Watch Bernanke's Press Conference Live

Tyler Durden's picture

Because live is better than dead. And just in case he lets one slip just what his price target for the Russell 2000 (aka the US GDP) is and how much gold the Fed will secretly lease. As a reminder, from Alan Greenspan testimony to Congress in July 1998: "Central banks stand ready to lease gold in increasing quantities should the price rise."

While I generally hate using the "F word", has anyone else noticed just how much Bernanke speaks like a complete fag

It's not just his uncertain, quivering voice and lower lip, but his inflections, his lisp, his weak "L"s, his mincing rhythm of speech --- I can just imagine the clammy, wet-noodle handshake he almost certainly gives, and while I have never seen him walk, I am picturing Nathan Lane in "The Birdcage".

Something tells me that there has been a good deal of "private consultation" between Bawney Fwank and Ben.

I suppose he didn't mention that US debt/GDP is 100.92% today. That's 35 days after it hit 100%. At that rate it's 120% in roughly 2 years. That's if the GDP stays the same and consitent borrowing rates. The last 35 days might be a bad basis for extrapolation but my bet is still, economy down and spending up so......120% in 18mo? But then again, the wheels could be completely off by then. <insert popcorn comment>

Historically until now, every single central-planning economy (CPE) has been a disaster. During the last 200 years, the zionist world bankng oligarchy thought that they are better.

Well, the CPE lately failed in USSR and China resulting in a collapse of the Soviet Union and the Chinese Cultural revolution, respectfully. Now, it is the USA and EU turn.

LOL What monetary policy? I wouldn't call printing fiat dollars like there is no tomorrow part of monetary policy. It is nothing short of an attack on the United States and its people, not even to mention the rest of the world. I suppose this is what happens when you allow the real terrorists to run your country (and the rest of the world for that matter) through privately owned central banks and what have you. Yes, the so called "good guys" who continue to murder and destroy innocent people under the false pretence of "peace and security". They are deliberately destroying the United States and other countries to formally bring us into their one world government wet dream. Good is bad and bad is good. Have I missed something?

Joke of the Day:

President Obama walks into the Wynn Casino and says to a cashier, "Good Morning;  I'm here on a free ride; could you please cash this check for me"?

Cashier (Looks like Bernanke with a lisp) : "It, it it, would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID"?

Obama: "Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't think there was any need to. I am President Barrack Obama, the president of the United States, and you look familiar?  Ben, baby,  what you doing here Bro?

Cashier: "Yes sir, I know who you are, its me, but i needed a job, no one believes in my BS anymore, but with all the government regulations, and regulators and Casino Security because of impostors and forgers, etc., I must Insist on seeing ID, s-s-s-s-sir."

Obama: "Putz, Just ask anyone here in the Casino who I am and they will tell you. Everybody knows who I am.  Hey Bill Clinton over here, ( he waves, to Clinton escorted by two knockout bimbos,  over here"   (He's ignored)

Cashier: "I am sorry, but these are government and Casino rules and regulations, and I must follow them we've never had a failure in the Casino Industry....EVER."

Obama:  " I know we have regulators and regulations Dodd- Frank, and Consumer Financial Protection (Condom) Bureaus, out the ass, now and oversight by the government for the protection of all clients and customers in our economy.

Cashier: (Ben, Doubled over in laughter, choking)  "Thank you sir, very good, that was a good one, I needed that, business is very slow."

Obama: "I am urging you please to cash this check, now, immediately,  Its a Crises"

Cashier: "Look, this is what we can do: One day Tiger Woods came into the bank without ID.

To prove he was Tiger Woods he pulled out his putting iron and made a beautiful shot across the lobby into a cup.

With that shot we knew him to be Tiger Woods and we cashed his check."

"Another time, Andre Agassi came in without ID. He pulled out his tennis racquet and served an ace shot directly into the center of our logo 90 feet away. With that spectacular shot we cashed his check.

"Even Jenna Jamieson came in without ID, after a while, a long while really,  we cashed her check too, she was spectacular too."

So, what can you do to prove that it is you, and only you?"

Obama stood there thinking, and thinking and finally says:

"Honestly, nothing comes to mind. I can't think of a single thing I can do."

Cashier: "Will that be large or small bills, Mr. President?"

Obama: "Large, Ben, Baby;  I want to spend it before I inflate it and make it worthless"

Cashier: " No problem, we fixed out printer, come back after lunch we will be printing more than you can carry"

The FOMC has a "democratic process"?  I just lost my lunch.  They want more transparency?  Give me a fucking break.  For starters, they could tell us who the owners of the Federal Reserve, and their branches, actually are.  Only then will we know why they vote the way they do.  I'd be surprised if they ever mention the "dual mandate" of the FR if it wasn't in the form of a joke.

Typical investor hears: even more low interest rates, stocks will skyrocket. Must buy now.

Inflationist hears: Low interest rates for longer, inflation will go postal, fed won't be able to pull in the money supply fast enough. It's the Wiemar Republic all over again. Buy gold.

Deflationist hears: No change to interest rates. They're doing this to fight deflation. Housing market crashing. It can't be stopped. They won't be able to stop deflation either. It's the 1930s all over again. Sell everything and stay in cash.

In every crisis, there is always one dipshit that stands up and says, "Follow me, I know the solution." That man is almost always insane.

My take on today's press conference is that the FED has decided that full employment is more important than price stability & that forms of quantitative easing are not helpful with their goal of full employment due to broken transmission mechanisms.

Leasing "tradition" helps support the fiat currency of 1st resort and that's why they put it on their balance sheet. If they didn't have all that "tradiation" to lease they wouldn't have the privilage to print irredemible FRN's for very long. I wonder how much "tradition" they have left in their vaults and I wonder how high in value they are prepared to let "tradition"get. Nixon had to close the "tradition" window in "72" because France was trying to redeem all their FRN's for our "tradition." They wanted to horde all the "tradition" for themselves and not trust us to do so. If you don't have nuclear weapons we will bomb you for your "tradition."

Here is the deal.

In 2008-2009, the PRIVATE bad debt should have been written down/off. The banks restructured. Then there should have been massive fiscal and monetary stimulus. Today The US would be back on a growth trajectory.

Instead that private debt was transferred to the public balance sheets. Now the Fed is going to keep ZIRP for years to try and inflate that bad debt away. The only winner in a ZIRP enviroment is the $14T US government debt. The people that make up the country well 99% lose on this path. Slowly but surely the US loses.

Monetary and fiscal choices that were made in 2008-2009 (which are currently being reinforced) will end up being more detrimental to the US way of life than ten 9/11's.

A final point. Japan has been on this program for almost 20 years. But they got lucky, because for most of their liquidity trap 20 years the rest of the developed world was growing. What happens to the US when their liquidity trap takes place at the same time as Europe starts imploding?

But how can anyone possibly believe that totally incompetent and clueless politicians and central bankers could solve anything. They created the problem in the first place and are therefore totally unsuitable to play the role of Deus. The main objective of governments is to stay in power and thus to buy votes. Therefore they are incapable of taking the right decisions. And the opposition, aspiring to power is even less suitable since they will lie through their teeth and promise the earth in order to be elected. (We know that there are exceptions like Ron Paul, but the voters will most probably find his medicine too strong to swallow.)

The real good guys may be oiling up their pieces and such represent stripes of all nations.

The self-sodomy joke of the devil doesn't all flow in one direction, or does it? Criminals often attempt to burn the place  behind them to cover tracks. I suppose some think we are all stooopid...
