Obama Threatens Veto Of Boehner Plan
Just because we needed some fireworks, here is Obama, providing the catalyst. Watch for a very indignant Boehner TV appearance in T minus 5...4...3... And yes, this will not help the consensus-building effort.

Oh this will not fly at all. The markets have been acting and baking in debt ceiling raises for the past few weeks and as a worse case scenario they saw the temporary raise approach by the GOP being approved so that is why the markets are not only ignoring but baking it into the cake since they know the President has no other option.
I should state however that the President was being baited on his weakness by the Santa Clauses of perpetual freebies on MSNBC, Morning Joe into questioning why he is not taking the "Veto" approach since relenting on what is offered by the GOP is a sign of weakness and him being a Lame President entering the elections leaving him nothing to campaign on.
As a matter of fact they had one of his new "White House Economic MIT thingamagiggy Keynes Voodo Superheros" PR people on at 7am dispelling any notion that he would veto a bill since he is boxed in by the Wall Street owners of govt and he is so adamant about raising the ceiling that it is not even on the table so this "Veto" comes as a surprise. If he wants to veto and is sincere this explains the market reaction so expect us to close on the lows of day until this is deemed a rumor once Jamie get's him on the phone and tells him exactly who his daddy is.
Regardless he has no choice and this is more dramatics to pretend they are working diligently to earn their paychecks. The real hangup is the Tea Partiers who refuse to vote for this and are telling them this is why we were sent to office in 2010 and more of us will be coming in 2012 since you clowns are finally unmaksing yourselves as one party determined to play WWF while always resorting to spending more taxpayer money..Well welcome back to America because the money spent now is not only not buying votes but losing votes in 2012.

And here I thought bills had to pass the senate also BEFORE the president could veto it. Silly me….must be that new 'super congress' that can take things directly to the president without voting on it….or something like that.

If GOP passed the two-step nostrum which will erupt the debt ceiling issue right before 2012 election, then I am done. Gotta Veto it and default the AAA treasury like subprime and take the GOP down with it. God damn the average joe-6-pack. Oh, hell, they are already damned.
In the meantime, right across the whitehouse, the leader of GOP lamented:
If we give in and surrender a blank check to that BO, then we are done and will be eaten alive with the Tea leaves. Better finish that specious BO first before HE took us down. After all, there is no recrudescence of economy with a farrago, or for that matter, ton, of liquid sauce provided by Another BB.

God damned the GOP for not enhancing the revenue, read, tax, side of the equation.......After all , the proud Demon party is responsible for handing out some 80 million checks each and every month to its indigent sponsors......now, those poor children are going to eat paper towel for dinner and their parents will have to talk with the latest I-MAD. Sad, sad. Censure the GOP and not pass the 2-step nostrum by offering another nostrum filled with savings from future wars,.....

Sorry the catastrophe is also the Tea Party House Republicans, who will not give an inch on any measure and have stalled the US government into dysfunction. I expect the 14th amendment option is being studied quite closely now that Congress is unable to perform its Constitutional functions.
Yeah. Imagine people going to DC and doing what they were elected to do.

If you mean by that, doing what they were elected to do, to be pigheaded and uncompromising with other representatives in the country, then I disagree with you. That is happening, but should it be happening?
Imagine that, Boehner is setting up to blackmail Obama next week with this whole charade of a plan. That is not healthy politics, not when we have Boehner acting like a shadow president. I didn't vote for Boehner for him to be acting like he's the president. There are going to be hard feelings long after this debacle is over, the era of bipartisanship, whatever was left of it, may be gone for years to come and is the icing on the cake for all of the BS that we have been seeing. The GOP is attempting to strongarm the Dems into this take or leave it final attempt next week, if I were the Dems I'd tell Boehner to jam it. This is clearly an attempt to humiliate and embarass Obama instead of working middle ground with him. The hard tea partiers are not with Boehner, if this comes out with only 220 or so votes to pass, it looks like a partisan measure 100%, which is what it really is, not a good faith effort to begin to address this.
What is appalling in all of this are two major points:
- This country still has a huge problem even if one of these packages make it to law; no one seems to be looking ahead to major compounded unfinished business. Deficit spending and debt increases are projected as far as the eye can see until the USA is indeed found to be insolvent and no longer able to pay bills outside the Ponzi. The American people are not really aware about the Ponzi structure involved. The debt vigilantes may still be coming sooner than we think. I wouldnt lend money (or most of us) to someone who exceeds his income by 40% regularly and maxxed out all his credit cards. Yet we excuse this with Uncle Sam. Why? The American people as a whole are naive enough to think if a measure is passed that the crisis is over, even hinted to by Boehner on his speech Tuesday night. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are so far in the hole I am convinced that we will never get out this time, due to selfish interests and pigheaded politics. If the US was a business, it would have been Chapter 11 back in the 1980s when the deficits began to get out of control, and certainly by Bush W years.
- Geither is not being asked to explain how he will repay the $350 billion or so he has appropriated since May 16 from other funds to function the Treasury. If this were done properly, this $350 bn comes right off the top of any borrowing proceeds that come in to repay whatever and wherever the fund is that Geithner has drained since May to run things. Once more, no one is talking about this issue whatsoever and is a huge issue in its own right to me. The American people are not educated on this question by the media, and they need to be educated.
"Boehner Plan?"....Man, am I glad you clarified that name...I thought it was "The Bonehead Plan."
