So Much For The G7

Tyler Durden's picture

Just as expected an hour ago...

  • JAPANESE FINANCE MINISTER AZUMI SAYS G7 WILL NOT ISSUE A JOINT STATEMENT
  • AZUMI: G7 DID NOT DISCUSS GREECE LEAVING THE EURO

But...

  • AZUMI: G7 AGREED WILL WORK TOGETHER TO DEAL WITH PROBLEMS IN SPAIN, GREECE - RTRS
  • AZUMI URGED EUROPE TO EASE CONCERNS OF FINANCIAL MARKETS
  • AZUMI: G7 AGREES TO COOPERATE TO RESOLVE SPAIN, GREECE PROBLEMS

Luckily, they did discuss the.... Yen?

  • AZUMI TOLD G7 JAPAN IS CONCERNED ABOUT RAPID YEN RISE

At least they agreed to agree to hold another press conferences... when XO is over 1000 bps. And so much for that. Next up on the disappointment ladder: the ECB.

I think the rate of exchange is 2 Japanese bukkake shots or 10 live Squid in a hairy beaver for a Cleveland Steamer and a French Swirl.

I could be wrong though, I don't probe too deeply into the day to day affairs of banks.  I'm happy regarding the macro level.  I leave those discussions for the philosophers otherwise.

Only problem is that Pandas fuck more often than the Japanese. Thirty years after the Japs move in the place will be a retirement village serviced by robots with tentacles. Plus they'll find a way to nuke themselves ... they always do.

Okay...so now I think we are hitting a real bottom...in market credibility...that market participants were waiting on a G7 conference call.  Good grief...how stupid and desperate is that?  And because the market so completely broken, I suppose now we rally.

Just pathetic.

Don't matter today or what ECB says. They will make it better than it really is and market should take off. I am expecting a bounce to around 1350, Could last a few weeks. We are oversold here and looks like we hot short trm bottom. Mind you in 4-6 months we will be significantly lower

how many meetings g7 are made in a year?

Is it useful? I guess for hotel and media are.

In a video conference can they fix eurozone problems?

The G7 can serve as mouthpieces for the ones who really matter, their central bankers. If the bankers themselves got together their words would be of more importance. Sadly that can't happen because bringing that many central bankers together would create a black hole of darkness that would consume the earth.

That clearly demonstrates, how quickly the G7 can resolve differences and commit to a unified action.

Ofcourse, it will not be a one day process, will need a series of meetings and delibrations but rest assured the problems in Spain will be dealt with.

Public is rioting and protesting, withdrawing funds from the bank and blaming the Eurocrats for their own mess. All these problems will be dealt with.

Nor Greece will be allowed to leave Euro. Even when a man is totally broke and sold all his posessions and family, he still has 2 functioning kidneys.

There is that whole tricky business of people dying of cancer and radiation sickness because people still have to show up and make it run.  But you are right, if the sandbox was shat in.  Shit in it some more.  Containment through disaster reassignment.

Doesn't change the nature of what nuclear energy does or what it's requirements are.  Keep in mind we are still only apes fucking around with the power of the universe.  What could possibly go wrong otherwise?

Hey guys, the Slogster is reporting that:

"The Eurozone’s April retail sales were down a full 1% compared to the March figure. The ‘expected’ fall was -0.1%. Year-on-year, the number predicted was -1%. The actual figure has come in at -2.5%"

This wont affect AAPL will it guys ?  I follow what all the smart hedge fund guys do and put all of my retirement nest egg in AAPL because their products are so neat.. but now I'm worried about this latest Euro data point.

These things seem to get resolved in one of two ways and it is never at a high profile meeting of so called leaders.

    1. Thousands of hours of work by people behind the scenes who agree upon the solution, give it to the bosses and they all sogn off.

    2. Some higher SINGULAR power dictates the solution and everyone falls in line.

There are no miracle solutions when ego and self interest are involved.
