If you have never visited a Fed branch, it is now a cvery intimidating experience. I worked in a southern Fed 1989-90 and the access to the building was easy - drive up in the circle out front any time. This Fed has been undergoing renovations for over 10 years - it is now a fortress. Visited for the first time 6 months ago since working there - my car entered a "dead man zone" - a German Shepherd sniffed all around my car completely, then I walked into a another holding area for metal detector and Q&A. All of this was before ever setting foot into the actual fed building. The guards are noticeably armed and protected. I guess more post 9/11 stuff...
I guess that proves they don't have anything good up their sleeves for the proles. You only get security like that when you are about to make some committed enemies. Buy gold and silver folks.
Please find out what the Federal Reserve Police as well as the checkpoints themselves are supposed to be for.

To my mind since the Federal Reserve is a private entity/corporation they have zero jurisdictional zones except their own property (maybe it's for all the MBSs they own now).
