Oil Spikes As Netanyahu Threatens Iran

Tyler Durden's picture

The first on-the-record comments, regarding the bombing in Bulgaria, from Israel's Netanyahu are not the most politically correct. His ire with the world's ignorance of Iran's terrorist-fostering position is very clear as are his threats and promises for retribution. Not good. And sure enough, WTI crude is spiking on this news to $91.75 (18% higher than its EU-Summit lows) back to 2-mointh highs. Via Bloomberg,

  • *NETANYAHU THANKS BULGARIA FOR AID TO VICTIMS OF TERROR ATTACK
  • *ISRAEL'S NETANYAHU SAYS IRAN, HEZBOLLAH CARRY OUT GLOBAL TERROR
  • *NETANYAHU SAYS ATTACKS WERE PLANNED IN INDIA, THAILAND
  • *NETANYAHU SAYS HEZBOLLAH ACTED AT BEHEST OF IRAN
  • *NETANYAHU SAYS TOO DANGEROUS TO LET IRAN HAVE NUCLEAR ARMS
  • *NETANYAHU SAYS ISRAEL WILL PURSUE, PUNISH TERRORISTS WITH FORCE
  • *NETANYAHU SAYS WORLD MUST RECOGNIZE IRAN AS TERROR THREAT

Meanwhile, as a reminder, a 4th carrier group is on its way to the Gulf...

and sure enough wholesale and retail gas prices are on the rise with their normal lag...

I don't see how higher priced gasoline helps BO in any way. Increased sabre rattling needs to lead somewhere before the election, or what's the point?

Just like a big ZIT coming to a head.... Syria is the lynch pin. Where is al-Assad? http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/19/world/meast/syria-unrest/index.html

If Assad lets loose his missles it is game on! I believe this is next.

The way it will play out, is that the Joint Chiefs of Staff will sit down with BHO and tell him, "X has happened, you must do Y", and he will do it.

Israel wants war with Iran, that is abundantly clear.  But they won't go it alone.  So they're dragging us into it. World War I began this mess, and the atomic weapon started the stopwatch.

If I am not mistaken, Israel does not have a government because one of the parties in Net's coalition withdrew.  They will require elections.

Iran and Hezbollah...wow what a surprise.

some kind, any kind of proof or evidence coming in 5...4...3...2...1

*crickets*

that's what I thought, just like when they killed Bin Laden and promptly dumped his body in the drink.

no proof, no evidence, just the word of the PTB's that it was the gospel truth.

this Netanyahu may just be the second scariest human on the planet next to Hillary, who clearly has a direct line to Satan.  he even linked this with Iran's nuclear ambitions, though what the fuck one has to do with the other is beyond me. I would like to think people aren't this stupid, that they are not buying this canned, pre- packaged war hype but then I scanned the comment section at fox news...screaming for blood from behind a keyboard, so very brave isn't it?

anyways this whole thing is so absurd and yet so very predictable, how anybody could still believe it is a sad comment on the willful ignorance and gullibility of people and why this tired, played out script keeps working no matter how many times they run it.

What do you think the armed conflict in Tora Bora was? When Pat Tillman found out just what the REAL mission was there, he was writing home that they were taking that providence to exhume Bin Ladens body. That's what got him "Friendly Fraged".

He was a good man and though he was there to fight for all the right reasons, until an inconvienient truth arose. Sad part that proves my story is, SPC Tillman "puffed" red smoke (cease fire) and the shooting didn't stop on his position until he was killed.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/12/pat-tillmans-father-to-ar_n_680128.html

Tim Osmond, aka Osama Bin Laden was laid to rest in Tora Bora with a proper Muslim burial in 2001, (CIA has the pictures of the funeral taken by an armed drone in that area) with his head facing Mecca, not the sea floor. They wanted his body to be served up as an October surprise for Bush's re election bid but the Tillman story already hit the State Department and they couldn't use it at that point. True story. Search: Bush's '04 October suprise.

Bought off Diebold instead and saved the body on ice for a future card to hold. Obama released his Certificate of Live Birth posted on the White House .Gubb web site which was found fraudulant almost imidiatly and then the Bin Laden kill was plastered all over the news the next day to bury his little BC problem, or lack there of. Now the last remaining survivor from "SEAL's Team Six" is trashing Obama in the news right now.

Search: Osama Bin Ladens body found on a CIA aircraft in Dover Delaware. March 7, 2012 That was shortly before the announced "assasination" of Bin Laden on May 1,2012. Reference: Stratford Files.

The "Master mind" behind Al Qaeda has been, and always will be the Pentagon. Tim Osmond, aka Osama Bin Laden was a CIA tool though, just like Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama that can't even pass EVerify, that's our El Presidente'! Great due diligence vetting him huh?

RIP Pat Tillman. Your sorley missed.

October Surprise GDubbya Bush. '04

From those fair & balanced folks at Newsmax

Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 1:22 a.m. EST

Madeleine Albright: Bush Planning Bin Laden October Surprise

It was bad enough on Monday when
Washington state Congressman "Baghdad"
Jim McDermott suggested that President
Bush could have captured Saddam
Hussein long ago, but moved only when
the news would have had maximum
political effect.

But now, former Secretary of State
Madeleine Albright is telling
reporters that the Bush administration
may already have captured Osama bin
Laden and will release the news just
before next year's presidential
election.

On Fox News Channel's "Special Report
with Brit Hume," Roll Call reporter
Morton Kondracke recounted Albright's
comments to him during an encounter
before Tuesday night's broadcast,
while she was waiting in the green
room to appear on another show.

Kondracke said the former Clinton
official approached him and asked, "Do
you suppose that the Bush
administration has Osama bin Laden
hidden away somewhere and will bring
him out before the election?"

Kondracke said that Albright didn't
seem to be joking, explaining, "She
was not smiling."

He shot back, "You can't seriously
believe that."

Albright replied that she thought a
bin Laden October Surprise
orchestrated by Bush was "a
possibility."

Reacting to Albright's bizarre
outburst, former Reagan administration
drug czar Bill Bennett told Fox News
Channel's "Hannity & Colmes": "It's
nuts. It's staggering. It's paranoid.

"Maybe this is the style of thinking
she'd grown accustomed to in the
Clinton administration," he added.
"Shame on her for saying that, as a
former secretary of state of the
United States."

Phony outrage is so amusing. Bennett gets extra points for working in that Clinton slam. They're mad at Maddie for ruining their big surprise!

Scary stuff. The psychopaths that run this empire were chomping at the bit for a nuclear holocaust in 62 when JFK and Kruschev denied them. In 62 the citizens were horrified and in a panic. Today nobody seems to care. Perhaps they don't believe anyone is crazy enough. You better believe they are that crazy and worse.

If I read this right, Zero Hedge is saying Netanyahu is angry because the world does not recognize "Iran's terrorist-fostering position."

One factor that the world does seem to be recognizing is that Netanyahu is a madman; which would be okay in rhetoric but it is not okay when the leaders of the U.S. government widely support not only his madness but his threats of aggression.

Israel, as is well known, has been attacking (with U.S. help) Iran’s nuclear program. That is an act of war in itself in that there is no evidence that this program is on the way to producing nuclear weapons.

The U.S. is fighting Israel’s wars, including arming the rebels against Syria, and it has resulted in U.S. combat deaths and millions of innocent people slaughtered. If the U.S. does not abandon its support for the madman Netanyahu, this cherished country of ours will go right down the drain with him.

This whole Iran thing is a tempest in a teapot.  The Iranians are not blockading anything.  They import 90% of their gasoline from India and import 90% of their food, their hard currency is oil exports of which 60% flows from tankers.  Their oil transport facilities are vulnerable to a few cruise missles.

These people are nuts but not stupid, they know we are goading them into being stupid and taking a shot at us or Saudi Arabia, and their country is set back 50 years in the next 30 minutes thereafter.

And Russia and China can do jack shit.  They lack the naval assets.

Just ride the oil trade and relax.
