Barack Obama For Sale: 50% Off

Tyler Durden's picture

The following email intercept from a senior Managing Director of Obama bastion Evercore (Roger Altman: nuf said), explains all there is to know about  the Obama presidency, but it does not explain why Groupon still does not have a "meet your president, half off price" coupon yet. Anyway, we'll got and report ourselves to @AttackWatch immediately as this is obviously a non-subversive counter-disinformation campaign.

Hi there - fundraising this quarter has been a struggle (as you can imagine give all the negative stuff around the President) - they are offering a one off opportunity to attend this small dinner on Monday for $25k instead of the full max out of $38.5k, or a couple at $38.5k instead of $77k.  Just wanted to offer that in case you're interested!
Charles A. Myers
Senior Managing Director
Evercore Partners
I'm co-hosting a small dinner with President Barack Obama at the Park Avenue home of Jane Hartley and Evercore CEO Ralph Schlosstein on Monday September 19th at 5:30pm.  Evercore Chairman and former Assistant Treasury Secretary Roger Altman is also a co-host. Many other senior Wall Street individuals will be attending.
This will be an intimate dinner with the opportunity to spend quality time with the President in a private home.  Given the current Republican field, it is more imperative than ever that we re-elect President Obama and I hope you can join us on September 19th.
You can RSVP to me directly or here:
 $35,800 per person / $71,600 per couple

Aw, fishsticks... the wife and I have a PTA on Monday.

Guess the economy is tanking and nobody can justify making purchases at these prices...... This is VERY deflationary.

"Twofers" with the O's!  Sweet!

nmewn's picture, ahhh eh, if you really love me, you'll eat your peas!

"... and I have this particular sandwich for all y'all as well.  After you eat your peaz."

- Ned

If you really love'll eat his peas too. If you really really love him you'll skip the discount and pay full price.

My Senior Senator, John Forbes Kerry (who served in Viet Nam) has an annual option on his state taxes to a) check a box then b) pay at the previous, higher income tax rate.

Now, I'll grant you that the accountants attached to his second wife's first husband's Trust Fund won't let this happen, but the master won't pay "his fair share."

So, I'd guess that "Do You Know Who I AM?!!!" wouldn't be paying full price, either.

- Ned

nmewn's picture

Kerry got his money the old fashioned "progressive" way...he married into it...ROTFL!!!

Bicycle Repairman's picture

Did "Irish" John Kerry get to keep any money from his unsuccessful Presidential run?

nmewn's picture

Can't speak to that BR...I dunno.

I do know, presently, Feinstein's accountant just got busted for "losing" around five mill. That should be a fun one to watch on a what did you know & when did you know it

CompassionateFascist's picture

I'd put "kerry" in quotes....his actual patronym is Cohn.

Don Birnam's picture

Tell me, New Meat, does "Liveshot" Kerry still moor his trust fund tub -- the Scaramouche -- in RI in order to continue to evade Mass. Taxes ?

New_Meat's picture

Don: "Scaramouche" is so '90s.  New tub is "Isabel" built in NZ. Got caught in Newport,  now, supposedly "paid his taxes" (Mamma T hadn't budgeted for that).  Supposed to be at home in 'tucket. - Ned

Don Birnam's picture

The catsup business must be quite brisk in order for Liveshot ( read: Mamma T ) to upgrade the flagship to a schooner. The Town/County of Nantucket had better cash that check in a timely manner, would be my advice to them.

This is all a small price to pay in order to repay Obama for the GM restructuring...wonder what the final total of Evercore employees in attendance will be?

""Altman is founder and chairman of Evercore Partners, which advised on the GM deal. Evercore, after being paid $46 million by GM pre-bankruptcy, asked for a $17.9 million "success fee." A U.S. bankruptcy trustee termed the fees "staggering" and "inordinately large" and said it "clearly exceeds the bounds of reasonableness" given that "Evercore had no success at finding a purchaser or funder for the Debtor.""

Wow. You're a good researcher. Corruption at the highest levels ! Shocked; Shocked I say. That stinks. Can we count on this being in the New York Times tomorrow? Probably not. Sigh.

No thanks.  I'd rather use my hand.

I'd rather use your hand too, if the alternative was Michelle Obama. I wouldn't care if you were a vet who'd just had it up a cow's ass.

"Happy ending from Michelle?"

You mean the First Cow?

"no after-dinner mints?"

Yes, and they're wafer-thin.  Buckets will also be provided.

I just love our open Democracy...

EscapeKey's picture

Speaking of "democracy", the communists (Enhedslisten) just took 6.7% of the election vote in Denmark. No kidding. Their manifest on economics is an almost copy-and-paste of the Marxist manifesto.

Election win went to the socialists. Is it too late for Denmark to join the deficit-spend-to-bust club?

hambone's picture

ahhh politics...the global joke that just keeps on giving.

IQ 145's picture

The Danish live in their own little world. They paved the whole frigging Island with windmills; literally; from shore to shore, and then off-shore. The result? they pay they electric bill to Germany every year; they live on a giant extension cord under the North Sea. they "think" they're a green country. I wouldn't be expecting them to sober up anytime soon.

Hobbleknee's picture

They also cried like babies for Sweden to close a nuke plant close to Copenhagen, and the Swedefags capitulated.

Hey Tyler,

The event I'm invited to here in Woodside at the Johnson's for the 25th hasn't been discounted yet, I am going to send an email asking for 50% off before I commit.

Thank you for the heads up!

Haywood Jablowme's picture

I'd wait a little longer and get it on the cheap.  Just a matter of time before this 'ish shows up on Craigslist....

Groan. That Attack Watch site is scary. I thought this was America for christ's sake. Well, I suppose that's a little "dated". We old folks have trouble keeping up with the advancing wave of Fascism.
