My understanding of the civilian labor force used to calculate the LFPR was 16 and older, not in the military, not jailed or institutionalized and not retired. Some people say 16-64, but some people retire sooner or later than 64.
The "Fact checks" came out after the SOTU, and I am seeing explanations of the drop in the LFPR as mainly due to the baby boomers retiring. Now, without going into media manipulation of the uninformed populace, can someone explain the LFPR and whether or not retired workers are included. If it isn't a yes or no, which I hope it isn't, please explain in detail to teach me.
Thanks
