Ron Paul Recants The GOP, Just Says No To Keynesians

Tyler Durden's picture

As we anticipate more demand-rigging, pump-priming, can-kicking experiments from Bernanke today, Ron Paul just came out with his latest stream of truthiness (via Bloomberg):

  • *REP. PAUL SAYS BOTH PARTIES KEYNESIANS, GOP 'NOT HIS
    PARTY'
  • *REP. PAUL SAYS FED PRICE FIXING
  • *REP. PAUL SAYS FED FLOODING MARKET WITH MONEY

Indeed, what is the opposite of 'between a rock and a hard place' when deciding on just who will provide 'change' in November.

Great Men are not permitted to rise to the top in the good ole USA because the powerz refuse them publicity and use their whores in the media to do hatchet jobs on them, Joe Sixpack belkieves everything they spout in the media and goes back to his beer and football.... America is finished

Only the compromised, complicit, and corrupt rise in the USSA. Great Men or even an ethical citizenry cannot be trusted to maintain a system based on theft, lies, and murder.

Ron Paul may be a good person, but he was a dupe for the establishment.  Case in point, the millions of dollars raised through his money bombs all or mostly went to the same lamestream media for political advertisements that marginalized him and his campaign, the same corporation lamestream media that are responsible for keeping the Yankee sheeple asleep.

Like a lot of his former supporters, I gave up on his campaign when he dissed the 911 truthers and when he didn't contest the blatant voter fraud in Iowa in 2008.

All those millions of dollars raised from his sheeple supporters were all wasted.  Very convenient for the PTB.

Ron Paul didn't "dis" the "Truthers." "Truthers" glommed onto Ron Paul and wouldn't let go. After firmly insisting numerous times that he believed that 911 was a case of blow back brought on by US policies overseas rather than an inside job "Truthers" finally got the message.

I love Ron Paul, but he f'd up big time by not running as an Independent or Libertarian. His nepotism ended up being very expensive for this country. Not sure why he stayed with the Repubes beside reasons having to do with Rand. By the way, Rand should abandon the Repubes also.

I wish Ron Paul would have figured out that playing the game by their rules does not work sooner.

No, he did not succcomb to their demands.

But he also did not change the Republican Party from within.

The objectives of the Party have never been aligned with those that love freedom.

The Party will use you at will and discard you at their first opportunity.

From the Party's perspective, they have neutralized the threat to their power for at least another four years.

Ron figured that out in 1987 when he sent a letter to President Reagan and resigned from the Republican Party after having been one of Reagan's first supporters on the GOP convention floor in 1976.

Ron's first attempt was 1988 outside the Republican Party and got less press than Gov Gary Johnson is getting today.  I know- I personally wrote hand written letters the the press in 1987 and 1988 complaining that they were ignoring Congressman Paul.

If you support Congressman Paul, I urge you to consider cupporting the Libertarian Party www.lp.org . It is made up of people that share Dr Paul's beliefs.  Party doesn't matter to me so much as the beliefs. I vote for candidates that are Republican, Denocrat, Libertarian, or other depending on the alternatives.

All things being equal, I vote for the minor party candidate (including Green Party that I disagree with) when ever there is a choice because I believe it is in the best interest of our country to break the collusion between the two major parties in excluding competition.

I did manage to watch some of the RNC while they were trying to show they are just "regular folk". Actions speak louder than words. I have drafted a letter based on the actions taken on RP and a CNN camerawoman.

Dear $14hr Republican,

Thank you for your support of the Big Red. The only thing we ask of you is that you do exactly as we say and not question our authority. We will let the potential nominees play throughout the process to give the appearance of fairness. But any serious threat will be defeated with any and all resources, legal or otherwise. We have a brand to protect and all this talk about Liberty and the Constitution is detracting from our message. When we say "clap and cheer" for a speaker, that is what you do! If you want to throw peanuts at a similar person holding a camera, thats ok too (but keep it out of the news).

We are running a candidate that has made his living shipping jobs overseas with a company started with drug money whose profits are hidden overseas. If we want to make America great again we need jobs and money...... He knows where to look!

Thank you morons, The RNC

Fri, 08/31/2012 - 11:10 | 2752744 mbarido

Good luck IF you can write in.  HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR BALLOT?

Here in Texas, unless at least one third party candidate gets on the November Ballet as a write-in, it is over, Texans will be unable to write in Ron Paul. Per county voting officials.

Make no mistake, no write-in, no vote by me.  I WAS 60 on July 26, 1952, and I have voted every general election since I could first vote at 20 years old (overseas absentee twice)

No write-in for the only man that has any idea of the constitution or sound money, and I am out of here quickly.

The Texas deadline for filing as a write-in was August 20th. A running mate would have had to file too and the names of his electors. He may have done it, but I don't know.

As is, the Texas GOP seems to be testing an approach that focuses on selling Ryan as VP rather than Romney as POTUS. Probably a good idea.

What a shame.

3 years ago, I was very much intrigued by Gary Johnson's potential as a candidate.  Excellent fiscal record, very good on personal liberties, solid story of individual success.  So, I was disappointed to find that he just didn't appear to have the command of macroeconomic and banking issues I've grown to expect from libertarian angled politicians.  He didn't make up for it on the constitutional/political science front either.  I understand that not everyone can be Ron Paul but I need more demonstrated understanding of philosophy and intellectual horse power than is evident from GJ's poor public speaking.  I like GJ's platform, wish him success, and hope he fills some important office but I'm hardly convinced he's cut out for the high profile gig of championing the cause of liberty.

More hopeful of the younger Paul disciples: Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, even Wes Riddle etc.

The fact is, if anyone was compelled to defend freedom liberty independence etc... by the old means, using modern tactics against the domestic and foriegn modern foe, voting certainly is not part of defense at this point. What does this mean? I'll tell you, the people are captured spiritually. Just look at the RNC and DNC. Look at the faces of the crowd, do you see any soul there? Hell no you don't. You see the prophetic strong delusion, and if you do not agree with that you are part of the crowd. The fact is, the ''normal'' war cycle is upon this generation, only now Israel has weapons of mass destruction and the global new world order algo market voice of contempt has sealed the debt mark upon all.

...so what are we to do? kill these retarted children as heros of old? ...because that's what the crowd is! ...and the political beast defines the parent evil by which their strong delusion has risen from the offer(s) of temptation and overcome not only America, but, every nation on Earth.

Naah, yuh better stand fast and do no harm, and be prepared to help out the wounded and the hungery etc... Trying to prevent global suicide is futile at this point, and America is the prime example of a people that think they are not naked.

Zerohedge used to have a lot of thoughtful members who would challenge each others statements in the comment threads.  I voted for Ron Paul in the primary.  He didn't prevail.   Most of you whiners don't even pay attention to the most important part of our governance:  the local level.  I'm not a trader, my career was that of a huimble union carpenter, who always lived well within his means.  Shut the fuck up and make a choice for a new president.  Realistically,  you only have two choices.  Stop your fucking whining already.  I live in Illinois and I have been an elected city council member for 16 months and I am tired of hearing the whining from everyone.  You want to truly change things?  Start with your own family and your stupid fucking neighbors.  Get a life,  be a  part of the solution.  Time is very short  Btw, this is the most frustrating job I ever had.  Be grateful I give it my due diligence.  Public sector unions= bad.    Fuck you nancy boys
