September 11: 10 Years Later
From Mark McHugh of Across The Street
No doubt September 11, 2001 changed everything. But the business of actually measuring those changes has been as overlooked by most as the nationalities of the hijackers. The following is presented in the interest of truth, justice and the American way.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I live in small-town, central MA and you would think it's fucking 4th of July with all of the American flags lining the town center, people with plastic flags, 9-11 posters, balloons and other shit that basically resembles garbage in their front yards, you would think this has turned into a fucking American holiday.
A day of atonement is going to come to Joe "sixpack" Americana, for being such an ignorant sloth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2_ZZ3gM9ig
Next comes the TOTUS proclaiming 9/11 a legal holiday. Name? How about "Freedom Day"?
The BS never ends.
In Roman Empire times, the cities teemed with peasants forced from their lands. The authorities maintained control of the unemployed by providing:
Bread , to prevent uncontrollable riots caused by starvation
Circuses, to grasp and hold their attention and thus control idle minds. [refer to definition of "entertainment" in a good dictionary.]
It worked. It still works.
perhaps that helps the men recover their warrior spirits, as this "nation" is apparently "neutered" now. . .
'Freedom' is an overused marketing term. If your sales pitch is based on 'freedom' it becomes unassailable. It's used to sell everything from Depends to Jeep Cherokees to illegal wars.
Because freedom is what America is by gawd all about!
Oh, the irony.
I voiced the same opinion recently - only to be deemed a crackpot.
I feel terrible for the innocent loss of life. What a tragedy it was. But, the emotion of the event isn't a reason to stop asking questions or to suspect that it is far more complicated than meets the eye.
The Maine, The Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, World Trade Center, etc. "Remember the Alamo."
remember the USS Liberty. tells you everything you need to know about what is going on in this world.
I asked someone how building 7 came down. Their response was, "There was a fire". Soooo there is a fire in a steel reinforced building and it just comes down? It came down really nice and neat too, it didn't wobble and tip over, it just came straight down, all at once.
I asked them where all the plane wreckage at the Pentagon was. There is no tail section, no shoes, no luggage, no bodies, nothing. What kind of a plane crash leaves no plane wreckage?
buildings like that don't tip over. If you studied engineering, you'd understand why
They don't fall into their own footprint without demolition either.
And the pilots passport wouldn't likely be recovered. Which would seem obvious.
"buildings like that don't tip over" - You're right, high rises with massive steel structures remain standing. The towers were specifically designed to withstand aircraft impact and high temperature fire, ones that last one hell of a lot longer than 9/11. The official NHTSA response(s) have varied from placing causation on impact to fire, to combo, to anything else than logical physics. NHTSA ignored Building 7 forever for obvious reasons. Even the architect who designed the Sydney opera house has indicated this does not add up.
What stuck me as a tad odd was that both towers had an almost identical collapse profile. Of course, it really could be as simple as the fact they were identical in construction. But, events like being hit by airplanes are not identical. Different angles of impact, at different levels.
There was a fire in my steel wood stove too. Actually every night in the winter, sometimes really roaring ones. It hasn't melted yet. What's going on with that?
Well, duh! Ya hafta hit it with an airplane! A toy one should do the trick. But just so ya know: if you do that, your stove is gonna collapse into a pile of rubble and molten steel and you'll hafta buy a new one. So ya might wanna consider that first. Course, if it's (heavily!) insured, then no worries.
anyone find that missing 2.3T from the DoD yet? just wondering

$24B (note: B not T)...get it right or continue looking like an idiot.
Dov Zakheim's $3 Trillion Dollar HeistTSA's looking for it with their new high tech scanners. It's probably been hidden in a butt crack or a vagina. It's only a matter of time....
Amounts as large as that need to be stolen electronically which suggests that a record of transfer exists. There just isn't that many Ben Franklins available.
Today’s MSM circus is all about Praise the Lord (for) and Pay the Taxes (to) your government that takes care of you.
I used to find it sickening. Now it is just bizarre and to avoided.
Only 2 choices Stack! You can be a Truther or a Lie-er
401Ks have been anihilated in the last 10 years.... The destruction continues. People who thought they would retire comfortably are trying to keep their jobs into retirement. Rampant unemployment, Productivity shot.....
True, but hey, if you are in fact the king of the simpletons, then you are already miles ahead of the curve already.
The initial response to 9/11 was a targeted plan to kill Al Queda and Taliban, led by the CIA and Cofer Black. They were a tight, covert, compact group, worked with the Northern Alliance, went in and kicked ass. Was a resounding initial success.
Then-defense secretary Don Rumsfeld gets jealous the army has been sidelined. Then bureacracy and government does what it always does: fuck shit up. Instead of letting the CIA run a decades-long covert operation, Rumsfeld/Bush/Cheney and the military-industrial complex invades TWO countries. No weapons of mass destruction found, yet trillions of dollars wasted and many lives lost. Obama is no better, having continued almost every Bush-era program, none of which the country can afford or pay for.
Then of course is the gross overreaching by America's security apparatus, coupled with clueless politicians who rush to pass bills into law, with little thought or foresight.
It does not please me to say this, but bin Laden was successful beyond his dreams -- and the worst of it is, for the most part, these were self-inflicted American wounds, as non-thinking, paranoid, and yes, stupid Americans rushed headlong into wasteful wars and idiotic security and surveillance.
The Treasury has been bled dry. America has lost faith in its institutions, and with good reason. The U.S. is a much weaker nation, economically, politically, socially.
That seems about right. But Wall Street was able to steal unfathomable treasure during the spilling of that blood. That can't be overlooked.
The "Merchants of Death" or "Masters of War" as Zimmerman called them have been living la vida loca since 9/11/01. Follow the money and it all makes sense.
Oh, now I get it. Al Queda and the Taliban wired WTC Building 7 for demolition with out Larry Silverstein knowing about it. Tricky basterds!
What I find interesting is that President Bush during the no fly time line, he had Dedicated Air Planes fly the Binlaudens Faimily from America back to their Country after 9-11. I wonder what they were doing in America in the first place during 9-11.
I believe they were having breakfast meetings with Bush Sr. on 9/11.

No argument whatsoever. Green arrow.
One of the greatest wealth transfers in history..
Am I the only one that doesnt give a shit about 911?
We have been meddling in ME affairs for over 50 years, even if it was men from caves that did it (very dubious) they did it because our previous actioins brought it on. We were at war with them, so they brought war to our shores.
I am from Texas, and I wouldnt give a shit if they whipped NY and DC off the map. In fact I would be more then happy, because it would be the impetious for most of the states to finally act in their own self interest. The New England states can continue to suck off Isreal and continue a war in the ME on their own accord.
This fellow Texan agrees with you.
Yep. Typical right-wing Texas libertarians. Disgusting. Don't give a shit about 9/11. Don't give a shit if NY and DC are "wiped off the map." Don't give a shit about the "United" States of America. You didn't give enough of a shit about all the freedoms you lost after 9/11 to have actually DONE anything about it at the time - like organize a gathering, protest in other organized gatherings, protest in town hall meetings, walk through the city streets with signs that say "I Want my Country Back!" Some of you goons even think our government was responsible for 9/11, but you did nothing other than write some bullshit, goofball comments anonymously on an internet board.
Yet.....
........if Obama wants people to have health insurance and tries to enact policy so that everyone has it.....HOLY FUCKING SHIT! THAT'S IT! HITLER! COMMUNIST! MARX! THE BROWN SHIRTS ARE COMING! OUR PRESIDENT IS A TERRORIST! DEATH PANELS! EUGENICS! I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!
I wonder why there is such a discrepancy? There were so many opportunities for Tea Partiers to unite and protest various inequities and the loss of freedoms far before the Obama days, yet you guys did nothing.
When your foe is committing suicide, why interfere? "Time, time, time..is on my side".
BULL. FUCKING. SHIT.
Don't try and tell me that your silence was some sort of strategy.
FUCK YOU AND YOUR HYPOCRISY!
You sure are a whiny little bitch.
Why do you complain so much about how ineffectual your enemies are?
Fine then. I don't give a shit about texas and its wildfires. Pay for it yourself and don't accept federal finds for disater relief. The fact that anyone can say I hope NYC and DC are wiped off the map, along with millions of people, is disgusting. And some people on this board wonder why they have no friends and your family have disowned you. But I don't believe most texans feel this way. I'm not from there but I find it hard to believe more than .00001 percent of texans feel as you do. You, and anyone who agrees with this sentiment, should be ashamed. Not as Americans on Sept. 11 but as human beings. Please comeback to reality. Enough of this hate for your fellow citizens.
Don't feed the trolls.
How do you know this person did nothing again? Your idiotic rant and clear path towards yelling and screaming pretty clearly demonstrates exactly how productive your efforts for society are. Listen fucknut, just because I served my country it doesn't mean that myself and many others haven't spoken out against our own leadership or marched in the streets after our. Your attitude and approach will determine your outcome more than anything. Good luck with your desire to force anyone to do anything. I for one don't think anyone should be forced to do anything, especially pay for the healthcare of those who have lived a life of gluttony or smoked their entire life and now are suffering the consequences. fuck that, maybe folks like this should simply lay in the bed they made for themselves. Some folks simply are not worth saving, like yourself troll.
......Some folks simply are not worth saving......
Yep. There it is! Just like I thought.
The right wing myth about the "sanctity of life" ends with people unlike yourself.
I love how you automatically assume everyone that posts here is a libertarian. The person you just replied to is not a libertarian, but rather a member of the peak oil death cult, which is more closely associated with the liberal global warming cult.
Good job on projecting the negative aspects of your culture on your enemies, though.
Don't forget, precious metal holder too. Once again Tom, your brilliance is astounding, I am sure your neighbors love you for it. If being successful is being bad, count me in. But I digress, I need to heed my own advice and stop feeding the trolls.
I know liberals who own PMs. It doesn't change the fact that they are liberals. The fact that you own PMs doesn't change the fact that you are a peak oiler, nor does it change the fact that peak oil is intimately associated with (as in it is the other side of the coin of) AGW. And AGW is very much a liberal cause.
Being super best pals or whatever doesn't change the fact that you are a death worshipper. I'm sure I could have been friends with someone from the cult of Ba'al three thousand years ago, but I doubt that our friendship would have stopped the human sacrifices. Of course, peak oilers don't murder people, though the philosophy, taken to its logical conclusion, demands the near-extermination of the human race, just like AGW. God help us if the government were infested with them. Then the conspiracies about poisoned water/air/food/vaccines broadcasted by the crazies might just become true.
I look for solutions, and have been successful, but real engineering and real solutions have real physical limits. Believe what you want about your "endless oil" or even the ability of current production keeping up with demand. The numbers on the flux of oil through the system are what they are and we have been flatlining for a while. Chance favors the prepared mind, that doesn't change. Oil flux may go up, but if that leads to more ignorant masses, then I don't view that as a good thing.
If history is any indication, humans do just fine when it comes to killing, regardless of their religion or beliefs. Believe what you like, just the same while I continue to try and work for the best possible outcomes, I will prepare for the worst. FYI- the people you speak of ARE the government. You are a day late in worrying if the government is infested with them. The money changers whisper in there ears every day. As always, good luck.
Go fucking cry about it.
My mistake. You already are.
Well it's funny too. I don't see any anti-war protests shutting down the streets of NY these past three years. We've escalated in Afghanistan, we're still in Iraq, and we started bombing Libya. But, NO ANTI-WAR PROTESTS. So, when the next REPUBLICAN president decides to fight whatever unneccesary war he deems proper, do us a big huge favor and STAY THE FUCK HOME AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!
When the USA violated its social contract and denied me my Natural Rights, they can get fucked.
That's one way of putting it.
You are the goofball. The angry pissed off nobody that you so despise.
More like tea-bag party
I care about 9/11. It's these sophomoric "remembrances" and vigils and wreath-laying, year after year after year, that I am disgusted by.
Enough is enough. Stop wasting time with these vigils and public grief displays, which really is just another way for politicians to get television time. Instead, spend this time and these resources on making the country safer and stronger in an intelligent way.
In short: spare the nation the goddamn pity party, cowboy the fuck up, and get to work.
911 is just another version of the holohoax (TM). they will flog it until the end of time. even if you are tired of it, they will brainwash the new generations until 911 becomes a mythic event, truth be damned.
Don't forget all of the overtime that has been soaked up this week. It has been a boon. I am sure some of that money will make its way back into the pockets of politicians. The two cops that were blocking the street and tallking about what they were going to have for breakfast made me feel so safe. God bless.
.......cowboy the fuck up.....
*LOL*
Very revealing words.
Just like I thought.
Yes, you would rather mourn the victims for the rest of your life as an excuse to continue to increase police powers and continue to start wars against brown people.
Where are the liberal anti-war protesters? Trolling the internet spreading hate and lies against the libertarians that continue to protest the wars that your messiah has failed to end.
Yeah T, it never ceases to amaze me how many self described liberals suddenly become apologists for neo-conservatism when administered by a Democrat.

Okay, I'll stop there, though I could go on . . . just on this one source's example of what thinking liberals actually think. Perhaps it will inspire some thought for you.
I just watched a replay of a MLS soccer game last night. All the players were wearing 9/11 armbands, btw, a lot of the players are foreigners forced to wear an armband! These rememberances, ceremonies and other revisionist history tactics are right out of Edwards Bernays's playbook. He would be proud.
How appropriate, for us to remember one of the “fathers of propaganda,” Edward Bernays, on this day of 9/11 crowd manipulation; thanks for your post.
The use of patriotism to bring America into WW I with massive propaganda against the Kaiser and propaganda against Hitler and the Japanese (who bombed Pearl Harbor because we pushed her into a corner in SE Asia denying her resources and cutting off her oil and later “knew” she going to bomb PH and let it happen) could be said to be an American tradition carried through with 9/11 and the massive destruction of Iraqi villages and the killing and wounding of young Americans, i.e., classic revenge. The trouble is, from Bernays through Netanyahu, this revenge has as much Zionism in the response as it has American “apple pie” patriotism.
It is fitting that Bernays, born in 1891 in Vienna to Jewish parents, combined the ideas of Gustave Le Bon and Wilfred Trotter on crowd psychology with the psychoanalytical ideas of his uncle, Sigmund Freud, to put his propagandizing to work for the administration of Woodrow Wilson during World War I with the Committee on Public Information. It was he who was influential in promoting the idea that America's war efforts were primarily aimed at “bringing democracy to all of Europe."
Said Bernays: "If we understand the mechanisms and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing it... In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons ... who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind."
There are many similar Bernays quotes: “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country." …
"The American motion picture is the greatest unconscious carrier of propaganda in the world today. It is a great distributor for ideas and opinions."

The constant reminder of 9-11 is to keep us afraid so we will gladly give up our Constitutional Freedoms.
Unfortunately, it's working.
A fucking men, it was a tragedy, we completely overreacted to causing the deaths of thousands more and pretty much sending our economy into a death spiral by spending trillions of borrowed money on a bunch of crap that really didn't make us much safer while throwing our constitution in the toilet. 3000 died in the attack, while sad it pales in contrast to the 50000+ who die every year on our highways, if the government really wanted to make us safer they would have spent the money on improved highways, no folks, this is about capitalizing on the public's fear to push a political agenda.
I'll second that and also add that most of southern california would not be missed either. Can not wait for the coming resource war to escalate. Fuck oil, what happens when Lake Mead and the Glen Canyon Reservoirs are empty (already below half pool)?
Don't forget Chicago. They have really given the country some great things. And of course San Francisco gave us the twat Pelosi. Bye bye Northern Cali. I am sure there are more but I am too tired to think about it.
Wow, you hit the REAL resource problem. Congratulations.
Water is for fighting over, universally. A few nations will start wars over oil, but EVERY nation will start wars over water when there isn't enough.
Don't forget countries starting wars over ACCESS to water or water ways. The latter is the big one.
Isn't the water problem really an energy problem (and therefore an oil problem) when you can desalinate that 70% of the earth's surface at 1.5kWh/cubic meter?
To some extent. The adoption of desalinization systems is far from universal.
I'm not sure about the cost for desalinating ocean water, but brackish water from aquifers is currently supplying El Paso at a "reasonable" cost. One of our affiliated labs is working on applying our technology to make the RO systems they use more efficacious and longer lasting, reducing the energy required by blocking biofouling.
The question is, can California afford such systems? Probably not, as they are utterly bankrupt. They will have to sacrifice a great deal of consumption to pay for such a system.
Of course, it is possible to build desalianization systems that use NO energy other than that of the sun (ie distillation rather than RO). But the capital costs for such systems are generally considered "prohibitive". Of course, when your life is on the line, you FIND the money, even if it means sacrificing everything else. But once the systems are built, they are great. The only energy cost is pumping it from the collection vessels.
Many things are possible, but even when the desalination units are built, the sun-driven systems will have real limits on production (especially in arid climates). Everything works out fine if the capacity of the system can actually sustain the population at a decent standard of living. I agree with Tom on seeking solutions, but don't bullshit people about the cost or the true capabilities of any technology. In addition, you also still need to rid the whole process of the intervention from the financial fucktards who add NO real value to the whole process of innovation, but that somehow end up holding all the money, while those that actually built the innovation slowly starve. Pretty clear exactly who the "death worshippers" are in that scenario.
Interesting. No, you ain't the only one. I've grow a little weary of 9/11 too, I feel a lot the same way minus the BY and DC rant- although I see some things to like.
Did they do this shit every year after Pearl Harbor for the next 50 years?
Memorial Day and Veteran's Day
You know thats something I've been thinking about...
WWII is always a heroic, 'nothing to fear', industrial might thing.
911 is always a fear, 'brought it on ouselves', financial ruin thing.
Is it all a Madison Ave thing? If they has presented 911 differently would it be a glorious adventure like WWII?
I know it's hard to believe, but
imagine if you never bothered to place one in your room, and turn it on.
Sorry, I couldn't help but stare at your cleavage. What did you say?
Then fucking secede already you moronic shitbag.
If it was up to me, we would gladly secede.
TX interests are not the same as California or New York. More representation by localization of government should be all of our goals, rather then the opposite of globalization and less representation.
Texas voted in Rick Perry. Perhaps all Texans are not pointing in the same direction.
you are not alone. Look at our posture- we have military bases, soldiers, and arms in half the countries on earth. We present a posture of war to the world. We have just never ever had to stomach or endure the REAL consequences of wars because they always happened elsewhere.
This is why the europeans are less inclined to charge in like fools. It's different when your homes and everything you ever had, your families, are torn to bits under tank treads or in artillery barrages. Instead, we have these pushbutton wars where we kill mounds of civilians via remote control.
Gee, who could hate us for that? Nobody; they really hate us because we can watch Idol and have our BK the way we like it.
Great insight. Other major changes include the way we view ourselves and our country. How, then, does one observe the anniversary of September 11: 10 Years Later?
If you’re Justin Raimondo you just step right up…disregard the FBI investigation of you and a full scale Israeli campaign to have you silenced, including his powerful columns on Antiwar.com…and give the knife of truth just one more deep turn.
His latest column details the frightening world of U.S. secrecy about the event of 9/11. And with the FBI on his trail, he still refuses to turn his back on the story. Included here is the story of the Israelis rounded up immediately after 9/11 for suspicious activities while observing the downing of the towers from a park on the Hudson River.
Also covered is the secret trial of Israeli-American lawyer Shamai Leibowitz, convicted of exposing Israel’s extensive efforts to influence American policy makers to support a strike against Iran. “Sponsoring conferences is one thing – but this ‘targeting’ business has more than a few ominous implications. Are the Israelis going after opinion shapers and ‘key players’ who might not favor their war agenda – and, if so, in what way?”
These efforts go well beyond the AIPAC type lobbying campaigns.
Writes Raimondo: “What apparently triggered the FBI monitoring and investigation of Antiwar.com, including myself, was our extensive coverage of Israeli covert activities in the US, particularly a number of my columns on the subject. They were so concerned that a memo from FBI counter-terrorism headquarters in Newark instructs area offices to conduct a preliminary ‘investigation’ on the grounds that we represent a ‘threat to National Security’ and are, without a doubt, ‘agents of a foreign power.’
“Why would my articles on Israeli spying provoke such an off-the-wall assessment? After all, here I am trying to expose a threat to national security – and the FBI considers that to be in itself a threat. So who’s the ‘agent of a foreign power,’ in this case – me, or them?”
Concludes Raimondo: “I am…seriously considering leaving the country. As naïve as it might sound, especially coming from a libertarian, I really did think my country was better than this. I am horrified in a way I’ve never been before: I feel betrayed – and vulnerable. While leaving wouldn’t shield me from the Evil Eye of the FBI, or whomever, it would satisfy my own desire to make a statement about the America that once was, and isn’t anymore.”
http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2011/09/08/911-and-the-bizarro-effect/
All I can say is, Kudos to the Israelis if they can pull this off and Shame on the Congress if it can be proven that major foreign policy decisions of the world's only superpower can be swayed this way. Of course nothing can and will be proven if it is profitable for the participants in DC. I find it fascinating that a tiny country like Israel is capable of pulling this off.
You outdid even yourself on that on, JR. That was beautiful.
I don't have anything to offer in return but somebody else's best work:
http://www.nationofchange.org/decade-after-911-we-are-what-we-loathe-131...
Good luck to true patriots like Raimondo. I would just like to ask him, why does he feel betrayed and why does he think America has lost what it once was?
For most of history, America was never free unless you were a white male. Every war has been an excuse to take away freedoms. It's amazing we even have a constitution any more, it's been crapped on and ignored time after time.
I don't understand this mythical America that had freedom, now lost. We are more free than we were a generation ago. Remember in the 60s black people couldn't even go to a restaurant or ride a bus without police harassment. The cops never needed warrants or to advise people of their rights. Two generations ago we had concentration camps for citizens of Japanese heritage. (I guess German born people were never spies!) Three generations ago only males could vote.
No coherent energy policy other than outsourcing it to foreign lands is at the core of the problem. As long as we value alligators in the Everglades more than US soldiers this crap will continue.
I kinda like the aligators in the Everglades. Keeps the floaters out of the Intercoastal. (sarcasm).

Can we get an update on Europe and especially Greece? I know it will be a day of rememberance and distraction, but I'm worried the worst is yet to come.
Greece imposed a new property tax to help meet their debt obligations. PRoblem solved.
I was thinking along the same lines. I want to say Bin Laden lost but I'm not sure about that. I'd like to just fade the prick. http://thecivillibertarian.blogspot.com/2011/09/september-history-lesson...
Thank you Mark and Tyler of a good snapshot of then and now.
It would be most interesting to see a snap shot of how the CDO markets impacted the US.
9/11 should be a wakeup call for the U.S. to stop trying to control the world. In almost every conflict on the planet since WW2, the U.S. has
been involved by arming and supporting one side against the other increasing casualties and often prolonging the conflict.
Wake up Zorba, this was how America was founded. The Rothschilds supported both sides of several north american wars, including the revolutionary war. You solve two problems this way, first, profits go up and second, population goes down.
It goes back further than that. But yes, the Rothschilds and Windsors are the core of the problem.
Mark,
How does inflation fit in here? Government spending is a larger percentage of GDP now than then, yes but...
Is inflation causing that number to be higher, and not necessarily new 9/11 spending?
And the chart by itself does not prove that 9/11 "caused" or is the reason for the increased spending.
Or have I got you wrong and you are not using this to make a case that 9/11 had us "sell" our freedom by allowing spending (or is that printing)?
Sorry to be dense. I want to get your point, I respect you as a poster and you have been kind enough to explain things to me in the past (a social psycholoist might say I am altercasting you into the role of the gentleman so that you will not yell at me for not getting what everyone else seems to think is obvious).
Since there appears to be so much ignorance
Around 911 and on this thread today, I have decided to take some time off from work to write a book about who was behind 911 and why.
That's the least I could do for my fellow man.
Alex Jones won't give you the entire picture ana Tyler likes to keep you preoccupied with trading.
While the entire story would be best explained in a book, instead of daily articles telling us how fucked we are.
The book will be entitled "the road to Conspiracy" because all bright minds lead to conspiracy. Conspiracy is truth, the planners of 91, knew mostly you pussy ass fagot traders could not/will not handle the truth with out some kind of mental breakdown.
And 10 years of media programming maybe even impossible to get you to see the light.
That dosn't change the fact that the truth is the truth.
I'm interested.
So tell us again why you had to leave your job in sales?
hahahhh, should be a best seller, if you ever get to it.
/doubtful.
Bill Cooper already wrote "Behold a Pale Horse".
That quote from Benjamin Franklin sums it up completely. 9/11 has been the biggest knee jerk over-reaction by an empire in the history of the world.
Dangerous liberty, bitches.
I'm with you Waffen. Funny thing is that I was married on 9/11 two years before the attacks, and when we set the date, the numbers 9/11 never crossed any of our minds as being a strange date to get married. It was just another day. Now it's a day that completley changed the US for the worst!!!!!!!!!!!! (never forget my anniversary though)
Interesting stat on billionaires ... You could make the "super rich get richer" argument more poignant if you showed the number of those making less than ten million being cut in half.
Some folks have done mighty well by 9/11. And how about all that immense shorting of our markets that took place during July and August just prior to? Read an article in the MMM in that regard soon after, then silence. GS knows more about those goings on than they'll ever tell.
I don't trust the government but couldn't the shorting of the markets had something to do with the fact that the tech bubble was clearly bursting by that time? The market was not looking strong. I think we were already in, or close to, recession by September 2011.
George Carlin on Airport Security : Posted by David Kramer September 11, 2011 07:40 AM } The LRC Blog
On this, the 10th anniversary of _____ (you don't want to know what I believe it is the 10th anniversary of) I submit another great George Carlin comedy piece which was obviously performed before the 10th anniversary of _____ as a reminder of how much even more freedom we have lost at the airports since the 10th anniversary of _____ as the U.S. government continues to wage criminal actions around the world against those who we are told "hate us for our freedoms"—you know, the freedoms that we no longer have at the airports thanks to _____ (which you don't want to know what I believe it is the 10th anniversary of).
[The usual NB for any George Carlin comedy routine, i.e., some seriously foul language—and can you blame him?]

''Let's bag it.
''I'm talking about the 10th anniversary ceremonies for 9/11, and everything that goes with them: the solemn reading of the names of the dead, the tolling of bells, the honoring of first responders, the gathering of presidents, the dedication of the new memorial, the moments of silence. The works.''
''Ask yourself this: 10 years into the post-9/11 era, haven't we had enough of ourselves? If we have any respect for history or humanity or decency left, isn't it time to rip the Band-Aid off the wound, to remove 9/11 from our collective consciousness? No more invocations of those attacks to explain otherwise inexplicable wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and our oh-so-global "war on terror".''

we dont have money for our Heros but we have Trillions MORE! for Wall Street!
let me know when you are ready to start voting with bullets!
and for all of you Libertarians who think the Fire Fighters are un-constitutional and people should put out thier own fires or drive themselves to the hospital, FUCK YOU SCUMBAGS! Go Live In Africa!! Austerity for ALL! just the way you want it!
You know..... I get sick and fucking tired of you assholes thinking we Libertarians have no desire for any form of Government. That is absolutly not the truth. All we are asking is that if you want Fire Fighters and Police and Water Treatment Facilities and Garbage Pick up pay for it your own damn self. Don't ask someone in Montana to subsidize the services you want in Bum-Fuck Florida. Personally I could care less what services your City provides to you if thats what the people in your town want then by god get after it. What we (Libertarians) ask is that you pay for your own stuff and we'll pay for ours.
Oh and just for the record.. I looked and I can not find the authority for the Federal Government to provide fire services to yours or my community. The Federal Government has very limited powers and thats just the way we like it. Governing yourself means that you do so at your local level. If you want to hump goats in your trailerhouse in Florida then by god do it but don't ask the Federal Government to make Goat humping legal or manditory in all 50 states.....
Jesus H fucking Christ you people piss me off...
And yea there are probably spelling issues in the text...... deal with it.

1st off stupid.
Montana can not carry its own weight.
Florida has a TRILLION dollar economy..
so stick that back woods ignorance up your fat hairy broke back mountian boy friends ass.
speaking of ignorance...
Size of Florida's economy:
The economic output of the state of Florida was $744 billion in 2008. That figure is based on current dollars (nominal GDP), while the inflation adjusted GDP, real GDP, based on prices in the year 2000, was $603 billion in 2008, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
And this was based largely on real estate, which has only improved since 2008.

I was only pointing out our Drug trade numbers.. I didnt factor in trips to see Mickey!
so we can call it $1.5 Trillion then?
you have a cute picutre (even though you really are a 400 pound man, sitting around in streched out stained tighty whieties) so I will go back down to my origianl $1 trillion..
Look it is the poster child for Liberfairians! Eric Cantor!
Subject: Taking hostages in a hurricane?
Dear Friend,
The waters have just begun to recede in Vermont. New Jersey is still reeling. North Carolina is just starting to pick up the pieces. But Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is already taking Hurricane Irene's victims hostage.
Truly, Mr. Cantor has no shame. It's outrageous to take advantage of the urgent needs of hurricane survivors in order to advance his radical crusade to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. But that's exactly what one of the top Republicans in Congressional leadership is doing with his refusal to allocate money to disaster relief unless Congress first offsets that money with cuts to vital government programs.
I just signed a petition telling Eric Cantor to release the hostages and stop blocking funds for urgently needed disaster relief. You should sign the petition too. Click below to take action.

Tell @EricCantor to stop holding #Irene victims hostage and fully fund disaster relief now! http://bit.ly/o3NyZG @CREDOmobile

The only poster child for Libertarians is Ron Paul - Eric Who?
a) what fire department in this country is paid for with fed money instead of local prop taxes?
b) what libertarian can you name that doesn't complain about local prop taxes?
c) Montana is subsidized by 40 states that pay more and get less...even giving Montana a seat in the senate is an inappropriate hand-out
Now go pay for Ron Paul's retirement or switch out your teabags or something.

But yes I understand you're frustration. It is a terrible tragedy how the USA has been transformed into a shitty democracy from a first rate republic.
Dont know or care about her sexuality. But the "leaders" in the recent regime do play that passive aggresive game. Remember that speach by the head of the teachers union para "Its not about educating children ... its is because we have power... let them try to test us".
all democracies end up this way (shitty)
Do you ever get tired of encouraging others to vote from the rooftops while you sit on your butt?
And how the "terrorists" must enjoy all this yearly fuss and attention.
indeed. i do not give garbage any attention.
In the next 1 to 3 weeks, you will hear about collapsing municipalities budgets. If they don't get their (funding) money, high crime and fear will be spun on the TV. Furlough is not an option amongst the city worker's. Serve and Collect is the system breakdown. The rich people will fund thru new Obama tax hikes. The administration must maintain a 8.7 to 10.1% unemployment rate to maintain status quo.
The 9/11 fear after 10 years which drained budgets to sock newer taxes. winks

so, anyone else notice that ALL of those numbers are wrong?
well the good news is Krugman and Obama have both won Noble Prizes
Eveything in that chart is the result of inflation and the decision to not allow malinvestment corrections. Thus we have stealth deflation for all but the few at the top. Why people still argue about the level of power concentrated in central banking versus government is beyond me. Why do people vote? Why do people pretend? Why don't people become Americans instead of United State of America Americans?
You forgot one... Military Budget of the US ... 2001 - $300BB..... 2011 - $707BB.....Increase of 235%
This is not even factoring all the addtiional War on Terror initiatives and TSA.

Why do Americans never ask why the rest of the world hates the USA so much? If they did then perhaps the healing could begin instead of more wars.
It's because of our freedoms. Have you been asleep?
You either forgot to say "freedoms" or add a /sarc.
Majority of people OUTSIDE the US have more freedoms but they don't get told over and over again 24/7 365 days a year just how great their country is and how much "freedom" they get to enjoy.
You know when government needs to remind you that you're free, you're probably not. Check your pulse. Are you alive?
Ah but the wars are PROFITABLE for the defense industry and all entities associated with it; they are NOT about to give that lucre up easily.
I don't hate the USA. No, I just don't like the recent US-governments. I think they've done a horrible, horrible job in the past years. But that's a global phenomenon. German governments weren't better.
Sure, we all make our jokes from time to time. That's natural. I guess you've laughed about some German stereotypes (like the Angry German kid, Bretzel, Bratwurst, Kraut; stuff like that (hey I laughed about those Germans in The Big Lebowski) :) too. But in the end - I've enjoyed many things in my life that came from America and I am grateful about it.
There is a German phrase for America:
Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten (which is usually translated as land of opportunity; but it means: land of unlimited possibilities; a longing for freedom and liberty). I think you've given up too much liberty and I hope that the old America will be reborn. I would hope that the majority of Americans will not vote for Rick Perry. But that's not my choice to make. Would love to see Ron Paul.
Two conflicting thoughts in my head at once, stomach in revolt, I'd rather just forget the lies, wars and idiotic bankership.
9/11 changed everything alright. Carefully watch the videos of the buildings collapsing until you "get it" that buildings that tall cannot collapse into their own foot prints unless they are dropped by controlled demolition.
The official story is a LIE!
they didn't...they collapsed all over the plaza and beyond, moron
anyone who describes the evidence that day as not falling within their foot print deserves your accusation. Uh, a one hundred story building is not going to fall completely in the square foot boundary of its foundation. That said, its certainly not going to fall like it did without systemic destruction of its massive steel structure.
Came for the antisemitism and misogynist remarks. Stayed for the expert engineering demolitions testimony from amateurs.
The Comment earlier about "caring" about 9/11, if you lost a family member or friend you would care, i walked through the WTC that morning like i did every other morning, i walked outside my work after the 2nd tower fell to a cloud of dust and soot, a week later when i came back the ashes were still falling and continued to fall for months, so, lets look at the bigger picture here, this is about compassion, maybe you are not a compassionate person, but, the scumbags that were really behind this can burn in hell, the people that died that day MUST be remembered, as do the soldiers that have died since and the innocent civilians that have died because of these Wars, they did not deserve this. After all that, we can step aside and look at our liberties that was stolen that day, look at the grestest wealth transfer in history, and we can push for a new investigation of 9/11 to get the answers we deserve, but, as a American i will always respect this day, i lost friends and i will always remember...
the soldiers have died for nothing. they volunteered for the zionist mercenary new world order army. they fight for nothing and die for nothing , in wars based upon lies. where is the compassion you say? well after ten years of this bullshit. i am starting to wonder when will things ever change or are amerikan's just that damn stupid? if these paid idiots come here and try to do to us what they are doing to the afghans and the iraqis and the libyans etc, then one might conclude that all bets about compassion are off. they are not our army anymore. they never were really. it it time to just admit it. so, who in the hell are they fighting for?
