TMZ Posts First Picture Of Steve Jobs After Resignation
Just released from TMZ. Our thoughts are with Steve.
And for anyone who is still unfamiliar with the man behind the legend, read the following Playboy interview with Jobs from 1985: the visionary brilliance oozes with every word he utters. Yet the one comment our government may want to heed very carefully is the following brilliant encapsulation of our economic quandary: "I'm convinced that to give away a dollar effectively is harder than to make a dollar." And therein lies the rub.

Good point, for me the paid came with the reaction to Prednisone, ouch, megadoses suck
Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.
@ gunsmoke Then you should be happy when government appointed death panels make those decisions for people. You know, when they think a person has put up enough of a fight, lived a full enough life, when they decide that the person's life is of such low quality that the quantity is too much. For those who trust in the medical establishment, this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise, since modern slice and burn *medicine* doesn't heal people it kills people. When they tell you there's nothing else they can do, that you're a goner, is when you have your best last chance of survival.
Philippians 1:23
I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far...
Thats how I roll.
Steve, I hope you do as well.
That sounds boring. What the hell are you going to do then? Wait for exaclty "1000 years" for a massive war with swords, spears, and a multi headed dragon?
Kind of like the 72 Virgins concept, myself, but then again, if I had to spend eternity at my current age, that opportunity would quickly become a chore.
On a serious note, it has already been said more elegantly than I can, but thank you, Steve.....for a long list of things.
Regardless of outcome, perhaps there is some solace he can take knowing that his inventions, his vision, lays the building blocks for as yet unimagined new breakthroughs in medicine, as well virtually every field that touches humanity.
Peace, 'bro. You are in my prayers.
Many of us think we would rather be gone than look like Jobs but my brother who is an Internist says most of us hang on to the bitter end. The will to survive is strong.
I can recommend these two talks from the TED Conference and this URL to the 5 Wishes.

the black dress, just doesn't do his figure justice. I'm thinking a two tone plaid, with a matching purse, and some open toed wedges.
Lol, I thought it was Norman Bates in his mother's dress.
thanks steve
Proof you cant eat IPAD
Too soon.
though i lol'd!
I wish I didn't find that quite so funny. Totally inappropriate, but I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Proof that this site is a bad influence on me.
Me too. Of course if you're pale, wearing black is a bad idea. Not to mention when you have spindly legs, you should just go for the baggy Levi's.
My second thought was "THIS guy is going to be the Chairman of the Board?". If he can't even walk with someone helping him, how's he going to even conduct high level design and "vision" meetings.
Last classless thought: when he dies, are they going to put him on display like Lenin?
I loled so hard!
Just know this Steve.....
You truly made the PC personal.
Bill Gates only made CTRL ALT DEL famous and gave us a 1000 reasons to hate the color blue.
God Bless and get well.
Sadly, there is no getting well from that.
According to statist science, and statist-licensed doctors, yes.
There are LOADS of alternative cures that are proven and attacked by the FDA because they threaten the government-pharma-complex.
After switching to Linux I could never understand why I put up with Windows and it's crap for so long.
What a Peace of Shit Operating System.
After wasting months struggling with Linux I realized that the excessive time investment required is a feature, not a bug. Linux Flavorboys like their 'community' and want Linux to be time consuming to use. So those apt-get updates that reduce your OS to a bashell are intentional.
The time wasted tinkering with Linux, like on an old British sports car, is greater than time wasted on Wxx virus checks and paying for software to clean your Windows PC.
Thus the 1.0% market penetration of Linux.
Yeah, servers are mostly Linux. Run by IT pros. 99% of people are not IT pros...
enjoy your regular windows updates. I'm a +50 latecomer to computers, and I installed linux, and have been using it for over 4 years, with no problems. my netbook has windows xp, and I tolerate it, because you can't easily find a new computer nowadays, that hasn't succumbed to the ms monopoly.
For all you who junked me, I didn't come up with the CTRL ALT DEL quip.....David Bradley, one of the original designers of the IBM PC did
Take a look....

As far as the blue screen of death quote....that's mine. As someone who still has his Windows v1.0 on 5 1/4" floppy disks....I know of which I speak.
If there was one song for Steve it would be Rush's "Mission"
Hold your fire
Keep it burning bright
Hold the flame 'til the dream ignites
A spirit with a vision is a dream
With a mission
I hear their passionate music
Read the words that touch my heart
I gaze at their feverish pictures
The secrets that set them apart
When I feel the powerful visions
Their fire has made alive
I wish I had that instinct
I wish I had that drive
Spirits fly on dangerous missions
Imaginations on fire
Focused high on soaring ambitions
Consumed in a single desire
In the grip of a nameless possession
A slave to the drive of obsession
A spirit with a vision is a dream
With a mission
I watch their images flicker
Bringing light to a lifeless screen
I walk through their beautiful buildings
And I wish I had their dreams
But dreams don't need to have motion
To keep their spark alive
Obsession has to have action
Pride turns on the drive
It's cold comfort
To the ones without it
To know how they struggled
How they suffered about it
If their lives were exotic and strange
They would likely have gladly exchanged them
For something a little more plain
Maybe something a little more sane
We each pay a fabulous price
For our visions of paradise
But a spirit with a vision is a dream
With a mission

Amen, brother. Every member of Rush is a genius.
But we people with Macs have force quits and kernel panics.
True.
But as an owner of a PC since the IBM XT, currently with 3 IBM Thnkpads, an IBM server, a Dell desktop, a homemade PC and 2 Macs, I have a lot more problems with ANY ONE WinPC than I do with both of my Macs combined.
Hell, even including the Macbook Pro and the PowerMac I use at work.
All the best Mr. Jobs.
Sincerely,
Archimedes
peace sign to the chest, RESPECT, Steve.
Steve jobs is a personal hero of mine. Visionary, entrepreneur, billionaire, college drop out.
:\ a life well lived, for sure... he's changed the world forever and for that, I think we all thank him.
Damn... but at least everybody will remember the guy for being one of the greatest visionaires of the 21th century and the man who made the biggest company in the world from a company that almost went bust a decade ago.
he looks like he got AIDS
Well he has cancer. They often produce similar results.
I think that you would be more correct if you had stated that the treatments do.

pods
...but he'll still be on the Board of Directors.
Hate to see this happen to anyone.
On a long enough timeline...
Godspeed Steve.
Thanks for Pixar
to the last breath, to the last fragile step, a man as transparent and accessible as his inimitable creations. Breathtakingly poignant.
Sad to see.
iSod
It's healthy to laugh.
Amazing what you can do with photoshop.
Godspeed, Mr. Jobs.
We'll see you on the other side.
Thanks for the ride, Steve. it has been a great trip.
Is there anybody that doesn't have a good memory in their life that regards Apple, whether it is from the Apple IIe through the iPad? I still remember seeing the first Apple in the last 70s and playing Brickout on it. That company has touched a lot of lives in a very positive way. Can you say the same about Goldman Sachs or Citibank?
No, no I can not. Jobs created something of value, Banksters have created misery.
I think it was called "Snakebite" on the Apple IIe in elementary school.

Recover Steve!
past the rubicon, like the monetary system
Anyone else thinking that should be Keith Richards instead? Just does not seem quite fair to me.
After 10 years, Rolling Stone mag took Keith off the list of 10 people most likely to die in the next year.....
A beautiful mind, so very sorry about the rest...
Truly sad.
pods
He doesn't have long to live. Too bad. Great innovator.
And to think .. the camera adds 20 lbs.
Good luck Steve. Wish you good health.
Thanks for this clear cut hommage to Steve Jobs.
It's an odd picture. What is that blue glow on their shoes?
it looks like the photo was taken through a car window
http://www.woz.org/
Waz is the Brains.
The CFO structured the proactive business model.
why all the love for Jobs?
I can answer that question. I just know I don't like it when one company dominates a market. First puter was a Commodore 65, then a Gateway (PC), then an Apple. Now I'm going back to the PC, just don't know who's just yet.
It's a Commodore 64. Or 128.
YES; 64 65 was a typo
VIC-20?
It's a Commodore 64. Or 128.
The First consumer PC was the Altair back in 1975, Then the Apple ][ in 1977 (there was an Apple 1 but only about 200 were made). Apple came out the the PC with the first Monitor display and keyboard. The Altair input was a set of toggle switches and LEDs for output. It was also the First consumer PC with graphics.
Before the Commodore 64, was the Commodore Pet. and the RadioShack/Tandy TRS-80. While these both had monitors and keyboards, neigther support graphics.
Woz was the Techie, and Steve Jobs was the Salesman that pitched the Apple. Woz was purely a Apple 2 Engineer. The Lisa\Mac was a project started by Steve Job and hired a group of engineers to work on it. Woz was occupied with the Apple 2 and wasn't really involved with the Lisa/Mac.
The IBM PC didn't come about until 1981, and Gateway much later than that. Gateways were IBM PC clones.
Hey JW, I guess you and I are the only NON-SHEEP in this thread.
The mindless fawning over this consummate asshole (ask some of the people he worked with) is absolutely SICKENING!
So, he made your little digital toys have smooth edges and "cool" design. So what? He was also instrumental in suppressing innovation over the whole computer industry for decades. He didn't invent ANYTHING. And his products are made by suicidal slave laborers in China. You fucking fools.
perhaps this post was not necessary ... he has retired and he probably deserve some privacy.
the chairman of the board at APPL the most over bought / sold company in the history of mankind deserves what from fight club?
shut the fuck up!
At this time in everyone's life, they deserve privacy. That includes you and me.
in life there is a time to be greedy and time to be decent.
His creativity and foresight had opened up many minds in this world. He is one heck of a leader.
He will always be a legend in the silicon Valley Era !!
I salute him. I just hope that he doesn't suffer and he will go easy.
I bet the sheeple expressed the same sentiments about Hitler too. Do you fawn and slobber over Bill Gates or Larry Ellison too? Far too many users fail to understand that they have been USED.
Why the hate? Jobs made money for his stockholders by building products that people enjoy. What more could we ask for? I have Apple stock and Apple products, I have been very satisfied with both, I don't feel"used" at all. Only a complete asshole would compare Steve Jobs to Hitler, get a life.
Peace be with you, Steve Jobs. God Bless.
His only blessing comes when he repents of his sins and accepts Christ if not he will be in the Firey Lake. That Goes for all of us, we need to repent of our sins and accept Christ: time is short.
Much negative could be said about this man as many money grubbers have come before him and all Rich men and Rulers have difficulty making it into the Kingdom of Heaven because of their Love of Money. I Pray He Repents and Accepts Christ beyond that there is nothing else that can be done for him.
lump in throat. hope he can recover.
He went downhill fast. Certainly hope the end comes peacefully for him. There is no recovery with that form of cancer unfortunately.
Steve Jobs= EVIL BOOMER.
Wrong.
Hard working, innovative entrepeneur.
Great man, sorry he's so sick.
I see Jobs as a Andrew Carnage, who did not live long enough to do good with all that money.
I always saw Gates and Jobs as the George Eastman of their generation. Eastman took the camera away from esoteric specialists and put it into the hands of everybody, just as they did with computers.
Carnegie. Jobs, unlike Gates, never expressed even a token interest in philanthropy. So just forget that pious notion.
He was a selfish egomaniac from the moment he drew breath. Denied paternity of his daughter. Go look it up.
"She briefly raised their daughter on welfare when Jobs denied paternity, claiming that he was sterile; he later acknowledged paternity. ..."
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Steve_Jobs
We can all be thankful for all the philantropy of Carnegie. In fact, the reason why Jobs was so thin was a result of the allopathic medical model that Carnegie helped create.
Check the cancer lecture by Griffin above.

Stay tuned asswipe, I pretty sure he won't be taking it all with him.
Except when he was treating his employees like shit fuck slaves..
Creation, perseverance, hard working work-a-holic, visionary and a man who single handedly reversed the fortunes of a company on the brink of bankruptcy on more than one occasion. He changed the world and the only word I can come up with when seeing this photo is humbled and confirmation that money is irrelevant especially when acquired through fraudulent methods. Yet here is a man who symbolizes what made our nation great and even after he shuffles of this mortal coil he will remain immortal.
Thanks Legend.
Micro Soft reversed Apples Luck! NOT!! Steve Jobs!
That is like saying AMD is in business becuase of Managment! when it is INTEL who keeps AMD in Business!
its called monopoly protection.. look at who owns what.
Sad to read this, John. It's like reading some glowing eulogy to Hank Paulson, great benefactor of the American financial system. One of the GODS of the industry.
Seriously, man, get a fucking clue!
Sorry Steve.
Maybe your 2.0 (your clones) will live to see the 22nd century.
Thanks for kicking off humankind's next awesome century.
A real force of nature.
A great American. This country needs Steve Jobs now more than ever. A visionary who had the balls to put his mind and his cash on the line to make the very best.
The rest of the country -- bullshit financial "innovation," which Wall Street likes to call "technology." All of it horseshit paper trading where dollars are moved around and fat-assed bankers earn a fee with every circular transfer.
OK, Sequitur, name ONE thing Jobs invented. ONE. Or STFU about his "innovation", unless you count unprecedented hype and brainwashing as such.
actually one thing i do know is that he never really believed in Apple after taking it over and really didn't partake in most of the initial ramp up. It was one of the more interesting of the Wall Street Journal articles i read years back about "the recovery." Now here's a shout out to all you Apps folks from disabledvet. You give what you give because you are children and no love is truer than young love. Be at peace as well.
TD, Out of deceny and respect for privacy, is it really necessary to post these pictures of Mr. Jobs? Recommend you stick with your normal track record of targeting those who legitimately deserve it. Sincerely,
The photo is not offensive. It is the reality he faces -- it is the reality we all will face one day.
Isn't the mass GROVELLING before a greedy industry monopolist enough for you? Are His pictures SACRED now!?
Isn't there some Marxist site where your drivel will be more appreciated?
TD, Out of deceny and respect for privacy, is it really necessary to post these pictures of Mr. Jobs? Recommend you stick with your normal track record of targeting those who legitimately deserve it. Sincerely,
I tend to agree. We need to be respectful and show a moral high ground. Otherwise we are just the same as the rest.
It is like torture to see him get weaker as time go on.
I agree. Not necessary to post TMZ shit on ZH.
Take the high ground Tyler and remove the pics.
Steve Jobs, a legend in own time.
I agree the photos are in bad taste even if the sentiments expressed are sincere. These photos, like it or not, make him a spectacle to be oggled and judged. Mr. Jobs deserves privacy - not pity.
that is heartbreaking.
This is what we all have to look forward to, since we've been Fukushima-ed.
I'm not kidding either. In fact, our's could be more acute if we swallow a hot particle and our intestines start to liqufy and bleed out of our ass.
Fun stuff.
dont tell the truth the idiots will cry!
he's a buddhist...he'll be back
Awesome. First good laugh in this whole thread.
Photo shoped. Look at the left arm above the hand.
I'm with you. Fake. That's a lot of facial hair to grow in two days? And why does his Skirt?? have such straight edges?? Also who stands like that two guys with feet perfectly together next to a curb? Like Job's waits at a curb for anyone.
dammit you may be right...wouldn't put it past tmz...fuckers
edit: ok...i'm with you...i call bullshit
Yep. Too straight. Just took it apart in Photoshop. Hair is wrong as well. Baground layer was "partially" locked, indicating locked adjustment layers in a flattenned image.
That is NOT Steve Jobs,
Don't get me wrong, I do hate it for him. My wife died of breast cancer just over 5 years ago, horribly, on her fucking birthday just to top it off. May 1,
sorry to hear that...but it seems someone is trying to capitalize on tragedy here...
TMZ are a bunch of asswipes.
Sorry to hear about Your Wife.. God Bless Her and You too Bro!
Who said fight club is always mean? not always..
as for the photo shop bullshit.. that is foul..
I HATE Jobs! but it is not kool to get my hopes up!
I'd guess that this is photoshopped. I took the image into photoshop and adjusted the brightness levels. I found image artifacts around the legs, as if they were purposely made to appear thinner. The image resolution is lousy as a whole.
This was probably originally an image of an elderly man and his wife...
Yes, definitely. Also, the shadows are wrong you can tell from the posted image. Two light sources, one of the sun almost directly overhead, another coming from the left about 1 o'clock which screws up the shadows. Other "guys" hand around him is completely false.
Looks like a cell phone pic with that res.
Fucking assholes.
I watched my beloved Uncle waste away from pancreatic cancer. It is a horrible way to go. My thoughts are with Jobs and his family, and he did one hell of a job to hang in there at Apple as long as he did.
Sad, but many "regular" peeps die from this shit. In the end, he is just like everyone else.
Just imagine how many balls he cut off in his career. He wasn't the pope or something.
Notify me when someone from jersy shoes is sick. LIke I would still give a flying fuck.
ZH = EVIL
PICTURE = PHOTOSHOP LIE
Would love to see a higher resolution of version this picture, some areas really do look edited. If you zoom in close on the face, there is a defined vertical band on right forehead and inconsistencies along right hairline. The neckline along shirt also looks like it was blurred together. It may just be the low res picture, but very possibly some bad photoshop work.
Yeah, 1 in 3 americans die of cancer. Not exactly unusual.
I suspect that way less than 1 in 3 americans were such an asshole as Steve Jobs though. No one who knew him liked him much. Perfectionist. Very hard working. Rude. Cheated his closest associates. God complex.
Why do the sheep love him? Because they bought shiny toys from him, and watched his TV ads, although he shipped their jobs abroad to chinese slaves. Poor sheep.
He was such a prick, but no one as bright and as much of an innovator as he is, deserves go go out in on his knees.
disheartening to see, but he's not the first I've seen.
who is the man beside him? just asking, anyone know?
Best Wishes my friend, may you find tranquility
Best Wishes my friend, may you find tranquility
If they survive 20-30 more years, homo sapien will conquer biological death.
Not in time for Steve Jobs, unfortunately.
That closing paragraph is a heart-breaker.
Thank God for Steve Jobs. Were there no alternative to MS, I would've killed myself long ago. Happier trails SJ!
seriously! cried laughing!!
I owe you a Fantastic Funny for that!!
Thanks for the Laugh! I needed it!
No Hair loss, so there's no Chemo involved.
Regardless of what his ailment is, this isn't exactly a storybook ending to his life.
To be tasked with "getting affairs in order" at his age is simply disheartening to see. However, this is a man who accomplished more than perhaps many world leaders - his ideas and influence (Along with Woz, lets give that man the credit he deserves too) has significant impact on countries and societies. I think he will be remember for generations to come.
I guess If I could affect that level of change in the world, I guess I'd trade a few years off my life in sacrifice.
not all chemo drugs produce hairloss.
God bless and thank you Mr.Jobs.

Long live Apple !
My favorite part of a question is
Playboy: Aside from some if the recurrent criticisms ... that the mouse is inefficient.....
The mouse is inefficient. It's a crutch. But for most people it's a much better option than learing keyboard commands.
When I was a power user (back in the day), I wouldn't touch the mouse unless I had to. Once you get used to using keyboard commands to navigate and execute commands in a program, it's quicker than mousing.
Of course, computing has changed toward mousing, and many programs are difficult to keyboard through now because they are not designed with keyboarding in mind.
Example, I believe I am forced to mouse "Save" to post this or tab 6 times. Both much less efficient than an Alt/S or Alt/Ctrl/S type command.
That's what I love about my new Android multi-touch capacitive screen Tablet. The underlining 2.6 Linux kernal is stable and secure.
No mouse, speech to text, text to speech, and an on screen keyboard when you must use one.
iSad
"We built it for ourselves. We were the group of people who weregoing to judge whether it was great or not. We weren't going to go out and do marketresearch. We just wanted to build the best thing we could build."
Sounds like an Ayn Rand quote.

Brings a tear to one's i
I'm pretty sure this image is going to melt the minds of those who deified him. Cognitive dissonance on crack. That said, this guy is "dad" to three people, proper respects to them and may they be guided well by their conscience.
Thoughts also with his family.
He does not seem long for this world.
So many accomplishments. The guys reinvinted the PHONE for cryin out loud.
Visionaries like this only come around once in a blue moon, Steve you were one of a kind.
Rest up and enjoy every second, your legacy is assured.
time shall reveal...that reinventing the phone (among other gadgets)...not such a good idea..but that chapter has yet to play out...the "CULT of I" is upon us....
iMac, iPOD, iGoogle, iReport, iPAD, iPhone, iEverything...
"reinvinted the PHONE for cryin out loud"
Yes, this comment brought a tear to my eye! "Oh, the frakking humanity!"
It goes to show that money isn't everything. What's the point if you don't have your health.
Cancer is a horrible disease and it looks like he is near his end. God speed and much respect!
But Fuck TMZ and all other media outlets that prey on the voyeuristic nature of people. Fucking chasing people around to get that one "shot". Intrusive parasites. What a fucked up world!

His new Feadship yacht is almost finished.
A friend of mine has a machine shop in Gardena, which is making all the huge steel trusses that are going into the 200+ new Apple Superstores next year, and he's also making some special fabrications to go on his yacht.
Go enjoy the ocean Steve, and forget about Apple.
What is truly sad about the state of health of Mr. Jobs is that cancer has been cured since 1929 and even before. But because the United States is all about Death, Disease and Destruction, because there is more money to be made in these 3 D's, a brilliant man is dying.
http://www.rense.com/Steve%20Jobs.pdf
heartfelt and honest: May the Good Lord protect him and keep him.
Turbotax snark: And let the tax code bring some of those dollars back home. (steve would be disappointed without some fight club in his ZH tribute)
It's too bad. He's America's modern day Thomas Edison...even exceeding Bill Gates in my opinion.
yes, edison took all the credit, for thousands of hours of diligent work, performed by the forgotten. tesla, took edison, to the woodshed.

burzynski found the cure (for many people).
i'm sorry steve.

Consider the multitudes enslaved to enable his corporate entity. Yes, sad for him, but what comes around goes around. Especially when he knew.
Those piffed for such a comment. Lament your contributions as well, as our turn to be enslaved approaches.
Isn't Steve just another worthless boomer? But...Hey at least he's not racist.
