US Ship Mistakenly Fires On Friendly Boat Off Dubai, As Russia Condemns Saudi Treatment Of Religious Protesters
Those trigger happy US sailors are causing some diplomatic headaches again for Hillary Clinton who this time has no Syrian anti-aircraft missiles to blame, by firing on a friendly ship, killing one and injuring three, off the coast of Dubai. Per the AP: "A U.S. Consulate official in Dubai says an American vessel has fired on a boat off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, killing one person and injuring three. The official gave no further details, but it appears the boat could have been mistaken as a threat in Gulf waters not far from Iran's maritime boundaries. An Emirati rescue official confirmed the casualty toll. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the incident between the two allies. The U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet, which is based in Bahrain, said it was investigating the Monday shooting. The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi had no immediate comment." So far so bad, but where it gets even worse is that over the weekend, Russia finally decided to make its own voice heard in the middle east, and after over a year of the west condemning Syrian "eradication" of its own insurgents and keeping Russia on the defensive, Russia has decided to shine a light on none other than America's favorite regional ally: Saudi Arabia, which as we reported recently, has once again taken to quelling religious protests in Qatif and other eastern cities. Apparently Russia has had enough of this one-sided reporting of regional "insurgencies."
From Al Jazeera:
Saudi Arabia has condemned comments by Russia's human rights envoy on the situation in the kingdom as "hostile" and an unjustified interference in the kingdom's internal affairs, Saudi state media reported.
Russian Human Rights envoy Konstantin Dolgov expressed "great concern" about the situation in eastern Saudi Arabia following what he described as clashes between law enforcement and peaceful demonstrators in which two people were killed and more than 20 were wounded, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry website.
The Saudi interior ministry has said there were no clashes but that two people were killed by unknown assailants last Sunday in the east, where the country's minority Muslim Shia population is concentrated.
"The Kingdom learned with strong astonishment and surprise about the comment by the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative on human rights which represents a blatant and unjustified intervention... in the internal affairs of the kingdom," the Saudi news agency quoted a Foreign Ministry statement, attributed to an "official source", as saying on Saturday.
The agency said the government of Saudi Arabia condemned such comments as "hostile".
Dolgov had said that people in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia were protesting "against the existing, according to their opinion, impairment of the rights of the Shi'ite community on the part of the authorities of the Kingdom".
Saudi Arabia said that minor protests took place after the arrest of a cleric on charges of sedition, and after he and a group with him opened fire on police.
It said that two men who were killed had been shot by unknown assailants and an investigation into who killed them was underway.
Keep a close eye on this latest geopolitical development as it marks a major departure for Russia which so far has stayed out of Saudi Arabian dealings with its own insurgent population, a move which make no mistake, is nothing short of a shot across the US diplomatic bow.

I hope it wasn't Tiger's boat?
When again is the Dubai classic?

I tried to join the Navy as a kid but the Marine recruiter said I wasn't eligible because my parents were married. Semper Fi.
I wasn't able to join any branch of the military because I could read and write above a fourth grade level.
I wasn't able to join any branch of the military because I was already in the Air Force.
:-)
My Viet Nam draft number was 362, so I stayed home and smoked dope.
Where's my medal?
There is no medal for being too smart to be cannon fodder for Robert McNamara
Uh Ruh!
It's all good...they'll be sure to offer the deepest regret for this loss of life...
USA, USA, USA!!!!!!!
fuck that.....
Just need a few americans on tv chanting USA USA USA and everything will be fine. Most americans believe that = patriot
What's the problem? We killed hundreds of thousands of innocents in Iraq on the basis of an "honest mistake" and we have never apologized for that. Hell, it's them who owe us gratitude.
What's this apology shit about?
Being American appears to mean never having to say you're sorry . . . and nobody can make you, either.
I think I'll go put my flag up out front now . . .
make sure you chant USA a few times while doing it.
Kiss my ass 'cause I'm an American!

If you bring that much firepower into a tensious region then sooner or later someone will lose his/her cool. The middle east is a tinderbox waiting for a spark.
and who's boat did we sink???
Yea really....who WAS it? Same as the F-14 shot down, remember that? Well it wasnt shot down the pilot just got lost.
AMERICA!! FUCK YEAYYYYYYY!!!!
We kicked their ass!! No need to start WW3 with Russia or China - let's invade Bahrain and Kuwait-or even Saudi Arabia. ---we can kick some commie ass in the Olympics. USA! USA!
But they were anti-American religious protestors -in other words-terrorists. No better than those Ron Paul agitators and nutcakes complaining that we should follow the Constitution. The same short-sighted, idealistic fools who are now complaining about manipulation of the Libor rates. If Tim Geithner sanctioned the manipulation of Libor, it must have been done in our national interest -probably to save the planet from another meltdown which would further have weakened our country and left us vulnerable to the terrorists. These terrorists are both evil and smart.Obama Sim Laden knocked down 3 buildings with just two planes. It appears he was able to sneek in some terrorists to wire the buildings with explosives. Obama Sin laden wanted us to invade iraq and get bogged down in ruinous wars that would bankrupt us. It appears he was right, but I'm not so sure-- I am convinced that QE3 will be what we need to finally get the ship sailing in the right direction. Healthy bank profits and bonuses by Christmas time will get the ball rolling again. Trickle down economics - it works. Even Paul Craig Roberts used to agree with this before he became a lefty communist pro-terrorist agitator.
Everyone is under suspicion...in the USSA
DOH!
Flashback last olympics...
Russian television reports that Russian troops are moving into South Ossetia.
The development comes hours after Prime Minister Vladimir Putin warned Georgia that its attack on South Ossetia will draw retaliation.
Channel 1 television showed a convoy of Russian tanks that it said entered South Ossetia. The convoy was expected to reach the provincial capital, Tskhinvali, in a few hours.
It is disgraceful that anyone would attack during Olympics, and Georgian President “Saakashvili agreed the timing was not coincidental” (a quote from Associated Press).

The olympics and geopolitical events go together like [insert metaphor here].
...like .... Sasha Gray and Anal sex.
... like Al Gwhore and questionable touching with a message therapist.
Disgraceful, perhaps.
But the judges did award them an average score of 8.9 for that invasion.
Why would anyone travel half way across the world to attend a sporting event where the host nation felt it necessary to mount missiles on buildings to protect the spectators?
Russian human rights envoy...
Ok I've read enough lol, those first three words just don't go well together.
When western human right envoy's visit the middle east or south east asia, the locals never look too keen to see them either...
IDK these Egyptians were rather 'keen' to see Hitlery, they welcomed her with fresh fruit and free stylish footwear:

Sort of like appointing Tony Blair as Middle East peace envoy....oh wait.
Can Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize twice?
Can't take a good 'ole joke? Heck with them then!
Another Gulf of Tonkin incident !! The west is just itching to pop this off.
puts down phone: Colonel Trautman was on that boat?
to aide: Find me John Rambo.
Captain: "Oh, don't worry. They'll never fire a torpedo unless we fire one."
Sailor: "Fire One!"
Rambo: "The war's over for me". (YO)
"John, I've been told by the president to offer you HONOR, REINSTATEMENT AT FULL RANK, and, er, financial aid on a college loan and pre-approval for a home loan with a fixed rate. Dammit soldier DON'T YOU FACEPALM, I'M YOUR SUPERIOR!"
We're good at shooting stuff. We really are. The right stuff.......well, we're good at shooting stuff.
I 'taint' likin' any of this!
Don't Fire Until You See the White of Their Tan Lines....
Oh Snap!
One has to be really effing stupid to approach a U.S. warship in such a high tension environment.
But, whatever. The person ordering the shooting, and the gunner, should be given a medal and increase in rank and pay.
While I am certain that the liberals will call for someone to be hung from the yardarm and how we must compensate young Haji's family, tough doo doo.
Did you just say that Russia has a human rights envoy? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
Russia's track record on human rights is...questionable at best.
I agree. When Russia started torturing people at GITMO...I said to myself "these guys have no respect for human rights".
I began to doubt the Russians years ago when they mercilessly slaughtered the innocent women and children at Waco.
For me it was when those scum-beings took the last silver out of their money and forced their citizenry to use nothing but worthless paper -- thus delivering their own people into the clutches of monsters who want to control everything.
I thank God that I can still live in a free country.
The America in my mind.
That's wierd, 'cause the guy that wrote 'Gulag Archipelago' thought the same thing!
Putin, born in 1956, is very much brainwashed Soviet piece of garbage, trying to setup his very own Soviet Union. Once again making 1930's style noises against Baltic countries and even Finland, that you little guys and your countries are belong to us, whether you like it or not.
Putin is one crazy ass MOFO, that's FOSHO!
4 aircraft carriers and their battlegroups, F-22's shipped to the area, hundreds of mine sweeping drone subs, tens of thousands of troops conducting coastal landing drills, and Hillary chatting it up with Israel to "reassure" them of the US's commitment to their safety, security and posterity...
and oh yeah, Iran not only green lit the plan to block the straight, but has also dispersed much of it's military assets throughout the country moving them to more combat ready positions, according to several news sources, they are operating under a "imminent attack" attitude, a kind of defcon 1,000,000.
it appears the writing on the wall is clearer than we here in the west have yet seen and it is no longer a question of if, but now it's simply when and that when appears to be sooner rather than late...
at least the Iranians seem to think so.
so the question is who else gets involved and who stays in the bleachers?
draft notices in our stockings this Christmas bitchez?
We just can't bring ourselves to capitalize that first letter of the sentence, can we?
Sorry, skipped your post.

More likely, we are in a small period of time where some are able to post opinion freely...a wonder I think for our grandchildren in the Rothschild fuck the useless-eaters world coming soon to your world.
Get silver, munitions
This incident will be good for a $500 billion dollar bump in next year's defense budget. Thank god we're fighting them over there so we don't have to find them off the New Jersey shore - they might wing Snookie, our national treasure...
US citizenism at work:
So called natural rights theory.
See how it takes a Russian human right envoy to call out that the Saudis treatment of religious opponents might not be in lin with US citizen human rights.
For US citizens, the group is all. Collectivism at work.
Where are the chinese US citizens pushing for respect of human rights in Saudi Arabia?
Where are the other US citizen human right lovers?
Saudis are not killing human beings because US of A gang lord does not tell anything. US citizens have put a monopoly on humanity. They make you a human being or not at will.
Same job as since inception when those that were enslaved by US citizens were made non human so that US citizens could keep their slavery business up.
US citizenism at work.
Maybe time for all the US citizen god, guns and gold crowd to start a new Lincoln brigade and wash their feet with the tyrants' blood.
Oh, wait, guns arent for that, guns are for backing up an extortion, farming business.
Well, religious protesters in Saudi Arabia, just stay in line, Pensylvania made tear gas and US made bullets will find you.
US world order.
FREE TIBET FROM US WORLD ORDER!!!
No More American genocide in Tibet!! US forces out of Tibet!!
AnAnonymous, sanctimonious hypocritical worm, said:
Yes, of course. The Chinese had a much better opinion of their slaves, as they viewed them as "half-man, half-thing". After all, in Chinese citizenism, half-human is better than non-human by 50 percent.

The real issue here is that apparently US Navy has a green light to fire on Iranian ships which was heretofor unknown...seems like we continue to want to provoke something which of course makes a sitting president seem that much more "presidential". Don't count out an attack in the next 3 months..
Don't count an attack out in the next 3 months ON AMERICAN SOIL..(FIFY)
Pathetic fucks here actually applause Russian actions?! Fuck you idiots. Syrian rebels are fighting for their freedom and all you fucks, you pampered shits, you disgusting assholes do, is to spew your fucking conspriracy bullshit. FUCK OFF!
Yeah, it is that bad also in Saudi Arabia and I do not like USA supporting those asshole oil royal families there but I do not see any of you heading to Saudi Arabia to support their fight for freedom.
Please stop your brain from farting in public.
Everyone here is well aware the FSA are a lose knit group of Mercs, Al Qaeda and Muslim brotherhood terrorists supported by Western nations and western friendly countries like Turkey and Saudi Arabia. They are not fighting for freedom they are fighting to destabilize and destroy Syria and its non Sunni population. Standard western MO for a regime topple.
they even have their own tv channel.

I thought the Associated Press was their channel...
Are you sleeping with Hitlary?

50 cal, according to BBC:
"The US crew repeatedly attempted to warn the vessel's operators to turn away from their deliberate approach. When those efforts failed to deter the approaching vessel, the security team on the Rappahannock fired rounds from a .50-calibre machine gun."
The US Navy said the incident was being investigated.
It is not clear where the crew of the boat are from.
The US Navy's 5th Fleet is based in Bahrain.
AP news agency reported that UAE officials and police were crowded around the white-hulled boat, which after the incident was docked in a small Dubai port used by fishermen.
The boat appeared to be a civilian vessel about 30ft (9m) long and powered by three outboard motors, the report said.
30ft and 3 outboards? Sounds like the terror of the seas. "The crew was armed with some kind of Turkish-made woven nylon ensnarement device (aka "fishing nets"), and, chinese-made synthetic-petro-derived thermal neck armor (aka "turtlenecks"). They were also sporting solar-reflecting forehead-mounted identity-cloaking devices (aka "hats"). One of them sliced what was formerly purported to be an apple (it was a persimmon) with a shiny object and leered provocatively, enticing the American craft, which repeatedly warned the "spearboat" against engaging in hostile terrorism by multiple random soundings of the airhorn, to proactively open fire."
Hopefully it was an Israeli boat.
this, from the Washington compost is just perfect-
As critics accuse President Obama of a weak response to the political and humanitarian crisis in Syria, the president quietly signed an order Monday proclaiming “Captive Nations Week.”
“As individuals rise to demand their universal rights, the United States stands with them in pursuit of equality, justice, and freedom,” the president declared in the order. “And as long as there are people who live in the darkness of oppression, America will remain their steadfast friend, linked by a common dream and our common ideals.”
so, how much do you want to bet Saudi Arabia did not make the list of "captive nations"?
would be rather awkward if they did considering where all their tools of oppression come from...
I love the smell of hypocrisy in the afternoon.
.
...and common captivity.
Freedom from government is a right.
Those boys threaten to open fire on you even in US domestic waters!!!
Any fool that approaches one of these vessels is asking to die.
I am sure that the locals all understand the protocols, I doubt that this was done by accident, sounds like some "people" are testing the response to a "intrusion" into the "no go" area.....
I am sure god will give them their 40 virgins or what ever.....
70, I think. Or 72? Virgins I mean... Oh, who gives a fuck anyway?
Virginians. 72 Virginians. Ran out of virgins a LOOOONG time ago. All they have left are some virginians, and they ain't lovin' on the ol 'islam' thing.
You have obviously never been to Tysons Corner.
+1...lol
How many miles from US did this happen?
Who was approching who?
Just ask'n
CCanuck asked:
It occurred in US territorial waters, just 8600 nautical miles off the coast of Norfolk, Virginia.
The folks in Norfolk should sleep well tonite, no 30ft speedboats to threaten thier safety.
The US coastal waters seemed to have grown, a bit.
I wont pass judgment yet. But since the Cole incident, the Navy has been a little touchy about nearby vessels. These guys should know by now that they should back off. I dont wander up to a wolf.
I'm kind of disappointed in this event. Last time the US military didn't tend to make a mistake they shot down an Iranian airliner with a few hundred innocents aboard.
yep, the Capt. of the USS Vincent. I was still in the US Navy when this happened.
On a Sunday AM, I drove through La Jolla from Long Beach to visit my old g.f. and saw a van burning on a side road. Later found out the Capt. of the USS Vincent was a terrorist target.
trigger happy, you'll see more of these types of incidents.
That is the Worst False Flag Event In History...
but do remember the USS Liberty
And the leaflets falling from the Syrian sky will read, "You have been pre-approved for democratic liberation."
........."and a home mortgage".
..."and financial aid at the American university of your choice..."
Restriction applies.
Ask your Imam if liberation is right for you.
Anymore peacekeeping forces and we will have WWIII.
Hillary and Rumsfield are going to have an emotional exchange.
Now if you're talking about the US taking over Saudi Arabi then why'd they beat around the Bush.
I'm sure somebody from ZH lost his gold with this boating accident...
There was always the implicit threat in our dealings with the Saudis, go along with the globalist geopolitical plan for face "regime change" card and get the Saddam/Slobo treatment.
It appears Russia is stepping in to make the Saudis the "bad guys" and case for another "Arab Spring" rather than Hillary.
The Saudis can always play the "we surrender to Islam" card right back-and trigger a global rebellion (maybe).
China will sit pat and observe hoping for the dollar denominated oil to continue-as they get about 500B extra dollars a year.
Springtime in Saudi Arabia. And the whole world goes apeshit. Interesting times.
