Special Notice: Obama To Vacation On Martha's Vineyard Following A Job Well Done

Tyler Durden's picture

We bring you this special announcement courtesy of the White House which has informed that American plebs that following a fantastic job well done, in which the market is now back to pre-QE2 levels, unemployment is near record highs, delays for presidential press meetings compare with Newark airplane take offs, pessimism is at record highs, America's credit rating has just been downgraded, the country was nearly bankrupted, and sales of end of the world provisions are through the roof (not to mention ammunition), president Obama is taking a well-deserved vacation at Martha's Vineyard at the end of the month. From Bloomberg: "President Barack Obama will vacation with his family in Martha's Vineyard at the end of this month as he's done in years past, the White House said Wednesday, despite the weak economy and negotiations on the nation's debt problem. Press secretary Jay Carney defended Obama's plans to take a break even as he's pledged urgent action on those issues. "I don't think Americans out there would begrudge that notion that the president would spend some time with his family," Carney said." Spot on, Jay, spot on.

"Carney added that there's really no such thing as a presidential vacation since Obama will travel with his aides, receive regular briefings on national security and the economy and be able to return to Washington if necessary. "The presidency travels with you. He will be in constant communication," Carney said at the White House briefing. Last August, the president, Michelle Obama and their two daughters spent 10 days at a rented farm on the wealthy island retreat in Massachusetts.

Our advice: buy ELY stock: with the market about to implode, the president is sure to make at least one company's year.

Isn't the end of the month when they have to start negotiating to raise the debt ceiling yet again?  I can't wait for people to figure that out.  You think confidence is low now just wait.

I think he is a simpleton in a long line of simpletons, and the joke's on us if we think who we elect to the Oval Office can do anything other than what he is told to do by his Wall Street masters.  Bush, Clinton, they were all the same, regardless of party affiliation.  So damn the Kenyan, yes, but don't hold back cause the blame for this mess doesn't end there.

Maybe, the LSM should try to do their job and actually get his transcripts since they can't seem to actually find where he was born.

I can agree with you there. We had FDR/LBJ/Carter who were all peices of shit. I would give the Bush's a D/C- border line F

I would give Obama a G/H on the A-F rating scale.

However, white people had great presidents like Thomas Jefferson, Coolidge, Washington, Adams, etc.

Obama is awful, but he doesn't hold a candle to those sonsofbitches.

Wilson was awful too, but at least he meant well.  Amazing how stupid a college prof. can be!

Lincoln was the cause of about a million Americans' deaths,  just so his empire didn't get broken up when a third of the country hated him so much they tried to vote with their feet.  He didn't have the consent of the governed, so he had them shot.  Stalin did the same thing.

Lets single out George Washington. He along with the first Secretary of Treasury, and the first congress passed the Funding and Banking Acts. Many of them had bought depreciated debt certificates before the Act was passed allowing them to make huge profits. George Washington's Secretary of the Treasury Hamilton introduced the banking system based on debt which Washington went along with. Hamilton was a well known advocate of the banking interests and of course he was appointed by Washington.

Wilson has my vote, a few lengths ahead of old Abe, who actually did say some things about the banksters.  What he did "for the union" forever sealed the transition to empire.

Then come the usual B listers, Hoover, FDR, Bush, Clinton, etc.

That's highly arguable, as there was a s**t storm awaiting his entrance into the White House, but once there, he continued on the same disastrous Bush neocon, pro-Wall Street policies, which will hasten the destruction of what's left of America, while enriching the banksters.

What America truly needed was a Super-FDR, or someone prepared to deepsix predatory capitalism altogether, and institute some form of free enterprise, economic democracy.

Game over and we are truly screwed.

...there was a s**t storm awaiting his entrance into the White House, but once there, he continued on the same disastrous Bush neocon, pro-Wall Street policies...

I'm constantly amazed at how nobody seems to remember what Obama's last paying job was before "entering" the White House, as if he actually was descended from on high and not one of the, say, 100 or so people in some sort of elected body who actually had a hand in crafting said "neocon, pro-Wall Street" policies.

Just saying, Sarge - not trying to pick a fight or nothing, especially considering we totally agree on the "Game over and we are truly screwed" conclusion.

Worst in what? Corruption? Catering to the elite, bankers, wall street, MIC, corporations, ect.. Pick a category and I will show you his competion is stiff and he fallss short of being the worst. It would be easier to list the ones that did well because that would be a short list, and by well I mean did more good than bad. Politicians have always fallen short of the expectations of the common man because generally they don't represent them, but they do represent the wealthy elite.  It was corrupt from the very beginning.

I am not defending Obama I just don't think he is the worst president in U.S. history.

Two of the primary causes of poverty are the skewed income distribution in the U.S. and the high levels of unemployment.

While the income of the top 0.01% of households rose by 68% during 2002-2008, the incomes of the bottom 90% fell by 4% (note that the richest 10% of households in the U.S. take nearly 50% of the entire income in the economy). Indeed over the last few years we have witnessed one of the largest redistributions of income and wealth to the top in history."

What was Hawaii over the holidays and Ireland with his great gandmamma's family all about. how many other vacations...just in chicago for a champagne 50th dinner party...and I am sure a few bumps for the Hell of it. This guy has been on vacation since he arrived here from Indonesia. Christ, the last time I was able to get my family together three or four times in a year, I was a kid being dragged around. This whole thing isn't going to end well for this guy. I give him 90 days. Between the economy, the eligibility issue (Colin Powell being asked/interviewed to lead investigation) and any other problem they can hang on him, the powers that be appear to be tiring of this puppet. Find him ineligible to be POTUS and all laws are void and the political distraction will be so great, the economy will be a second thought. All the Obama haters will be vindicated and the blame game can go on. This guy is an asshole, no doubt. Our problems today have virtually nothing to do with this asshole. Blame him and we can put off dealing with the real issues through the next election cycle...Campaign finance reform and term limits bitches...

"I think it's under-estimated how much it matters to men like Obama that they get their families to the next level of society — how much it matters that they enter the aristocratic elite and bring their children with them.

Think of Bill Clinton — he comes from a back-water town, and through really hard work (and exceptional talent) gets his daughter into Sidwell Friends School, where the elite are prepared to be the elite. Next thing he knows, she marries well and works at a big-time hedge fund and venture capitalism shop. The family is secure; they'll be yachting with princes (so to speak) for a long time to come."

Surely the fact that Clinton was a Rhodes scholar was coincidental to him getting accepted into the club.

And that backwater where he came also did a brisk business of importing some Columbian Marching powder in the 80s.

Ask Gary Webb about it.  Wait, he committed suicide by shooting himself 2x with a revolver.

Well, I'd say the Clintons (now worth over $100 million - thanks to Billygoat's lobbying on behalf of the jobs-offshoring industry) have leveraged those presidential contacts quite well, but marrying the son of a convicted felon (for financial fraud while @ Goldman Sachs, if I recall correctly) is pretty much par for that family!

Thus, by scrapping plans for nuclear weapons "modernization" and for national missile defense—programs that are both useless and provocative—the United States would save $271 billion (well over a quarter of a trillion dollars) in the next ten years. Whether used to balance the budget or to fund programs for jobs, healthcare, education, and the environment, this money would go a long way toward resolving some of the nation's current problems.

Income and wealth inequality in the U.S. is at an all-time high – the richest 10 percent control nearly 75 percent of U.S. wealth, with the richest 1 percent accounting for 35 percent. In contrast, the bottom 90 percent control barely 27 percent of the nation's wealth (note: these data reflect conditions prior to the Great Recession that began in 2008, the most recent available). Meanwhile, several states have been actively engaged in union-busting campaigns—most notably Wisconsin and Ohio—to strip the collective bargaining rights of public employees. (union growth shows a DIRECTcorellation to middleclass income growth AND corporate profits).

Hey, I've been watching him for years.  I'm not a committed viewer, but if the set is on at that time of day I might watch him.  I don't have to ask myself whether it will be worth my time.  He's been grinding against the great frauds for the last three years.  He's bluntly confronted everybody who has passed before him.  He's been pretty clear.

Lately, though, he's been getting tired of all the bullshit.  It was a certain kind of sweat that you know when you see it.  Having seen him build up to it over a period of years and then getting an abridged version of it all in the lead up to this particular rant yesterday made it dumbfounding to witness.

But, not on-air for his own show today, we have to ask: Where In The World Is Dylan Ratigan?

We really should be helping to look out for this guy, imo.
