The 'WTF SkyNet' Chart Du Jour

Tyler Durden's picture

UPDATE: In case you were wondering, IBM's magnicently efficient market behavior today provided 53.6 points for the Dow - which ended the day up only 34.6 points - phew!!

We are sure someone smarter than us can come up with a story and narrative to explain what is going on here. We just sit back and enjoy the beauty of a sentient SkyNet picking off every single stop trade possible.

IBM...

KO...

and MCD...

and the impact on the Dow...

Those are all the same company.

In fact, there is only ONE company being traded now, having M+A all the rest, the exchanges try to cover it over so they just issue a bunch of tickers that make you think it's different companies.

So a more interesting question is: which company is it? Who holds the One Ring?

These are distribution algos -- they buy (mark up) and sell, but at the end of the day they sell more than buy.

The entire stock market is under manipulative distribution.

Also note, EBAY, IBM, and QCOM were gapped up (to force a short squeeze, EPS and revenue misses did not matter) on no volume and then the stocks were held up at a relatively narrow range on 3X average daily volume -- a classic distribution price action.

On an aggregated level, that's what all the algos combined looks like. Look how the waves get a bit smaller every cycle in the first two diagrams as everything is programmed to flip at a safe level. Shouldn't be so hard for a human trader to beat but I suspect that almost all large cap volume is algorithmic at this point. The volume is spread out almost perfectly over the day like still water.

I've one stock on my watchlist for years that I've never bought or sold.  I have it on my streaming just to look at it.  It's so simple, it's always the first stock that goes up, and the first stock that goes down, always seems to be 'leading the pack trend'.  A small stock, and one that I'd never BID  on, try watching it sometime for a period.

Whoo-oo, doggies!!! That's some whipsaw, isn't it? "Buy it on the hour, hit it on the half-hour".  Put a big ol' bollinger band on that 1 min and see what you can do with it. May I try to help? 'One side of the BB to the other'. Ha!

My crystal (meth? yikes!) ball might work and it might not, but here goes.  The Target for KO  of 6/4/12 L is $80.38. The 7/16/12 L has a Target of 80.67 on it. Neither 'have to hit'. Duhh...  I have no idea if either will. If it goes above that a bit, then $84.50 area enters equation.

IBM,,,was in a short from 6/19 with target of $181.82 that hit at 181.85 and bounced on good EPS. Needs to 'confirm long' by getting above 199.69 area...  Give or take. If so, sets up target of 223 area. If not,,,well, possible $175 looms. Oh look, we're almost 38% to the long target! How clever...

MCD has to 'very soon' break above 94 area and $96 to 'break the short' it is in.  If not, then $82 enters as a Target. If so, recent L's have long term Target of $109. My long 'Stop' is at 89.25 area for MCD. I have NO IDEA of fundamentals on these, folks, just lookin' at the chart ONLY. OK? ok. (sigh) Strictly fibonacci.

Has anyone noticed the current /ES and/or spx Day chart comparing to last year July of how similar we are this year?  Anyone? We have a Fed meeting coming up. We have nutjobs wanting 'payback' war (because of red-headed stepchild?).  Of course we DO have Targets way above in the 1400's and beyond. (Like I know if it will get there or not.) The Day chart looks exactly as last year, right before the selloff.

Feeling 'lucky'??? Fool me once,,, ok,,,2000 once, 2008 twice,,,now uhh,,thrice?

How big did they say was that Lithium deposit in Afghanistan? Now what can we 'invent' with Lithium?  And we'll 'need a supply'? Hmm...
