IT’S OUR FAULT
It is pointless to attack either Obama and the democrats or Bohner and the republicans. The US political spectrum is narrow and the divisions are superficial, albeit strongly felt.
You libertarians who hang out here and us socialists who hang on here need to get our respective acts together. We need to support each other to the extent of seeing to it that we are heard in public debates, run for public office. Neither Ss nor Ls are anywhere to be found as elected officials. Our respective approaches to the body politic are limited to online chitter chatter.
It’s our fault that we do not insist on having debates between us that are aired on the publicly owned airways. We permit each other to be excluded.
It would be a damned shame if we allow 2012 to be just another in the long history of American political seasons where nothing is on offer except whosoever survives the R debates (probably someone who currently isn’t in them; like, say, Petraeus) and Obama (or someone of the same ilk from the D label).
Here’s what I suggest. We need to schedule debates between Ss and Ls. What’s the matter Ls, are you afraid of us socialists?
