US Navy Says Any Disruption To Straits Of Hormuz "Will Not Be Tolerated"
Just out from Reuters:
- U.S. FIFTH FLEET SAYS ANY DISRUPTION OF NAVIGATION IN HORMUZ STRAIT "WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"
Compare this statement with what an Iranian navy chief said earlier:
Closing off the Gulf to oil tankers will be "easier than drinking a glass of water" for Iran if the Islamic state deems it necessary, state television reported on Wednesday, ratcheting up fears over the world's most important oil chokepoint.
"Closing the Strait of Hormuz for Iran's armed forces is really easy ... or as Iranians say it will be easier than drinking a glass of water," Iran's navy chief Habibollah Sayyari told Iran's English language Press TV.
"But right now, we don't need to shut it as we have the Sea of Oman under control and we can control the transit," said Sayyari, who is leading 10 days of exercises in the Strait.
It appears that just like in the case of the ECB, where all the powers involved need a crash of some sort to proceed with "next steps" so the same mentality has now gripped the US Fifth Fleet.
And more on the original story:
The U.S. Fifth Fleet said on Wednesday it will
not allow any disruption of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran
threatened to stop ships moving through the strategic oil route.
"The free flow of goods and services through the Strait of Hormuz is
vital to regional and global prosperity," a spokesperson for the
Bahrain-based fleet said in a written response to queries from Reuters
about the possibility of Iran trying to close the waterway.
"Anyone who threatens to disrupt freedom of navigation in an
international strait is clearly outside the community of nations; any
disruption will not be tolerated."
Asked whether it was taking
specific measures in response to the threat to close the Strait, the
fleet said it "maintains a robust presence in the region to deter or
counter destabilizing activities", without providing further detail.

Hands up anyone knows what authority the US 5th Fleet has in Arabian sears?
I thought it was bad enough JF Kennedy and Ronald Reagan saying Cuba and South America was "their doorstep" (you own your doorstep, this was more like the neighbours doorstep which they clearly did not own nor have any authority butting in to others affairs)
Americas military movers and shakers are like the tosser neighbour walking around the area telling everyone where to park their cars, how tidy to keep their lawns and what flowers he will and won't accept being planted
Who the fuck does this American toss pot think he is ???
Not true. The US operates by a very clear rule: Freedom for those who do what we say. Do whatever you like in your own country; as long as you play ball, we'll even sell you the weapons to do it with, and loan you the money to buy them.
i think Iraq demonstrated, like Iran, these American-Jew tossers will meddle in your sovereign affairs ...give 'em an inch (UN weapons inspectors nosing it around your country) and they'll take a mile (invade)
and as it proved once again, US 'intelligence' (a bullshitting Iraqi taxi driver) was wrong, no WMD to shake a stick at
it's long overdue the US f'd off out of the area code.. 'Go Home'.. your country is crumbling in bankruptcy, the days of Empire are over (and were all a failure anyway) and can't afford these moronic global chess games
Well said. The enforcers - US carrier battle groups - are floating on $20 trillion ocean of debt. When Isramerica attacks Iran...Japan, China, other dollar-dumpers will sink those carriers w/o firing a shot.
I do have something to ask ...
but first, I started reading the comments
and now I have to wonder, "When did Zero Hedge become the new Yahoo?"
Did the old yahoo become so censured, politicized and commercial that
the ovine migrated here? How sad ....
Anyway, I was just wondering just exactly when it happened that the fifth fleet
gained the responsibility to make policy. Was the Constitution duly amended
to allow this? I'm just curious ....

Within 72 hours of an Iranian move ,all of the domestic gasoline and diesel capacity in Iran will be taken out, all of the missle defenses and all of the nuclear facilities. This contingency has been planned for years.and it will not be just the US.Israel will be all in.
This is a complete bluff by iran and all parties know it.
And remember, the price of a barel of oil before the first Iraq war? From 10$ to 30$. Then the second Iraq war : from 30$ to 75$+. Now it's at 100$... how much do you think it's gonna be? 300$??
will not allow any disruption of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz
the arrogance of Empire. Doesn't every country on a large sea or ocean have 200 miles of control? Oh, that's just the US.
The Medo-Persian empire began in earnest when they took towns north of Babylon and Cyrus was able to divert the Euphrates. Then they sneeked under the wall of the city the same night that Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezar's grandson, was partying it up with a grand orgy. When the hand started writing on the wall, Belshazzar's loins were loosed. A better translation: he lost his erection (Daniel 5)
MENE, MENE (numbered, recogned)
TEKEL (weighed)
UPHARSIN (Peres, broken, divided, a pun for Persians)
Belshazzar took the gold vessels of the Holy of Holies out of the museum in Babel and used them to get drunk with his concubines. That same night Cyrus the Great took the city and Belshazzar was the only casualty. Most of the city didn't even know they had been conquered and in fact Cyrus did not change much about the culture because he was a magnanimous leader who ended up allowing Daniel and his people to return to their land. Years before, Isaiah prophecied about Cyrus 150 yrs earlier in Isa 45, which is why, after he read it Cyrus later did what God said he would. The Iranians still celebrate Cyrus.

For Iran oil related sanctions are an act of war. It is their leaders' lifeline. If oil stops flowing they might just as well go all-in and start shooting. Either war against old enemy or face revolution when no oil money coming in. Don't have to be genius to realize which option they will choose....stupid and dangerous play from American/Israeli idiots.
I wonder if the Iranians are stirred up enough and sufficiently delusional to roll out one of their nukes for this? You know, in the hold of a missile frigate or something. They wouldn't even need to have a target, just set it off in open water. If this really is the end-game then they have no reason not to and several kinds of incentive to do so.
All US intelligence agencies and the Pentagon agree that Iran has no nuclear weapons and no plans to acquire any.
this shit has been going on for decades, when I was on the USS Oullet FF-1077, in 1987, we escorted Kuwati oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz with Iranian gunboats all over the place, we were at GQ 24/7 while there.
It's all Bread and Circuses. Entertainment for the myopic mindless marionettes otherwise known as "US Citizens"... There will be mass anger and POTUS will be hugely supported in bombing Iran to kingdom come. But it'll be too early in the election cycle to give a boost to Barry. The eyes have it for Mitt, and big-money USA is happy as a pig in fecal material.

Can someone let him know?
The US Navy shot down a fully loaded Iranian civilian airliner over the Gulf of Oman with a standard missile in front of God and everyone...The Iranian's shot down a 747 over Long Island sound ...and we watched our government lie and obstruct the obvious truth...what glorious theather they gave us, look friends Iranians are not afraid of the might of the great Satan...they have already shown they will bring it....
have to disagree with the second point, had a professional pilot tell me what went wrong over Long Island, only days after the crash. it was almost a year later when the FAA confirmed his explanation. and remember Iraq fired a missile which hit one of our destroyers during the Iraq/Iran war, and that Ukraine? shot down El Al? over the Black Sea a few days after 9/11. on a long enough time frame the whole ME is a free fire zone.
we do note that with the US leaving Iraq (does anyone know how many Blackwater mercenaries are left?) that the fear that Iran will take more of an interest raised the stakes in diplomacy to keep that from happening, and we know diplomacy always comes from the barrel of a gun (or is that revolution?)
EVERYBODY, CHILL! - There, I feel better now...
C'mon America get off of your high horse, quit the trespassing and banging threats on other countries front doors, you're fucked up, it's over and you're broke, go home and mind your own fucking business!
the USN would be better off patrolling the sea off Southern Califphonia preventing the sea borne invasion of the U.S.!
Funny you should mention that. "It definitely originated from something in the ocean."

who benefits from closing the straits of hormuz? it is being portrayed as something iran would benefit from but iran needs the straits of hormuz to remain open because 100% of it's oil currently flows through the straits with no other alternative. the other major users of the straits have alternative means to ship oil out of the region through pipelines. almost all the oil shipped through the straits goes to asia(china, japan, south korea are the biggest customers). does it make sense for china to want iran(their ally)to close the straits?
the only way iran would use the straits as a strategic weapon would be if they could restrict the flow of oil through the straits of everyone except them. they can't do this even if they take out the carriers patrolling the area(the navy ships are sitting ducks with modern missile tech).
so who benefits from shutting down the straits? as a type of samson option the iranians might benefit. if they no longer own their oil they might as well sabotage the sale of it for awhile. again, china or japan would not go along with this scenario. china would have troops on the ground if it cam close to this happening. the main benefactor of a sabotaged strait are the zionist neocon forces of that shitty little country(the french ambassador's words not mine) and the usa. blaming it on iran would be the ultimate false flag for the start of ww3 as 10 dollar/gal gas would make every usa citizen instantly hate the iranians especially the ones who have never heard of the place(about half).
Who would benefit? Bankers.
Marc Rich?
RON PAUL is not perfect, his is a squeeky little dweeb, but he is the most honest man running. You will get what you vote for and maybe he will help get us out of our financial mess, though it seems that we are too far down the rabbit hole to stop the shit storm now. Perhaps he can pave the way to a better future after the crash.
I'd put hard money on Ron taking you down.

Fuck Iran.
Nuke the cocksuckers, take their oil, and pave the fucking country.
They are thirty years overdue for an ass-whipping since the time they embarrassed the USA on the world stage by taking USA hostages and the coward Jimmy Carter's steadfast refusal to engage them emboldened them and disgraced this country.
We've been fucking Iran ever since we overthrew their government and installed a police state in 1953.
Wasn't too keen on Jimmugh Cah-tuhh m'self - but that Billy Beer his brotha hawked was some serious hangover sheet!
what?
We'd be better off using our resources to cut off the little island nation of Hawaii and not allow anyone there as of today to ever come to the united states.
The US will never give up the deep water ports at Pearl. Hell, it was the only reason why the US had such an interest there in the first place. They are the only significant ones in the Central Eastern Pacific.
yeh we need our deep water ports so we can protect ourselves from the vicious terrorist out there in the world.........
False Flag Prediction:
Some tit for tat escalation from here that ends up with a carrier sunk, but the carrier already has the explosives on board.
Remember some years back when the history channel had a show where they scuttled an old carrier to form a coral reef. That was the trial run for making sure that all of the explosives were placed properly. The making of the reef was just some cover story for the activity.
Expect some Israeli sub stalking with a few torpedoes just to make sure the job gets done, remember the Liberty.
Mossad will also fire some Yankhonts or Sunburn missles from the coast as the pin on Iran.
God save Ron Paul
Re ...the history channel had a show where they scuttled an old carrier to form a coral reef. That was the trial run for making sure that all of the explosives were placed properly.
Kinda like a floating World Trade Center...
israhole did the uss cole........don't foget that one either? oh you didn't know israhole did the uss cole? well now you do....
Even among conspiracy theories, that one makes little sense even from an Israeli standpoint.
what fbi agent was sent to yemen to investigate this matter? john o'neil? does that name ring a bell? the same guy who got the job as the head of security at the wtc and never made it out alive.............hmmm.
shall i continue...........
how much money could we save if we brought the us navy home and decommissioned most of the fleet and fired most of the sailors and officers and we reduced the military budget by 90 percent?
It looks more and more likely we are going to get a reply of the summer of '88 in the Persian Gulf this year in the spring/summer when the 5th fleet was incredibly active Persian Gulf and saw several significant escalation events.

This war is to establish a zionist central bank in Iran (only few countries that dont have that. One of them was Libya and Iraq). At the same time to get their oil of course. If you support this war, means you support the establishment of FED like bank in Iran. Most of us here agree that the FED must be abolished, so we must not approve the war with Iran. The nuclear threat from Iran is a BS, like we had BS with Iraq weapons of mass destruction. Also, stop supporting israel completely, and NEVER elect officials who support israel! Officials who blindly support israel are zionists! PERIOD. For them israel is more important then USA. We will will be screwed as long as we have zionist controlling our government. It is that simple.

This is so good and true, it bears repeating ... Maybe the sheep will figure it out soon?
Edit - Look at how the trolls strannick and caconhma try to bury the inconvenient truth to some, under loads of rambling BS. @ http://www.zerohedge.com/news/us-navy-says-any-disruption-straits-hormuz...
