So, Europe Is Fixed Again!! Referendum Is 'Basically Dead'

Tyler Durden's picture

This is getting ridiculous. Citing a Socialist Party Official Dow Jones is reporting that "The Greek PM's Referendum Call is 'Basically Dead'!" Instant knee-jerk reaction is a 1% rally in ES and 75pip (UPDATE: 90pips!) rally in EURUSD.

The reaction is ebbing back now.

I don't think it matters of it is dead or not. The bailout will not work. The can has been kicked so many times there is nothing left.

This is not much of a can as it is a ball leaking air. Previously they could kick the "can" and it would take a few months before the can showed up at their feet again. Now, it seems like its a ball with no air in it. Each kick nothing more than a few feet effective :-) That is why the spread of critical decisions has shrunk from months to weeks, and now from weeks to days leading to major volatility.

All this is just sideshow.

Simply make sure you have your gold, lead, food, and water, and you will be fine.

I'm not sure even having those items in your possession (and I do too) will make us "fine". But we'll sure be better off than the rest of the slobs who spent the last of their paper dollars on an iPhone!

HFT Computer headline sniffing "circuit jerk" reaction.

The computers are always in the front of the line, buying at the lowest low, selling at the highest high.

There are still plenty of stocks / shares / fx/ TSYs that need to be sold.  Gotta keep the prices up as much as possible to unload.  The herd is abandoning ship.

Now we are talking about Greece again, as if that was the problem.  Success in distracting the herd...

How does a referendum matter? Either the people will abide the required austerity or they will remove the present government and install the communist regiem they so desire.

This shit is getting fucking unreal. What is even more funny is that the politicians are being exposed as the puppets they really are. This isn't about the Greek people, its about the banks and the rich elite. Oh well, history has proven time and time again that the peasants will rise and shit will hit the fan.

I don't understand why this should rumor has any effect.  Papa didn't want a referendum, but I think he is tired of the infighting and rioting.  He wanted the majority to be on his side, or he wanted someone else to take the pressure for a while.  Either way he wins.  The voice of the Greek people will be heard referendum or no.
