Why Were The Trillions In Fake Bonds Held In Chicago Fed Crates?

Tyler Durden's picture

While there is precious little in terms of detail coming out of the latest and literally greatest "fake" bond story in history, the BBC has been kind enough to release the pictures of the boxes that the supposedly fake bonds were contained in. While we reserve judgment on the authenticity of the bonds, what we wonder is whether the boxes were also fake. Because while we can understand why someone would counterfeit the Treasury paper itself, what we don't get is why someone would go the extra effort to also create a "fake" compartment in which to store it. In this case a compartment that is property of the "CHICAGO FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM." Perhaps Fed uberdove and Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will be kind enough to explain why Versailles Treaty Chicago Fed crates are floating around in Europe (and filled with $6 trillion in supposedly fake bearer bonds)?

What is also interesting is that a simple google search for Mother Box Treaty of Versailles yields the following:

Transferring rights over Mother Box Treaty of Versailles 1934-Illinois Bank

We transfer rights over Mother Box Treaty of Versailles 1934-Illinois Bank having the next status:

And some other examples of Chicago Fed Mother Boxes courtesy of divinecosmos:

And below is a fascinating, if entirely uncorroborated account on the provenance of these boxes, once again courtesy of Divine Cosmos. Unwittingly, the counterfeiters may have stumbled upon something they had no idea about:

This paper (with references) confirms that Treasury notes with nominations as high as $500 million HAVE indeed been issued by the US Treasury:

http://www.ehs.org.uk/ehs/conference2005/Assets/NollFullPaper.doc

A Paper for Presentation at the 2005 Annual Conference of the Economic History Society at the University of Leicester, 8-10 April 2005

By Dr. Franklin Noll

Introduction
For most of their history after World War II, Treasury notes have been issued with denominations never rising above a high of $1 million. Yet, from 1955 to 1969, the Treasury issued Treasury notes with the added denominations of $100 million and $500 million. The purpose of this study is to determine why the Treasury issued these very-high-denomination Treasury notes and why it stopped doing so.

If the bonds are not fake, the US debt is much bigger than they're admitting. Frankly, that's probably what we all know deep down inside. The debt has been building higher and higher since the creation of the Fed and they've done everything they could to hide it. Maybe WW2 was meant to destroy all remnants of the debt.

I'm less inclined to believe the bonds are fake. I'm more interested to know whether or not the bonds still have a value and can be collected.

I think it's time the TROIKA comes to town!

Obama should confiscate them and use them to reduce the official government debt. (Don't ask me how that would work, this is just mindless speculation.) Then he can get reelected by claiming he reduced the debt by 40%. It would give him room to avoid having to renegotiate the debt ceiling in September or October.

Then the total U.S. debt would be about the same as now when he retires in 2017, as he could run $1.5 trillion deficits for four more years.

In Rickards book, he basically says that there is no threat posed by someone dumping USTs on the market all at once.  So what "security threat" did these fake bonds pose exactly?

Fri, 02/17/2012 - 12:25 | 2169936 seek
seek's picture

The threat would be, if they are real, that the UST issued more debt than reported. A lot more debt.

So if they were authenticated, it would severely compromise faith in US debt, and create a lot of very uncomfortable questions at home, which will never be asked by the media lapdogs, but might get mentioned on a blog or two.

I have a feeling that these bonds are real.

Why would someone go through the trouble of counterfeiting a something that is the equivalent of a piece of history, these when the chance of passing them would be nil?  You would be better off spending your efforts counterfeiting 1000 EUR notes, it would be about as difficult, and they would be easier to pass, and you'd actually get something in return (as opposed to trying to cash trillions of dollars of bonds).

I'm sure the Chinese now realize that to enforce their contracts, force of law won't be enough at this point. Either that, or they will simply dump their treasury holdings and drive gold to the moon.  Or both.

Unless they can be satisfied doing that, or have some other way to insure they are repaid, I suggest that everybody go long Sunburst and Dong Feng 21D missiles.

EDIT:

Just zoomed in and counted the stars and stripes on that box.

52 stars, 26 stripes.  Not looking too legit.  Somebody better have an explanation for this.  I'm not sure the "they made these bonds with glaring errors so they could later refute provenance" holds water, either.

Still think there's going to be an issue with the Chinese redeeming their treasurys though...

If the plan is to euthanize the USD, this is one step closer to it. Getting rid of the USD as the WRC looks to be the end game.

The primary thought by the banker elites seems to be to get rid of the USD at the same time the EURO goes extinct, making way for a transition to a one world currency that the BRICs will buy into to prevent an Asian WRC.

as a collector of 'antiques' I am especially drawn to the way the boxes are made.A person does not 'just' have a box of this quality 'thrown together', I did not see a typo in any of the embossed lettering that was done in the sheet metal, and the patina and style of hinges and latches are "world class" if indeed this is a fake.

I would not be surprised to see a company trademark in the metal someplace. Even doing work for the Squid, a company(or persons) would be proud of this workmanship.

As mentioned in my prior post which was laughed at, forensic evidence.

Also.......having been a sheetmetal worker for 20 years I would like to mention that the design and mfg of these crates in the pictures in this article are consistent with the 1930's.   Not to mention the trouble it would have been to stamp out the letters etc. Not an impossible task but it's very hard to imitate "age".

Also I have dealt in antiques/auctions etc for the past 15 years and from my experience in dealing with old stuff just by looking at the pictures I would have to conclude that they crates are indeed authentic.  Of course I am not sure if my knowledge of what's going on in the world is subconciously affecting my descision.

The rusting, design of the handles, stamping, the welding, use of castings etc are all of a time when stuff was built to last and there was actually some amount of pride involved.

Others are suspect over the font.  The flag really does appear to be incorrect (you'd think that anyone in the US would actually be able to get symmetry correct with those, then, "48" stars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_flag_48_stars.svg).

I'm NOT a welder, only having done some crap way back when, while in high school, but... those are SHIT welds!  Again, look at anything back in those days that represented HIGH value and I'm not thinking that it was going to be fabricated by folks less capable than high school shop students!

#1: I can't see the flag that well.

#2: Regarding the shit welds: from what I understand it's a wood box with a copper exterior meaning it wasn't welded it was brazed which isn't nearly as pretty as a modern day MIG (metal inert gas) welder.

High school students don't have near these abilities.

Although "maneco" posted the link he only refered to "more pictures" - that's not really the point if you follow the link.

The link is a blog by David Wilcock about a lawsuite filed recently.  I believe the most recent article (both posted on zerohedge) are disinformation attempts (not by zerohedge but the MSM).  I would suggest you follow the link and take the time to read through the blog that provides the history and evidence for the lawsuite.  The controllers of the system are in panic mode.

You think?

They can no longer hide the lie that we can perpetually grow on a finite planet.  PANIC was always going to occur; it's the result of being found out a fraud, which is what all those who don't do actual work and command others to do real work do.

It makes no difference if they are real or fake.  The real issue here is to see how the government dealt with them - namely, they just picked them up, declared them counterfeit, and presto, they are gone.  Who is to say that they won't handle future claims the same way.  No need to default on the debt, just declare it counterfeit, seize it, and walk away.  Who will ever know the difference?

Hey, you know those hot checks floating around out there drawn on my account?  Well, guess what, they are forgeries and counterfeits, so leave me alone.  What, you have security video clearly showing me executing the documents - no, you've just got video of my evil twin, so go away.

Maybe the point is that the Treaty of Versailles specified gold as the unit of measure.

From the text of the treaty regarding reparations:

Payments required to be made in gold or its equivalent on account of the proved claims of the Allied and Associated Powers may at any time be accepted by the Commission in the form of chattels, properties, commodities, businesses, rights, concessions within or without German territory, ships, bonds, shares or securities of any kind, or currencies of Germany or other States, the value of such substitutes for good being fixed at a fair and just amount by the Commission itself.

Snark attack ~ massive snark attack:

Century of Progress Exposition

Here in the making, through years of financial crisis, was several million dollar public enterprise going forward steadily along lines not experienced in the history of our national expositions. A Century of Progress was completed without one cent of taxation being imposed upon an already heavily burdened citizenry. Other world expositions have greatly depended upon subsidies.

Early needs were met from the fees of founder and sustaining members of the corporation. The citizens of Chicago formed the World's Fair Legion. More than a hundred thousand paid the $5.00 membership fee. The basis of financing was an issue of gold notes of ten million dollars. No contract was let unless there were means with which to pay for it.

http://www.cityclicker.net/chicfair/

Do your own analysis of the symbolism within this poster for the expo

"Depleting the resources of the soundest government in the world [through profligate spending]" ~ Political Cartoon, Chicago, 1934

$12,750 ~ 1934 $1000 bill

March for Cash relief, Chicago, 1934 - "the banks were heavily guarded"

John Herbert Dillinger ~ $10,000 Wanted: Dead or Alive. The infamous bank robber was shot & killed in Chicago on July 22nd, 1934.

1934 was a doozy alright... oh, and since it's Friday, some old Chicago classy titillation for the males in the room, from the expo.

So to sum this all up it appears that these were the bonds the US gave to China in trade for all the gold China sent to the US to protect it from the Japenese and all the gold disappeared on 9-11 that was supposedly under Bldg#7 in which the Feds lost a court case in that they were supposed to give the gold back. Where it's at now is anyone's guess? Exactly how these crates ended up where they did im not sure.

That's how I read all this. So what are the implications?  If that's all true then basically all this could do is add more evidence surrounding 9-11, there won't be any financial ramifications resulting from this.  Not to worry though we have enough problems as it is to result in our collapse 10,000x.

At an average income of say $50,000 / year that box represents the labour of 1.7 million lifetimes.  The same amount of paper can be purchased at staples for about $50.00.  Seems funny that a box of IOUs could represent so much real labour.

This story is better.  A Canadian demanding payment for German reparation bonds issued during the previous period .

http://www.canadianbusiness.com/article/14614--battle-of-the-bonds-germa...

Although it is true that the US loaned the Germans the cash to pay the reparations to the crazy French and Brits, not clear why there would be any such activity in 1934.  Germany was in default in 1934 cuz that Hilter fellow wasn't paying.

Great stories from the 1920s and 1930s...of JP Morgan arranging the circular loans to Germany, gold being shipped TO Germany, etc. etc....even a later 'debt-for-Jews' proposal that traded off emigration of Jews against retiring outstanding bonds.  The US bondholder negotiator during the Nazi era?  John Foster Dulles.

Look at the flag on the box. In 1938, the U.S. had 48 states, and the flag had 48 stars. In 1938 the stars were set up in six rows of eight stars, all in even colums, top to bottom, left to right. The pics here clearely shows the incorrect number of stars for 1938, and that they are staggered, as the current U.S. flag is. FAKE, PROVEN POSITIVE.

"In 1938 when the Chinese Ambassador Wellington Koo called on U. S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau to seek financial aid, the U. S. Secretary told him it might be advisable for the Chinese Government to send K. P. Chen (whom Morgenthau had negotiated with in the past) to America to enquire after credit for the purchase of flour and grain goods."

China was in poor financial condition in 1938 and needed assitance from abroad. They certainly did not have substantial gold reserves, much less several trillion dollars worth. If they in fact had large gold reserves, they could have sold it off in small tranches to pay their bills. The fact that they were close to insolvency in 1938 indicates that they did not possess large gold reserves.

Thirty years ago, I was working with a group arranging a loan for Taiwan from private Saudi sources. A banker told me that "$3 billion would sink the country". That's B, not T.
