better off with Bush in the White House.  Too bad he couldn't run for a third term.

"I've never seen a President — I don't care who he is — stand up to them. It just boggles the mind. They always get what they want. The Israelis know what is going on all the time. I got to the point where I wasn't writing anything down. If the American people understood what a grip these people have got on our government, they would RISE UP IN ARMS. Our citizens certainly don't have any idea what goes on."
Thomas H. Moorer (1912 - 2004) Admiral, US Navy & Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff during interview on 24 August 1983

You don't use bunker busters on civilian targets, so Israel has no need for them.

The bunker busters are to be used on the nuclear sites...not on civilians.  I do not think Israel wants to kill the citizens per say but remove the threat from being wiped off the face of the earth...which Iran want's to do.

This is insane!  A sane leader would not give weapsons to NOT use them.  What is Obama is doing is disconnecting himself from Israel by giving Isreal the weapons it will need to attack Iran.

Don't you just love the fact that Obama cares more about being re-elected rather than doing the right thing with an ally?  How pathetic is that!   And it is another violation of his promise to have a transparent government.  I am disgusted by the litany of his mis-management:

ObamaCare:  forcing American's to buy a product the gvoerrnment decides is best (where doees that end?) and then has the audacity to 1)exempt Congress (theirs is still better) and 2)hand out 1200 - 1700 waivers to companies to the tune (per a government official today!

Fast & Furious:  Obama, Holder, et al lose thousands of guns to the Mexican Cartel and costs a Border Guard his life along with countless innocent Mexicans.  Don't forget those involved have NOT be fired..moved or promoted only.

Green Energy:  Captial waste of our tax dollars...Solyndra (and 4-5 other solar companies bankrupt), Fiskar money taken out of the US to build a car that we cannot afford to buy), Volt (another car that is too expensive and catches fire)...and now he is asking for a BILLION more!!!

Keystone:  He wants that delayed so he gets the environmentalist's votes

Israel:  Shunning them, and Jews here, until he needs the votes.  (And the aforementioned withholding of assistance until after the electrion.)

Newest Mortgage program:  Helps speculators and banks not American's.

National Debt:  Unbridled spending that has resulted in a credit downgrade for the US and no end in sight.  We are drowning!

Devaluing our money (Stealing):  Openly has stated they are intent on devaluing to such an extent that countries that hold our debt are looking to used currancies other than the US for business transactions!

Low interest rates:  These nicely cripple the economic/financial principle of saving...what's the point because there is no real return on your money.

Additional taxes on the middle class:  Stealth taxes galore (a new tax on every stock transaction).

And though I could go on I will close with the most egrigious trampling of the Constitution:

We American's are now subject to arrest and imprisonment without trial, warrant, phone call:  Gives you the warm fuzzies, doesn't it?

Shame on you!

The sourcing for this report is so vague, I'm surprised that even you, as negative a person as you are, would breathlessly report this as a fact.  How do these people or you (in particular) have any idea whatever what was actually discussed in their meeting?

Obama first tried to make Isreal behave by making the usual subsidies contingent upon change, but congress squelched that right away. Looks like promising more weapons is the more acceptable method, plus it is a crafty way to get AIPAC on his side for the reelection.

Brilliant, in a self-serving short term way, depressing in the long. I hopium 2013 brings "oops, new information has come in, we need to hold off on those bunker busters."

I wonder if Obama has ever given one thought to anybody except himself and his precious re-election.  If you liked his first 4 years you'll love the next 4!  He's risking the future of the Jewish Nation, our only true ally in the middle east, because he's afraid he might not get re-elected?  I just hope there's enough of us at the ballot box in November to send his sorry ass back to Chicago or Kenya or wherever he's from!
