Ron Paul Raises $1.8 Million In 24 Hour "Birthday" Fund Raiser

Tyler Durden's picture

Our congratulations and belated birthday wishes to Ron Paul, who yesterday raised a sizable $1.8 million in a "money bomb" fund raiser in under 24 hours. As a reminder this is merely an appetizer of what Paul's loyalists can do, considering back in 2007 Paul raised over $6 million in the same time frame. Nonetheless, we find it ironic that the very same fiat confetti that Bernanke prints with reckless abandon is the same that will be used to hopefully one day end the tyranny of central banking.

Press release:

Ron Paul Campaign’s Money Bomb Tops $1.8 Million

Strong finish for one day online fundraising

Business Wire

LAKE JACKSON, Texas -- August 22, 2011

Over the weekend, 2012 Republican presidential contender Ron Paul scored big as his campaign’s 24 hour fundraising event finished with over $1.8 million in small individual donations. Paul’s campaign has now cracked the million-dollar mark in one day fundraising four times.

“Our campaign is truly surging, and this is just more evidence of the strength of our grassroots support,” said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “We’ve just come off of an impressive finish in the Iowa straw poll, and our rising poll numbers and strong fundraising proves our message is resonating with people.”

This election year: the year left field becomes center field. If you're an establishment borg, don't bother.

You really love that Leo Strauss of yours. He probably should have described his own kind, The Jew, always willing to stab you in the back, fleece you out of money, and manipulate you through political tracts designed to reduce human nature to nothing of meaning.

Ron Paul has been telling people to buy gold for all the right reasons. I guess Chavez is listening too.

Venezuela Requests Gold Holdings Held by BOE, Merentes Says

“We’ve contacted the Bank of England and the corresponding protocols have been initiated to complete this operation as soon as possible,” Merentes said, according to the statement. “Once that’s done, the shipments will begin by sea.”"

If Fort Knox doesn't have to reveal how much physical gold it has, why should anyone else?

I just see this as the establishment starting to take aim at Paul, which I anticipate we will see much more of as his momentum starts to build.

Ron Paul @ the age of 76 challenged anyone that questions his age and health that he will ride 20 miles on his bike in 100 degree Texan heat with 100% humidity. He challenged any of the other candidates including Obama to join him.

Ron Paul: I’ve offered to ride a bicycle for 20 miles in Houston when the temperature is 100° and the humidity is 100% and I will go 20 miles with them and then we’ll decide who’s the youngest.

That's actually pretty awesome, I love Ron Paul but the fact he's a cyclist makes him just a little cooler.

Ron Paul is far from the perfect presidential candidate.  But for christ sake, look at the other candidates, Republican and Democrat alike.  It is pathetic that this is the best we can do, that these people are the best we can come up with to lead our country through our darkest times. It's embarrassing, really.  I will vote for Paul, whether under the Republican or Indendepent ticket.  Those who don't likely get what they deserve.  And if Paul doesn't win, my conscience will be clear when chaos comes and my assets skyrocket.

I have changed my mind. I hope Ron Paul doesn't get in. For this ship to go down on his watch would convince the sheeple for another few hundred years that free markets don't work.

Sorry Ron. :(

someone needs to to smooth over some of his responses.

the media is trying to pidgeon hole him, trying to turn reasonable muslims and reasonable jews against him, trying to turn black people against him, trying to turn the military vote against him, trying to turn people who have experience with opiate addiction against him.

you cannot say you will legalize heroin. you can't say you will let the states' legalize it either. it's like saying you will legalize methamphetamine. don't say that. say you will 'regulate it' . but if you can't because you are ron paul who doesn't regulate just say, that certain things are still black and white, and heroin is one of those things that is just too dangerous.

simple. and enough people will agree.

Or say that it should be regulated or illegal but it is the states job to do so.

Why do you hate freedom?

Aren't guns just as dangerous?

Have you heard of the Iron Law of Prohibition? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Law_of_Prohibition

When drug manufacturers are prosecuted for producing choice drugs like cocaine, they'll reduce their costs by switching to easier-to-make, crappier drugs like meth.

In other words, if you want less meth, then legalize marijuana and cocaine. People wouldn't sit in their cars manufacturing meth if there were high-quality, standardized drugs available on the white market from reliable producers and at low prices.

if those "reasonable" blacks and jews havn't figured it all out by now than who needs them? Let them vote for the status quo. RP is RP and should not re-word a thing!  His following is accelerating because he is different and a breath of fresh air. I think your definition of reasonable means asleep. Certainly no reasonable black or jewish person would question common sense. Ron Paul is PURE COMMON SENSE. It's a human thing....all races included!

people are afraid of truth and freedom, why? I have no freaking idea.....if the truth is known, wouldnt that better help us understand the current predicament that this country is in so that we can permanently fix this problem?

Well, one big problem in the world is the lack of respect for property rights. Economic theory shows that property rights are necessary for the division of labor and prosperity. And empirically, respect for property rights is correlated with prosperity.

But most people do not have the cognitive faculties to exploit these insights. Their minds are handicapped by nonsensical socialist dogma inculcated in government-run child concentration camps.

Nice visual there about kid concentration camps. My kids at school now. I feel a little sick. But you are absolutely correct. During the 2008 election they forced the one down those kids throats so bad my blood was boiling everyday when she would come home and tell me the crap her teachers were telling those grade school kids. These are 2nd graders and if the teacher says it...it's fact in their eyes.

The up side...my daughter started her political education at home and she went to school prepared. Her teacher called me and we talked on the phone for an hour about Ron Paul and later she told me she supported him. It also gave me the opening to talk to my kid about critical thinking and considering the source of information. I never dreamed that a kid that young would understand but they do and it really sticks with them. The down side is, her critical thinking skills have gotten so good, sometimes her logic is so good she gets her way. :)

"Nice visual there about kid concentration camps. My kids at school now."  Not to be hard on you but if you feel sick about this and you know the government schools are liken to 'kid concentration camps', why would you continue to send your kiddo there?  I implore my friends all the time to get their kids out of these evil institutions.   I do private school for my kiddo but if I couldn't afford it I would definitely home-school.  You could hire private tutors in the subjects you weren't comfortable teaching.  Lots of options in terms of education these days.  If you are really interested in critical thinking skills and logic I would suggest you look into the Trivium, a classical education,  that is what my kiddo is doing.

Aha ... this is the weak link in the global money printing cartel chain.  Printing causes gold to rise, but who holds all the gold?  Ron Paul supporters, who are more than happy to exchange for and distribute worthless fiat to get their man into power.

Oops.

no exchanging Au for frn's.  That is a big no-no.  Most of us view ourselves as our own central bank so we hold onto the pm's and donate paper.  But if there was a pm 'bomb' I could get on board with that.

Actually, Ron Paul's birthday was the 20th. Some time during the evening hackers launched a cyber attack on the moneybomb site bringing it down - so they extended it through noon yesterday.  $1.82 Million.  The campaign said the donations were safe, the hackers were going after the donor info!  I'm dying to know who the culprit is!
