Obama Reacts To Ugly Jobs Report - Live Webcast

Shots for "fairness", "duty", "fault" and any other crowdsourced suggestions. No shots for "Solyndra", "Choom gang", "Eric Holder" or "record part-time jobs." If recent history is any indication, look for the S&P to slide.

I had a couple visit last night. They were sadly discussing the fall of American Idol since Simon left. I fucking kid you not. Holy shit are some people in for a wake up call.

RichardENixon's picture

Did they have any opinion re: whether the Kardashian show is better than Real Housewives of Orange County?

jumbo maverick's picture

I'm gonna get in on all this reality tv. I have a new reality show that I'm bringing out. It's called Backyard Sawmill. So I set up some cameras on tripods in my backyard. I also got a helmet cam mounted on my garden tractor. The show consists of me driving over tree branches with the mower blade running.
Only glitch is I can't get the lumber cut to the customer specs.

My wife thinks I'm crazy. I think it's brilliant. I soon hope to be a millionaire.

I save my real tears for the cracking backbone of all that is worth saving in America:  The Finance Industry.

Please, please Mr. O'Barry, restore the integrity of our capital markets!

Sob . . . sob . . . please put the brakes on HFT . . . or Mr. Market is a deadman.

Funny how notions of fairness can be mocked by those still able to make it work for them.  Of course, the definition for that is "tool."

At least they take themselves seriously, I guess.

If this clown gets voted back in to office, this nation will be irretrievably doomed.

if this clown or romney get into office, this nation is doomed.....no matter, they are the same, both with the same masters.......

Like this whole issue of healthcare.

Republican stalwarts are pressing hard on the Obamacare issue and listing Romney as the panacea of repealing healthcare, but those same stalwarts neglect to even listen to Romney's own words on this issue.

Here is a very recent comparisson of the two DICKtators' own words -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyIXuce36gM&feature=player_embedded

It's like Afghanistan.  Obama was very open with escalting that, but the left believed him to be a peace candidate, as they selectively heard what they wanted and nothing more.

Firing Pin's picture

Whaaaa?  He IS the peace candidate. His Nobel prize told me so...

i-dog's picture

If any clown gets voted back into office, it's irretrievably doomed. Get rid of the office!

Secede and let each state look after its own business. Some can go left; some can go right; some can form alliances; some can go it alone; some can even try freedom (with a nuke or two on hand to keep neighboring busybodies out of their pockets)!!!

Visualize 'Vermont carry' ... with no federal courts!

Long-John-Silver's picture

What makes you think Romney would produce a different result? When you are presented with the current Evil choice and a supposed less Evil choice you still end up with Evil. Obamacare has been upheld by a Supreme Court packed with a majority of Progressive Judges which have no qualms eviscerating the document they swore to uphold and protect. The USA is now irretrievably doomed. It has been replaced with the USSA (United Slave States of Amerika). It's over. It's time to leave if you are young and want any sort of future that does not include Slavery to the State.

Ookspay's picture

With a pussy ass attitude like that, yeah you should leave. Some of us will stay and fight to repair and restore America! There may be 3 or 4 countries where one once stood, but we will not run from our homeland!

NidStyles's picture

You aren't doing shit, and I know this for a fact because you're on ZH calling others pussy and not out in the streets doing what you say you will.

You are the typical American. All talk, and no action.

"You are the typical American. All talk, and no action."

Now, the next time you and your loser buddies have a little OWS circle jerk, lemme know. I will meet you there and toss dog turds at y'all so you have something to eat. How's that for action? What a fuckin' tool!

azzhatter's picture

You punk ass OWS are pussies. If you had any balls you'd be marching in DC where the real criminals reside

therearetoomanyidiots's picture

Hurray, not everyone on this site is a dumbass.  We have a chance, albeit small - but that chance starts with removing this ass clown from office.  Period.

Otherwise we will face true tyranny.

Just look at the 'roll your own' cigarette stores being shut down all over the country tonight at midnight.   A stroke of obama's pen.  It's on drudge.

Ookspay's picture

Yessir, you know you have lost your freedom when the government forbids you from rolling your own cigarettes.

Fuck, I miss freedom. Fuck, I hate nanny state liberal progressives. Fuck, I hate the cowardly little republican slimeballs that just roll over time after time...

The US is suffering the ugly side of globalization.

When globalization first started it looked so good - huge export markets for US products, lots of opportunities for American companies to produce their products abroad, and the world economy hummed along.

Now the downward spiral has begun as everyone (including China, where vendors are laying off people) is forced to compete and see who can work, and live, the cheapest (unless you win the DNA lottery, or are a CEO of a huge multinational corporation).

There is no escape from the law of diminution at the margin, except being born rich.

Unforunately Western governments have not caught on that they must play, too. They keep spending and increasing their payrolls, when they also need to see which government can operate the most efficiently.

For example: in Boston, the MBTA just raised fares 15-25% (it has to meet budget every fiscal per the Legislature).  So what do they do? They expand the Transit Police force by hiring 3 new Lt./Sgt. supervisors at 6 digit salaries.  This while the train track infastructure needs major work, and buses are getting eliminated as a result (and more to come probably next year, along with another fare hike).  So my ride is cheaper and break down more, but there are more cops on the trains.  Thanks, MBTA!

Developed countries have transferred most of their wealth to the Third World, particularly the Middle East (oil) and China (cheap production). What other result could have occured in the US except a grinding down of American workers, investment and production?

Take a look beyond the US borders. As an example, Costa Rica (huge in the tech and online gambling gaming sector) is chugging along with 7 percent growth, as is much of Latin America (minus Argentina).

If I was a bettor, would I bet on America?

Hell no.

You probably have a much better chance of success taking the Jacksonville Jaguars' money line in New England on a Sunday afternoon.

roadhazard's picture

You can't stick the American wage earner in the middle of third world wage earners and expect them to compete. Corporate knew this. Americans need to be beat down to the third world wage. Anyone that voted for NAFTA should be hung.

i-dog's picture

The problem was not with 'globalisation' of labour ... the problem was with not replacing those boring and dangerous jobs with more productive and satisfying jobs suited to the education standards being promoted and [allegedly] achieved at home.

For example, I was involved early on as an advisor in the automation of some large multinationals. Upon being presented with a plan for a new computer system, the typical senior exec would say: "Great! How much is the headcount reduction?". And I'd say: "No. We're not going to reduce headcount ... we're going to apply those heads more productively in product/service development and customer service". They'd always agree, and get excited with the possibilities for further expansion, after the benefits had been explained.

Then they fell asleep at the wheel as the new era of quarterly bonuses based on immediate savings (ie. headcount reduction) came together with the engineered bubbles in LBOs, dotcoms, and then property speculation.

Product development and improved service delivery were just "too hard" when a quick buck could be made from Greespan's very deliberate largesse. Only the Germans stayed on the path.....

azzhatter's picture

the government and the CEO's have always hated the middle class and the upwardly mobile. When people get a little money they become independent. Can't have that, need that dependency, just like the slaves. They used to tell the slaves they were better off than they were in africa, just like you hear now, at least you have a job

X86BSD's picture

You are right. Globalization is a race to the bottom. Cheapest wages, labor, living standards, environmental standards, etc. It's a train wreck to the bottom. Choo Choo!

DosZap's picture

Globalization is a race to the bottom.

No, its their way of initializing Socialism Globally, and making all countries living stds and wages on Par.

This is why the destruction of the Middle Class.

There are ALL the 8-$10 an our jobs you could want in the service sector.Signs ALL over everywhere I go, HELP WANTED.

After that, you had beeter have a trade, or a special education in a field they need.

ZeroAvatar's picture

Yep, the feed store in town has had a help wanted sign now for going on 8 years.  Just think:  bust your ass 40 hours a week, .gov takes 1/3 ($3.35), leaves $6.65/hour

take home, subject to all those taxes CHS was writing about.  No wonder people can't WAIT to sign up./sarc

Shizzmoney's picture

Both the Romney campaign, and the Obama campaign, are full of fail.  I studied PR, and the last thing Americans' want to hear from their elected officials is that they are "gambling" on America.

Thanksfully for both POTUS campaigns, the average IQ of the American populace is lower than the age of women Anthony Weiner tweeted his dong to.
