A Simple Question For Senator Schumer

Tyler Durden's picture

As many already know, earlier today Senator Schumer announced the cleverly named Ex-PATRIOT act, which seeks nothing short of exile for anyone who effectively declines their US citizenship for tax avoidance purposes. So far so good. We have, however, one simple question. In light of recent media reports of rampant abuse of various international tax loopholes by US corporations (recall the Double Irish with a Dutch Sandwich), but much more importantly, the glaring abuse of offshore tax shelters by hedge funds - organization such as Paulson & Co., RenTec, York Capital, etc., and financial institutions, such as Lazard, Blackstone, and Credit Suisse, can Senator Schumer please rep, warrant and guarantee that none of his corporate sponsors, i.e., his Top 100 Contributors, have ever engaged in any form of explicit or implicit tax avoidance, tax offshoring, and tax shelter. To facilitate his checklisting, we have presented his top 100 contributors below. Because if he can't, one may be left with the impression that his whole anti-tax tirade and legislation is, you know, hypocritical.

Who cares about any of it, Schumer's just pissed because Saverin didn't drop 10 Million in his super-pac before Saverin let the knob rock his crack on the way out the door.

My advice to Saverin, if you're not already in Singapore, leave immediately before they announce that leaving the country is the equivalent of extremism and detain you indefinitely.

One can afford to lose millions or billions, but if you find yourself locked up in the basement of the Lubyanka prison, then there will be no escape, just ask Khodorkovsky.

Really, after Dorgan retired, that effectively left only republiCONS, and those r-cons posing as faux crats --- simply offshore the US Senate.

Next, offshore the corrupt US Supreme Court, and then offshore the West Wing staff.

Really unnecessary to have any future elections....

The Oligarchs own nothing, but control everything through corporations and legal entities.   That is how they are taught in the Oligarchy's useless eater enslavement school.   It's easy to target a person if that person publicly owns much,   but if that same person secretly controlled hundreds of corps behind the scenes, you have no idea who to send the torch and pitchfork brigades after.

One of the keys of real change will be to get control and make truly transparent these coprate entities, the oligarchs use to enslave us.

Oh Yah and that is why they create another "people" abroad with a different nationality so that it can be taxed at the abroad rate. And wnile the income is kept abroad nobady can say anything about it. Since it is theoretically owned by the foreign "people" company.

The fact that the abroad people/company is controlled/owned by the USA company only complicates things and feeds lots of lawyers and accountants, chief among them, world tax efvasion experts Ernst and Yong.

A common practice is to license a major patent to an abroad "people", then pay tons of royalties to that abroad "people" and reduce your USA earnings to whatever level is convenient for you for tax minimization strategies. And this is only the tip of the iceberg...

Until next time,

Engineer

Like from '08/'09, right up until today. Madoff you say? He doesn't count: of course he'd STILL be at it if he hadn't ripped off the wrong people. I mean how BIG an asshole does a Jewish Mafia kingpin have to be to get prosecuted in THIS Just Us Dept. environment? I mean, Wow!

Well apparently, Bernie was that size A-hole.

con man / con artist, there is a distinction
i would like to elucidate. .. see above
a con man is a lobbyist, a con artist is a politician,
with few exceptions. those exceptions are what gives
cover and credibility to the show, the shit show. imo

This is an easy one.

Corporations = do whatever they want with their team of accountants and lawyers as long as the cash donation gravy train keeps chugging.  Most laws do not apply here and are rarely enforced - hence the "do not admit or deny wrongdoing" and pay a fine game whenever caught.

People = pond scum to be abused by the govt to make an example of them.  All laws apply here and are strictly enforced.  If there is no law that applies to your situation, one will be created in your honor.

I've been saying it for a decade or more now...when it comes time to put up a fence on the border, it will be to keep Americans in.

That time's-a-comin'

Time to consider that 2nd passport - hell, it may be too late.

The upside? More and more good people see the shitbags and their helpers for exactly who and what they are.

We see lots of that here lately: old lies crafted to protect the Victimizers from view and criticism not only don't cut it anymore, they make the lie tellers look like agenda-bound fools defending global  evil and the scumbags responsible for most of it. Traitors to America and Americans, trying to keep us in a mental prison via tired old bullshit. It's too late for that now. That's why the same shitbags are racing to lock us down before we finish waking up and knock them the f*ck out.

It's like half the people in America are brain-dead zombies, and the other half are wearing THEY LIVE glasses.

Good times!

Can't Senators be voted out of office?

Thu, 05/17/2012 - 18:07 | Link to Comment SmittyinLA

In theory yes, buy its never been done, recall of a Senator is not Constitutionally precluded which in theory means its possible.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxvii

Your state must have or pass a recall law, and you'd need a "friendly state" to allow such an action because a Senator would most certainly contest it.

Most state "gate keepers" wouldn't allow a Senator recall as many are appointed or endorsed by Senators themselves.

Facebook could in theory could organize such an operation.

In CA you have to circulate a proposed initiative, get a small number of signers (like 65), send the petition to the State AG, get the recall approved and you get 180 days to collect 550K voter signatures or so to get the recall on the ballot, then you need 51% of the voters for a recall.

If the state "likes" petition they put it on the ballot, if the state doesn't like your petition they look for excuses.

Now Senators and other elected federal officials would say "we're not subject to recall because of the 17th amendment", but they're mistaken.

The 17th amendment only grants elections of Senators via popular vote, it doesn't preclude the popular vote from removal, prior to the 17th amendment Senators were appointed and subject to removal, since the 17th was passed they think they're "UNREMOVABLE" and UNTOUCHABLE, they're not.

We have, however, one simple question. In light of recent media reports of rampant abuse of various international tax loopholes by US corporations (recall the Double Irish with a Dutch Sandwich), but much more importantly, the glaring abuse of offshore tax shelters by hedge funds - organization such as Paulson & Co., RenTec, York Capital, etc., and financial institutions, such as Lazard, Blackstone, and Credit Suisse, can Senator Schumer please rep, warrant and guarantee that none of his corporate sponsors, i.e., his Top 100 Contributors, have ever engaged in any form of explicit or implicit tax avoidance, tax offshoring, and tax shelter

Game, set, match.

What a grandstander this fucktard Schumer is (he also wants to shut down bitcoins).

Recently, a close friend of mine died.  He was the head of a charity and they, erroneously, gave money to a political campaign.  The New York Times wrote an article about it that started like this:  By DANNY HAKIM and JEREMY W. PETERS - Published: March 16, 2009 - ALBANY — For more than half a century, charities have been barred by federal law from making contributions to political campaigns.  The campaign of Senator John J. Flanagan, another Long Island Republican, received $500 in April 2007.  Well, the money was returned,  the CEO, being a man of the highest integrity, responded “All I can say is, ‘Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa,’ “  He immediately resigned and died a few months later, pretty much broken hearted as he had given decades of his life to the charity.  Later he was quoted as saying, :“We goofed.” -representatives of his group bought tickets to a campaign fund-raiser but “never thought of it as a political contribution.”

It's funny, this guy lost an awful lot over $500 given to a state senator.  How is taking money from NYU Langone Medical Center (one of Schumer's top 50 donors) not accepting money from a charity?  Schumer should take a walk.  The cover of their web page has 'how to donate' - they mean to their work, not Chuckies.  He's as slick as Weiner, he just hasn't been caught with his out ...yet.  How about the 1/2 dozen asbestos law firms and all the finance companies.  Scum is Scum - or it wouldn't be a US Senator.  What about Montefiore?  Why all law firms, fiance and life insurance companies, etc.

They are all such fuckers.  Self rigthoeus cocks.

Because he is a Democrat and on our ballot every 6 years or so (see "Clinton, Hillary")

NY has voted for Dems with exception of the Whiny Wop (Seneta Al)for a while because the 10 million in NYC are a mix of limo-libs or gov't check cashers in low-income housing.

Those who one apartment buildings, or might need construction work done for anywhere within 500% of cost get screwed because they're the actual 1%. The ones who work every day to make a living, and make a good living. They didn't do it designing a black box and they didn't do it by scamming a life on the government's tit.

1% in NY doesn't get us a Republican Senator or Republican vote for the pres. The only benefit is that we don't have to listen to campaign ads 24/7. The Chosen Ones (Obamas and Schumers) have already won NY. If not, they're losing everywhere,
