US Ship Mistakenly Fires On Friendly Boat Off Dubai, As Russia Condemns Saudi Treatment Of Religious Protesters
Those trigger happy US sailors are causing some diplomatic headaches again for Hillary Clinton who this time has no Syrian anti-aircraft missiles to blame, by firing on a friendly ship, killing one and injuring three, off the coast of Dubai. Per the AP: "A U.S. Consulate official in Dubai says an American vessel has fired on a boat off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, killing one person and injuring three. The official gave no further details, but it appears the boat could have been mistaken as a threat in Gulf waters not far from Iran's maritime boundaries. An Emirati rescue official confirmed the casualty toll. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the incident between the two allies. The U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet, which is based in Bahrain, said it was investigating the Monday shooting. The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi had no immediate comment." So far so bad, but where it gets even worse is that over the weekend, Russia finally decided to make its own voice heard in the middle east, and after over a year of the west condemning Syrian "eradication" of its own insurgents and keeping Russia on the defensive, Russia has decided to shine a light on none other than America's favorite regional ally: Saudi Arabia, which as we reported recently, has once again taken to quelling religious protests in Qatif and other eastern cities. Apparently Russia has had enough of this one-sided reporting of regional "insurgencies."
From Al Jazeera:
Saudi Arabia has condemned comments by Russia's human rights envoy on the situation in the kingdom as "hostile" and an unjustified interference in the kingdom's internal affairs, Saudi state media reported.
Russian Human Rights envoy Konstantin Dolgov expressed "great concern" about the situation in eastern Saudi Arabia following what he described as clashes between law enforcement and peaceful demonstrators in which two people were killed and more than 20 were wounded, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry website.
The Saudi interior ministry has said there were no clashes but that two people were killed by unknown assailants last Sunday in the east, where the country's minority Muslim Shia population is concentrated.
"The Kingdom learned with strong astonishment and surprise about the comment by the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative on human rights which represents a blatant and unjustified intervention... in the internal affairs of the kingdom," the Saudi news agency quoted a Foreign Ministry statement, attributed to an "official source", as saying on Saturday.
The agency said the government of Saudi Arabia condemned such comments as "hostile".
Dolgov had said that people in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia were protesting "against the existing, according to their opinion, impairment of the rights of the Shi'ite community on the part of the authorities of the Kingdom".
Saudi Arabia said that minor protests took place after the arrest of a cleric on charges of sedition, and after he and a group with him opened fire on police.
It said that two men who were killed had been shot by unknown assailants and an investigation into who killed them was underway.
Keep a close eye on this latest geopolitical development as it marks a major departure for Russia which so far has stayed out of Saudi Arabian dealings with its own insurgent population, a move which make no mistake, is nothing short of a shot across the US diplomatic bow.

Russia says what ? lol
BUSTED
oops..
If we should take anything away from this it is that the MIC is ready for war. Firing at will premptively means that the MIC is on high alert and is expecting a threat.
Have we moved from rumours of war to the war itself?
Let's face it, the Americans just aren't very good, are they?
Somebody fucked up in loading live shells for the rehearsal.
I can't say for sure who was at fault here, as I'm not aware of all the issues, but my suspicion is that those UAE terrorists were asking for it. The US military doesn't tend to make mistakes. I think this was both intentional and justified.
The US military doesn't tend to make mistakes.
No they are professional fuckwits... It takes real effort and years of training to be this fucking stupid...
So there were no massacre at My Lai in vietnam....and no torture or renditions either, because they have all worked out so us all

Dubai is not Vietnam...
Iraqnam is though isn't it Comrade?
If you are on this thread to misdirect it, there must be something afoot.....?
Until the focus is on Russia's global military strategems, unfolding Mideast events will continue to seem most odd:

JMHO
There are no "Friendly Boats" in the Middle East that that approach at high rates of speed and ignore all radio warnings. Shoot them then, and shoot them again given the same situation.
Anyone remember the USS Cole?????
Anyone remember the USS Liberty?????
There are no FRIENDLY boats....period....
There are no boats....period....
Just wait, with God’s help, US military may nuke Israel in a near future.
ahhhhh-to dream
Me misdirect it? Just wondering how we get from thick fucking yanks shooting up innocent sailors to Vietnam, and now Iraq it seems?
But please do explain, if you can...
You are the misdirection master, I'm sure you will lead us .... (astray)
What truth were we approaching? Were we getting warm?
Can't you give us a hint?
Yep, you're talking complete shite.
I take it you never defended your country? You are a target, sometimes accidents happen. It's not a reflection of competence. Until you've been there you'll never know.
Time to stop making excuses me thinks. Next thing you'll be telling me, this was deliberate...
Funny how Americans have a nasty recurring habit of blue on blue, it's what makes the rest of the sworld nervous when an armed yank is standing behind you...
But then, until you've been there you'll never know...
If the UK had the financial and political wherewithal to contribute more than a token force (to every major conflict since WWII) you would incur a friendly fire incidents, as well. When you stay home nothing bad happens, eh?
I guess he is kvetching about when we came over in WW2 and helped them out with their little private dust-up with Sir Adolf of Art School. We sacrifice 1/2 million American men to help them out in East and West theater, he repays us with bitter lectures about how Americans are awful and mostly engage in "blue on blue" killings. Also how stupid we are and can't tell if we are more stupid or incompetent.
Sorry Harley1. I apologize deeply and humbly for helping you out in WW1 and WW2. It was a horrible mistake which I regret completely.
No, nothing like that prole. You seem to have this knack for making shit up.
Without England you'd have been fucked, and Roosevelt knew it. When the Japs hit Pearl the Germans had 200 combat ready divisions in the field, the Japs had 100. America had 1.
Get it, you were sitting ducks, ripe for invasion and that was what was next on the menu had you not joined in on the Allies side. There was no way Roosevelt could have built a large enough standing army to defend yourself because you were all wondering around eating ice cream telling yourself it was a European war so that you wouldn't have to spend any money. You think you bailed England out? Get real. Had England fallen you would have had 100 Japanese divisions arriving on your beaches and no means whatsoever to defend yourselves and NO ONE would have lifted a finger to help you.
This is the real cost of the 'American Dream' and the reality of Americas true defensive position. You were making money because the rest of the world was fighting and you were supplying both sides in a war that would inevitably arrive at your door, and for which you were woefully ill prepared. Help me out? Of course you did, it was the only way you could survive, and anyone with any intelligence knew it, except the average American citizen that is...
But just for clarity, do let us know which beach you stormed then, just so that we can be sure you aren't trying to claim due consideration for the brave deeds of others simply through an accident of your birth...
That would de somewhat disingenuous wouldn't it?
The UK contributes a small though highly effective force of highly trained professionals capable of identifying who the enemy is BEFORE opening up on them.
Clearly the Americans aren't capable of that.
Which makes them piss poor missile throwers at best. Take those away and it's distinctly amateur time, as you can see when your warships open up on anyone in your immediate vicinity because they haven't the professionalism to even find out who they are.
(Add- This is addressed to micro-organ)
Them is some pretty tough soundin words there hombre.
(Assuming you're American or British) just when exactly did you defend your country? And who attacked your country thatwich you found your badass self defendin it?
It is perfectly plausible that you did so, but it means you were fighting either in 1967 the last time America was attacked, or mebbe 1944 If you are British
(full disclosure-- I have no doubt you are a .gov trained killer, I just highly doubt you defended your country against any aggression, unless you are a Serb or some nationality I haven't considered)
Huh? I'm speaking in simple terms, sorry you can't understand it. Could you be projecting due to a lack of endowment?
At any rate, anyone that has served understands how many ways things can go wrong even in peacetime. Inject the criminal rules of engagement and the fact that our military isn't even fully supported by its Commader In Chief and it becomes even more challenging to make the best choice of a snap decision when time is short.
BTW... I served 8 years with distinction, how about you?
(It is true I was not very well endowed. In fact I don't think I got any gold and no more than two or three ounces of silver for my birthright)
Back to my point-
That is totally not what I asked you, and your response is in no way related to what you said in your previous post, from which bold tough rambo-esque language I asked you a simple question (which you totally ignored and changed the subject)
You said:
"I take it you never defended your country? You are a target, sometimes accidents happen. It's not a reflection of competence. Until you've been there you'll never know."
In awe, I asked you: When did you defend your country? Who aggressed against your country to which you thusly defended said country, and was country USA?
You totally ignored my question and simper some comment about "serving." Who did you serve- Some dinner guests? I have served lunch and dinner guests I can tell you that proudly as well. I repeat me question to you, when and against whom did you defend your country? you hinted that you have defended your country and you have"been there" tell me about it I am all ears!!
As for your question I beg you to allow me to not answer it, for various reasons, but I can say that I never actually defended my country from any attack invasion aggression or such disturbance.
I did try to save a bunny once when I was a kid. I forgot what happened to him. I hope he lived.
I used to like rabbit pie, once...
I take it you never defended your country?
Defence is at home, attack is half way round the world.
How about the American sponsored soft coup of Paraguay? I suppose they're "our bastards" so that makes it OK and defence?
America has been involved in the overthrow of many governments in Latin America to shore up its domination of the region.
Hello Hugh, perhaps i'm off topic, but there is something in your post evoking a response in me, I've never served personally, I know it is a source of great pride, and camaraderie in those for those who have served, Am I ever sorry I didn't go? and be welcomed in VFW rooms across the land;~ Different things for different people I guess ~I'm just as glad I stayed here and paid my taxes so someone else could go for me, Whoever you are, a sincere thank you! I did have a yearning to join up during Vietnam, not because of my fervor to serve, no, I'm afraid it was really because I wanted to try the things we used to hear about at school, enough said about that, Mother talked be out of it, I probably wasn't hard to disuade, as she explained to me some things about the lot of those she called the "little people", I had never really thought there were people out there, other than servants of course, who couldn't have pretty well what ever they wanted, as Mother talkedI began to understand that there where men out there without a decent pair of pants or shoes, and if they joined up, they would get pants and shoes and three meals a day doing a job which will give them the lifelong rewards I mentioned at the first, I agreed with Mother, `I didn't want to deprive a poor man a pair of pants or shoes so i went into the Bank my Greatgrand Father had started with two friends with the money they brought from the oldcountry with them, I'm happy with the choices I've made, life has been good, I've always thought, "we, the Bank, did well by doing good, it is hard to do good and please everyone, that is reality, a few years ago we had everyone in their homes with lots of money in their pockets, unfortunately a lot couldn't pay their bills so we had to take their collateral, what is wrong with that? thats' just business, that is life, Mr. Jefferies, who has been here a very long time, tells me that when things turn around we'll be lending to them again, but not right now, My office is on the top floor, i have a private elevator and when I look down from my Offoce window I see the "Little" people scurring through the streets like ants in an Ant hill it brings a chuckle to my lips and the reality yo my mind that you can't really do anything about anything, so get all you can for yourself; the Ants will always be with us and if they attack they will tear us to shreds!.
Why can't we all be Douglas Feiths?
They are, in the military.
Our military thinks at least 15 minutes into the future.
Indeed, one less terrorist mothership floating around.
Damn MDB you're losing your touch. This post wasn't funny at all. Thumbs Down.

Remember the Maine! I mean, the Lusitania. I mean, the USS Liberty. Damn, I'm confused.
How could you forget the Maddox and Turner Joy?
Don't forget the USS Pueblo
They're headed right for us!
Dammit, they just turned into us for the sixth time!
If you listen to all the survivors of the USS Liberty complaining about Israel, it seems that they were all a bunch of anti-semites who deserved to get their ship sunk. Maybe that's why LBJ and Mcnamara did nothing to punish the Israelis.
You would turn into an anti-semite too if they tried to kill you.
I was being sarcastic.

huh?
I'm actually anti- anyone who tries to kill me!
Meanwhile, ya gotta laugh at:
Russia makes a "comment" and it's unjustified interference. ZATO invades Libya and Syria, and bombs Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan (and probably a few others I regretfully overlooked...it's hard to keep up!), and that's not interference!?!
Egypt, let's not forget them! They seem to be adjusting quite well, no?

Is it a coincidence that when the Eurozone has hit the rocks, so did the ship?

One thing is for sure...the ship that fired on the so called "friendly boat"..you won´t remeber them this time.....
Few remember the Liberty. Few have even heard of it.
It said that two men who were killed had been shot by unknown assailants and an investigation into who killed them was underway.
The Saudis should get advice from The Juice on finding the "real killers". He's pretty good at that goose chase / stall tactic.
If the shemagh don't fit you must acquit.
I have to agree with this from a strategic perspective. Russia's military is a faint whisper of the glory days. From a threat assessment perspective, Russia should be considered a "serious pain in the ass", but not anything to lose sleep over.
Russia however, understands US politics extremely well and knows when and where to push our buttons. No way in hell does Obama want to look like a pussy right now, nor does he want a new conflict. That's a hell of a bind. And that's where the pot of honey lies for Putin. There are all kinds of points to score for Russia right now...
You can't really hear them though without a Navy now can you...they can squack but they can't project power wihtout one.
I see the "diplomacy sessions" have begun.
And if this was a Russian ship, it would not been reported.
Oops!
Barking Russia is as relevant as barking Chihuahua, nobody cares what a toothless creature like Russia has to say.
Putin is pissed at Saudi Arabia because Saudis helped to bring oil down to the eighties, and Putin needs oil to be above $100 to keep his corrupt oligarch economy in the green.
if only i could give you a half greeny and a half red,... but

Shakashvili is that you? Republik of Georgia says 'hi'
I am not Mikheil Saakashvili (the third and current President of independent, from Russian occupation, Georgia).
And I am not Donald Trump, who has recently invested $250 million in Georgia (and $0 in super-corrupt Russia).
Wow. What a ringing endorsement. Because we all know the Donald never makes a bad investment.
except Atlantic.........oh, never mind
Donald is not the only one; hence, massive capital outflows from Russia, and many investors/economists question whether Russia should be a part of the BRIC.
Fine with that.
The US isn't part of the civilized world.
Russia should keep investing in gold and nuclear weapons, and it will be just fine.
Here, Putin thinks he is a wolf -- it was very scaring.

You know nothing of the Renowned Russian Bear.
What took Russia all this time ?
Russia pumps over 10 million barrels a day and if they can create some Saudi upheaval and shut off some production from them, the price of their own 10 mbpd will go up, draining money from all their European customers and ensuring subservience.
the old saying applies-"Never play chess with a Russian"
And the old Lion saying - "Never play poker with a Cheetah".
Especially the two legged variety.
Let me amend both your posts: if you have a two legged cheetah, poke her......................
No, I think that' supposed to be 'Cougar'..................
I though we were playing Battleship?
Remember that the breakup of the Soviet Union was partially engineered by keeping oil prices very low by Saudi Arabia . The Russians have not forgotten - Saudi Arabia remains an enemy of Russia.
Also, in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabians (bin Laden for one) led and funded the muslim opposition that defeated the Soviets. So one more reason for the Russians to hate the Saudis.
I'm not seeing that in this chart...

:) Well Russia have already tied up Germany, and now Germany is working hard in tying up the rest of Europe in Russian Gas. The ols , so called buddies, are becoming buddies again. History have a tendency to repeat itself. Right?
The part about russian gas is true, Netherlands (NATO partner) heavily invested in Russian pipelines and Gas distribution. (even more than BRD)
The part about germans rooting for war is total rubbish - the german people are much further removed from militairism than the american public, who have been fed ridiculous scare stories about muslims for a decade.
It will only take one more 9-11 and WW3 will commence? There's been a rumour about the Olympics, but I don't know what is going to happen.
It's a formidable show of militairy power of the old empire regardless. One could easily mistake it for a militairy parade or exercise instead of a sports event. Something's in the pipeline, and it's no good.
No I don't trust russian leadership either, or chinese..

Hi. I'd like to book 10,000 round trip tickets between any two domestic destinations, please.
Reminds me of when I lived England during the '70s. Strolling about in London one day went past the Aeroflot office. Went inside and asked what the cost difference was between a proletariat and bourgeois ticket between Heathrow and Sheremetyevo.

Russia is just calling a spade a spade.
This is not a one sided world and not all countries which do not belong to NATO are Evil and not all "Insurgents" are what they are made out to be. Some fight for retaliation for killed or wounded loved ones, some fight as they consider their country's sovereignity has been compromised or they resent invasion.
This is not a one sided world
That's not what I learned from watching TV and attending public school in America.
I'm a freedom fighter
You're a rebel
They're terrorists
The Saudi's protect women from driving, how dare the Russians criticize them.
I guess Sharia Law is not quite all bad after all.
Now, if we could just get all Chinese everywhere to adopt Sharia Law, for both males and females, it might be safe to drive again.
Ever driven in China? They drive better than most city-dwellers in the US. The difference is that there are very few if any rules to road over there. It's driving around erratic citizens here that screws them up. After having driven in over 20 countries myself, I can Americans are for the most part the worst. The problem is that they think they are good drivers, when it's just their fear of the laws that keeps them in check for the most part.
God protects them from thinking.
"Trigger happy sailors". Kiss my ass. Have you ever been in a situation where your life was at stake? Or several hundred other lives, depending on you and your decisions?
The USS Cole was not so long ago as to be gone from memory.
Also "Islam means peace". If you're referring to 7th century barbarism types of peace.
Islam means submission bitch.
Fuck islam.
Maybe the ships should just come home.. There's an idea..
What kind of peace are we (Americans) promoting? How many civilians have we killed in the past 10 years?
counting the ones here?
If you like.. We can also add those lives that have been destroyed by our prison for profit system as well..
Phuk it, I was going to reply but I don't want to question the guy on the hotseat from 4,000 miles away. The navy will end the ship Captains career anyway.

That was a polite way of saying "blow me".
Hillary was only pissed because Slick got her first.
Me too. Couldn't believe it at first. Pure genius.
Potent stuff, that. Way more serious than tomatoes . . . or even shoes.
They really meant it.
I guess the Egyptians bullshit o'meters are still working! LOL
TOTAL MEDIA HYPE!!!! How long ago was the Monica Lewinsky ordeal??? Huh???? The Egyptian people do not so much as have time to even know who Monica is.
This is to draw attention to the sheeple--dumb ass americans who can't seem to take their time to be aware of what's going on in Egypt. And so, it's also about Hilary being a Democrat--for the Republicans can't get it their way--all the time....poor pussy.
Is this the latest issue of Pravda? Does it say anything about one of the Tylers? Is Russia the world's new role model?
You don't find it odd that we condone tyranny in Saudi Arabia yet in the same breath condemn it in Syria?
