Agree, it is full of inevitable contradictions, but it is what it is. Gotta disagree heartily about Uncle Warren, though. He's showing some serious business smarts in trying to head a revolution off at the pass. And likely nothing more enlightened than that, imo.
"So far only Warren Buffet is standing up to the beast."
Riiiiiiiiiiight.
That was a real credibility killer for me, too.
You know, it's a lot easier to mouth off about taxing the rich when you aren't one. Give the old man some credit.
How hard is it say that I don't want anyone else, rich or poor, to be forced to pay for my upkeep?
Just the tip of the iceberg I would imagine.
Just the tip, I promise. Just the tip.
That 33 is missing a few zeros.
Wow I guess some people are going to have sh&*y Christmas / Holiday Season. Look I am all for free market capitalism but unless you're an ahole you don't fire or lay people off between Oct 30 and Jan 1.
I agree. Its pratically impossible to line up an interview during this time of year. At least notify these people on Jan 2. you bastards.
This is not free market capitalism. It is Crony Capitalism run by a bunch of autocratic oligarchs.
Please pass the fascism, it's over by Benny
Perhaps it's time to drop the fancy terms and just spit out what it really is: Assholism.
Wow! Talk about a "heads up!" Interesting to see Flextronics, Lowe's, and many more S&P companies laying off. But we're not in a recession . . .
Its bullish for their earnings, profit margins up as employees are down
I'm glad that corporations are only focused on the next quarters earnings and profit margins. No use believing tinfoil theories like an employed labor force will increase future demand.
You just crashed their server.
Just in time for xmas bonuses
Their bonuses are actually paid in late February for the prior year. Timing has more to do with their 4Q balance sheet. And the fact that they are indeed total assholes.
Jews don't celebrate christmas. perhaps hanukha bonus.
Go to a wall st. bank in NYC and see how many suckers are working on Christmas.
George Clooney just landed at JFK.
Everyone laid off is named Linda Green.
Oil just cleaned house....
I like boobies. Let them dance on poles.
So is it 33 or 333? Or 250 + 41 + 33 = 324?
Layoffs are transitory so just remember to think of Munger saying "suck it up". There, feel better?
Now those laid off workers can join the OWS crowd instead of watching them from the balconies.
BAC employee OWS sign: I used to be the 1%
no the sign should read: "I thought I was going to make it in the 1%, but no more"
Hey BAC employees...ya doubt that the company can exist without YOU...fill out a loan application and see what happens when you declare employment as BAC.
these people who about to get layoffed, are just lazy slugs and need to get jobs
You can't make more lemonade without sacrificing a few lemons.
you need a lot of lemons for a small cup of lemonade.
It really only takes one BOA employee to borrow free money from the fed and then loan it back to the US treasury for profit. And maybe another one to tell him how good of a businessman he is. The rest are pretty much disposable.
Obama says America is just getting soft. Yeah, that must be it.
Whoops...

BAC on the street! (I know...it's weak)
'Worker Adjustment and Retraining' LOL gotta love it!
Well, not so much if youre on the list to be 'adjusted' I guess.
How about that for Newspeak, eh SD1?
ORI
NewSpeak
NewSpeakII
Retrain them for computer jobs. Oh, those have been exported?
Retrain them for manifacturing jobs? Oh, those have been exported too?
Retrain them for government jobs? Oh, those are about to get cut?
Retain them to work at McDonalds? Oh, those have been filled with illegal immigrants?
I have it, retrain them for the Army.
Have them take over the countries that imported those jobs. Nothing says justice more than taking out the foreign country's imported jobs (that they received from the US) with US military hardware.
Well....
Is it 33 ...or 333....???
Silver should see both in the next 36 months.
Carpal Tunnel for the rest of you Robo-Signers. Get cracking! No lunch period for you.
Here's to these ex-bankers doing some actual good for the real economy and not what their former employers were doing. They're free from the matrix so don't fuck it up.
Me bad...
Mke comment before read and understand story properly.
Ooooppps.
Are protesters going to leave the park tomorrow; or, are they going to remain steadfast? That is the question.
No inside info here, but my guess is they'll move, if push comes to shove. There is plenty of public space available to accomodate them, abeit perhaps spread across several areas (though growth would have put them in this position anyway.) They're strongly networked, though, so it should be no problem. It's only a matter of where are they gonna sleep, in any case. They can gather and march anywhere they like (except on Wall Street proper, which has been closed off anyway.)
These guys, for better or for worse, are all about the Ghandi approach to revolution. If it gets physical, that alone will be your confirmation that they've been infiltrated by provocateurs.
Enemy #1: Banksters Good riddance mo-fo's ! Go get a real f'ing job.
Enemy #2: Govt now lets 'layoff' all those mo-fo's also !
I am going long on whistles and whistle blowing.
Perfect!
Does this mean that Cramer will put BAC on his Buy list?
There should be no layoffs on Wall St... because if any of those human filth had any decency they would have jumped by now.
You're a fucking bank. You make money from thin air. You borrow from the Fed, you loan back to the US Treasury and you still can't make fucking money? Are you that fucking stupid. I suppose you could always JUMP YOU FUCKERS!
Lulz.
Boo fucking hoo.
As a consolation, BofA will waive your debit card monthly fee of $5 for 1 month. Happy Holidays, and thank you for helping us fuck over the Amerikan public.

Please update the list to include the names of those who should be removed by force.
yeppers, site is froze up!!!!!!!!!!!
things get a little slow around christmas...
this is bullish for florida rentals, eh?
I've found that in corporate america if you still have a job after thanksgiving, you're good for another year. Q4 seems to be a good time to clean house and prepare for next year.
well I think you are going to find that wall st. america is going to fire folks on Christmas.
I've seen people get laid off
Here is the truth, capitalism is cutt throat and brutal as much as any other system.
Looks like they are eliminating their various ABS units.
hopefully the above posters are not representative of the collective IQ of all zh readers
and not even funny to boot
BOA laying off or transferring 330 part time employees is equivalent to a small business not calling in one part time worker
not sure why any increase in unemployment down there would make any poster take these cheap shots
raise the bar Tyler
What am I supposed to do instead, put on my sheeple suit and say 'Baaa I 'hope' things are getting better'?
You might chose to avoid taking pleasure in the pain suffered by your fellow man. But that's just a suggestion.
Give me more than one guy who doesn't celebrate or at least silently accomodate the misery of "useless eaters" to make that argument.
"Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers you do unto me." I'm an atheist but I think that Jesus was onto something there in a round about way.
+ The One from this athiest as well.
Every worker transferred from the rapacious and unproductive financial sector to a sector that actually contributes something to society is a victory. But I do feel sympathy for the individual families.
Dont think of it as loseing a job think of it as retireing early.
I see Goldman Sachs is doing God's work again. But then again, with 250 less employees, just think how much more money in bonuses can be paid out.
"Gardner in the Hamptons"
People of all ages losing jobs. College grads can't find jobs. Logical solution: Raise retirement age and keep people in the labor force longer. Retarded. The retirement age should be lowered until we reach full employment.
And then older workers can just lose their homes and starve slowly on SSI. Logan's Run anyone?
can we call this cannibalism?
Keiser Report: Dog & Pony Show (E196)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d8PCox-kUY
Uploaded by RussiaToday on Oct 13, 2011
This week Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert, talk about the Sarkozy-Merkel dog and pony show announcing the plan without a plan and about when an asset isn't really an asset. In the second half of the show, Max Keiser interviews Ellen Brown, author of Web of Debt, about the German Landesbanks and a Swiss community currency.
Dam tyler look at what you created, everyone is running the story now, you def are a market mover.

That number is much too low. Multiply it by 100, and I'll be happy.
"JPMorgan on Thursday said it would cut 1,000 jobs from its investment banking business."
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/13/us-usa-economy-jobs-corporate-...
nothing like seeing "doing god's work" "best and the brightest" banksters get government "unemployment" entitlement checks.
can somebody take a youtube video of these fools and post it up? Bonus points if you have them protesting in front of JP Morgan Chase buildings.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Thank you.
What I don't get about the banksters is that I have four credit cards, one at 0% until next year and three others at about 23-24%. I use them, make more than enough money to keep the balances low, but, even though they are borrowing at ridiculous rates and lending to me at even more ridiculous and usurious rates on the other end of the spectrum, getting a credit limit hike is impossible. Guess they figure if they give me too much I'll buy silver and default, so maybe those wily banksters are really smart guys, but I doubt it.
Maybe you can count "shitty job prospects" as revenue while you're at it.
I'm amazed at how people with everything whine more than those without nothing.
Do you know what I would give to ship a poker tournament just so I can pay the rest of my student/cc debt off, move to Montreal, and claim political asylum at this point?
The corruption and outright selfness of US society is about to hit itsbreaking point....nevermind peak.
Great news! Its finally starting to happen.....less banker scum!
NYC and its financial "industry" (lol) needs to be knocked down a notch or two or three...hubris and greed need to be reigned in.
Cut Your Welfare Wall Street Ho's
Wait Wall Street tax payer welfare ho's aren't workers...
They're well... welfare ho's...
So they can't be laid off because they don't have jobs...
They have been taking TBTF welfare ho' checks from Amerikan tax payers since 2008 when we saved their bankrupt TBTF employers with TBTF welfare...
