You're On The New Servers

Welcome to the New ZH Servers. Due to recent traffic surges (courtesy of what we believe is a permanent transition to market efficiency) which resulted in numerous server crashes over the past 3 weeks, courtesy of 1.5 - 2 million page views per day, we have had to upgrade once again, a move that was funded thanks to your donation generosity, dear readers. We are now at a state where even a 500 point drop in the S&P will hopefully not bring us down. We will also gradually return all the recent UI improvements such as comment ranking, and contributor blogs that we had to eliminate due to processor capacity limitations. We hope you enjoy the experience.

Can't thank you enough for all you guys do. Tyler, this site is the closest thing I've ever had to a bible and I'm eternally grateful for everything you write and all the time you devote. This has become the one site I can't do without. Thank you, thank you, thank you. BTW, I've been reading you for a couple years (just recently registered) and I never miss a chance to recommend this site. You'll pass Drudge in traffic in no time, so get ready for another server upgrade. Oh, and I liked the green/red arrows.

We still haven't got the red 'NEW' and 'UPDATED' denoters by the headlines that we used to have. Any chance of getting those back? It was very useful for me if I was going back through stories later in the day to see which ones I hadn't read.

I think 'updated' still pops up when applicable. For checking unread stories, see if Comments = New Comments, down at the bottom. If they show the same number you either missed that story, or were very quick off the mark when it was originally posted!

Re new format : please kill the two lines or so of whitespace below each comment. It makes the comments less dense, mroe scrolling.

Also : Will the old threads with "Archived" comments now be un-archived? I am not sure everyone is aware that the history of comments here is currently quite brief.
