Not to start a flame-fest, but there actually IS a 'speed of gravity', but it's used incorrectly in the context above.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_gravity

I believe he/she was referring to gravitational acceleration which is around 9.78 to 9.82 m/s2 depending on latitude.

For the record, I'd make nice with 'google' before throwing the "fucking" and the "tool" together in the same sentence, lest others on the board might infer that you were talking about yourself.

If you are suggesting that Brainiac above was referencing theoretical maxima of wave/particle quantum mechanics,  then you may have a point.

However, I think that Brainiac was referring to the acceleration in velocity of a collapsing structure.

Indeed, he's in all likelihood the munger who "proved" the conspiracy by igniting newspaper in a chicken-wire cage.  Fucking tool.

I'll defer to you smart guys, but doesn't the speed of gravity refer to the relationship between the gravity of different bodies such as the earth, moon, sun, pulsars, black holes, electrons, etc?

Isn't the gravitational pull of the earth the same same everywhere on the earth for an object of a constant mass? Wouldn't the escape velocity required for that mass to free itself from the earth's gravity be the same everywhere?

Victor Sen Yung was the fifth man on the Ponderosa-Hop Sing, the cook. The character was generally used in comic bits, often involving the small cook chasing Hoss out of his kitchen for stealing food. There were, however, a few episodes throughout the series that dealt with anti-Chinese prejudice in the West of the late 1800's. Sen Yung had a huge number of acting jobs, both before and during his years on Bonanza. In the 1940's, he was best known as Charlie Chan's Number Two Son, in the Sidney Toler Charlie Chan films. He was a regular in Father Knows Best, and had roles in many TV shows and movies. Sen Yung loved cooking, and ironically died from exposure to a gas leak in his Hollywood tenament apartment in 1980. He was 65 years old. Pernell Roberts presented his eulogy at his former cook's services that year.

Yen Cross... I am anglo if race matters to you?

I think "the speed of gravity" implies the fact of terminal velocity and is not really a debatable point.

The posters point was,Steel buildings do not drop that fast without  the help of explosives and metal melting thermite stuff.

But you have already made your mind up,so the sworn testimony of THOUSANDS of Architects,Structural engineers, pilots, firemen, cop's,workers in the buildings,ETC will carry no weight with you?

Meaningless garbage from drug addled professionals, right?

Your government is all cheery and loving, they are like Jimminy Cricket and Lassie and they do neat shit all day long, no worries for you,

Do not let these FACTS disturb your sleep, just crazy talk from Tea bagging, foil hat people, have a nice day, hell! have three nice days you fucking Mongoloid.

Ahh!  Some intelligent discourse, finally!

I had forgotten all about the sworn testimony of those hundreds of explosives experts and labourers who placed explosives and detonators in every second floor of both towers, whilst they were being utilised by thousands of office workers.

"Hey dude, what's that shit you are sticking behind that pillar?  What are the wires for?"

I had forgotten that all of those people had given evidence that the Jooos ordered them to place these explosives, so that Silverstein could make a profit, and Bush had his reason to press the Big Red Button.

Go back to your teabagging, retard.

Generally, I find that engaging in debate with Truthers is just like arguing with Global Warmers or Peak Oilers.

None of you will man up and fight for your views.

You have been conditioned by your education, and you don't even realise it!

Pussies, all of you!

Spdrdr... "I will be your Huckleberry" Doc Holiday.

Are you old enough to be a good read of people? Have you watched the news clip of Bush the morning Andy Card told him the country was under attack?

Please watch it.. easy to find online. Watch GW as Andy leans in. Look at his eyes. Watch what he does afterwards.

Once you do... put yourself in his shoes. Commander-in-Chief, President. Would you do what he did for the next 5 minutes?

This was the beginning of understanding for me... will it be for you?

I will be happy to defend my views and consider yours. We will be the wiser for it.

Long version, watch this one all the way through with you being him -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na600UB-bG0&feature=related

Y-Y, Bush was in a class-room full of pre-schoolers.  He is being televised, he is being filmed.

He is told by one of his security people that the nation is under attack.  He is told that he must be taken to safety.  He is told that his transport will be cleared and available to whisk him away in five minutes.

He does not want to scare the children  He is scared himself.

What the fuck would your eyes look like at that time?

This is the basis of your "understanding"?

I feel sorry for your paranoid psychosis.

Security people.... nope Andy Card was Chief of Staff.

Bush before entering the classroom, Card recounted "He went to his run and came back and we had our intelligence briefing and loaded into limousines and went over to the school. There was a buzz as we were getting to the school. Some people said, “Anybody hear about the plane crash in New York City?” but still not a lot of information. And the president, the principal of the school and I were standing at the door when one of the staffers for the National Security Council came up and said, “Sir, it appears there’s been a small twin-engine plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers in New York City.” And the reaction, kind of unspoken, was “Oh, it’s a horrible accident. The pilot must have had a heart attack or something.” And the principal then opened the door of the classroom and escorted the president in and the door shut."

After Card learned of a 2nd plane he recounted "I opened the door to the classroom and the press pool was gathered at the back of the classroom. I walked up to the president and leaned over and whispered into his right ear: “A second plane” — I was very very succinct, very purposeful with my diction — “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack.” And I stood back from the president so that he couldn’t ask me a question and then I inched my way back to the door. I was all business. I was all business."

You state "He is told that he must be taken to safety.  He is told that his transport will be cleared and available to whisk him away in five minutes." Nope your facts are wrong according to Andy Card, Chief of Staff, see his statement above. Easy to assume things... huh?

Scare the children???? Is that what you do when faced with a challenge? Shit no, man up. The Commander in Chief and President sat idle.

My eyes would be focused on priorities I was elected to maintain and the oath I swore to. I would have reacted entirely differently, as most leaders would.

His actions in my opinion were unusual. He was either disfunctional or had pre-knowledge to stand down. You say "paranoid psychosis" which means a break with reality that includes extreme fear and anxiety associated with delusions.

The basis of my understanding is that Bush acted abnormally for his position and situation.

Wikipedia

"According to a biography by Galileo's pupil Vincenzo Viviani, in 1589 the Italian scientist Galileo had dropped two balls of different masses from the Leaning Tower of Pisa to demonstrate that their time of descent was independent of their mass.[1]. Via this method, he supposedly discovered that the objects fell at the same acceleration, proving his prediction true, while at the same time proving Aristotle's theory of gravity (which states that objects fall at speed relative to their mass) false. At the time when Viviani asserts that the experiment took place, Galileo had not yet formulated the final version of his law of free fall. He had, however, formulated an earlier version which predicted that bodies of the same material falling through the same medium would fall at the same speed [2] This was contrary to what Aristotle had taught: that heavy objects fall faster than lighter ones, in direct proportion to weight."
