Top Mitt Romney Donors: Update

Tyler Durden's picture

As Mitt Romney speaks on TV, we thought it may be prudent to present an update of the key donors to the Romney presidential campaign.

Then again, here is Obama:

So on one hand Wall Street, and on the other Law Firms, the Government, and Academia - the four sides of the Status Quo square.

America: the best place to legally purchase a president.

How come the US Government isn't contributing to Romney?

Is it racism?

besodemuerte's picture

First thing that caught my eye as well.  I wasn't aware the Department of State and US Government in general could contribute to a campaign.  Not that rules or laws matter anymore, I just wasn't aware of this.

lemonobrien's picture

when you contribute, you have to tell them where you work; so they can come and get you if your guy looses.

besodemuerte's picture

Ah that's right, which is why Paul's top three contributers were Army, Air Force, and Marines or something like that.

Ahmeexnal's picture

Looks like a DOG EATS DOG set of lists to me.
"let the sheeple meet allah"

UP Forester's picture

How come National Amusements Inc. didn't donate more to this clown show?

Nothing To See Here's picture

Sssshhhhh don't go tell anyone that Ron Paul's got more donations from the army personal than all the other candidates combined. People could start thinking that his foreign policy makes sense. There are some things that are better left unsaid don't you know?

Pladizow's picture

Funny, the MFGlobal funds are missing from both lists?

rocker's picture

That's the only financial that is toast.  Are the others buying protection?

I wonder which candidate favours the banksters.   Hmmmmm.

fourchan's picture

i always wondered who owns america, its nice to have a list.

Yes...well, is anyone curious why Wells Fargo is on Romneys list and not Obama's.

Has Buffett double crossed the preacher?

Romneys list are contributors who can not stand the light of day or the truth it might reveal.  Obama's contributors think the lights can actually be turn on.

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself"  time will tell.

Committee of 300 list.

Fictions are necessary to the people, and the Truth becomes deadly to those who are not strong enough to contemplate it in all its brilliance.

In fact, what can there be in common between the vile multitude and sublime wisdom?

The truth must be kept secret, and the masses need a teaching proportioned to their imperfect reason.

I think you are correct. The parasites OWN the whole deranged circus. What is interesting is the lack of info. on the more super-psycho factions from Texas and Colorado, the AR devotees.

Also, there is little information here from the faction who has (makes) all the GUNS (MIC)...When push comes to shove, which faction has the greatest "fire power"?

deepthoughtless's picture

Is that total contributions across all presidential campaigns? That would explain Obama's extraordinarily high numbers (one successful run, one as the only choice for Democrat). Notice University of California donations? $1.6 million in azeconomics chart, $264,000 in ZH. Seems a large California institution may have had a lot more money in 2007/8 than in 2011/12. Go figure.

Amish Hacker's picture

I've said this before, but with Romney it will be dog eat dog. With Obama it will be the other way around.

Choose wisely.

Grinder74's picture

Not anymore.  Didn't you see Obama received a holy aura while speaking at the Vietnam memorial?

pkea's picture

did obama donate to himself those funds on the government money line. smart move:)

SoCalBusted's picture

That is the purpose of public unions and other suckers of the teat.

BlueCollaredOne's picture

Individual campaign contributions don't matter anymore.  You wanna see whos pulling the strings?  Look at the super PAC's

<First thing that caught my eye as well. I wasn't aware the Department of State and US Government in general could contribute to a campaign. Not that rules or laws matter anymore, I just wasn't aware of this.>

As a matter of fact, the High Court doesn't give a shit either about The Constitution or the Law of the Land.

It appears to me that soon, very soon, America will be much the same as USSR I've left 30 yeras ago. There is no more USSR. Then, what is the America future? The same as the USSR?

Looks like, after all, we will not have the NWO after all.

CaptFufflePants's picture

I guess you have never donated to any political campaign.

When you donate you are by law required to provide your employer, if any.

That info is used to create the list you see here.

So US Govt are government employees donating their personal money to Obama.

Ahmeexnal's picture

So why is FOODSTAMP INC. not on the list of Ogolfer patrons?

besodemuerte's picture

I guess you have never donated to any political campaign.

Fuck no I haven't, and why would any of us?  It's not like we individually get the right to steal, rape, and pillage the world.

You surmised correctly, sir.  The level of poliical expertise and insight for ZeroHedge's commentors, and a few of the Tyler's, is unfortunately equal to your average "politically active" fourteen-year-old who's feigning profound sophistication by espousing the deepest cynicism.

and you're a college professor like jimQuinn?

go fuk yerself

slewie the pi-rat's picture

have you ever worked for or administered a PAC?

that is a pretty interesting school to attend;  if businessEthics is the world's shortest book [nothing between the covers]  then political ethics is just a blackHole with money-printing economic repression for the taxpayers, crony fascism, and droney militarism as the rewards for sucking the most people in with ya

I donated. Worst mistake of my life. Never, ever again.

The thing that strikes you is what *cheap* whores they are. In a moment of weakness during the 2008 presidential race, I gave a little $50 donation. The next day, I got a call from the state's organizer, asking if I would be a state delegate to the Repub convention. I briefly relished the HST-like scene I would create before turning him down.

Then he offered me a local organizer job, managing 8 - 10 volunteers.

Apparently, they whore your email to everyone's lists. Fortunately, I gave them a throwaway mail that I use only for online stuff. Still to this day, it get emails from various nutbag groups.

DosZap's picture

So US Govt are government employees donating their personal money to Obama.

Yep, want to keep those cushy we do nothiing for our pay jobs.

  1. Fed's stimuluative efforts have run course: Romney

By looking at those contributors we may infer that Romney is pro Fed pro fucking shit motherfuckers huh?

i guess Romney will just mainline wall street personally with infinite $$$......

Captain Kink's picture

All the banks supporting Romney were the top donors, along with hedgefund managers, to Obama in the last campaign.

disabledvet's picture

As with all Canidates "they are pro Canidate first."

Kurtieboy's picture

The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organizations' PACs, their individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Bastiat's picture

I got your Change right here, buddy.

LawsofPhysics's picture

Wow, the same folks that got Obama elected in 2008, and the sheeple continue to eat it up.  LMFAO!

one party, for the banks and financial houses, by the banks and financial houses.

besodemuerte's picture

I'm actually surprised by how little banks contribute.  You'd think to own a puppet string that controls the US President that it would cost more than a few hundred thousand.  Hell banks get fined for tens of millions all the time, you'd think POTUS power would be at least as expensive as that.

smb12321's picture

ZH posters see deep conspiracies in bank contributions.  I see institutions hedging their bets and  going with someone who seems business friendly (as opposed to the current war on business).  The fact that these firms gave to Obama did not result in theit becoming BFFs.  I agree, the low amounts are surprising.

LawsofPhysics's picture

Yeah, must be all the real value in the collateral behind that 700+ trillion dollar  balance sheet.  How stupid are you?  LMFAO!

12ToothAssassin's picture

cant banks just donate to a super PAC to mask their PR exposure to insanely huge monetary gifts?

BlueCollaredOne's picture

As long as the super PAC is listed as a non profit, they can remain anonymous

blindfaith's picture

YOU bet, the tax code IS the problem, always has been.

The tax code is where church and state first mixed interests with the marriage deduction.  The tax code has married big business interests with elections under the guise of "non profit".  The tax code is the source of much trouble in the USA.

GET RID OF THE TAX CODE.  Flat tax, no deductions, no exemptions (including churches) and the light will begin to fill the room.

In your heart, you know what is true.

Inthemix96's picture

That's why you are a fucking idiot.

Cheers big ears.
