Ron Paul: "I Don't Fully Endorse Romney For President"
On the 'new' eve of the Republican Convention, it appears all is not well in the Romney-Ryan ranks. In what is quite a stunning admission, though not entirely surprising given his outspoken desire for a change to the status quo, the NY Times is reporting that Ron Paul does not fully endorse Romney for President. Mr. Paul, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined. "It wouldn't be my speech," Mr. Paul said. "That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president." Whether this is Paul playing an admirable 'long-game' and/or standing by his libertarian roots (or angry at his apparent marginalization) is unclear but one thing is for sure; with the dominance of 'young' voters (seeking 'change'?) behind Ron Paul relative to 'old' voters with Romney, this rebuff will not help in the fight against TOTUS. As BigStory reports, Paul is telling his supporters to stand firm because "we will become the tent eventually!"

You guys are all talking who to vote for??? Seriously, WTF? I'm not sure why I spent the time, other than I find it interesting to see one congressman of the same party say "Fuck you. I'm going to tell the truth." None of your voting is going to make any difference. It boggles my mind people continue to buy that myth at this point.
If I was going to vote, which I'm not, it would be for the person who said that.
I'm not being fatalistic. I'm really not. I just have better things to do with my time than to squirm over these fucking personality contests.
Audit the Fed.
Abort the Fed...at least the Left can get halfway behind that message...
Montanans for Ron Paul. Hey, almost beat that clown from Arizona last election. The two party electorate sucks. We need a strong third party.
What we need is a 7-billion party system.
Live your own life and leave mine alone.
Erase the notion of "rulers" - period!
Any reasonably intellegent person knows the art of compromise... especially to move a country foward and out of the abyss... it is only the ultra corrupt, loyal now only to their elite paymasters, who would be willing to see a country weakened or destroyed rather than give even an inch in deviation to their insane instructions. The gridlock in congress is an example. Small wonder they want our guns.
Any reasonably intellegent person knows the art of compromise...
Don't they call that "poisoning the well?"
Ultimately, it's classified as the HEGELIAN DIALECTICAL PROCESS!
Well, it either is or it isn't, that's for sure. I know I am completely against those people who think it isn't.
Audit the Fed.
Failed banks who grabbed taxpayer money ought to show their accounts.
Well if you want a Fed Audit you won't get it from the Democrats
“Opposition in Congress came chiefly from Democrats who said they doubt the bill ever becomes law — but worried about sending a signal to financial markets that lawmakers want to intervene in financial affairs.
Democrats warn Rep. Paul’s ‘audit the Fed’ bill will politicize monetary policy

L,
In my small part of the world, there is a quiet cold hard fury. CONgress be damned.
Nice Paul spin on being tossed from a speaking slot.
Ron Paul, who had the opportunity to run as a Libertarian — which he has done in the past — made the decision to become and run as a Republican. As such he was accorded the priviledge of participating in the numerous Republican debates and used that forum to disseminate his own unique conservative views.
Having received those benefits, having received votes and delegates from state primaries, and having lost the delegate count — he now decides not to support the overall winner. And naturally and morally he was denied a speaking slot at the RNC. Benefits he’ll take; responsibilities, no. What in hell did he expect? Even his own son, Rand, realized that his father’s campaign was dead and endorsed Romney.
Ron Paul has repeatedly expressed his opinion that the United States of America deserved the terrorists attack on 9/11. Why? Because we have military bases in other countries — nevermine that we were invited in by those countries; nevermine that our presence there added millions, if not billions of dollars, to the local economies. And for that Ron Paul thinks thousands of Americans deserved to be murdered. Sadly that will be Ron Paul’s legacy despite his admittedly great work pushing for a responsible economy.
In the Republican debate when Paul expressed his blame Americew views, he was booed violently. Had he stuck to what he knows, economic responsibility, he might made a race of it with Romney. In addition, he makes a point of his ‘idealism’ of over 30 years, of not compromising with his lofty principles. Yet this same ‘idealist’ who made deals with radical Lib Dennis Kucininch and even vowed to place him in his cabinent were he elected, won’t deal with Mitt Romney.
What we have left is a very old man in a very bad sulk.
Ron Paul represensents the people who are fed up with hucksters in CONgress and Wall St.
Audit the Fed.
Well, it's encouraging to see such a cogent position presented by the Red Team. I feel safer choosing not to vote now, knowing that the country will be left in equally competent hands, regardless of the outcome in November. Thanks.
By the rules, Ron Paul gets a speaking spot. So the predators-DBA-republicans ignore and abuse the rules, and simply refuse to let him speak. Period. Anyone who expects predators to follow rules, even their own rules, is a moron.
Livermore,
Sorry mate, complete fail. If both candidates are evil, why would anyone vote for the lesser of? Rons son is a cop out, co-opted son of a bitch.
At least paul speaks and sticks to his guns, you on the otherhand???
Being that there are any number of black swans out there, it seems clear to me that doing some degree of preparation to handle unexpecteds ranging from a 4 days mini weather disaster to as extreme as TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it).
So I made this list, in Excel, intended to be used as both a checklist and an assessment. Feel free to download it in Excel and use it, improve it, mod it, send it back with new ideas.
What would be really cool would be additional links to resources for some items on that list. Comments appreciated.

Nice try to divert attention from this article.
Fail.
I still like Ron Paul. But I wouldn't vote for him.
Disclaimer: I would likely not vote for POTUS unless Jesus came down on a blazing chariot with "Vote for Jesus" on the side. And even then, I may have second thoughts, especially consiering Jesus should not have to ask for my vote.
who the hell would you vote for? Any Presidents of the last 100 years?
Robert Kennedy was a good POTUS. Oh ,wait, his brother was POTUS, Bobby just had his ear.
Hmmmm.....
We could use the process of elimination:
Obama? No. Bush? No. Clinton? No. Bush? No. Reagen? No. Carter? No. Ford? No. Nixon? No. Johnson? No.....
I don't know, dallas, it ain't lookin' good.
Perot
RFK
McKinley
Coolidge
Being rejected by Romney is something to be proud of.
Obama is a good guy. He's paying some peoples' rent and making their car payments. And you should never take back something you've given to people. They gets mad.
Asshole.... You and Obama....
I give you a +1 for writing sarcasm that people don't get.
I'm writing in Mickey mouse....tired of deciding which is least worse
thats cuz yer goofy.
The GOP has become the conservative democratic party. Obama will just kill the US financial system faster.
It is a subtle symptom of exactly how far off course we actually are --
when we know we are lost, but still the simplest truths are a point of contention...
So then, true to form, along the same tack that got us here,
let's all "play politics" and deny the simple truths all the way 'til we sink this ship.
And if you'll notice, it is not just the politicians, or the media, et al playing politics...
you might even find the game being played in your own back yard (so to speak),
or anywhere else you might be using your voice......
Good for Ron Paul.
If his truth and integrity bother you, you are a symptom of a certain-to-fail arrangement.
This "election" is more like a firing squad wherein the condemned is queried as to which caliber of bullet he wants to be shot with - .308 or 7.62 NATO?
The consequences of the Paul takeover will be felt for years to come.
Take a moment to see how Ron Paul's stances line up with our Constitution and are the best ... that predicted the economic collapse - we need the teacherand, and here is the student....
Watch and learn,people...

anyone know why my new Walmart no longer sells ammunition of any kind other than BB's and pellets???? Best price on 9mm ammo in town. All ammo now going to TSA and HSA??? Any ideas???
I think the Buck stops there.
They still sell plenty here. I can buy an AR-15 at the local Walmart if I choose.
Obammy and Mittens are the same.

I heard a Maine Paul delegate call out for supporters not to give up, to keep on working for change.
Therein lies the hope.
What we are facing however appears Biblical to me. Just want to be on the right side upon death.
The script is already starting to become familiar.
Obama will win, the "conservatives" will have a breakdown, just as the liberals did in 2004.
And some more Treasury debt will be issued to pay for life in the asylum, and we'll circle the drain a little longer.
Look people, if you pay attention, you will come to the conclusion that America is the Titanic. If you want to follow or think about politicis, do so at the local and at most state level.
If you want to follow or think about politicis, do so at the local and at most state level.
While I agree with you 100% in this regard, I also recognize that the world is moving in the opposite direction. I think there are two possible outcomes: centralization of power will culminate in a global political/economic structure, or it will break the world. I don't see anything in between.
Yup, spaz! When enough people in a geographical area realise that democracy
as we know it is a failure, and is helping bankrupting us, the solution will
be local. That means, keeping other power structures out of town.
Then we can tell the big politicians what we want.
We gotta stop being envious of our neigbours and work with them. trading locally.
not sending money to Capital or the capitol or CHina. Otherwise we'l
slowly die out.

I don't fully endorse Romney. I don't partially endorse Romney. I don't endorse Romney.
Those statements aren't inconsistent.
No one hires controlled opposition who stutter and ramble, you guys are clowns. Any placed and supported mouthpeice is a pretty buy, duh, Paul is real, a fluke.
Sorry, I am only in my second year of clown school. I am majoring in balloon engineering with a focus on tieing balloons into political icons. What the (*)&)(*)( did you mean?

false. Read it, its a repost of article from 9/11
Go see Obama 2016 and then see if you give a shit about what Ron Paul is saying.
The only politician with any shred of decency. Sticks to his principles and message.
We will get Obomney in the end. Yes it's a pun. Corporate America will win yet again as the sheep sleep.
Although, you have to admit, there are few things more entertaining in life than watching Republicans eat each other. Hand me the popcorn and let's hope they rip each other to shreds.

jumping in near the end and i've got to say the regs a little heated over what i say is a non-event.

News flash bitchez-silver over 31 on futures
I'll bet that makes you happy, having bought in the 37 range. lol
You PM bugs promote the last listed price of AG and AU. WHAT FUCKING DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
If you are truly in it for the long haul, the daily price means nothing. The end result, after the crash and reset, if you are correct, is the concept.
You say it is the preservation of capital but yet, you track the price like a missile, day to fuckin day.
WHY?
If you think the economic situation is going to get so bad in the next year or ten, why do you endlessly try to convince people like me, to buy PM's?
Are you really so ultrairistic that you want to save the world or are you trying to pump the prices so you can sell higher. It reminds me of a penny stock scam. Why in the world would you give two shits about me as you don't even know me?
WHAT are your motives to encourage the rest of us to buy PM's
Answer that! Why should you care what I do with my assets? Are you my angel? Saving me from myself? Or are you merely looking for confirmation that you decision to buy PM's was correct from others? Who gives two shits your opinion on buying PM's.
Either buy them and STFU about it because your convictions force you to do so or STFU. We who prefer to put out fiat into other assets don't give a shit about your opinion as you are speculators looking for he lessor fool to sell to..
Please respond as I would like to know your intentions!
Guys like Peter Schiff, Marc Faber, Jim Rodgers and Eric Sprott encourage us to buy PM's. WHY? Are they looking towards salvation of humanity? I seriously doubt it. These guys couldn't care two shits about us Joes on the street. You have to look at their audience to discern their motives.
I'm not saying that they don't have a scope on where things will go, they do, but for us Six-packers, their views should be looked upon with great resolve towards out personal situations.
Everything is a busineness model, including buying PM's.
did i ask you to buy my silver? guess you are pissed about something...
own at 37 lol.
the truth is simple; silver is money and why would one sell? simple to convert to another physical asset with more utility.
does that help. as price is relative to what; let you fill in the details since ya got it all figured out.
GFLTY
Hopefully everyone here understands their vote only matters in case of a tie, and hanging chads etc will come into play long before that.
In an earlier post, someone said the future of the republican party was uncertain. I strongly disagree. It will soon be confined to the trash bin of history. it could go in any number of ways, but I see one of two things being it's demise: 1. it did NOTHING about illegal immigration when it had the chance. Does anyone really believe those future Hispanic voters {anchor babies} are going to support the GOP? They might hold sparsely populated rural areas here and there, but the days of being a political powerhouse are over. It is already in decline, mostly by it's own efforts. the other scenario, and the most likely, is that the GOP will move to the left {this trend started with none other than Nelson Rockefeller}, and has continued. In many ways, the two parties are already too similar. look at Romney. Most of his policies mirror the Kenyan pretenders. You could come to the conclusion that the same people are forming policy for them both {cough, cough}.
is the rep convention the one with the children dancing in hospital beds surrounding a giant baby head and all the nurses force-feeding them medicine, or is that the other one
and how the hell can it be a legitimate convention if there are no judges and the American People aren't allowed to text their votes
"I don't fully undress Romney" .. what a flaky thing to say
samba!
Very hard to tell what Mitt may do... he may be on the side of the corrupt, or he may change the world... like Ron Paul hoped to... a wildcard. With Obama, there is zero doubt, he is corrupt to his big ears... his idea of change is to flush America down the loo like a big smelly turd. (muslims suck).
I'm not a Romney fan but I agree with you, he may turn out to be a wildcard. Why? People who get to be president tend to think about their legacy and, if they're not rich, perhaps about how much they can make afterwards. Obama's legacy will always be as the first "black president". That can't change and while he is obviously toxic for the US he is clearly interested in the money he'll pull in when he's ex, even though he's furthered the destruction of the US.
Being the first "mormon president" is a big ho hum, so no legacy there. Either the US will be on the upturn when Romney leaves or it will continue the downward spiral. If it's the latter, Romney knows that will be his legacy, and probably will be stuck to him even more than Obama. Romney's rich enough already that being an ex-president won't add that much to his net wealth. So it comes down to what he tries to do about his legacy, plus his competence in delivering.
Obama is cunning, Romney is actually smart and understands business and economics. He knows everything is now going down the tube and it can only be altered by radical change, which will mean cutting down the financial sector. Will he have the courage to try? Who knows? Even if he does, will he make the right choices? Again, who knows? But Obama has neither the interest nor the intellect to try and certainly not the least comprehension of what is wrong.
Obama isn't going to prosecute the fraud, so the question is, will Mittens?
Most of Mittens "friends" and former business "associates" are those that need to be prosecuted, so I don't hold my breath.
Once you can see those pulling the strings, it makes paying attention to the puppets meaningless.
Mitt, a wildcard? His financial advisors are from the big banks. His foreign policy advisers are neo-cons. George W. Bush called the super-rich his base. Mitt calls them his peers. There is some chance that a brain aneurism will turn him into a Ron-Paul-like president but it is unlikely. I wrote in Ron Paul in 2008 and will do it again in 2012.
I went down to Vermon and spoke politics to an Ethiopian and an Egyptian, groughly aged 40 and 60. Both conservative Christians. Both dead-set against Obama. One guy really likes Ron Paul, but he will be voting Romney. The other [wrongly] thinks that Ron Paul is a hypocrite and is using religion to gain more followers (I really don't know where he got that from), and will also be voting Romney.
I tried to explain to them that there's a club and they're not in it: politicians, the military, the banks, and the mainstream media, and concluded that they must never vote for whoever the media is indirectly encouraging them to vote for, or else they're just voting for the Club and not for the 99%.
They just wouldn't listen to reason. :-(
Romney will win because the brainwashing has clearly been successful.
Please vote Gary Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states. He is the only constitutionalist running. You know Ron Paul even if in the background wil be with Gary. Back just before the Federal Reserve was created Woodrow Wilson was elected He new virtually nothing about the economy. He had a neo-con by the name of Col. House move into the white house with him and House made all the monitary decisions. Why couldn't we pull a reverse by Gary getting into the white house and Ron Paul moving in with him. All we need is 39%. Please vote. They hope you will quit and not vote.
One day the stupid ass sheep are going to wake up to a world where precious metals are money again and they will be more shocked and dumbfounded than when the Nasdaq bubble burst or when 9/11 happened or when Lehman Collapsed. Oh yeah. I'll probably just write in Ron Paul. I don't think it matters for shit at this stage which pet gets the win so I'll just vote my conscious.
out of the silence come i...
all hail ron paul! find fault if you want, but find also courage, honesty, and the best interests of others at heart.
all hail ron paul.
back into the silence go...
I like Ron's stated way of thinking and I like the appearance of his character.
Unfortunately I think his last act in trying to help with the governing of this country was to make a deal... the deal benefitted the status quo republicans in the short-term, but started a long-term movement that will not be forgotten (it is his last gift).
In the short-term, his deal appears to be to have taken away much of Obama's support amongst the young/college aged and independents. In return, his son was accepted into the mainstream reublican organization and will be given power.
Also the House's approval of the "Audit the Fed" bill was a tribute to him by the many congressmen who wished they had the freedon to be like him. The fact that the bill will never be voted on on the Senate most likely another part of the deal) makes it a tribute and not really serious act for the benefit of the billions of people who inhabit his planet. Evil is still firmly in control.
Those Lieing Bastards will squash Rand Paul lie a worm. He was wasting his time endorsing Romney and disinfranchised himself for ever from us.
God, how I love Ron Paul. While I don't agree with him on all points, at least you know EXACTLY what you are getting with this guy.

Charts and analysis for the week.
I vote my conscience. I vote Ron Paul. A wasted vote is one for either Fucktard or Headuphisass. I won't vote for either one. America is already on the ash-heap of history. Whatever this is, it isn't America. Nevertheless, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, live on as ideas that can never die.
Oh shit, here come the secret police to haul me away to the psyc ward....
Gary Johnson is not a wasted vote and he will be on the ballot in all 50 states. We only need 39% of the vote. Ron Paul will be behind him will you?
Ron Paul took all that momentum behind him and squandered it. He could have endorsed someone other than Obamney back in April. He could have raised cain about the way elections were conducted to hide results. He could have used FREE Ron Paul volunteer lawyers to challenge election rigging and at least help bring it to public consciousness. WTF!
yup OWM! He should have been screaming about disenfranchisement and those stupid
machines. Any election can be manipulated. end of story. Why even campaign?
It's rigged.
RP is a game player in the final analysis.
Or maybe he knows that the gunsight is on his head. Still, it would be brave
to not play the game. then he can die a hero.
If he gets shot and injured, Dr Paul can give himself first aid.
Obama could shaft the bankers in his second term, he has nothing to lose. I'm watching the money and think the Wall Street support is going to Romney for a reason, he won't move against bankers his first term pushing quite a few crimes beyond the statute of limitations, he is the safer bet/buy for psycho-bankers.
I won't be voting for either one of them.
i gave ron paul my fucking money, its not a stupid game
I am voting for Ron Paul screw Mr. Bain and Mr. Obamination with his tax cheater Geithner, and Bernankster, and Summers, and and and.
Send all the messages you want as the vote counting thieves still laugh. Ron Paul MUST become the nominee or it's the same old shit one more time, maybe the last time.
In PA where I am, as in many states where a candidate has not met filing requirements, my state will not count that write-in's votes. Write-ins where I live are actually electronic thru a keyboard attached to a computer. No way to know if it changes after hitting enter.
i have just found new respect for ron paul......long live ron paul.....god bless ron paul!!!!!!
a vote for obmney is a vote for tyranny and feudalism and slavery...
If Paul had endorsed Gary Johnson, presstitute media wouldn't have been able to keep Johnson out of the debates w/o exposing themselves to be the lying whores they are. Johnson could have used his record on the economy as a two-term governor to lay to rest the overused lie that the constitution is outdated.
There would also have been the possibility he could have had a meteoric Perot rise in popularity.
Let's be clear.
I do not endorse Obama.
I do not endorse Romney.
I fully reject and "anti-endorse" Obama.
I fully reject and "anti-endorse" Romney.
How can anyone even begin to talk about "endorsing" predators who do nothing but lie, cheat, steal, abuse, defraud, enslave and mass murder? Just because some people say they "endorse" someone... others think they must endorse someone too? How dumb are humans, anyway?
Hell, I though all the racist bastards in this election cycle were white Romney supporters till I saw this:
New Poll Shows Romney Gets Zero Support From Black Voters
Nobody has been under the illusion that Mitt Romney would get much support from African-American voters. But zero? According to the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, that's exactly the percentage of support the presumptive Republican nominee has among Black voters, compared to 94 percent for President Obama. The remaining 6 percent said they were undecided or had no opinion.
That's bad news for the Romney campaign, which has made a few attempts to resonate with African-Americans. In 2008, Sen. John McCain got just 4 percent of their vote and George W. Bush won 11 percent in 2004.
"It's no surprise that President Obama enjoys a majority of the Black vote. But that doesn't discount the fact that he hasn't delivered on promises he made to the Black community. Fully 36 percent of African-Americans say that the country is not better off since President Obama was elected," Romney senior adviser Tara Wall told BET.com. "It is our hope that more Black Americans will see that a Romney-Ryan ticket is the right path to restoring those broken promises."
According to David Bositis, senior political analyst for the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, that likely won't happen.
"Ninety four to zero speaks for itself," he said. "But his issue positions [aren't attractive]; he has no history with Black people whatsoever; he's Mormon, a religion that until very recently was prejudiced against Black people and at the present moment in time African-Americans have totally and completely soured on the Republican Party."
The poll found that Obama also leads among Latinos (by a 2-to-1 margin), voters under 35 years old (52 to 41 percent) and women (51 to 41 percent).
But hope springs eternal, and Bositis thinks Romney could get some of the 4 percent of Black support that McCain won four years ago.
"The Republican Party has written off minorities for this election and appear to be writing off women," Bositis said.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Shit, polling motherfuckers you should have called Herman Cain or Clarence Thomas, or one of the three black guys living in Utah, for sure one of them would have said they were voting Romney.
Point is that when no black people, zero peercent, say they support Romney then RACE has to have something to do with it.... just say'in
Or maybe it's because he's a Mormon.
That's weird. Most people don't like weird. Mormons founded by a flaky sci-fi writer believe in polygamy.
It is patronising to think that black voters and many others aren't repelled by that.
I don't think that explains it. I mean a lot of black people might be put off by that but not ALL of them. And I have to take issue with your accusation of being patronizing toward blacks. It is patronizing on your part to say they would ALL be put off by the cult of Mormonism, to think they would judge his religion any differently than any other race or group in the nation. If they were 100% repelled by that then why are there no other groups with that level of repulsion?
All in all I say Romney has a really huge hill to climb in 74 days when he gets 0% of black support, 4% of the LGBT vote, only one third of Hispanics, the under 35's support Obama by a margin of 12%, women by 11%, that really only leaves angry old white guys. And that is why I bet most polls show Romney only down by about 5 points, because the only people that still have landline phones and are home to answer when the pollsters ring are old white dudes.
This should be a cakewalk for Romney with the economy as bad as it is, for him to be down so far so close to the election does not speak well of his chances.
Still writing in RP. Fuck You!

Young unemployed voters will have a choice between what they know hasn't worked(Obama) and the unknown(Romney) and will choose the latter.
Wow, I have seen some wishful thinking from political partisans in my day but that really is reaching.
The young and unemployed may be disappointed in Obama's first term even though he inherited a historic mess from the republicans, but they are poor and afraid they always will be, that is possible if they vote Obama, but it is a metaphysical certainty if they vote Romney, he being the very white all American poster boy of the super rich elites that want another 8 years to continue with what the Bush's and Raygun started, destroying the middle class for good.

Ron Paul may yet speak at the convention. There is a movement afoot to place Romney, Paul, Santorum and Ginrigh all in nomination. To be placed in nomination you need a plurality of delegates from 5 states. Ron Paul had this but lost it when they removed some of his delegates from Maine. His supporters are trying to make deals with Santorum and Gingrich delegates to get them all in nomination. A delegate is allowed to sign nore than one nominating petition. If this happens they will all speak and the RNC cannot dictate what they can say. May be a long shot but I it could happen.
That could be electrifying. Minimally, interesting.
We will now support Gary Johnson Who himself is a Ron Paul supporter. Although Ron Paul has ran out of time to run on the same ticket as Gary Johnson I am sure he will be behind Gary's Campaign. We will all be behind him as he will be on the ballot in all 50 states and he is the only Liberty Candidate in the Race. Rmoney and Obozo are one in the same socialists and Neo-Cons. Go Gary and Ron. We are with you always.
If Paul doesn't fully trust Romney, gotta wonder what level of trust he has for the Bamster? :)
Ron Paul can't get enough votes for President. But Americns can give him their vote of thanks at the elections as a mark of respect for a man who was consistent and honest right through his career.
'''Whether this is Paul playing an admirable 'long-game' ''
Tyler, please. RON 'the Boss' Paul does not play games.
Ah yes, the "wasted vote" argument again. Tell me which is the more of a "wasted vote": Voting for someone who has a slim chance to win, but if he does, there will actually be some changes in our country's direction, or, voting for the candidate who has a good chance to win, but if elected, absolutely NOTHING will change. Which is it?
Gotta love those strawman arguments that are SO common in election cycles...
A straw man, known in the UK as an Aunt Sally, is a type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.[1] To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
The argument is that there are two candidates on the ballot and there are significant differences between the two that will each have pro's and con's to be weighed with enormous impacts on us depending on the outcome. And though many here will posit that they are both puppets of a monstrous conspiracy, I am not addressing that "two sides of the same coin" theory here, that is an entirely different issue. This is about the throwing away of your votes by casting it for a third candidate who is not on the ballot and has zero chance to win.
Your "someone with a slim chance to win," I presume you refer to Ron Paul, has a slim chance indeed, he only has to get more votes than either the party's nominated candidate Mittens Romney, he also has to get more votes than the sitting incumbent president whom you clearly do not like but nevertheless enjoys more support than the opposition. If he had been the nominee of his party then he would have a chance to win, but it is Romney now with a slim chance to win and what you propose will only split the vote of an already minority party.
I have said and remain adamant that such a protest vote is the moral equivalent of electoral vandalism. If you seriously think that our electoral system is so deeply flawed then it is your duty as a citizen to work positively for change to that system. Nearly all commentary at ZH is an attack, expressing negative sentiment about America and how it is run, the posters forget that they have an obligation under the contract called the US constitution to protect their own freedoms. Of course you are going to be disappointed if you sit on your fat asses and wait for freedom and justice to be handed to you. But most of you are too busy or too cynical to even bother to get involved beyond bitching at ZH. So, go on then, show us how original and clever and involved you are, tell us as convincingly as you can what you plan to do to change things and don't even fucking cop out with an argument about how TPTB or the Rothschild bankster cartel make that impossible, if they exist and have power it is your apathy and cowardice that make that so.
Right, as a man of principle (which I think I am), could I steer this argument another way?
Why oh why do we keep on voting for someone? Anyone? Left or right, black or white, why dont we just tell the would be leader to fuck off and leave us alone? Elections? Fuck that. In what way has anyone of the fucking bastards made your life that much better? They dont, they interfere in every fucking aspect of what we do, what we should eat, what we should wear, what we are doing to the environment, what we should put in different bins, what we should think, NDAA, incorperating us as potential terrorists, fucking each and every last one of us daily.
I'm not hating on ron paul here, I would rather all politicians would just fuck off and die, leave me and mine the fuck alone to live our lives the way we see fit. As long as we hurt no others, and live by a moral standard we can all agree on, fuck it, I have had enough of people in politics ramming bullshit down my throat.
Dont vote, tell the fuckers to fuck off and leave you alone.
And as long as you lived in the US you actually think they would leave you alone?? You will need to relocate to Tristan de Cuhna to be left alone and you will still be liable for US income taxes on your worldwide income. Better stick around and see if we might possibly turn this fucker around!
Talking very much like his election is already a pre-decided foregone conclusion.
Yep, Ron Paul actually is going to vote for Obama, since he does not support Romney.......
uh huh
This is Ron Paul's swan song. He should have realised it, and when his loss to Romney
was clear, he should have had his crew start a ''third candidate" campaign. What are
his supporters doing? other than fighting and getting arrested? Another lost opportunity.
He was the only candidate who could have scared the Dem/Rep machine, even a little.
Is he trying to change politics, or is he stupid enough to think that the Reps would allow him to win? Stoopid
RP's almost as bad as the Dem/Rep "I can't see the difference" politics in the US.
He has no visible, full-time group around him to start a movement (not bullying), to bring up
junior politicians who can take his place. It's just him. A cult of personality.modest, but a lone cowboy. Stoopid.
His son is more cunning & dirty, and so he'll stick with the Reps. Imagine how many of RP's
campaigners are reading Zh and coming to the realisation that they've wasted 2 decades betting on a
soon-to-be-dead horse. If Paul campaigns separately, this year, he'll be poisoned (literally), and become a hero.
On these pages, you gotta state firstly that disenfranchisement is rife in the US, voters taken off lists,
vote machines rigged. Nobody seems to be able to sort this out. Why?
For Israel to be in favour of Romney, the game ain't over yet. He was chosen for some reason.
Either to lose grandly, or to be ready when the puppetmasters destroy Obama. They're both
bilderboys, but Romney wants more war in the MidEast.
I can't understand why ZH isn't talking about other candidates, or trying to find one. Lack of creativity.
The Fight club just gets out its pea shooter and finds its target on the computer screen and shoots.
Waste of time.
Don't Fully endorse? Like half pregnant?
Given the political crisis, this is so half hearted it makes me feel half witted or worse, half twittered!
Ron Paul has integrity. Obama and Romney are just puppets. The whole gold standard and internet freedom in the platform is pandering for Pauls votes and are just like "audit" the fed. Never will Romney bring home the military. Paul or Johnson have my vote.
Ron Paul: If I Was In Charge The People Killed on 9/11 Would Still Be Alive
At a speech today in the Sun Dome at the University of South Florida ahead of the Republican convention, the Libertarian former Republican presidential candidate said if he had been in charge 9/11 wouldn't have occurred. “Somebody — rather rationally —- said the other day on the Internet 'if those Paul people had been in charge Osama Bin Laden would still be alive.' But you know what I think the answer is? ***So would the 3000 people killed on 9/11 still be alive!”***

Just wanted to remind everyone that the president is not chosen by popular vote. All of the primary elections and nomination conventions are just circus games added by the parties. I can not stand watching people turn on friends and family over who is voting for whom...it does not even work that way.
Carry on...
Do not forget how the corrupt Republicans treated Ron Paul.
