Zynga Does Secondary Offering Less Than Three Months After Going Public

Tyler Durden's picture

Is social media the new Chinese reverse merger? Only three months after its IPO, ZNGA (trading over 21% above its post-IPO open price) will be doing a secondary offering. Yes, you lucky punters who can't get enough of FBOOK's IPO can step in and fill another money void (with your money on the sidelines) with this follow-on (supposedly to avoid a lock-up sell-off!!). The stock is trading down only 2% on this 'great' news. When will ZNGA announce their dividend hike?

Despite the fact that Zynga is a fun whipping boy, and makes for good farmville jokes, they really are the future (assuming we have a future that doesnt involve the Humongous as our overlord).

I have one for you shorters.  Take a look at City Federation on facebook.  http://apps.facebook.com/cityfederation/   It is like 1000 times better than Cityville but not completed for another 2 weeks.  You can play it now but they do not advertsie yet for a few weeks until completed. Even in Beta now it is already better and Cityville by Zynga which is their main game. Think about this - when this game launches in a few weeks when they finish up they already have cities that are not cartoon like, are more 3d like and amazing graphics for buildings and - you can have 1000 or more cities so no restriction like Cityville and you can have some combat and empire building too.

Makes me think of a nice short play soon.  :)  Plus there is a small political component that fellow members here would love. Look at their promot video in themasthead about war globally, revolution in Greece and so on.  Very Ron Paulish and Liberarian like.  I'm already playing and it is only in Beta for 2 more weeks.

Every time I get frstrated I take a drone and destroy a building.  Gets out a lot of aggression and cartoon like Zynga Cityville is liek a child's game in comparison.

Full Disclosure - I have a relative working on the game and giving me the inside info.

These freemium causal social games suck. Free to start then want like real money, $10-100 to get anywhere. Only so many suckers to pay. The rest are getting wise.

Yes I am pretty sure that the depressed (and broke) 20 somethings with absolutely no disposable income whatsoever are the perfect demographic for doing targetted advertising to.  Once the student loan train finally is reined in (which is inevitable due to its sheer size), then this avenue for disposable income will end as well. Also, since study after study shows that the people who spend the most time on facebook are clinically depressed, I am guessing then that these people also have all kinds of pictures and postings on facebook to prove what a wonderful life they are having.

Facebook and the rest can be summed up in 4 words... Pump and Dump Schemes..

LOL  I tried to edit but the system would not let me back in to edit my bad english in the post.  The game CityFed though is pretty awesome which was my point considering that Cityville is the main game of Zynga and they really suck compared to Cityfederation that is about to be released.  http://apps.facebook.com/cityfederation/  I apologize for my typing.

Hey, If I thought money was going to be hard to come buy, as the CEO of a public company, I would also want to suck as much money as possible out of the market (err ... hedge funds pretending to be banks) so that I could pay myself gobs of money while the rest of the world collapsed.
