Romney Officially Loses Iowa, Gingrich Leading South Carolina 37% to Romney's 28%

Tyler Durden's picture

Something big must be happening behind the scenes because the level of broad popular distraction just hit ludicrous speed. The latest news, from AP: "Offering no explanation, the Iowa Republican Party has declared Rick Santorum as winner of the Iowa caucuses, days after saying incomplete vote results precluded it from doing just that. GOP State Chairman Matt Strawn and the party’s State Central Committee issued a statement late Friday naming the former Pennsylvania senator as the winner, “in order to clarify conflicting reports and to affirm the results” that were released Wednesday." Naturally, jokes about Paul votes being "hanging chad-ed" by Diebold machines are imminent: "Because eight precincts never turned in certified results, Strawn said in the statement Thursday that the party could not declare a winner. He congratulated both Santorum and Romney. Sixteen days earlier, Strawn had announced that Romney had won the caucuses by eight votes." But far more notable, from the PPP website: "Newt Gingrich heads into South Carolina election day as the clear front runner in the state: he's now polling at 37% to 28% for Mitt Romney, 16% for Rick Santorum, and 14% for Ron Paul. Gingrich's lead has actually increased in the wake of his ex-wife's controversial interview with ABC. Although one night poll results should always be interpreted with caution, he led the final night of the field period by a 40-26 margin. One thing that continues to work to his advantage are the debates.  60% of primary voters report having watched the one last night, and Gingrich has a 46-23 lead with those folks. The other reason his ex-wife's interview isn't causing him much trouble is that there's a lot of skepticism about it. Only 31% of voters say they think her accusations are true while 35% think they are false and 34% are unsure. 51% of voters say that they have 'no concerns' about what came out in the interview." In other words: three primaries are about to lead to three different winners. What can we say: America always gets the president it deserves.

More from PPP:

The skepticism of Republican voters toward the media is helping Gingrich as well.  Just 14% of likely voters have a generally favorable opinion of the media, while 77% view it negatively.  Gingrich's attacks on the media have clearly played well with the party base.

Gingrich is leading with pretty much every key segment of the Republican electorate. He's up 41-21 on Romney and Santorum with Evangelicals, he has a 52-18 advantage on Romney with Tea Partiers, he leads Santorum 44-21 with 'very conservative' voters with Romney at 20%, and he's up 39-26 with men.

In the final week of the campaign Gingrich rose from 24% to 37% in PPP's polling while Romney basically stayed in place, going from 29% to 28%. Romney saw a 15 point decline in his net favorability in the closing stretch from +24 (57/33) to just +9 (51/42). Gingrich saw a modest increase in his numbers over the final week from +14 (51/37) to +17 (54/37).

Usually when we poll in the closing days before an election and find someone ahead by 9 points we'll say with a pretty high degree of confidence that person's going to win. I'm not comfortable saying that about South Carolina.  A primary election with a lot of new news in the closing days for voters to absorb is fertile ground for a final result that's at odd with the polls.  Mark Blumenthal's piece today for Huffington Post about 'expecting the unexpected' tomorrow is well worth a read.  Gingrich will probably win tomorrow- but there's a higher than normal chance for a surprise given everything that's gone down in the last 48 hours.

Full PPP results here.

Moving falun bong's comment to here:

"Do Americans have any idea how embarassing this is? What is happening to your country? Doesn't anybody give a damn any more?

Seriously, folks, Newt Fucking Gingrich? Could there be a more sleazy political hack? Last elected to public office 17 years ago. Censured by Congress for ethical violations. A liar and a cheat, and an arrogant and egotistical prick to boot. Nasty personality, the worst kind, a know-it-all who has all his facts wrong. Nut case, thinks the biggest threat to America is from electromagnetic attacks. Wants another WAR as soon as he can start one. Wants Sarah Fucking Palin and John Fucking Bolton in his cabinet. Fascists!

Or Mitt Fucking Romney? I mean could he be MORE 1% if he tried? Wall Street chop shop hit man, who then stashed all of his money in the Cayman Islands (yeah THAT's patriotic). Made his fortune by firing workers and sending jobs to China, then got HUGE tax breaks for doing it. Robo-Mitt, all Wall Street, all the time.

Or Rick Fucking Santorum? He'll start another WAR even faster than Gingrich. A mental midget and religious nut job.

All with the spectacle of more, bigger, and better ELECTION FRAUD. Banana republics have less fraud at election time.

Then there's Barack Fucking Obama. The ultimate fraud and bait & switch artist. Says all sorts of progressive stuff THEN turns into Bush's Third Term. Only worse! Endless war, no bank crime prosecutions, destruction of the Bill of Rights, Wall Street's stooge par excellence.

And one man, a patriot, a dedicated civil servant, smart enough to fight the bank cartel, smart enough to dismantle the excesses of empire, a true champion of freedom. And we can't even get the camera to pan over and show his face.

What have YOU done today to convert 10 people to Ron Paul? I can count 6 converts, four to go. Get moving!

File Politico’s big scoop today under ‘Important if true’. The blog reports that Las Vegas-based casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson has committed $20 million to a super PAC supporting Newt Gingrich.

Politico notes that Adelson’s rep denies the story, but it isn’t exactly far-fetched. Adelson is by far the biggest donor to Gingrich’s now-defunct American Solutions PAC, giving in excess of $7 million since 2006.

Well, if there's any good news out of this, we can take consolation in the fact that whoever wins the next presidential election is going to shoulder the blame for the imminent collapse. At this point, it looks like it won't have to be Ron Paul. Maybe then after the collapse, RP or preferable a younger protege, will step forward to lead the way back to personal liberty, less centralized bullshit government, more accountability and less corruption, and maybe a little bit of honesty in politics.

I know, I know. I'm a dreamer.

We'll be lucky if collapse holds off that long. It appears that the Republican candidate has already been selected, regardless of the wishes of the majority of the party, so why anybody is participating in those primaries is quite beyond me.  I sure won't vote for that buffoon, Newt Gringrich, that odious lier, that little man without presence, that pretentious ape.

Yeah. I guess I'll sit out the election this year unless a miracle happens and RP gets it. I won't waste my time voting for anyone else. Flip a coin, it doesn't matter, nothing will change at all. But I'm with you on the collapse. I don't think it will be delayed beyond the election. In fact, I've got some money on it happening real soon, like starting next week.

Curious reading from a popular offbeat Irish website ... Tyler Durden says be sceptical of this source! ... but interesting anyway ...

Claiming Ron Paul's popularity to be used as a tool to catapult Jeb Bush into the US White House ...

« Kissinger vows to China: “Jeb Bush Will Be Next President”

A shocking report prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Prime Minister Putin on the just completed meeting between China’s Vice Premier Li Keqiang and former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger states that the Chinese were told that former Florida Governor John Ellis “Jeb” Bush, brother to the former US President and son of another, will be elected as the next American leader despite his currently not even being on the ballot.

According to this report, Kissinger told Keqiang that the Republican Party election process to select their nominee to run against President Obama was “completely manipulated” to ensure that their 2012 Convention would be “deadlocked” thus allowing for Jeb Bush to be nominated as a “consensus candidate” and thus his parties leader.

The path to a deadlocked convention, this report says Kissinger told the Chinese, lies in neither current Republican frontrunners Governor Mitt Romney or Congressman Ron Paul having enough delegates to ensure their nomination on the first ballot after which their supporters will be free to nominate anyone they so choose. ...

When queried by Chinese officials as to why Obama was allowed to be elected instead of Jeb Bush in the last US election, this report continues, Kissinger replied that the American public was not prepared for a continuation of the Bush-Clinton Dynasties that have, in fact, ruled the United States since the 1981 coup d'état staged against President Ronald Regan after he was nearly assassinated by the son of the then Vice President George H.W. Bush’s main business partner.

Kissinger further stated to the Chinese, this report says, that Obama was a “safe choice” to be an “interim leader” as besides his being a member of the Bush family (Obama is former President George W. Bush’s cousin by blood) his mother, Ann Dunham/Soetoro, was a “prized” CIA asset who was dispatched from Hawaii to Indonesia in 1967, along with seven year-old Barack Obama, to infiltrate villages in Java to carry out a CIA survey of political leanings among the Javanese population and whose “handler” was George H.W. Bush who a few years later became Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Kissinger added, this report says, that by putting Obama in office they were, also, able to secure the passing of draconian new laws in the United States that otherwise wouldn’t have been allowed to pass due to the overwhelming objections of American liberals and progressives, but who now are all but silent as the last vestiges of the US Constitution are being swept away. ... »

Sadly, I have been researching political Zionism in depth lately, and that IS their intention, in their own words....you just have to look deeply enough in history that is left out of textbooks, magazines, papers, and TV's to find out what Zionists think about the rest of us, and what their ultimate agenda is.

I have spoken to many "non-aligned" voters and they all like RP, as do I, but we don't have a primary. Let's face it the two party system is basically a corrupt one party - it just depends on what type of graft you like. The media sucks up to whoever is #1 or #2, (an apt description) and work for their corporate masters like good little slaves. But don't worry there probably won't be an election because after March '12 it won't matter, the world economy will fall apart and plunge us into WWIII.

Max Fisher, let's analyze your retardation, point for point.

You state the following:

The Republican Party is in such disarray (I see, the Democratic party isn't right?, read much Max?), it's pathetic if not hilarious.  All Obama needs to do to clinch the election is show reruns of the 25+ Republican debates (or to lose, he can just show reruns of his past 3 years, 3 Trillion in Debt accumulation, Anti American Energy Stance, Anti Business Stance, Anti Capitalism/Self Reliability...perhaps that's the easier victory).  Kabuki theatre full of lunatics, liars and hypocrites (because the likes of Matthews, Maddow, Oberman, Colbert, Maher, et. al. are sane--------F'k me you're spot on man!)

There are three primary right-wing voters:

1.  The 1%,( Ummm, or the 53% that are paying taxes for you, I'm guessing you're unemployed.)

2.  Gullible (maybe informed, besides we didn't vote for Obummer, you did, now who's "Gullible"), paranoid (Yes, as we watch a great nation go to shit because a central planner who couldn't run a Dairy Queen has the nose headed down, both engines at full RPM), easily duped lemmings (Again, you were duped, not me) who march to the drumbeat of the Murdoch Propaganda Machine - in other words, the Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Sean Hannity fan clubs (Aformentioned, tuchet).  They believe Obama is Hitler (He's not?); they think ObamaCare is a ploy for eugenics and death panels (it isn't?); and "evil progressives" (please explain Mr. Soros) are the REAL threat to this country (they certainly are!).  Evil progressives = people who have evolved past the 19th century (evolved?  How's your "progress", moral decay is the only thing progressing...can't afford Obummer care, look at the math genius, and healthcare isn't a right, just like homeownership wasn't and look where we are because of that fiasco brought to you by none other than the liberal sodomist himself, Barney Ball gargling Franks)

3.  Ignorant goons (again, labeling over 50% of the country nim rod, innaccurately to boot) from the American backwaters (?) who only care about god (faith isn't a bad start, you should try it), guns (yep, kind of dig my constitutional rights) and gays (nope, don't care what they do, so long as they don't try to get married).  They haven't got the slightest clue about money matters (here's where I know you're a f'n idiot).  All they know is that all liberals are faggots who cause hurricanes (how's that, Bush was blamed for Katrina..)

What a sad pathetic joke that he is even in the race. My God, what a statement that makes about our political system. And Romney, the personification of everything wrong with Wall Street. Santorum? He's either a nutcase or he's posing as one, I haven't figured it out. Ron Paul? The only one I would vote for, and the Republican Party itself is dead set against him. I wonder why? Maybe because of his stance against The Fed, and thus the owners of the status quo? To me, this is the most obvious indicator that the GOP is a fucked up mess.

We do agree that whoever has the most money channeled into their super-PAC will prevail??

Well, if I was in the 0.1%, I sure as hell would not want Romney as the Repub candidate.... Any campaingn will focus on his out-of-touch, undertaxed corporate kleptocracy background... Obama would run circles around him and make raising taxes on the banker parasite class a foregone conclusion...

Watch the money pour into Gingriches coffers as a result of this... Look at it this way, on a income of 50 million taxed at 15%,  a 5% increase in taxes equals 2.5 million per annum or 10 million over a 4 year term.... throwing a couple of million at Gingrichs Super-Pac would give you one hell of a return on your investment...

Sorry RP fans, in the post Citizens United era, the above scenario is how elections will be bought and paid for....

We preparing for war ?????

Well, actualy, we already be prepared - is not that the Boy Scout Motto? We already preped cause we been at War since the day the Federal Reserve took over the fudiciary management of our exchange tokens back in 1913 to finance a restart of World War One JESUS FUCK'N TITTK CHIST GEEZE JUST THINKING OF IT MAKES MY NIPPLES TAUT! Yep, the FED made our once treasured and valued  USD into a fuck'n commodity - and as the once upon a time ago most demandedesr commodity on the planet - it was hotter life, death and a wet policy insure the American grave site- I'm telling ya. We ain't stopped spilling the metalic sweet bouquet of the rosy red since our self appointed worm holes to god and afterlife, our central and her little piggy primaries.

But that's not the full reason I latched on your "high in the tree" post.

I TAKE EXCEPTION TO THE TITLE PHRASE WHERE IT SAYS .. ROMNEY OFFICIALLY LOSES IOWA ...

Ya see - I don't think - or I let some lame stream TV news zit "think" it for me and then "tell" me whereupon (whereupon !!! wow and flutter !!! never used it conversationally before - this is a real first for me!) mau then attempted to pass on what follows as "moi ownnest" - but we're past that now.

Allow a feign of the alleged official Iowan distinction twixt "certified winner" and [just plain ] "winner".

It's ain't not official because the ballot boxes from some precincts are lost to god. But it doesn't matter - all the lost ballots were for Dr. Paul anyway - so it don't matter,

According to the Iowan Republican Party, the issue was not the miss counts or lost counts or disenfranchisement or de fraud or the fact that one person could travel from precinct to precinct - without id or documentation - and vote in as many precincts as the bus can get `em too `fore the caucuses serve the last round of Monsanto  Brothers Corn Whisky - Yeeeee Haaawwww.

No the issue to Monsanto Bribees was a "what you see in the mirror issue - you know - real important stuff - like :

“Iowa GOP rules provide for a two-week certification process for each of the 1,774 precincts. The Iowa GOP will announce the final, certified results of the 2012 Iowa Caucuses following this process.

“Out of respect to the candidates involved, party officials will not respond to every rumor, innuendo or allegation during the two week process.

The Republican Party of Iowa issued this statement Friday night: “In order to clarify conflicting reports and to affirm the results released January 18 by the Republican Party of Iowa, Chairman Matthew Strawn and the State Central Committee declared Senator Rick Santorum the winner of the 2012 Iowa Caucus.”

Ya see - it wasn't about the obvious holes in the GOP's "caucus rules" that were accidentally (on purposed) legalesed so that Grey Hounds chock full patriotic multiple voting caucus hoppers - or - the GOP's [miss]management of the collected votes. Naw - wasn't that at all - it was all about not responding to rumors and allegations of  buses filled with Johnny Multivote Doe caucus bangers SO THAT NO ONE WOULD GET HEIR FEELINGS HURT.

Jez cause n Iowan GOP big wig is owned bunz up `knelling by Monsanto - don't mean he have to be too smart or too technical about the way his idiot constituents vote (like it means anything to the muggle sheeple - really - come one - it's a waste of gas!) - jez as de Monsanto Butt Boy do da bidet often an' do what he told and recite the script he be the Weed Killer's man! Betcha' a money whore politician gives a mostest more sincerest blow job than a crack whore - Betcha!

Note: The article edited out the content summary [still] cached in google. The Google summary read (as of post):
Jan 5, 2012 ... DesMoinesRegister.com Iowa Caucuses .... to make multiple votes, there should
be no "quick vote and run" allowed, but rather everyone who ..

But dat dweren't the "revised article" when dis resly was posted - I telling ya - don't dat beat all - Ignore control breaks if paying attention to them makes little Mitty or Baby Sanitarium or MouthGluedToTeat Gingrench feel sad - now can we ,,,,,

If Gingrich is leading, South Carolina must like Obama as president.

Gingrich sucked for most of the debate, but he had some good moments, so he can make clips and then he looks good. Did anyone see the Santorum attacks where he tells the audience he served with Gingrich and Gingrich was unpredictable that no one wanted to work with him. It took wind from Gingrich sails. We don't see that clip on the news. I think Ron Paul lost a lot of support in South Carolina with his foreign policy. He hasn't made a convincing argument how he would protect the scared of the terrorist hiding in the middle east.

Instead of defending his policy he needs to give example of protection.

Gingrich is pretty easy to obliterate. All one has to say is:

"Newt you recently touted the work ethic benefits your 13 year old daughter gained by working at a church. But isn't it true that after leaving your 1st wife for your 2nd mistress, that you refused to provide financial support for your first wife and your two daughters? Were they not forced to return to Carrolton GA, to a house where they had no food and no utilities? Wasn't this job, a job your 13 year old daughter was forced to take, really an act of charity by the local church that? Didn't this church and other members of the community support the family you no longer wanted?"

Is this the type of "man" who should be president?

My bet on Mitt's taxes is that during 2008 and 2009, as part of some of the Stimulus legislation, the Feds extended net operating loss carrybacks.  Normally, if you have an NOL, you can carry it back 2 years or carry it forward 20.  The reason you do this is obviously to recover tax you paid in a previous year.  As part of the stimulus legislation, they extended the carrybacks; for losses incurred in 2008 or 2009, you can carry those losses back 5 years.

Even if your business didn't run a loss in those years, there's always the option of creating a loss by paying a huge year-end bonus to the shareholders.  Or he might've paid "management fees" to some offshore vehicles so as to be able to recognize the loss for his U.S. companies while deferring recognition of the management fees as income by keeping those fees offshore.

why the hell is everyone onto this 'forgive Newt for his past transgressions he's only human', when his past transgressions CLEARLY show a PATTERN OF CONDUCT.

Ron Paul's one sole past transgression (not monitoring his newsletter better) is being held up against him (but note, NOT A SINGLE NEWS MEDIA OUTLET has dared to call him RACIST... because they know he's not. They will only say his 'affiliated newsletter printed racist/bigoted articles').

It's all a crock of shit.

If ANY of the current contenders other than Ron Paul win the presidency we truly are fucked. Romney might be able to help the business side of the economy a bit, but it won't do fuckall if we spend $2 trillion on the military and piss off 1 billion muslims in the process. Not to mention threatening China repeatedly with a trade war / currency manipulator status / Taiwan strait issues etc.

Gingrich, Santorum and Romney would ALL result in WAR with Iran, an expanded military, maintenance of the NDAA, passing SOPA/PIPA legislation in some way shape or form, increased spending, increased inflation and reduced CIVIL LIBERTIES.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who's SOLE MESSAGE is indvidual freedom. Everyone else is saying they will be a benevolent dictator. Even Obama on the NDAA said they'd never use that power.

So if you'd never use it why do you NEED it?

Illuminati controlled candidate Obama or Illuminati controlled candidate Romney or Illuminati controlled candidate Gingrich.  It's not like we have a choice.  The Illuminati want a global governement, and unless Americans wake up and realize all the candidates (except for Paul, but maybe I'm being naive) are nothing more than carefully crafted muppets, America will lose it's freedom and assume it's place as a third or fourth rate slave country in the new global order.

I was kind of a dick in my comment, sorry.

However, I don't see any evidence that the status quo is ever prevented from having its interests advanced - no matter what the plebs do at the ballot box.

I have no idea who you think the 'status quo' is, but I assure you, theDNC annointed Obummer and pushed Hillary aside, undermining her at every opportunity. They covered up Edward's affair when the rumblings were there as early as October before the first primary. Had that come out, Hillary would have picked up most of his supporters, and beat Obummer in the early Southern primaries....especially in SC where Edwards was a favorite son.

America as you think you know it ended a long time ago.  Two candidates, one from each party, that are fully vetted by the real power structure, is part of the charade.

I also will not let the door hit my ass on the way out if Obongo steals a second term. Natural born means not just born here but born here of TWO citizen parents.  It really doesn't matter whether he was born in Hawaii, or Indonesia, or Kenya.  It doesn't matter if he had an Indonesian passport that allowed him to travel to Pakistan at a time when a US Passport would have prevented it.  It doesn't matter if he applied to college under foreign status.  Only one parent who is a US Citizen means NOT Natural Born.  Ergo, not eligible to hold the office that he currently holds.

My choice is Paul, but I'm realist enough to realize that that will not happen.  And it saddens me to no small degree.  All true conservatives are libertarians.  Wanting the government out of my life as much as possible certainly doesn't mean I want them making decisions in my bedroom.

I am tired of the party that supposedly represents my interests continuing to put candidates that do not represent my interests and being told that this is as good as it gets and besides you need to vote for our guy because they other guy is worse than our guy.

I would prefer Paul as the nominee but if the nominee becomes Gringrich or some other, I will once again, but this is the absolute last time, hold my nose and vote for Gingrich.

If the nominee is Romney, I will stay home, sit on my ass, and watch jersey shore, american idol, or some other worthless shit.

I WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, CHOOSE BETWEEN THE CHOCOLATE AND VANILLA VERSION OF OBONGO.

With the exception of Paul and Romney, the entire fold is of the "THIS IS FUCKING BEST THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS TO OFFER? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"  The most incompetent, corrupt administration in the history of the republic.  The most unpopular president since Truman.  "AND THIS IS THE FUCKING BEST YOU HAVE TO OFFER?  GRINGRICH?  ROMNEY?  SANTORUM?"  How about a real fucking conservative for a change.  (Apologies to RP).

Romney, however, is absolutely pathetic!  After the mess that the financial meltdown has been and is, the option offered is a certified Wall Street Bankster.  Complete with a 15% effective tax rate.  Offshore accounts in the Cayman's.  The architect, through Romneycare, of Obamacare.  Tax increases under his governorship (increased fees is increased taxes is increased gristle for the bureaucratic government mill).  A guy who has LOST more elections than he's won.

I'm telling you again, Romney winning the nomination is A GUARANTEE OF A 2nd OBONGO PRESIDENCY.

Just one more beer, then I'll quit. Just one more smoke, then I'll stop. Well, he beat me 3 times this week, but I'll give him one more chance because I know he loves me.

It's sick, twisted, detrimental-to-your-health/liberty/country thinking. O'Dumbo, Gingrich, Santorum, and Romney all serve the same master, and it ain't you.

Oh, Conrad, I realize that.  Sort of the point of my post.  Just saying, I will hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils, but I will not, absolutely not, do it for Romney.

And it's not just my health/liberty/country.  It's the whole wide world, my friend.  The whole world serves the same master and it ain't either you or I.  That's why it IS important to participate.  There's nothing you or I can do to change the big picture.  We can, however, nibble at the edges of own small corner of the world.

Research Gingrich's devotion to Alvin Toeffler and his wife.  Gingrich wrote the forward to his book, "The Third Wave".  Gingrich says that although the Constitution has served the country well for over 200 years, it is obsolete and must be rewritten in order for America to PROGRESS into the future.

Do you really want someone who believes that?

You have NO idea how bad Gingrich is, for a myriad of reasons no one ever discusses.  He's at least as bad as Mitt if not WORSE....he is a dangerous, deceptive man!

Do you not understand that Gingrich is a SUPREME globalist, psycho-futurist, liar?

If you study his record carefully, very deeply, you will see that he acclaims Roosevelt, and even called himself a "Wilsonian politque".  Who in their right mind calls themself that?

He has NOT changed any of his core beliefs....he is LYING for political expediency!  Not to mention his narcissistic/sociopathic love of himself and ZERO concern for others.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You will hate yourself FOREVER.....and that wouldn't be fun, would it?

There is NO difference.  Obama prefers communism, Gingrich prefers militarized fascism.

Furthermore, why waste your vote on someone who CANNOT, under any conditions, win the youth, the minorities, the independents, or the women.  So a vote for Gingrich is a vote for O.  Why not take the chance and WRITE RP IN!

I forgot to mention that, unlike you, the vast majority of Ron Paul supporters WILL NOT vote for anyone else, b/c they know that it won't matter and that would go against every principle they hold.   SO THERE GOES A HUGE VOTING BLOCK THAT GINGRICH WON'T GET.  See how it works?   Get some principles, man!

Or suffer as a slave to the Hegelian Dialectical Process forever.

Don't sleep with the enemy.

WRONG. You have to understand the polls. Romney 43%, Obama 43%. Obama 43%, Gingrich 37%, ect ect. Obama 43%, Unnamed space alien dedicated to obliterating the planet 5%. You see Obama always gets 43%. Everybody knows who he is and what he's done and only 43% support him. He might round up 1-2% more but that's it. You see it in all the other polls as well. Deserves to be reelected 43% yes, 55% no. Is doing a good job with the economy, 40% yes, 55% no. He can't win unless the economy starts producing 300,000 new jobs each and every month.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Maybe you & Willard "mittens" Romney can move to the Caymen islands.

....and you mIght as well start settling your affairs, because none of these deeply flawed candidates, with the slim possibility of Paul, can beat Obummer, unfortunately. The big money knows it, and the Dems will have all they need. In fact, don't be surprised to see them take back the House & increase their Senate majority.

OWS will awaken with the spring. Already, the 99% meme is embedded in the mind of America. The next concept, which everyone instantly 'gets', is that corporations are not people. Obummer & the Dems may not be able to co-opt OWS, but they sure can point to the Repubs and scream that they represent the 1%. If you can't see that, you have not been paying attention to just how many rabbits TPTB can pull from an assortment of hats. QE3, or 4? No problem. Increased security alerts (a Bush favorite)? Check. Need an all-out war? Let's roll.

Of course, anything can happen, but, pragmatically speaking, if I had to betcha' $10,000, my money would be on Obummer

My wife is working the Polls today in SC, so I'm in charge of dinner. It's time to baste the ribs again & make the first batch of Margaritas. Her precinct has been heavy to steady all day, despite the rain

Come on down to Australia, like I did in 2005 after Bush was re-appointed. They have a few different laws here:

1. Every citizen is required by law to vote, $5000 fine if you don't

2. Campaigning may not be conducted earlier than 6 weeks before an election, also illegal

It's not perfect but it's better than the multi-year spectacle the US elections have become. No time left for governing.

Ahhhh giving up already?

Try talking to your relatives about Dr. Paul instead. It's the message... why we are the Fight Club.

The Rules of Fight Club.

1st RULE: You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB.

2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about FIGHT CLUB.

3rd RULE: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.

4th RULE: Only two guys to a fight.

5th RULE: One fight at a time.

6th RULE: No shirts, no shoes.

7th RULE: Fights will go on as long as they have to.

8th RULE: If this is your first night at FIGHT CLUB, you HAVE to fight.

By your statement you broke the 3rd rule... you are tapped out!

This could actually give Ron Paul a pretext to run 3rd Party, he could just say that the whole Primary election process is a sham(which would be credible with what's going on) and run Independently!! There's no way the Republicans will let him get the nomination regardless of any election results
