Santorum Said To Quit Presidential Race

Tyler Durden's picture

According to various media reports, still officially unconfirmed, Rick Santorum will end his presidential campaign. Such as this one from CNN: "Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum will announce he will suspend his campaign on Tuesday at an event in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, a senior adviser to the campaign tells CNN." The live webcast to the Santorum address can be watched below after the jump.

Santorum (n):  The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter which is sometimes a byproduct of anal sex.  Google it.

I never would have voted for him but I am sorry to see him drop out.  He was our last, best chance for a brokered convention and general chaos.

Yup.  Going to be a goddamn Romney coronation, just like the RNC always wanted.  The religious freaks who would vote for Santorum tend to have been brainwashed by Zionists, 9/11, and neocon fearmongering.  Most of them will choose Romney over Paul.  There's a slight chance RP might have won a brokered convention but we won't see that now, and he will have to run as an independent.

Correction, he has "suspended" his active campaign, he has not yet withdrawn from the race... a nifty maneuver by the Republican Establishment to ensure that his delegates stay tied up to Santorum and don't jump ship to Paul.  This will ensure that Romney receives the 1144 necessary delegates to receive the party's nomination.

RP does NOT have a shot at it.  As much as i wish he did, he does not.  And most importantly the reason he does not is becuase the vast majority of this country no longer believes in the Constitution or a Constitutional Republic.  They do not know what liberty looks like and if they did it would scare them to death.  So in short, the sad ass fuck nuts that are either in office or are running for office are EXACTLY what the American people want...

Yes SMG.

BTW - a connection between Mitt Romney and the founding Father of the Mormon Church.

Joseph Smith Jr (FOUNDING FATHER of the MORMON Church)

YES! the guy who had visions, in one of which an angel directed him to a buried book of golden plates,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Smith

Parly Pratt once described how Joseph received revelations. "Each sentence was uttered slowly and very distinctly, and with a pause between each, sufficiently long for it to be recorded, by an ordinary writer, in long hand. This was the manner in which all his revelations were dictated and written. There was never any hesitation, reviewing, or reading back, in order to keep the run of the subject; neither did any of these communications undergo revisions, interlinings, or corrections. As he dictated them so they stood, so far as I have witnessed."

Who is Parly Pratt?

Mitt Romney's great great Grandadddy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parley_P._Pratt

He not only wrote the first published defense of Mormon polygamy, he himself married twelve wives and begat thirty children.

Pratt then returned to Fayette, New York in October 1830, where he met Joseph Smith and was asked to join a missionary group assigned to preach to the Native American (Lamanite) tribes on the Missouri frontier. During the trip west, he and his companions stopped to visit Sidney Rigdon, and were instrumental in converting Rigdon and approximately 130 members of his congregation within two to three weeks

The pic on wikipedia even resembles Mitt Romney.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parley_P._Pratt

One of Pratt's great-great-grandsons is Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor and candidate for the 2008 and 2012 Republican presidential nomination.[33] One of his great-great-great-grandsons is Jon Huntsman, former Utah governor and Ambassador to China, and a candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination

At this level - Leaders are born, NOT elected

Oh boy.  What?  You sell insurance?

You obviously have very little experience in obtaining and/or recieving healthcare.  Inept govenrment running it, or insurance companies denying coverage, changing policies, raising rates and generally screwing over policyholders?  I'll take inept government, a la Medicare.  It's a smooth-running system that delivers healthcare at about 1/3 the cost of our current fucked up private system.  The VA is another, even better, example of delivering quality at value prices.

If we had any brains in this country, or if all the leadership were not in the pockets of the drug/medical/insurance industries, medical school would be free to all who qualify.  We subsidize the hell out of it anyway, but at least then there would be plenty of doctors.

Junk away, but as someone who has been buying his own medical policies, and those of his employees, for over 30 years, I know more about it than most of you.

@ yes we can.....Good for you....and with a little luck, maybe you can keep your private healthcare.

Watch your job get shipped off shore and your benfit package as it circles the toilet bowl, then come back and talk to us about the glories of our private, for-profit healthcare system when you are standing on the outside looking in......which works great, by the way, for healthy people under about 45.

Still rambling about those 'death panels' Mrs Palin?

Why don't you stop rambling and listen for a change. Obama adviser Robert Reich says "We're going to let you die," and the Berkley audience applauds:

Still rambling about those 'death panels' Mrs Palin?

Well, up here in the Great White North, there was a story last week, buried on page 8 of course, of a woman in Ontario who's dying of cancer. There is an expensive drug that apparently slows the disease, but the Ontario medicare bureaucracy hasn't got around to approving it. The drug is approved in British Columbia, but because the woman is from Ontario, she would have to pay the cost of the drug (and travel) if she went to BC to obtain it. Her private insurance company won't cover the cost of the drug, even though she has been a paying customer for years, because she lives in Ontario, and the drug's not approved in Ontario.

Now, you can appeal for an exemption on compassionate grounds, which the woman did. In the unsigned and unattributed form letter she received from the Ontario Ministry of Health, it said, in part, "the cost/benefit of the medication is not apparent at this time".

Now, you can spin this any way you want, my friend, but this is exactly what Palin and others were warning of - faceless, unnamed, and unaccountable bureaucrats deciding who lives and who dies. Maybe they're not standing next to the bed pulling the plug, but the effect here is exactly the same - this woman has a chance to extend her life, and it's being denied on a financial basis.

We've had socialized medicine for about 50 years; the death panels take a while to arrive, but they get there eventually.

I'm not crazy about Rick Santorum, but at least he stands up for his Christian faith, as he understands it.

What is grotesque is the people who hate him for what he believes. What gay people do makes me sick, but I still treat them respectfully as individuals. Shame it doesn't seem to work the other way.

That's the problem, the "law abiding" gun-permit holding citizens will be the first to be visted, if only because they are "on the list" held by TPTB.

It's the non-law-abiding gun carrying citizens that will have a head start.

Actually, why does anyone other than a convicted felon or insane person need a gun permit in the first place? How many child permits do they hand out? And why not, there are more unresponsible parents than gun owners.

Good timing.  Saturday, I told my district Ron Paul coordinator that "I'm throwing in the towel and preparing for the worst politically and economically.  Could you please put me in touch with others who share the same view".  I still think Ron Paul will emerge from Tampa with the most political capital even if Romney is the nominee.  I wish Romney the best, I hope he wins, but he will be unable to prevent the disaster that is already in motion.  All the cures he knows how to offer are as deadly as the disease at this point.

No matter who wins it, I'm guessing they'll wish they didn't.  It's all going to start early in 2013, or maybe right after the election.

There will be attempts to gloss over the fiscal situation through the election, holding the whole thing together with duct tape and baling wire, and once D.C. crosses that hurdle of the election, it will immediately go to shit.

Won't matter. All it will do is to further fuel the good ole divide-and-conquer polarized political war. Meanwhile, you empower this system by picking a side and engaging in the "lesser of two evils" strategy, or in this case the modified version of "I hope it blows up on the eviler person's watch."

Why? Because no matter which way it unfolds, "they" win.

IMO, the only good outcome for this election would be headlined as "Lowest Voter Turnout, EVER!"

Then we'd see the true undermining of political power, as the sheeple would reacquaint themselves with the idea of "consent of the governed." As long as it is seen as legitimate though, the fraud will continue, unabated.

After the election, Obama will throw the activist left under the bus in the worst possible way.  Think billy clubs and FEMA camps.  It is better for Obama to do this than Romney- makes it harder to maintain the two-party delusion.  He will try to crush the right using laws passed by Bush and by various Tea Party candidates.  This will help the right to realize that fascism kills far more people than terrorism (regardless of terrorism being mostly staged by fascists).  Also, Obama brings greater chances of secession or a military coup- which could ultimately lead to Ron Paul.

I will write in Ron Paul but hope Obama beats Romney.  America needs a clusterfuck it will never forget.  Let's make it as hard as possible for the puppetmasters to rewrite history in terms of their bullshit two-party dialectic.
