Watch Bernanke And Geithner Testify Together On The European Financial Crisis - Is There A Plan B?

Tyler Durden's picture

What is more amusing than the pathological liars that are Tim Geithner or Ben Bernanke testifying to congress? Both of them testifying at the same time. Such as now. From C-Span: "Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke go before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Wednesday to discuss lessons learned from Europe’s sovereign debt crisis. In a hearing titled, “Europe’s Sovereign Debt Crisis: Causes, Consequences for the United States and Lessons Learned,” both financial chiefs will share their personal experiences.  Since the crisis, the Federal Reserve has assisted foreign counterparts by provide monetary support. In November, the Fed and it's worldwide counterparts announced a cut in the interest rate premium charged to over seas banks which borrow in dollars.  The monetary policy targeted struggling European banks. In a Senate hearing earlier this year, leading economists also testified on the European debt crisis and the outlook for the eurozone. They said that the U.S. should treat the crisis as a wake-up call and urged lawmakers to bring down debt and spending to sustainable levels." The overarching theme of the hearing will be, as darrell Issa just asked, "What is Plan B." Alas, as Mario Draghi made very clear two weeks ago, there is no "Plan B."

Watch it live below after the bounce.

Even admitting the possibility of a Plan B diminishes the effectiveness of the scam.

plan B is to cheat, lie, coerce, and manipulate.

no, sorry.  that's plan A.

plan B must be to manipulate, coerce, lie, and cheat.

Plan B From Outer Space...................?

This is widely considered to be the worst movie ever produced.   We may be watching a remake.

roadhazard's picture

No, Nodding Hill is the very worst movie of all times.

The Big Ching-aso's picture

Ha.   I never saw it, but from what I gather it could be Nutting Hill.   I bet he nuts her in the end.

I keep hearing the world trillions in Geithner's statements.  When we have conforably replaced a b for a t, we are clearly in the first stages of hiperinflation.  The amount that made Barings colapse in the 90s is chumpchange nowadays.

Bernanke's testimony blanked out from 27:00 to 35:00 minutes.

roadhazard's picture

He didn't, and if he did he would have to stick a piece of chalk up her butt and have her pretend she is writing 8,888,8888,888.88  to get anything out of it.

Ben doesn't like gold because it's dangerous if you drop it from a helicopter.

The only thing more amusing that watching these two is the spectacle of Congress lecturing the American people on fiscal responsibility.  I don't know which is worse.

Can anyone explain to me what makes these guys any different than Bernie Madoff ?

Shouldn't they too be in jail with Madoff ?

Timmah and Ben together?

And I saw a beast...The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and balsphemies...Then I saw another beast...he had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.  He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast.  (Revelation 12)

Plan B? For what? Everything is FINE now right?

riphowardkatz's picture

Its not totally fine but it is transitory (I think he said that almost 2 years ago now)

Like many rivals, General Mills’ profit suffered from rising input prices—and consumers balking at higher food prices.

What? But CNBC says we LOVE paying more for everything!

It would be so great to see a 747 crash right thru the roof...solve most all of our problems.

If I said "especially if it were Air Force One" then I might get a knock at the door.  So I won't say that.

Ben looks uncomfortable taking the oath- moved away from Elf Boy

MFL8240's picture

I read that Bernanke said the Gold standard would not solve our problems and that HE knew better than the Gold standard how to adress monetary problems.  Of course, all of the monetary problems have been caused by the Federal reserve and no one question this clown on the need for discipline and getting the money out of the hands of the Jewish Banking cartel which is more the issue than his tinkering with interest rates and bailouts.  This group is disgusting!

Every time I see Timmy's weaslelly face I want to jump through the screen.

azzhatter's picture

I feel so much better listening to this piece of excrement talking. This fucking clueless prick is a perfect opener for Bernanke's lies.

Vlad Tepid's picture

Whatever that ailment is that causes news anchors to occasionally start speaking in gibberish...I would have loved to see one of these two struck down with that.

rsnoble's picture

I'd have to have a check for at least $5,000.00 to sit thru a speech with those 2 fucking clowns.

In other news, yesterday it was reported the Housing Recovery is fake. Today they're looking for strength. LOL.  This is like a board game where all rules have been done away with and it's not worth playing anymore, game over.

rsnoble's picture

Oh and a fully stocked bar in addition to the check. And I want a minimum of 3hours drinking time before the speech starts, a pillow and a barf bucket.

lol.  Swallow hard TImmy.  blah, blah, blah Firewall - 'a place where the peoples money dissappears and our money masters money and power grows.'  blah, blah, blah.

Translation - we need more cash and keep spending like it's 1999 because (best junkie voice)

we just can't stop until we are dead!

lol.  We put Greece on a sustainable path...  Hahaha right over the cliff we all face..

Odin's picture

Fucking Geithner... At least The Bernank occasionally shows visable shame when he's lying through his teeth... Timmy boy is just a straight up psychopath...

Paul Atreides's picture

Just listen to Bernanke's voice, termors, slips ups, monotone.....he has no confidence and is scared shitless (Just look at videos 4+ years back) . I personally think the Federal Reserve twitter account was a stress test on the populus and they failed BIG TIME. They know humanity is going through a massive awakening and he knows that when SHTF he is going to be one of the first ones strung up.

OldE_Ant's picture

Maybe they'll keep talking and the markets will continue to drop..

A short break while Ben and Timmy go buy some S&P calls, sell the USD, i.e. a S&PeeeUSD break.
