Watch Nigel Farage Dance On The Euro's Grave

Tyler Durden's picture

Nigel Farage needs no introduction: the famous Euroskeptic is one of very few men who has had the temerity to question, often in an abnormally high decibel fashion, the stupidity of the Eurozone leaders from day one. Now that he has been proven correct, he has every right to gloat, which he does to everyone's delightful amusement in the European parliament. The look on the unelected von Rompuy's face, especially as he watches his decade-long bureaucratic nirvana crash and burn every single day, is quite priceless.

The way I see it, Germany is getting fucked as badly as any of the other EU member countries, they just happen to have started from a less shitty position - all nonsense about a German takeover of the EU notwithstanding. The Germans (the people that is - the government's in the same club as all the other traitorous governments) need to grow a sack and stop being cowed by their guilt.

No. You are mistaken. They are genuine communists. They want us to live on collectivised farms. It's a fact. I observe European politics. Look at the make up of the national parliaments of Italy, France and even Germany. Communist parties sit in them.

That's what's so amusing about the whole European project. They're socialists, communists whatever you want to call them. They don't believe that private capital should persist. It's a joke. As is the politics of large swathes of the European continent.

I don't want to appear angry at your comment. I understand the sentiment and I thank you for comment. I just hope we can all find a way out of this shitty mess that this European misadventure has got us in.

I'm just wondering, I've been doing a lot of research for an essay on Pinochet's rule in Chile, and one of the first things that the junta did was basically take basic rights of citizenship from Communists, socialists, and ultimately everyone on the political left. Now as fucked up as a lot of their policies were, I don't see what the problem is with having Communist parties in parliament. If you believe in democracy, in any true sense of the word, you need to tolerate them and let them participate in government, even when their political views are utterly opposite.

that being said, europe is fucked....

Thu, 11/17/2011 - 18:26 | 1889349 Melin

Not so...the goal of the communists and other collectivists is to deny individual rights.  An individual rights-respecting polity does not have to entertain and embrace those who wish to destroy individual rights.

Thu, 11/17/2011 - 19:51 | 1889668 Hicham
Hicham's picture

Aye but what if it's a polity in which a majority does not define individual rights as you do - eg. A clear majority of Canadians have voted for the option of a public healthcare system, that forces them (and people who did not vote) to pay taxes to support it, because a majority has decided that a minimum standard of healthcare should be provided. For some people with  a certain view of individual rights, this would be an unconscionable destruction of their freedom, even if it was voted on democratically.

Perhaps this will help clear up their confusion:

A “right” is a moral principle defining and sanctioning a man’s freedom of action in a social context. There is only one fundamental right (all the others are its consequences or corollaries): a man’s right to his own life. Life is a process of self-sustaining and self-generated action; the right to life means the right to engage in self-sustaining and self-generated action—which means: the freedom to take all the actions required by the nature of a rational being for the support, the furtherance, the fulfillment and the enjoyment of his own life. (Such is the meaning of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.)

The concept of a “right” pertains only to action—specifically, to freedom of action. It means freedom from physical compulsion, coercion or interference by other men.

Thus, for every individual, a right is the moral sanction of a positive—of his freedom to act on his own judgment, for his own goals, by his own voluntary, uncoerced choice. As to his neighbors, his rights impose no obligations on them except of a negative kind: to abstain from violating his rights.

The right to life is the source of all rights—and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.

Bear in mind that the right to property is a right to action, like all the others: it is not the right to an object, but to the action and the consequences of producing or earning that object. It is not a guarantee that a man will earn any property, but only a guarantee that he will own it if he earns it. It is the right to gain, to keep, to use and to dispose of material values.

You are right some, and wrong some.

It's true most of the European parliaments have some sort of comunist party or other. As we have Pirate party, for instance. Or christian inspired democrats. Whatever. Beats the hell out of the great Democrats / Republicans. At least various shades of grey are represented somehow.

The part about collectivised farms and don't believe in private capital was a joke, right? Not even the comunist party says that stuff anymore.

Now, you are right about many of the current euro-bureaucrats being former comunists of one flavour or the other.

For instance, Durão Barroso (you know, the fuckin president of the european comission) started out as one of the leaders of MRPP (Maoist party)

You say you "observe" European politics. Maybe you should take better care in your observations.

Cheers!

Not to split hairs, but he WAS a Maoist. That was back in the crazy revolutionary period of 74-75. Back then, even the pro-monarchy party wanted to make some sort of commune. (edit) Back then, EVERYBODY was a kind of comunist.

Fast forward to present times. Right before getting his "golden ticket" and enrolling as comission president, he was Prime Minister and leader of the Social Democrat Party. That is center-right here.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less about political labels, it's all the same shit really.

Keep in mind that he is married to a German. I am saying this as a German - Mr. Farage is very popular here in Germany and he has visited the country many times. There is also a discussion with him and the eurosceptic German economy professors Bagus and the 80 year old Hankel (which was very vocal in national TV against the Euro from the beginning).

So nobody can say that he is anti-German or anything like that.I agree with the notion. We need to refocus on what is important. Some say Germany could not survive without the Euro. When Germany had the DM they were capable of being export world champion (for several years in the late 80s). It's just about the top 5 percent. They've made a lot of money with the Euro and the job market liberalization (loan dumping). The majority of Germans have seen a lost decade already and a high loss of their living standard.

My vision of Europe is a peaceful and liberal cooperation between countries - no EU parliament, just the basics. Let us agree on some standards, let us have borderless travel of goods and citizens. That's exactly what Farage wants and I agree with that. Germans never wanted this currency and never wanted to be in this position. We should have a military alliance with our neighbours that should basically be non-interventionalist.

Just my two (soon to be worthless) Eurocents.

Yes, I agree with that. It's a nightmare for all of us. Kauder is an idiot - he is what we call in German a Parteisoldat (literally: a loyal soldier of the party).

I can laugh about both - Germans (towel) and British (sun). The stereotypes and so forth. And why not? A soccer championship without the English is just boring. I like the British, especially their black humour and they had and have many talented people.

I am just saying this before anyone gets a wrong idea. You can see that some of those politicians and elites already disturbed the peace between countries. Not a clever man like Farage, but the other idiots. That worries me a bit.

That was exactly the part in Nigel's rhetoric that I disliked.   We paid in blood to fight FASCISM, not the German nationality and certainly not the peaceable, hard-working Germany of today.

An important distinction, true.

But I think everyone understood that he was not talking about the German people, but the German oligarchs. The point being that imperialism (should be) dead by now. Nobody wants to go back there.

I don't know much of Farage beyond his absolutely spot-on hatred for everything EU, but as an American, who gets all his European news filtered through English SOB's, I'm sick of hearing the anti-German rhetoric. There are more Americans with German ancestry than English, and I for one, if I must express a preference based on nationality, have a bone to pick with the English and sympathy for the Germans. Those tea-guzzling motherfuckers and their Anglophile lackeys in our very own American oligarchy firebombed my family's ancestral home for no particular reason.

Ah, isn't nationalism fun? Look what your giving up with the EU - no more references to the frogs, the krauts, the limeys....quite a shame if you ask me.

Ron Paul is ignored in debates and in the mainstream media.

Kucinich's district got eliminated

Bernie is a token voice for the common person but I would not fly by private jet with him

Alan Grayson was eliminated from Congress so no one will trouble Bernanke as he spins his lies before Congress. He came closest to Nigel Farage in his honesty and eloquence

The oligarchs have the situation under control.  Now be a patriot and go to the mall. And wave the flag when we launch the next war.

Except here, the rules of the House and Senate would have you roasted and censured for life(Decorum of the Congress).

He say's what he can get by with on the floor, but most must be said on the MSM, and they being owned by the PTB, will not allow him to be heard..

And I will say, when a British government official/politican goes on the offensive, it can be quite the witty diatribe.  In a sense, I think we need more bomb tossing in D.C.  Maybe then we'd actually get some shit done.

Farage is full of crap. He was put there to look after British interest and not peoples's interest. All this charade is just that-charade.

People that consider him a true hero and man who speaks his mind, might just wanna take another look at him.

He is agent provocateur with orders to stirr controversy and try and sway opinions against Germany and Eurozone in general.

Germany is one of the few fiscally responsible countries in the world doing the right thing and yet they have to take all crap from loser European countries , suck it up and watch quietly how all this is being directed from Washington and London.

But Germany won't take it any longer and that is scary to Washington and London.

HE is probably on MI 6 paylist. British are losing their grip on Eurozone and they don't like it at all.

They will resort to their old tactics used in WW1 and WW2.

Provoke war with Germany once again.

Nigel Farage is a British scumbag.

Thank you

Okay, let for all sanity stop using the term Eurozone now.  It's Europe.  Been Europe for all recorded time in the last 1400 years, before that it was Rome, before that who knows...

The word Zone might as well have quarantine in front of it for the affection it receives.   It's a technocrat term that has the same level of history and culture in it as plain white paper.  Seriously what pops into your head when you think of Europe?  Castles, royalty, revolutions, battles maybe even ancestral origin.  Think of EuroZone, I picture something sterile and empty.

Maybe it's just me...
