Romney Ratifies Ryan; Proscribes Pawlenty And Portman

Tyler Durden's picture

Mitt Romney is set to announce his choice for running mate tomorrow morning according to Bloomberg news. The wires are alive with multiple sources confirming it will be none other than Paul 'budget-bill' Ryan - which appears to be a more aggressive choice than the safer options as Rubio, Portman, and Pawlenty are all bridesmaids and not the bride. Ryan-ney? Rom-an? R-Squared? Ro-Ry?

Via NBC News:

Three different sources close to the Romney campaign indicate to NBC News that Mitt Romney will announce House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate at tomorrow's campaign event in Norfolk, VA.

The announcement will be in front of the U.S.S. Wisconsin -- which just happens to be Ryan's home state.

I'm from CA...can't we just carve out the SF/Bay Area and LA Basin?  While the those areas are of geographical insignifigance they do exert an unfair influence over the rest of the state (which is fairly normal) because of their large populations of liberal adherents.

But then WHO would control our money? You know tell us how we can live to grow the economy. WHO would look out for the working man. We need people who are highly edumacated, we must make sure they have a standing in this new society where they can make decisions for us without bothersome political control. Don't want the new Republics interfering with economic designs that will benefit all?

History repeats.

They bankrupt counties, collapse happens but the banksters never lose, never are eradicated. Some lower level employees are sacrificed but the owners are NEVER confronted. No country ever goes to WAR with a private corporation. The same private corporation that funds the wars the countries are conned into fighting. For it to end the planet must declare a war with the banks otherwise they just start the CON all over again the same gangsters(owners) selling the slaves the same shit all to benefit themelves.

Humanity? Hardly when you take out the bullshit its just owners(Cartel of BANKS) , employees (Governments) and us the paid slaves.

I hate banks. They do nothing positive for anybody except take care of themselves. They're first in with their fees and first out when there's trouble. Harvey Goldsmith

The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the banks. Lord Action

It is a wise man who lives with money in the bank, it is a fool who dies that way. Proverb

Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money and control credit, and with a flick of a pen they will create enough to buy it back. Josiah Stamp

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. Henry Ford

When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes, Money has no motherland; financiers are without? patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.
Napoleon Bonaparte

If all bank loans were paid...there would not be a dollar of coin or currency in circulation. Someone has to borrow every dollar we have in circulation. We are absolutely without a permanent money system. Robert Hemphill

Several states with resources and productive manufacturing bases are tired of sending money to socialized states. So yes I can see them telling other states to fuck off. Especially if they already have a large military contribution. One thing is for sure, banks win again. Time to make some new bets, err investments, on Monday.

Great.  I live in Cali and can't/won't leave for lifestyle reasons (translation: I love the ocean sports).  Your solution puts me in a situtation similar to being stuck on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain.

Well, its either that or the California and New England gangrene spreads to the healthy spots.

upWising's picture

California receives cents on the dollar for each tax dollar sent to the Federal Vampire in DC>and the money ends up subsidizing "fly-over Bible Thumpers" in the Dakotas, Alabama, Kentucky, etc.

Were all of California's tax dollars to STAY in California, and were California unburdoned from the "Defence" establishment boondoggles that are a black hole for money, California would prosper and boom. California could easily stand alone, with the eighth largest economy in the world, being a tremendous net exporter of food, and blessed with massive solar resources. Los Angeles County alone has more people than half the current states, each of which has two senators.  California could easily adopt the Canadian collar (or Norwegian krone) as the "National" currency (Iceland is considering the move; Ecuador, Panama, El Salvador, and other countries use the US dollar) and become a sort of Baja Canada or Western Norway.

Crazier ideas have come to pass when the chaos hits a critical mass.  Conservatives and Liberals alike couldn't bemoan decisions being made closer to home as California unshackels itself from tons of idiotic Federal regulations.

California Republic -- just look at the flag.

Lednbrass's picture

The statement that California contributes more than it receives from Uncle Sugar is a lie and has no basis in reality. It is just another self deception.

2010 Consolidated Federal Funds Report- see Table 13 graph 1 on page 26.

Califronia received $333,809,000,000 in total funds from the Federal government in 2010.

IRS Tax gross collection stats by state for 2010-,,id=206488,00.html

Gorss federal tax collection for California in FY2010 was $273,353,106,000.

California was the 3rd largest gross receiver of Federal funding in 2010 at $60,455,894,000. Only Virginia and Florida were higher. Claifornia got $1.22 for every $1 sent.

In reality there are only 4 states who send more than they receive at this point, New Jersey (38 billion), Minnesota (23.6 billion), Delaware (7.25 billion), and Illinois (1 billion)- an that entire surplus gets wiped out by the vast Federal apparatus behind Virginia's 78 billion.

Almost all states now get more than they spend and are hooked on the heroin of borrowed money.

For all the opposition to the bankers, TPTB, the MSM and everything else like that expressed on ZH, I have yet to hear substantive attacks on Palin. Some can't see beyond the fact that she is nowhere near as, well, non-attractive as the opposition's ladies - think Janet Reno, Janet Napolitano, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc. (Not that looks should matter.) Any honest appraisal of her record of public service, which began at the local school board level and eventually took her to the Alaskan governor position, shows a relentless drive to oppose TPTB and actually do things to benefit the average people of Alaska. The Alaskan political establishment, both parties, detested her.

Palin was a gutsy choice for McCain. She was also the only one of the four running that was qualified, by prior experience, to be in the Oval Office. She was attacked and destroyed because she was everything Democrats say they want but really don't: a competent, non-white-male leader. Anyone here who truly believes in smaller, less intrusive government should be defending her, not attacking her.

Let the attacks begin. I just hope they have real substance and aren't idiots who mistake Tina Fey for Palin.

Pizza man's picture

Palin was a great choice only if ideas and record matter.  However, I get it. When she speaks, her mouth does an end-around on the idea she is communicating. Luckily, her brain always brings her back onto point in the end. You have to get used to it. Just her style.

She is certainly no aristoctrat, but "of the people". Guess that disqualifies her as a good and honest statesman. (stateswoman?)

I believe most people like and appreciate her record, but worry other will think them daft for openly supporting her. A shame. If anyone here supports the Tea Party and has (some small) hopes pinned upon a realistic, small governmnet, sound money movement saving America it will be largely because Sarah Palin is tirelessly working to get the best possible people elected.

Just saying.

WonderDawg's picture

Palin was elected and entrusted by the people of Alaska to be Governor. She quit in the middle of her term to pursue personal glory and wealth.

Sorry, but if you quit on the people that elected you, you don't deserve the chance to run for a higher office. She's a quitter, a marginally intelligent bimbo, and a power-hungry publicity seeker. I'd bang her, but I don't want her making any major decisions for the country.

Walter E Kurtz's picture

I met Palin at a local sporting good store up here.  She was with her husband and was about to go on a moose hunt.  No cameras or security around. She and I had a non political conversation about the area we live in and my job.  Even though I don't agree with her far right views and reality TV drama, she came across as super nice and of average intelligence.

Just like many of the rest, Palin is an Israel firster, a neocon, and a Christian Zionist tool(as are Romney and Ryan). Check her necklace in this pic:

Anyone on the national stage who toadies for Israel's interests first instead of the real interests of America is a FAIL in my book.

However, ZOA’s Klein insisted, “Evangelicals are more supportive of Israel because they believe in the Bible.”

Sarah Palin, he said, is definitely a pro-Israel evangelical. Klein, who said he knows Palin personally, said she had a picture of an Israeli flag in her office while governor of Alaska.

“She is an ardent supporter of Israel,” he stated. “She also understands that Israel has given all of Gaza and half of the West Bank and gotten nothing in return.”

He praised Palin’s comment and said other GOP candidates must make similar expressions of support if they expect to win evangelical votes.

" “Evangelicals are more supportive of Israel because they believe in the Bible.” " - FAIL! More like they believe the references that the Scofield Reference Bible inserted into the Bible:
Among more traditional churches that encourage, and in some cases recommend, the use of the Scofield Reference Bible is the huge Southern Baptist Convention of America, whose capture is World Zionism's crowning achievement. Our report on Southern Baptist Zionism, entitled "The Cause of the Conflict: Fixing Blame.

Scofield, whose work is largely believed to be the product of Darby and others, wisely chose not to change the text of the King James Edition. Instead, he added hundreds of easy-to-read footnotes at the bottom of about half of the pages, and as the Old English grammar of the KJE becomes increasingly difficult for progressive generations of readers, students become increasingly dependent on the modern language footnotes.

Scofield's notes weave parts of the Old and New Testaments together as though all were written at the same time by the same people. This is a favorite device of modern dispensationalists who essentially weigh all scripture against the unspoken and preposterous theory that the older it is, the more authoritative. In many cases the Oxford references prove to be puzzling rabbit trails leading nowhere, simply diversions. Scofield's borrowed ideas were later popularized under the labels and definitions that have evolved into common usage today--"pre-millennialism," "dispensationalism," "Judeo-Christianity," and most recently the highly political movement openly called "Christian Zionism."

Thanks to the work of a few dedicated researchers, much of the questionable personal history of Cyrus I. Scofield is available. It reveals he was not a Bible scholar as one might expect, but a political animal with the charm and talent for self-promotion of a Bill Clinton. Scofield's background reveals a criminal history, a deserted wife, a wrecked family, and a penchant for self-serving lies. He was exactly the sort of man the World Zionists might hire to bend Christian thought--a controllable man and one capable of carrying the secret to his grave. (See The Incredible Scofield and His Book by Joseph M. Canfield).

Other researchers have examined Scofield's eschatology and exposed his original work as apostate and heretic to traditional Christian views. Among these is a massive work by Stephen Sizer entitled Christian Zionism, Its History, Theology and Politics, Christ Church Vicarage, Virginia Water, GU25 4LD, England

We Hold These Truths is grateful to these dedicated researchers. Our own examination of the Oxford Bible has gone in another direction, focusing not on what Scofield wrote, but on some of the many additions and deletions The Oxford University Press has continued to make to Scofield Reference Bible since his death in 1921. These alterations have further radicalized the Scofield Bible into a manual for the Christian worship of the State of Israel beyond what Schofield would have dreamed of. This un-Christian anti-Arab theology has permitted the theft of Palestine and 54 years of death and destruction against the Palestinians, with hardly a complaint from the Judeo-Christian mass media evangelists or most other American church leaders. We thank God for the exceptions.
