It is a way to bring them all together. Don't we have a chemical weapons stockpile that is just sitting there gathering dust? What about those neutron bombs that leave all the buildings standing but fry the sheeple? We can get the Marxists, nazis, labor unions, smelly hippies, and garden variety socialists all in one operation.

What I find interesting by these crowds is their diversity. They share no common goal or ideal. This makes them incredible difficult for infiltration by agent provocateurs, as any action or opinion is seen as a minority by the American public.

Even the armchair public relations agents are having a difficult time swaying internet opinion. If I was part of the system and had something to lose I'd be kind of worried right now.

Wrong, their common goal is against Wall Street and the Greedy Banksters. That's why they went to the their houses too.

NYPD has now become the Thugs. Not the Peaceful protestors.

What 'Mayoro Bloomberg' and the NYPD want is to turn the Occupy Wall Street Crowd protest into a Rome thing.

Bloomberg and the NYPD thugs attacking innocent people walking down the street with Pepper spray and Whatever will do just that.

They are inciting the esculation of this whole thing. Occupy Wall Street.  I remember when the tea party got high jacked by the Neocons of America and they brought AK's, automatic rifles and hand guns off all types to these protest. Everybody said it was their right to do. Lets get this straight. Guns are O.K. but speech is not.

If on equal footing, these people would do the same, bring guns. I have family that lived in Russia during the final days of the Soviet Union. What you never heard about in media was what the enforcers wound up ultimately doing to reign in beaurocrats. If our situations are as similar as I think they are the pool of enforcers will begin to shrink in 2013.

This happens because a State is a model and the harsher the enforcement becomes, the inevitable arises where the enforcers families are so affected as to turn on their masters.

This effect is avoided in smaller, resource rich nations and smaller populations. These people trolling cant wait to see the violence. They are mentally ill and largely uneducated. When and if the violence starts they will change their tunes as they begin to see how such affects their own family.

OWS declaration.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts. *

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Education is a human right?  And which education would that be?  The party time education or the indoctrination education?

Asking the "system" for "free" programming is ignorant.  Education only has a price to convince the swarms that it represents some value and is therefore to be desired by materialistic masses.

Knowledge acquisition is a personal responibility.

it is a right if you think your entire ancestors' lifetime taxes should be going towards education instead of half of it going to wars. Also who said only educational loans cannot be discharged in bankruptcy? that' is subsidy to banksters who get to use government power to their own advantage. So some idiot can buy 4 homes with no money down then just walk away with only 7 years of credit damage but a college kid becomes an indentured servant when he educates himself to become a more productive member of society? Sure, there should be quality education but you can do that by controlling colleges and admission but by loans to 18year olds.

don't you get your k-12 "free"?  why only some education and not the other? why is only some knowledge acquisition a personal responsibility?

It is all about nation's priorities. government has plenty of money. Right now it is going to support neocon's objectives in eurasia for the already wealthy. And Kock brothers don't want college kids...they want ignorant soldiers who will die for oil. But worst of all, citizens brainwashed into thinking that they deserve less than a fair shot at happiness.

@Hi Ho Silver: Don't throw the baby out with the bath water! ... that's a pretty comprehensive list that covers nearly every grievance against the government and big corporations - of all sides of the political spectrum.

As with any compromise/consensus (including the US Constitution!), there will be things that each party to it will be unhappy with ... but, IF it gets any mainstream publicity by the presstitutes, it will strike a chord with the sheeple. That is a good thing.

FWIW, education of children IS a human right ... it's just that some of us think it is the responsibility of the parent to either provide it personally (by home schooling) or pay for it (by sub-contracting it to a school/teacher).

Sun, 10/16/2011 - 21:46 | 1780013 Hi Ho Silver
Hi Ho Silver's picture

I copied the list into Excel and examined each point individually on its merits.  I posted a comment on the one I disagree with.  No baby out with the bath water.  But a bunch of lazy students demanding free education (<== perception if not reality) compromises the integrity of the list.

For my views on child education see my reply to Ben Dover.

Thanks for the reply. I saw your comment below and understand [now] that we are on the same page there.

As for the others, I disagree with 4 out of the 21 points, but still think it is a good list that addresses many of my other concerns with government (since the corporations only do what government allows them to do -- either through legislation or negligence). I'd probably find more to disagree with on Ron Paul's ticket than 4 out of 21, given his vagueness on some issues.

Pretty much the whole list we call the "Bill of Rights" were not rights before they were seized. You get rights the moment you have the power to take them and keep so so long as you have the power to hold them.

But the rights idea aside, it is a really good idea to educate your people. You need a populace with a clue in order to keep pace with the rest of the world.

Sun, 10/16/2011 - 21:36 | 1779990 Hi Ho Silver
Hi Ho Silver's picture

The U.S. populous is pretty well educated.  They still don't have a clue.

Whether we are keeping pace with the rest of the world is a matter for debate.

Homeschool your children and teach them knowledge acquisition is a personal responsibility or suffer the consequences for ceding your parental responsibilities to the State.

Teach them how to think or the State will teach them what to think.

"Last of the Hippies" would make a great documentary.

I would like to find one of these so called "hippies" not driving an Outback and also protesting Obama's wars.  The hippie movement went south fast after they bought into Reagan's American Dream, all while talking bad about the Actor President.

The hippies did one thing, they protested the War, but after the war ended they gave up and bought big houses, nice cars, and became liberal Democrats, who, obsessed with the "Greater Good", adopted socialism and communism, instead of practicing real fair trade.

There are no more hippies, and maybe there never were.   I am reminded that George Harrison went to Berkeley to meet up on Haight/Ashbury, but promptly left because the "hippies" were drugged out idiots.

Maybe hippies are more like fairies; they live in story and fables, and were more a creation of myth than one of reality.

Who Do the White Shirt Police Report to at Occupy Wall Street Protests?

Financial Giants Put New York City Cops On Their Payroll

Corporate media are reporting that these white shirts are police supervisors as opposed to rank and file.  Recently discovered documents suggest something else may be at work.

If you’re a Wall Street behemoth, there are endless opportunities to privatize profits and socialize losses beyond collecting trillions of dollars in bailouts from taxpayers.  One of the ingenious methods that has remained below the public’s radar was started by the Rudy Giuliani administration in New York City in 1998.  It’s called the Paid Detail Unit and it allows the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street corporations, including those repeatedly charged with crimes, to order up a flank of New York’s finest with the ease of dialing the deli for a pastrami on rye.

The corporations pay an average of $37 an hour (no medical, no pension benefit, no overtime pay) for a member of the NYPD, with gun, handcuffs and the ability to arrest

The officer is indemnified by the taxpayer, not the corporation.

New York City gets a 10 percent administrative fee on top of the $37 per hour paid to the police.

fox news is promoting OWS too....perhaps inadvertently with internet polls where truth is allowed to happen. Idiots.

maybe except ex CNBC fuckface Erin Burnett (CFR, goldman sachs alum) who wants to trash OWS since she is married to Shitty bank bankster.

I'll write more about Burnett if readers want me to, but let me focus for now on the larger problem with her -- and the trip to Occupy Wall Street is only a symptom of it. At a time when many people come to cable news looking for someone they can trust to help lead them out of the economic nightmare this country has plunged them into, she comes across as self-satisfied, smug, priviledged and feeling not one whit of their pain. In fact, she's there to mock them and sarcastically say, "seriously!?" -- as she did of the protesters.

Burnett's problem runs much deeper from what I have seen -- it runs straight through to the persona, if not the person herself.

Wrong.  I'd enjoy the crowd throwing the punches, not the fat ass pigs of NYPD.  Such hero behavior - sucker punching someone standing in the street.

It's their damn right to stand there in peaceful assembly.

The more the police make themselves an obvious enemy of the ordinary protesting person, the more the protest will ramp in scale. They have already lost.

Even a massive false-flag operation would fail at this point, because too many people are aware of that old trick.

But there are still a lot of cowards unwilling to face the truth... look around. False flag or not, the protest must still grow before it reaches the tipping point you refer to... simply because there are too many opponents who would side with the police against the protesters, simply because they oppose the protesters for some unknown reason. Or maybe i just need to get out of ZH and get some fresh air.

Off to a meeting at OWS.

That's why they bring the plastic nets and metal barricades, and order reinforcements upstream of where the crowd is moving... so they don't have to run.  It is an interesting strategy to use rapid mobility to evade police capture, but you really can't move fast enough, because they bring reinforcements to your destination before you get there.  I'm wondering what the threshold is for when the protesters outnumber the police by number and locations, so that the police absolutely can't control the crowd.  That's when we migtht see national guard, Xe soldiers, or even UN peace keepers or Nato troops.

The oligarchs have spent a lot of time and money planning for the overthrow of the world's governments / financial system... they will not be dissuaded by a bunch of "kids" crying foul play.  The crowd needs to become much bigger and global, so the oligarchs do not have any choice... their soldiers will be outnumbered just like the example I gave of the police.  That's why 15O was such a significant moment.  The people have crossed the threshold and the assault is in the "belly of the beast"... last place where high finance is running amok but unchecked... now we have our check, the people protesting.  Of course, the people who believe that Wall Street is the main culprit are drunk... but the other protesters have been battling in their own "bellies", their own finanical enemies abroad, so this is a global war against finance... finance started it, we'll end it.

We, the people, cannot allow the oligarchs or finance to find a safe haven, anywhere on Eearth.  They want to kill us, starve us, punish us, imprison us, enslave us... fuck that.  We the fat asses of the world, who are waiting for someone else to fix our fucking problems, need to get off our fat asses and do something... get out there and protest, show that you object to the way the financial industries have been taking advantage of us.  We cannot win without you.  Get it?  OTOH, if you don't come out and play with us, then we will continue to try and likely attempt violence as a last desperate attempt before we lose. So this really is very important, don' watch, get out there and join the protesters.  This is not about socialism or fascism or capitalism.  This is trying to stop sociopaths who have gone berzerk, before they kill any more people.

Wow that's weird. For some reason, the media mocked and ignored the tea party, yet now they are covering OWS 24/7?

So...logic dicttates that the media couldn't care less about the tea party part of the message (end the fed, stop the bailouts), but they don't mind the hippie idiocy fact we must conclude that is the part they are trying to promote.

Incorrect.  Fail.  The corporate-controlled media fell all over themselvers early in the Tea Party 'movement.'

Eventually, the MSM had to back off coverage of the Tea Party, when the gun-toting "morans" started spewing obviously racist garbage, and making fools of themselves on camera. Of course to counter the finding above and cofuse the issue, the conservative mouthpiece, Media Research Center, has released a recent report showing gretaer coverage of OWS.  Well, duh, it is and will be covered more because it is and will remain a far more significant political force that the Tea Party, which apparently thinks operating within the current system of fraud and corruption will do just fine.

From the Media Research Center's own website:

On October 1, 1987, a group of young determined conservatives set out to not only prove — through sound scientific research — that liberal bias in the media does exist and undermines traditional American values, but also to neutralize its impact on the American political scene. What they launched that fall is the now acclaimed — Media Research Center (MRC).

I'm sure the folks at MRC don't exhibit any confirmation bias of their own and don't take Goldman Sachs money.  When I do a few Google searches now, I see this rport quoted all over the place, now, by the corporate shills.  Since conservatives are so well known for belief in scientific findings, I don't know why I should be suspicious.

I was wandering in Oakland last night, my first hashish wave coming on; and found myself at the border of a 200-person march.  A motley assortment, not out of the ordinary for these parts - but including curiously at the center a number of muslims in caps\head covering.  The women marching behind.

This morning the local papers reported it but failed to mention Muslims, still less the fact that. by the time the march reached the Civic plaza (and I with them, more or less) the chanting had been taken over by the muslims:

"God's Peace!"

"God's Peace!"

"God's Peace!"

What interested me most was the police - they outnumbered the marchers at least 2 to 1 and were armed to the teeth.

When I came walking up 11th out of West Oakland they were blocking traffic parallel to the march - staying one block ahead, a rather sophisticated manuevre.

These guys were loaded for bear - all the gear, cars marked and unmarked, civvies on the streets.  I have no doubt they were a Fed-fortified force.  Several choppers in the air.

All for 200 ragtag tattooed teenagers?  I think not.  I think it was the Muslims that scared TPTB.  I crossed several lines and finally made it to the BART and swung out of that hornet's nest.  Completed my high with a 10k run in the twilight.

Here's a question - why did the Oakland Police Dept. let the guys run wild in the aftermath of the BART shooting verdict, wreaking vandalism all up & down Telegraph Ave. - but take such pains to bottle this benign march up with the help of FED riot police?
