Spiegel Calls It: Akropolis Adieu!

Tyler Durden's picture

It took Europe two years to grasp the inevitable, and go from...

to...

And, sadly, it has become so obvious, even Nobel prize winners get it.

Dow Jones Crash | A Technical Prediction

Stocks and Markets rise and fall in discernible patterns motivated by our collective emotions. These emotional patterns remain present in the markets despite Government manipulation through programs such as Currency Swap agreements with the EBC, Quantitative easing programs, and other monetary injections of capital into markets that are simply too numerous to catalog for the purpose of this article. These injections of capital will produce a overall positive trend in the markets, yet contained within the trend are periods of volatile downside risk.

OT, There is a classic play going on in the Indian Silver market that is just crazy. Rupee is being severely depressed. I was there yesterday. no one is buying bullion right now. Exchange adjusted, Silver in the rupee is still strong because the rupee is tumbling. Nasty muffers.

But again and again, it's the EU that is supposed to survive all this, ne? The great experiment? Or will the New World hold out longer. It's not as if, beyond it's MIC might, the US/USD is good for anything. Oh, Facehook and the billion dollar instagram, I almost forgot.

And since NATO=EU+US+a bunch of now Global observer wannabes (just like the Euro is, it's all fractal)...nope, I do not see the Eurozone collapsing.

As a matter of fact, the Eurozone is so much more ready to be police-stated, smaller, gun-less except the Swiss, tech and mobile phone addicted, camera-covered, socialist and govermnment teat addicted, majority blue-collar population, football addled, hooliganism induced violence desensitized (London and Paris "feel" like violent cities, simmering, always simmering, rude muffers everywhere...). And drunk a lot. Honest readers know this is not hyperbole, but a reality.

Plus, one look at Eurozone TV and you know that everyone's mind has been guttered. Their versions of BigBro like reality shows are wild, crazy, out there.

Dogging "took off" in England, spread through the Eurozone like wild-fire.... enough said.

That's my take. EU to go cashless and police-statish first, with some gratuitous Arab violence in paris's Mo-slim quarters. But stay as the EU.

Or global bust, war etc. cleans the slate all around.

ORI, both the EuroZone and the EU are more diverse than that. And it's a question of public spaces.

Police stated? In theory yes, in the countries with Napoleonic Code the police has the right to check on your identity in public spaces, which in practice forces you to carry an ID. In practice no, because after checking your ID the police has to have some serious complaint against you if they want more. What the police can now do in the US is much, much worse. I would not like to exchange systems.

Shocking News you might want to digest: National ID means freedom, here. Yes, it's counterintuitive.

Camera-covered? In theory yes, in practice 50% of all police cameras are in London, the rest is mostly in the capitals.

Socialist? How do you define socialist, by deficit spending compared to GDP or tax income? Or by number of people who get SNAP cards equivalents? I maintain that socialist is quantifiable. How much?

Gun controls? It's a myth. You can buy guns everywhere - you just have to fake some interest for hunting or sport shooting. It's only painful to take them across borders, for example by plane. The last major weapons control law in the strictest country (Italy) limited the number of rifles to 12 per person. How many weapons can you carry at the same time? Italy has nearly one million licenced hunters. One in sixty.

Hooliganism? It's a very, very local issue. Don't get me started on this or TV.

London and Paris "feel" like violent cities? How about real crime statistics instead of "feelings"? There is a different conception of public spaces here. And much more public space to begin with. Which brings me to

Dogging? LOL - do you really feel threathened by youngsters doing it in dark alleys or cars? It's not new at all, btw. I call it Liberty. Did you not just complain about police states? Who are they hurting? I have very fond memories of doing it with American or Canadian girls who really wondered why the police did not show up or why we did not get arrested if they passed by... {edit: the "new" "dogging" seems to involve a degree of "watch us while we do it" - this is the relatively "new" part}

Cashless? Please, while American ZH commenters of libertarian attitudes are all about theoretical "black markets" - here some local economies are nearly based on cash alone and no receipts. No, not only drugs, everything from plumbers to gardeners to loan sharks to vegetables to party services to household appliances to gold/silver...

Germany in full blown financial collapse.  Insolvent Germany cant finish building new Berlin airport:

http://www.thelocal.de/national/20120513-42511.html

Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit was laughed down while addressing crowds visiting Berlin’s new international airport, which has been hit by catastrophic, embarrassing delays and, it emerged this weekend, is only half finished.

The open day was supposed to take place a few weeks before the grand opening, but last week officials admitted they were going to miss the widely advertised scheduled opening on June 3.

Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit drew scornful laughter when he told crowds on Saturday that despite the disastrous delay, visitors could see how far the airport had come along and that it was a “grandiose creation.”

I can attest to your opinion of my writing, because I understand your narrative:  You view any other with opposing views as like a debutante entering into a society; full of sophmoracy and with no wherewithal concerning direct understanding of narrative - a naivete, if you will.  Yet your ad hominem attack discredits your opinion a priori - your idea is based on your own slanted view.

It may be true that along the way I have changed mindset from Europe's appreciation of its problems to disbelief that it may use policy proven wrong (during the '30s) to try and remedy the said all to real problems of credit, liquidity, and faith in their system - this, concerning Europe's affinity for flip-flopping for political points - but in no way was my viewpoint changed:  Europe needs to end this ostentatious austerity, and form an economic union unbound of political rhetoric.  What matters now is that Europe, primarily Germany, understands the ramificacions of ending their status quo.  In the above (posted by Tyler Durden), I merely point out what could happen if these measures are not made.

European Integration has always been a political dream, without the simultaneous solution of economic realities evident in all EU countries. The EU/English/American financial elite pushed ahead with it in the belief that Central banking would provide the necessary foundation for stability.

As such nothing has changed. The Financial powers are as committed as ever,  to the present course of action even if it takes Europe over a cliff. There is no going back unless the German electorate demands a course change.

Well now that even the Economist is only months behind the info on ZH, it can't be long until there is a return to the retail sector (or but it is so....over bought) of the idea of gold and silver as the only real assets. Wait until the NYT comes out for the idea of AU before the collapse of fiat.

Yes there will be the digitsl currency idea floated as a last resort by the "elite" that have refused to acknowledge that fiat is dying, but they do so while buying Au thenselves ( of course THEY ave to be in before the masses).

The collapse of Europe and the final realization that AAPL, MSFT and all the other can't misses...start missing.
