Over the past 48 hours we have written much, describing the perfectly expected surge in nationalist fervor and anti-Japanese sentiment, as the Senkaku Islands Snafu hits its boiling point - a Japan whose GDP is now declining in real terms, whose economy has been crippled by years of deflation, whose infrastructure is impaired due to anti-nuclear power sentiment, and one which generally can not afford an all out diplomatic, political and economic conflict with China, and may thus ask itself: why escalate and just who prompted it do so now? A Japan whose economic status is best summarized with the following chart:

Instead we'll let the pictures do the talking.

Total Chaos. Just you wait a few more weeks until the real show begins, this is only the previews...
Yes, but the fact is it's manufactured chaos.
By whom?
For what purpose?
Cui bono? (who gains)
These are the things to keep in mind as we watch it unfold
indeed. methinks that we only will understand the answer to the question if we all check our prejudices and realize that they are being used to manipulate & misdirect our individual & collective behavior.
ahhh, couldn't agree more.
and perhaps with these words you'll more fully understand our exchange earlier today, because it is genuinely in this spirit that I engage that topic.

The Chinese are good at manufacturing.
Low labor costs.
You believe that a God-like entity rules the world and can create havoc wherever and whenever it wants to, eh? Everything is so simple, eh? Fact, eh?
You wish. Life is complicated. There are too many variables, too many forces competing, too much greed, too much stupidity. It is a huge matrix and no one is in total command. So, please stop summarizing everything to one simple sentence. Nothing is that simple.
"Do you know of students on grounds who might be willing to assist with a communications effort by engaging constructively in the blogs as guided by a communications consultant?"

This shit is hitting the " APEX" , of rational behavior!

That is just so cynical....

Nothing feels right about any of the protests happening all over the place at the moment. Nothing good will come from any of this.
It has a certain staged quality to it. So, qui bono from the chaos?
Order
From Chaos, Order.
Altho it does seem that it's slipped just a tidge too much on that icy surface, doesn't it?
Damn, that's a lot of chinks in Japan's armor, about a billion of them.
Beijing is playing with fire here.
Those angry mobs can so easily turn against the Communist Party.
I wonder how the Japanese public will react.
Apparently you can get a banner printed up for free if it says "Fuck Japan" anywhere on it, in any language.
I guess pretty much everyone has had a bad piece of sushi at one time or another
I bet most of the sushi restaurants there are owned and operated by the Chinese, just as a large number of sushi restaurants in NYC are.
Those fucking Chinks have gone too far.
What is China going to do? Bring down Japan with malfunctioning rockets, Hollywood style footage of non-existent fighter planes, and other 50 year old left over Soviet weapons? Unfortunately, they haven’t had enough time to copy modern day military technology or steal enough trade secrets from "joint ventures" to do shit to an advanced country like Japan. The Chinese people can show all the national pride they want, but the party leaders know they aren't going to do shit.
So I take it you've never heard of the J10?
It's the Chinese version (plans stolen by Israeli agents in the US and sold to Beijing) of the F22 Raptor, just without sabotaged parts and chips.
Nastiest thing in the sky right now.
Is that the model plane they showed on the ground and then clips from Top Gun of it “flying”? The Chinese are not technologically advanced. All of the technology they have is either stolen or badly attempted reverse engineering. They are at least 60 years behind the modern world and they won't do shit.
They have cash on hand though. Lots of it. Money buys everything. Besides, remember those Russian T34 tanks? They were crap and no match for the Pantzers but could be produced in far greater numbers. Guess who was victorious.
You guys are missing the point. The problem with stealing technology is that you can't steal the creativity or thought development that made it and that's the problem with China. That's why they only "create" textiles and cheap defective children’s toys.
And who exactly are they going to buy it from exactly? North Korea? Iran? Russia? Rusty old relics from the Cold War. Give me a break. Japan won’t need to fight a WWII style of land invasion of China to make them cry mercy.
kinda funny if you reverse the deck chairs and remember that the chinese invented paper money in the first place.
I think you need to do some research on China's military and Bill Clinton.
FleaMarketPete asked:
Dude, this isn't 1952. You seem to think they're only armed with Flashing Thunders®, bricks of Black Cat® firecrackers, and bundles of pop bottle rockets (w/ report).
They haven't need jack shit from joint ventures. For the last decade, most of the secrets of modern military technology have been available for downloading from unsecured/compromised Windows® boxes as well as from idiots in government and the defense industry who inadvertently shared all their drives (including network drives) with misconfigured peer-to-peer file sharing programs. It's all been low hanging fruit.
Stealing technology is not the same as DEVELOPING technology. There's no way in hell China will attack Japan. #1 because they would get absolutely dominated and #2 they would expose to their people just how far behind they really are. This is very much like Saddam popping off about how US boots would never set foot on Iraqi soil yadda yadda yadda..
Quantity has its own quality
(Sorry to have to us a quote by Stalin, but his point on this one was abundantly proven)
So what inteligence unit are you from that you can make these claims? BTW, they do have ICBM's that can reach the US of A.
Anybody know of an open worm hole.
Not good. I wanted "$strength"" based on manufacturing!
Good grief! These must be 'good riots' as opposed to Uighurs or Tibetans taking the streets and burning cars. Those are 'bad riots'.
It's doubtful anyone in China can find the Senkaku Islands on a map. Can the Chinese 'invade' and take over the islands? Maybe, why bother?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senkaku_Islands
Islands are a long way from Japan, BTW.
Good to see the Chinese burning cars, hopefully they get around to burning all of them.
steve from virginia said:
That's because their maps show the Diaoyu Islands, not the Senkaku Islands.
Soon to be officially renamed the "Dieyoujaps Islands".
I would highly recommend everyone do some background on the islands and where the oil fields are in that region.

A couple weeks ago I heard from a friend that some mainlander branch employee at a Canadian bank up in Vancouver, BC put up a sign that was telling off the Japanese. Can't find the link for it unfortnuately.
Anyways, this doesn't say too much - but shows there are immigrants in North America who will have the same emotions running through them as well.
All the Chinese immigrants need to be FEMA-camped during the upcoming WWIII.
Who would keep the casinos full, then?
Americans often make the silly mistake of believing that the Chinese are modern and enlightened citizens of the industrial world. Wrong, the vast majority of Chinese are fervently nationalistic, absolutely xenophobic and stunningly ignorant of the rest of the world.
This kind of public frenzy can be turned on in the blink of an eye anytime it suits the Chinese leaders.
Right, whatever you say Cecil Rhodes.
Replace Chinese with American. Same thing. Just saying.
Sure Europeans don't fare much better if it comes down to the wire. It's a tribal thing.

I just hope all their riots are briefs.
It would be a shame if they permanently stained their relations with Japan.
Those cars will have to be returned to Japan to fix the defective windows.

Just playing Devil’s Keynesian, but would decimating the Chinese manufacturing base lead to an economic renaissance in Japan?
I think the US is just about done with China and Japan have little hope of recovering soon. My bet is on a US manufacturing renaissance.
We're too stupid and too lazy. It will never work.
No brother, we're too angry for any alternative. Sure we don't protest but our guns speak for themselves and the government knows this.
I don't know...apparently American's are too lazy to learn how to work the machines. They only work hard on blaming everyone else for why they can't learn new skills and find a job.
.
Just because it's true for those with MBAs doesn't mean it applies to everyone.
I'll take the other side of that bet.
I believe American industry was dismantled and sent offshore deliberately. Nothing has changed that would bring it back.
Crap! Wait till they find out the Bernank made their US treasuries worthless.
Let's do a quick roll count;
Allies
US, UK, EU, Israel, Japan, coalition of the willing....
Enemy
China, Russia, Iran, Syria, axis of evil....
OK, even split, now who will take the first shot? My bet is on Israel, ahem, Iran.
We will need India for the numbers, so Pakistan goes to China.
Everybody hates Israel, so all muslim countries go to Russia. Oil could be a real problem for the USA side.
Whoever wins will label the loser "axis of evil". Remember, winners dominate the historic record.
Russia, China and USA have probably already played the computer war game scenarios.
Right on, I forgot India. Yes, we'll take them but most muslim countries including those in North Africa are reluctanly under US control so there will be some negotiating there.
are the Saudis the wild card in this equation?
Depends, President Obama needs to pull a Bush Jr. "You are either with us or against us". When the Iran trigger is pulled, we must know who will be on USA side, because this could slide downhill quickly.
Probably does not matter, because the losing side will have nukes.
How about Australia? It sucks the Chinese AND Japanese cock.
Disclaimer, I'm Australian so I'm allowed to say that.
Japan was brutal to Chinese in WWII. China has never had an opportunity to payback the Japanese for their war crimes. Well, if these passions are unleashed, nobody, I mean nobody will put these passions back in the bottle.
Well, at least the Chinese are not returning to crimes as old as the crusades to drive their hatred.
No surprise there. The Chinese are busy screwing the world with the same mercantilist policies that the British, Germans, and Americans used on them at turn of the 20th century.
Payback is a bitch and the Chinese have a long memory for it.
Yep, the globalist told everyone that world trade would make the world safer; just like the Euro would make Europe safer. Our intellectuals have sold us a bad bill of goods!
So...they have a debt problem, too, eh?
All of that because of the neo-con warmongering hawk Tokyo mayor who pushed the Japanese PM to buy the islands... FUCKING NEO-CONS PUSHING THE WORLD YET AGAIN TOWARDS WAR....
They don't have "neo-cons" in Japan.
neo-con, neo-kong, let's move on.
I hear that war does wonders for a stagnant economy -- especially for one that's been in a recession for 20 years.
Yeah, Japan doesn't need their young or anything. Send them off to die in a war. /sarcasm.
A lot of brilliant people posted. " earth to AKAK"?
China has thousands of riots each year. This just brings some of them to light.
May be the cinese are just pissed at the inflation that has resulted from stimulus etc and finding a good event to vent it out, since they can't wasily address the original problem
Got to love Google translate....
It's alright, Barack Chamberlain just needs to aloow China more Lebensroom.

Tell that to the people in texas border towns, no problems for us Americans with the mexicans killing each other right? right? Get your head out fo your ass.
Drive Buick bitchez! The chinamen love 'em!
Asian is the preferred nomenclature, dude.
Actually, it is "Oriental", except for among hyper-politically-correct and geographically clueless Americans, who do not realize that the Orient is not synonymous with the entire continent of Asia. Indians, Arabs, Iranians, Russians, Israelis, Armenians, Pakistanis, and Turks are all "Asian" as well. But when did precision or logic ever get in the way of a misguided politically-correct redefinition?
Asian is the preferred nomenclature, dude.
Very nasty business. Poor Japan is toast. They've been set adrift by US foreign policy.
Big power vacuum already being left behind by an absent USA growing saggy old tits. Rest of World not wasting time picking the bones. This is going to accelerate globally. Regional conflicts will break out all over with MB, China, and Somali pirates filling the voids. Soviet style collapse.
If TPTB are scheduling another global crises now to swing the USA presidential election in favor of the comfy incumbent, they would be mistaken.
I don't think TPTB give a shit who the country elects in November as long as it is one of their two party goons.
November isn't so much a Presidential Election anymore,
More of a Presidential Selection process.
(Selection amongst a predetermined set)
Oh, I get all that. But Barry has done so much, to so many, in such a short time already. The TPTB will save more time by not having to waste it transitioning to a new administration.
There's no NWO until the alternative democratic self-government model is destroyed and discredited. Nihilism, bitches.
Globalists agree, an excellent time for China to launch and invasion of Japan.
pUT YOUR HEAD, IN " a bowl full of water"!
---Make it so---
I'll never join . Keep dreaming.
The U.S. Pacific Fleet would probably mutiny to save Japan and dominion over the Pacific.
We didn't defeat Japan and conquer the Pacific to give it away to China.
...and Japan has been building up their Navy last 10yrs.
Gas exploration areas are all throughout the South China Sea.
The coming energy war.
YEP!
And it's looking pretty kick ass.
http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison-detail.asp
According to this website on military comparisons between the two countries, Japan doesn't stand a chance.
Japan have building alliance with Philippians, India and Taiwan and now Sri Lanka http://www.colombopage.com/archive_12A/Sep17_1347821972CH.php
Looks like a block alliance against China, been brewing for years. This war will be all Naval. Probably timed when Israel (green light by Rombama after election) bombs Iran and the US navy deployment is split into two regions. US will have to sit out the China blowup with Japan, but Israel going bananas in the Straits of Hormuz could cause China/Russia to lose it, that and Saudis will be targeted by Iran.
Not looking good.
Chump,
Is China Island dispute over oil in the china sea's? Perhaps more than in the middle east?
whole region is nat gas
India and Vietnam are now joint partners in gas exploration.
the thing is, the ECB and Fed have sent oil prices up, China is a net importer. Israel will send oil over 120+ if they drop bombs of Iran, Iran will 100% attack Saudi Arabia. Japan is also a net importer.
So...
War is on the cards.
Throughout history, wars have served as terrific excuses to print currency (which is something that Japan will eventually be forced to do.)
Also, wars can divert attention from economic problems at home. If China has a hard landing, a war with Japan could be just the thing distract Chinese from anger with their own government. So a small war might serve the interests of both governments.
Let us just hope that things don't spiral out of control over there.
I didn't think of Japan, but had exactly the same take for China.
WOW !........Seriously !!!!......WOW !
What are you surprised about?
It is so nice to know that the good Chinese people are not emotional like the people of the middle east. Calm, collected, rational.
So instead of campaigning in Ohio at the Burger King Obama might actually have to stay in Washington and do his job descripton. After all, we are paying him big bucks.
Y'all who are trying to figure out who's pulling the strings might want to start thinking cabals instead of countries.
Deflation doesn't cripple an economy. Deflation is very good for the economy; it makes more goods available to more people. It is also a symptom, not a cause of economic malaise.
"LM' this isn't "Polka Variety Hour"
Yes but it also drives wages down and technically, dries up credit or at least, destroys it through defaults and deleveraging so no it's not good for the economy, just the medicine a healing economy must take.
Thanks for, having the " NUTS ENOUGH" to state your claim!
Communism and its timid sister socialism are filth. Big Brother State wants its money and power, and to hell with the people.
USA: beware of this corporatism; the blue pill and the red pill.
The Chinese are the world's oldest continuous civilisation, but even they are being scammed by career politicians, and following their 'leader'; the Politburo in this time.
Not Rolex!!! The .0001% is going to get really pissed now!
Not to worry, they will switch back to their traditional (more affordable) "Rollex" timepieces.
Japan's argument is based on the fact in modern era as it was clearly defined as a part of Japan in mid 19th century and, it was internationally endorsed by San Fransico Treaty in 1947 after WW II.
China's argument is based on very ambiguous chinese document written in 16th century of Ming Dynasty.
Well, if China's argument is right, why Tibet or Uyghur or Inner Mongol or any other places where non-chinese have been inhabitant historically are the part of China ?
Fine. But the question isn't why, it's why now.
i guess you should study more history:
DiaoYu Island was annexed from China by Japan during the first Sino-Japanese war in early 19 century.
After WWII, the Allies(including China) made the Potsdam Declaration:
"....
"Japanese sovereignty shall be limited to the islands of Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku and such minor islands as we determine." As had been announced in the Cairo Declaration in 1943.
....",
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potsdam_Declaration
and Cairo Declaration:
"....
All territories Japan had won from China, such as Manchuria (Dongbei), Formosa (Taiwan), and the Pescadores (Penghu), shall be restored to the Republic of China.
...."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_Declaration
So, in fact Japan has no claim of ownership of Diaoyu Island after WWII.
However, due to the cold war, US release the island to Japan(Treaty of San Francisco), and hence the conflict today...
P.S., China splitted into P.R. of China, and R. of China after civil war in 1949.
Why not ?, Tibet or Uyghur or Inner Mongol or any other places where non-chinese have been inhabitant historically shall be restored.
Many towns occpied by illegal chinese, so called china-town, around the world shall be restored to local polite citizen as well ?.
There is so much Japanese manufacturing in China, bet the Japanese hope the Chinese don't nationalize it. Gotta be worth hundreds of billions.
That's the same logic for American manufactures in China. Question the Chinese would have to answer is who will consume their supply?
Something is very wrong with this picture. The Chinese follow Sun Tzu's principles very closely, so why a blantant display like this? Are they simply bluffing the Japanese? Are they deflecting their populations attention away from their internal economic problems (maybe they are much worse than we know?) Or is this meant as a message to Washington?
So many mysteries here. Something doesn't seem right. It's out of character for sure. However, I don't think they're bluffing. This looks widesparead!
maybe this is an outward expression of an internal conflict currently going down in the Politburo?
don't forget, Hu Jintao is scheduled to hand over power next month.
Possible, although the Chinese generally do a good job of hiding their internal conflicts from the brain-dead western media. There seems to be no attempt to hide this; quite the contrary, it seems to have government support. I guess the openess of it all is what worries me.
I always thought that if Israel and US went after Iran,
China at the same time would take Taiwan,
But they seem to have a bigger plan for the state of confusion... (or war by other names)
Well, Yes. Like Sun Tzu might have said;
"For Every Day Prepare,
And Meet them ever alike,
When you are the anvil Bear,
And when you are the Hammer, Strike."
I think they feel like a Hammer...
Yeah thats a nice peaceful solution, nationalize all Japanese companies in China and 1.5 billion people boycott Japanese goods worldwide. That would be the economic kick in the nuts that would put the Japanese over the edge, into economic depression.
This,dysfunctional. " quagmire" is pathetic. I will "never" become a " Politician"!
In sSome"haunted house', {maybe}?
Looks like trouble to me........worldwide disappointment and anger is rising.....better keep prepping...
Broken windows, burned cars - basically a Keynesisns' wet dream!
Chinese Hate The Japanese, .. WWII. Lots of massacres by the Japanese against the Chinese. Now, there's lotsa lotsa China man no get boom boom, maka berry angry.
oh, and ... ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US.
Enterprise corruption -> need for cheap labour -> war -> police state powers -> apparent change of leadership - enterprise corruption -> need for cheap...
What if 'this' was what the fed saw? What if this is the 'information' they have?
War, and they are providing the cheap dollars for manufacturing?
QUICK, SOMEONE WHO WORKS FOR FORD/GM, ARE THE TANK ORDERS IN YET?
Burning down house’s has become a global event. Fucking up existing infrastructure will pave way to new economic development and new job creation.

Burn the Homes Down = Low Cost Strategy
There are two things I am sick of reading about:
Hypocritical Chinese robotrons blathering about how they own the sea thousands of kilometers from their shores and all other nations are trying to destroy their peace loving pursuit of altruism, while they commit genocide in Tibet, threaten Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, etc., with their peaceful ways. When the Chinese are not busy factory fishing the oceans and wiping out all the endangered species if of the earth in search of erectile dysfunction cures, they are dumping waste into the sea and firing lasers at satellites. I was stuck in a hotel with a huge Chinese tour group and the first two into the restaurant rushed to the buffet table and carried the whole salmon centerpiece to their table with their hands where they ate it like starving park squirrels working on a potato chip.
The other thing that is making me sick is this whole Islam is a religion of peace bullshit. Since when in the last 1400 years has THAT been true? I mean, what exactly do they have to do to make you snap out of your dream? So somebody supposedly made a movie that accurately portrays the muslim prophet (notice I don’t say The Prophet, that would be insulting to all other intelligent people and you never see BBC or CNN saying, The Lord Buddha or The Lord Jesus Christ, do you?) according to Muslim texts. And what happens? They go crazy. When? Coincidentally just after Friday prayers when the muslim theologian speaks to them. Then, immediately, for western consumption there is a meek claim from someone in the muslim government there that this ought to stop. But it doesn’t; it gets worse, next Friday coincidentally. And what is this whole Muslim World thing that the press keeps referring to these places as? When do you ever hear NYT or MSNBC refer to The Hindu World, or The Christian World? Never. So what is the Muslim world? And why is it a Muslim World, not a pluralistic world or just part of the world? Its psycholinguistics, that’s why, They are conditioning people to accept that where muslims dominate they, dominate. About that film, you can google any number of countless muslim produced movies that defame Judaism, Christianity, etc., of similar nature. Where are the riots about these? In Bangladesh they wipe out Buddhists and not a peep from the UN or International Herald Tribune, But when the people of Myanmar try to protect their daughters and lands from Bangladesh Rohinga, there is wailing of the media and islamic organizations about how the poor muslims are being discriminated against even as they invade a neighboring country. Yes, defend yourself against oppression and you are the one who is oppressing. If its muslim. Otherwise, not a peep.
The international bankers think they are smart carving up the world playing nationalistic brainwashed Chinese youth and crazed islamic brainwashed youth off against the world to destabilize it. But at some point they will realize these dogs they have set on the world cannot be called back and then what will the rest of us do?
Chinese smell bad, too.
It's all that Chinese Shitizenism they carry around with them.
I sm pretty sure they don't care about the rest of us laosuwan. Great post!
Time is on China side, that's why Japan can't wait to overtake the island because 5 to 10 years later, Japan may never has a chance.
Well gee........maybe if the stupid fucks in the USA weren't so 'civilized' they'd realize you have to fight fire with fire. Go ahead........have your tame protests and watch your overlords fuck you behind the scenes every which way possible.
And on other thoughts I can't really say this was a smart move for Japan. This whole planet is fucking nuts, gazillions of people going at it and only a handful of assheads are responsible for it.
